This is your typical soulless, corporate chain restaurant that could be in any town in the United States. Having said that, suburban Americans are a funny bunch ... and it is also wildly popular. We went here with kids and I'd say on a Saturday night, 80% of the people here had kids. The music is played very loud ... so if your kids are misbehaving, it's not a huge deal. The music pretty much makes conversation tough but acts as a buffer for screaming children (or adults). The first thing is that the reservations system is absolutely a complete and utter shit show. They do this thing called 'call ahead' where you call the restaurant or go online and hold a spot. It's a turd of a system because it doesn't seem to work. We came in and waited almost 30 minutes and saw several others who checked in and came 10 minutes after get a table. When we asked the host, they said it was because they had 2 people in their group and we had 3 people. Yet they were all seated in the same section we eventually were at the exact same table size. Beyond that, when you walk into the restaurant there is a giant revolving door, which gives about 5 feet of clearance to the hostess stand. There were no less than 20 people waited in an area the size of a hotel elevator. And each time someone came in, there was basically nowhere to move and the door sometimes hit the people gathered in the small area to wait. I cannot imagine a planet on which this would not be some kind of fire code issue. Beyond the utter chaos and frustration of the check-in system, we were finally seated after 20 - 30 minutes. The waitress was clearly overworked. Very capable but spread too thin and a bit frazzled but helpful when she appeared. We ordered: - Smash burger. This was actually very good. At $18, it should be. 1 mile away is a Shake Shack and I'd say that Shake Shack is a slightly better burger (at 1/2 the price) but the fries at B.J's were better. - California Chicken Club. The chicken breast was grilled nicely and actually had a grilled flavour, which was good. The bacon could have been a bit crispier. Tomatoes seemed fresh. Guacamole was not fresh, likely, but better than mayonnaise. I'd order this again. - The side Wedge was pretty blah. There were literally two small bacon bits on it. The dressing probably came from an industrial-sized bucket and contained no blue cheese chunks. It may as well be ranch. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. Probably not much better than French fries as a side. - Brown Ale was pretty terrible. It tasted of alcohol and was not smooth at all. I'd probably get a national brand, if this was a good example of their house made beer. Overall, I have to admit the food was better than 99% of chain restaurants (Applebees, Chilis, TGIFriday, etc.) It was true comfort food and if your expectations are low ... and you need a place to take the kids, this won't be terrible. It's somewhere between a Chucky Cheese and a Tavern on the Square. The prices were high ... but we felt that we got what we paid for. read more

Great date night restaurant. Our service was top notch, food was tasty and exactly what we ordered.

I went by myself because I was craving the mac & cheese balls and was sad to find out that these are not freshly made. I bit into some kind of chunk of grizzle meat that was in edible that became lodged in between my teeth. Sitting at the bar, there was another lady who sat next to me who seemed to know all of the staff. For the next 45 minutes, I was forced to listen to all of their intimate gossip, including X-rated festivities that happened the weekend before. Came here for a girls lunch - Not busy- hostess and waitress were very nice, we sat in the enclosed front room near the bar.. I have been here twice before.. both times were OK .. hoping this time would be better.. it was, but not by much.. we decided to just share a few apps which looked DELICIOUS. The menu is a bit overwhelming and changes with the seasons.. we ordered mozzarella sticks, yum.. I wasn't a big fan of the dipping sauce, it was more of a paste than a tradional marinara.. the chicken pot stickers were AMAZING! Fries were good.. Mac and cheese balls were fantastic .. BUT I was so excited for the avocado spring rolls.. then totally let down.. they weren't good at all. Some of the wrap was overcooked and burnt while other parts of it was undercooked and soggy... The roll itself had a very acquired aftertaste. I'm not sure if it was the avocado or the other fillings.. It was not taken off our bill even though it was barely touched.. which we weren't going to make a fuss about. At first we got there and had a reservation and the table wasn't ready! Not a good start but then when seated our server June was amazing! We had a big party so there were a few meal mistakes but it was fixed properly. The sangria with prosecco cocktail they have is amazing! Food was good and warm when served! Some items eaten BJ Brewhouse burger, jambalaya (very hot fyi), chicken Parmesan, mahi taco ( delicious) ..Some ordered desert cookies and the plate was emptied! Just did a curbside order - we were craving BJs today! My husband ordered tri tip and chicken entree - chicken was good but the steak !!!!! Went here after work with coworkers and the food was okay at best, the drinks were excellent, lots to choose from! Our server seemed very overwhelmed and had three tables of 6 or more! My salad was bland and had the hardest avocados I've ever tried to eat. My advice is stop in for a beverage and nothing else. read more

