People of all ages were here hanging out however some were taking the games way to seriously. It is a decent sized space but with all the games and big pieces of furniture it gets crowded fast. The bartender were so nice and seemed pretty quick, hard to say how it will be when it gets busy. The drinks were good but they only have paper straws, and they also have a charcuterie board you can order. Their "specialty" is a pickle shot (in the giant glass jug behind the bar) and if you throw in a few beers, your tab will be $10, and that includes a nice tip. Is the bar fancy? The one thing none of our group appreciated was that the front windows were wide open and people smoked outside the entire night. They literally had ashtrays on the windowsill. God, I love this place…read more It had been a hot minute. I was in the area the other night and already made plans to come here after my work event. Candlelight is one of Denver's best dives and it's not even close. You're greeted by iconic signage, similar to what you see on Colfax. Remember this is Wash Park, so it sticks out more than usual. And I say that as a unwavering compliment. Happy hour deals every day of the week, some of them even lasting through close. Mondays are burger nights and Wednesdays are wing nights. Currently $7 on either of those nights! I haven't had this burger in a long long time. Upon first bite, steaming hot burger juice splattered onto my hand. I still see the burn nearly two days later. Was it worth it? Of course it was. Fluffy bun, melty cheese, and meaty burgerness. A little overcooked for my liking, but you're not making a fuss at a place like this. Prices are shockingly good. Inflation proof! Pool, darts, tv's, all the dive bar staples are here. A $20 bill goes a long way here. Food runs until 11:30pm every night!
