I'll start by saying - I love this bar. I love the owner. I love the bartenders. I love the crowd. I love the prices. I love the vibe. I grew up in this neighborhood and Christian took the reigns and turned it into a place that you can call "my bar." This is what happens when a dive bar hooks up with a neighborhood bar and has a kid that makes it a habit of being insolent. Bonus - it's a Philly Bar. Another bonus - the merch is HILARIOUS. Third bonus - there's a neon sign telling you to not do coke in the bathroom. Fourth bonus - Karaoke Fridays. Fifth bonus: Live and loud music on the patio when the weather is nice. Seriously, I'd rather spend time in this bar than some vapid, IG worthy, over priced, douche canoe hangout in RINO with equally vapid and fake clientele. This spot is a hidden gem on East Colfax. I'm originally from Philly, and EastFax Tap has that same neighborhood vibe that makes you feel right at home. Every Sunday they host a comedy show, and honestly, it's way better than you'd expect from a dive bar setup. The comedians are hilarious -- a mix of local talent and surprise drop-ins. Perfect way to end the weekend. The staff is super friendly, the drinks are cheap (plus Sunday drink specials, and I think they run deals most days), and the whole vibe is just easygoing and fun. They also have a big back patio that's awesome in warm weather -- I've seen BBQs, live music, food trucks, and even stand-up out there. Best dive bar in this part of town. Frankly, the definition of a dive bar. Not very fancy place on a not great stretch of Colfax. Odd cast of friendly and talkative characters, bartenders who are super friendly and funny as hell. They have a patio with live (punk) music I've never really gone to, but looks fun! Dog friendly. No food on premises, but last time I was there a couple people just brought their own. If you just want a super unpretentious and fun place to have a night cap, this is a great one. If you want something more lively, check out a night they have live music. read more

I wish to encourage dog owners to come and have a Beer or two to support EastFax! EastFax USED to serve really good pizzas made locally, They now do not due to the health rules regarding food and dogs. EastFax specifically chose having dogs be allowed over serving pizzas. I would rather have a dog friendly bar vs a bar that has food. You can get food anywhere, dog friendly bars are few and far between. So Thank You EastFax for providing a space for us to have a few beers with our doggies. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about the owner and the bartenders here. I was in denver for a ski trip with my friends which happened to land on super bowl weekend. I am from Philly, so I started looking for Eagles bars. I came across Eastfax and I am so glad I did. As soon as we walked into the door we were treated like family. Everyone was SO welcoming and kind. The owner thanked us for coming in and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. I will definitely be back here if I am ever in the area. read more

This is East Denver. Use to operate under another name and, to be honest, I never went in back in those days. One day after work I wanted to mellow with a shot and a beer. Bartender was friendly and quick, drew a pabst a poured a nice shot. Not much talking but was very open to injections of dialogue with the two people he was talking with. A few times later he gave me the history of the structure after I asked and remarked about how much it reminded me of my old home on Roslyn. Very friendly place and keeping the old 'hood cool. In Denver for work, needed a place close to my friend to have a drink. This place has immaculate one dollar sign dive bar vibes lol. Nice bartender, homey "we're all friends here" vibes, stickers and shit all over the walls, ad for $2 Jell-O shots, and a nice back patio where u can smoke and not be harassed. Also some guy was back there making chicken wings and he gave me a free one (sorry I forgot your name chicken man but it wa delicious). Eastfax Tap is the new version of the bar that once existed called "The Hangar". Westworld magazine: "We're excited," says Ericksen, who has decades of experience in the restaurant business. "We want to make a place where literally we and our staff know everyone's name. We are going to create a laid-back spot where people want to come back often and bring their friends. Our goal is to have the bar be a meeting place where local neighbors will be able to enjoy themselves, have a beer, watch a game or listen to live music." That live music will be coming from the space that was once a tiki bar; when it's not occupied by bands, it will be a lounge with cozy seating to augment the high-tops and community table in the main bar. The contents of the tiki bar have moved to the in-the-works Colfax Museum, at 6851 West Colfax Avenue, where founder Jonny Barber is setting up his own tiki corner. Former Hangar owner Lorie Thomas contacted Barber before the bar was sold, and the new owners donated all the old decor. "Nothing went in the dumpster," Adam points out proudly. And that includes the amazing beer-can bomber that once hung over the bar and is already flying high at the Colfax Museum. Look for the EastFax Tap to be flying high by March 1, if not sooner.  There will be new signage out front, as well as a doorman greeting guests and checking IDs. The hours will be 3 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, with the bar pouring until midnight on. So, after having lived 23 years in USA, I can say for the first time that I finally have a bar that I can call "my bar". Friendly management, great selection of beers, djs and live music, lots of TVs, The patio is absolutely nice. I friend of mine hosted a party a few days ago. It went so well that I am hosting mine in one month. They also serve pizza and sometimes food trucks show up. read more