We'd been here in the past year and thought "it's OK", but with so many other restaurants to try we hadn't been back. Until we were dining with a family. Seems their kids menu is a hit with the littles. For us big kids they offer several beers on tap, full bar, burgers, pizza and salads. The kids menu offers kid friendly mains such as chicken, pasta & pizza. Then they pick sides including apple sauce, fruit, mashed potato & broccoli among others. Plenty of options to keep them happy. Our party of seven, four adults and three children were sat in a boothe that would seat six adults. Not an ideal situation space wise. Also, getting in and out several times so the kids could use restrooms was a production. Our waitress was mostly MIA. Pleasant. Just unavailable. She did order the kids some snacks 'on the house'. Still, the food took so long to appear I took the kids for a walk around the building and did some shoe shopping with them next door. They also had kids menu activities. All this and still no food. The restaurant had maybe a dozen parties in house so maybe they had a huge take out order back log? No idea, but these poor kids were trying so hard to behave while hungry! They have plenty of shared parking. Reservations up to six can be made on their automated phone line. Over six, you have to speak to a staff member. They have a 'family bathroom' making it easy to bring all the kids at once. Food was just OK again. The salad greens were fresh, the blackened salmon well cooked, and plenty of additional salad items. The roasted Brussels in there however were both too hard and the smell and taste was not pleasant. My SO ordered a brisket and got a burger, which it seems is what it is...a burger topped w/brisket. He wasn't impressed. Plenty of fries on the side to share. For us, our first and second impressions make this spot mostly a pass for us. read more

We sat down at 6:30, left at 8:45. It was just my boyfriend and I. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm and I got the personal barbecue chicken for myself. We waited 30 minutes for appetizers, another 45 for our entrees, and another 30 for the dessert. My boyfriend's chicken parm was absolutely terrible. The chicken was rubbery and burnt. The pasta was no better. Our server inattentive and slow. A party of 3, being serviced by another one of the servers, sat down about 30 minutes after us and was able to get their food and leave before us. Went to BJ's today and were very impressed. Angela was a great waitress, the food was good and we met Tim, GM, and could see why. The restaurant runs like a clock. I had the fish tacos and they were excellent. My wife had the Mediterranean Chicken tacos which are her favorite. And whatever you do don't leave without trying a pizookie. Service - I'm not sure what the issue was today with our server but it took just over 20 mins before they came to our table. The hostess and another person did come during that time frame to assure us that are server would be right over. There was an issue with another table. Although we did like that they informed but it would've been easier for one of them just take our drink at least. It took almost an hour (52 mins) by the time we got our food to our table. One issue is that our server did not use a note pad or anything to take our orders. She had to come back to ask what did I order so she can out it in properly. Food - Always decent and never any issues typically. Today it was 5 of us and only one order was incorrect. My son asked for no cheese, no onions, add bacon, ketchup, and mustard to his jalapeño burger. Ambiance - always a nice experience. I used to really like BJ's back in the 20th century, but I haven't visited one since then.  Unfortunately, the friend I'd set out to dine with was a big BJ's fan, so I let her talk me into paying a visit to this location. I remembered liking their deep dish pizzas, so we ordered a BJ's Favorite Deep Dish pie to share; I also remembered really enjoying the Pizookies, so we got some of those too.  The pizza was a total disappointment; it was greasy and undercooked, with tasteless toppings and limp, unappealing crust.  I couldn't even finish one slice... On the other hand, the Pizookies were completely delicious!  If I'd actually remembered how good they are, I'd wouldn't have stayed away from BJ's for so long ;-) Service was fast and friendly, though a couple of times our server vanished without a trace when we needed something (i.e, napkins, silverware, etc.).  Left to my own devices, I doubt I'll pay BJ's another visit anytime soon, but on the off-chance I let a friend drag me here again, I'll be sure to remember to avoid their deep dish pizzas. read more

I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. The staff is over the top fantastic. The food is great. A large variety of stuff on the menu but not so much that you have trouble deciding. We stopped in for a beer and an appetizer. It's a chain restaurant but we thought get out of the cold and cozy up to the bar for a bit. Everyone was friendly enough. We sat down at a vacant spot at the bar that was dirty but promptly cleaned. The bartender got us menus and was pleasant enough. We ordered beers and decided on the great white deep dish pizza. It took quite a while to come out of the kitchen and it was lukewarm. The herbed tomatoes are chopped canned tomatoes and the mushrooms were super thin and dehydrated. It was ok and we were hungry. No one came back to check on us. I wouldn't get it again. The bartender was super busy the entire time but we just didn't get service- never gave us plates/utensils, never stopped to see how the pizza was (honestly I wanted to send it back to the oven - I bet it would have been better hot and the cheese melted), and never asked me if I wanted a second beer. The place may have been short staffed and everyone was hustling around. Place was loud and noisy. Seemed like a party atmosphere. A pretty good selection of available beers on tap. It's a skip unless you're looking for a pint. . There's a few other places around I'd probably consider first before returning back. read more

