Maybe could've been done in a nicer way, especially because I still tipped and covered the drink (and it was not busy in the slightest). They spend the next 45 minutes debating over bracelets and which ones se is going to buy off this guy out of a plastic bag on the bar. She finally let's me in on the 'secret'- they are prototypes so they can be sold real cheap. She bought about 5 off this guy! He was on cloud 9. I loved the whole interaction but not enough to buy those bootleg bracelets! This place is intriguing. A grill stored inside. A full fridge and the atm squished in a little cubby whole. The bar area is all see through glass where you have liquor stored next to dog bones! One leather recliner on their back patio. I had a meeting that landed right around the time I needed to head to the airport for my flight, so I got to the airport early, grabbed breakfast, and took my call from a table there. I went with two eggs any style (over medium), the chouriço, potato hash, and a couple slices of toast. Everything came out hot, and more importantly, everything was actually good. The hash is made with sweet potato and had a ton of flavor. It was nice and crispy with some good seasoning; exactly the kind of home fries I'm a sucker for. The chouriço had a nice char to it, and the menu lists toast as ciabatta, but what landed on my plate was sourdough, which I had zero complaints about. The one thing that could use some work was the service. There's a certain type of employee you run into at airport eateries; either someone who's genuinely happy to chat up strangers from all over the world, or someone who clearly drew the short straw that morning. This leaned toward the latter, at least at first. To be fair, the woman working seemed to be completely on her own during a stretch that was already pretty busy, and she did loosen up once more staff came in. Still, for a place that opens at 4am and sits in one of the busier sections of the terminal, the staffing model at peak hours feels like something worth taking a harder look at. The food was solid, the service has room to grow, but all in all, this is a great spot to grab a bite if you find yourself nibbly and waiting for a flight.