Such a bad experience. Came in on a Monday night to watch Monday Night Football + playoff baseball. NONE of the workers knew how to change the channel. And then the one guy who did (allegedly... it's hard to believe), comes over and put it on NBA Network.... The NBA season hasn't even started yet! It was so ridiculous that I thought I was dreaming. I mean, we're not talking about weird games/channels, the games were on ESPN and Fox... After 45+ minutes I left to watch at home. Never coming back. BJ's has been on my want to try list for a while now and I'm actually really surprised how good it was. Went for dinner on a Friday night and it was pretty busy, got sat at a high top at the bar right away which was nice. My server Jonathon was absolutely amazing from start to finish...he was perfectly attentive without being pushy and was fun to chat with. Started with the avocado egg rolls, 10/10 mmm. Patron margaritas were mixed perfectly, maybe too good considering I had 4 hehe. For dinner I had the lemon thyme chicken it was hot and delicious. Stole some bites of the man's chicken Parm..also so good. The menu has so much variety it was hard to chose I love how they have a little of everything. Taking off a star for 2 reasons. 1, I wish the margaritas came in a more "fun" glass I'm a sucker for fun unusual barware and the glass was basic. And 2, not a fan of the hostesses seating children and babies literally in the bar area. I'm over here on a sexy dinner date and right next to me is a family with an infant and 2 toddlers breaking dishes, crying..the mom's rifling through a diaper bag ..eehh not cute killed the vibe unfortunately. I came to BJs Brewhouse on the weekend, mostly to watch a game but also to indulge in their food. When we arrived, there was a bit of a wait, about 10 minutes, even though it was not packed. We were seated at a big high table on the indoor patio. I loved it because it was a bit secluded, near a TV, and meant for 6 people but there was only two of us so lots of room to spread things out. We started with an appetizer of ahi poke which was a small dish of avocado layered with ahi tuna and a side of wonton chips. I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I felt it was a bit bland and it was apparent the avocados were not fresh. As entrees, I had the BJs kickin chicken sandwich with an upgrade to sweet potato fries. The chicken was crispy but it was a bit dry and small compared to the size of the bun. The sauce was supposed to be spicy but it was not. The fries were good and I am glad I had these over regular fries. The buns were warm and well toasted. My friend ordered the prime rib weekend special meal which came with a prime rib, soup or salad, 2 sides, and a pizookie. For the soup, my friend had the chili and it was good, warm and tasty. The prime rib was cookie medium well so when it came out I was so impressed with the juiciness but also the perfect grill on it. For sides we had the mozzerella and tomato salad over a bed of arugula and topped with Parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegarette and maybe minced garlic. I enjoyed it although some parts were a bit salty but everything was fresh. The other side was mashed potatoes, and they were good. They do have a good selection of sides and premium sides (for an up charge). For dessert, we had the salted caramel pizookie and I was very impressed. It had parts with salted caramel chunks that were almost like toffee. The cookie was warm and soft and the ice cream melted so well. I was very happy with our food overall and the quality of service from our waitress. She was kind enough to change the TV right in front of us to the game we wanted to watch which made it even better. Parking is VERY easy because it's in a plaza with a big parking lot. read more

The bacon wings are amazing, I highly recommend them. The burger, a chicken sandwich and the Aji tuna salad are also wonderful. Let's talk about our server, Michelle. She was attentive, personable, and there whenever we needed anything without hovering, and always with a smile. Then we had piles of dirty plates in front of us for 30 minutes. I work in the restaurant industry so I understand it being busy, but that's like allowing someone to sit at a dirty table for 30 minutes. Service is awful. First off, i like to say my server was amazing and has nothing to do with her. My girlfriend and i order slow roasted sirloin shrimp and she got the slow roasted sirloin and chicken. We were told we can get it rare. Then the food came out by someone else and they had us cut the meat in front of us. It was not to our liking and he went on how it's pre-made. Then after our original server had told us they could have gave us to a rare the kitchen didn't want to find the peace and serve it to us because it was too much of a hassle and she apologized for it. Then our sides we completely wrong and didn't bring out everything. We were giving dirty utensils still with food left on them. We asked for a manger and she understood and said she was going to take both our entrees off so we were only going to pay for our appetizers and are to go order. The chicken was tender and decently seasoned, but the greens and fruit were soggy (maybe from being dressed too early?)
