The Gloria Gaynor was so ridic that I often think of it in my sleep. This was a cool take on experimental breakfast food that was so extravagant, I was reciting "I Will Survive" in my head as I was chomping away, actually thinking if I would actually be able to kill this hot mess of delight in one sitting. Simply put, The Gloria Gaynor is a mix of your favorite breakfast foods, minus the potatoes: soft, fluffy biscuits, topped with scrambled eggs, colby jack cheese, bacon, scallions, pickled jalapenos, drizzled with white gravy sauce. It was so, so divine. It felt like breakfast on a Thanksgiving morning. This is better than any of the straight-up robbery brunch prices you pay for crappy eggs--this IS brunch. Halfway through will probably leave you satiated but you'll want to continue finishing it because it is so damn good. I shared this with a friend and we both couldn't even get to the last biscuit. I did indeed survive, but it was deathly in the sense that I'm sitting here in my damn living room right now with my nasty-ass protein shake and desperately craving it from more than 1,500 miles away. Our order came at a timely matter and the one-man army running the truck was super nice and brought us our food. I was so ready to order 2 different things from the menu but I'm so glad we went with the Gloria Gaynor because it hit the spot and held me over until late dinner (9-hour difference). read more

OMG!! Very surprising to find a good home style biscuit with a creative twist that included gravy, sausage, cheese, eggs, bacon and seasoned!! The freshly squeezed OJ was good, too. I definitely recommend you try it when close by. Only have outdoor seating, it's a food truck!! Parking is a little weird, but worth it. We parked on the street diagonal from truck, no problems. read more

I will give this place a 3/5. But rating it 5/5 to show love. I did have a bad experience here a while ago. So that's why I can't give it a a 3/5. But I really respect this guy being a small business owner and trying to keep up with the crowd and some of the negative reviews he's received on here. Knowing this place is kind of "self operated" just made me change my whole view on this truck. My order had got lost in their system and popped up as a grub hub order and it took 27 minutes but the owner gave me a free orange juice and did apologize for the wait. Plus it was a busy morning. People leave bad reviews on here being upset. Over not having coffee or something stupid. Please give this place a try and give it a honest review. Don't just post ur emotions on a review and rage on a small business. read more

I've been at Biscuits + Groovy fan for a very long time! I was so happy to see that they have an adaptable all vegan menu. We ordered 5/22 and the biscuits were delicious. However, the ordering system was completely inefficient and definitely brought down the overall experience. We ordered online for pick up at 11:05 am. I called to confirm my order and they said it was good to go! I arrived at 11:10 am and there were probably 15 people in line. I asked if I had to wait in line for a pick up order and they said yes. We ended up waiting in line for 25 minutes just to get our pick up order... Many of the people in line were having the same problem. I've been in the service in the service industry for a while, so I understand the demand, but I think if they could have people pay online it could streamline the wait time. I would have loved to pick up my order from the back door on time. I hope there's someway they can separate to-go pickups from ordering in person so we don't have to wait half an our on a schedule to-go order next time. read more

Came here for a quick brunch before walking around Zilker and going to Barton Springs. It wasn't busy around 12pm and so we ordered right away. We got the biscuits + groovy. They were really accommodating with my switch of sausage to potatoes since I am pescatarian. We waited about ten minutes for our food. It came out really hot with lots of gravy, but the toppings felt skimpy- I wish it came with more potatoes. The gravy was very peppery and tasty! The serving was filling since it was three biscuits. This place is by far the BEST! Their biscuits and gravy are so delicious! We always get the Johnny hash and the toppings really make it become the best! The biscuits just kind of melt in your mouth, there is so much flavor. You can get a half or full order, but always go with the full! It's just way too good not to finish. Been going here for over 3 years now and couldn't be happier to keep going back to such a groovy place! They are pretty fast, even when they are busy! I love biscuits and gravy so when Biscuits + Groovy came up across multiple searches, I was excited to try. I had the Johnny Hash, and hubby had the loaded breakfast (Gluten Free - Eggs, Potato and all the fixin's). The biscuits were light and fluffy and the toppings made it fun. The gravy, however, lacked flavor; and with a name like Biscuits + Groovy I was really hoping for some special groovy gravy. The orange juice is fresh squeezed -- definitely worth getting. PS, they make GF biscuits for special events/catering only. PSS, they also make/jar their jam for sale. We brought home the Peach Bourbon and it is delicious! $5 per jar. read more

Verrrry cool trailer! Yes! Trailer! I'm not from Austin, so I won't begin to describe how to find this place. GOOGLE MAPS is going to be your best friend. THE STAFF: Extremely friendly! THE FOOD: It's biscuits made all kinds of ways. I think I had the Johnny Hash (see photo). We ate there, which is at a picnic table outside the trailer. Very cool! It was three open biscuits, covered with cheese, potatoes, bacon and gravy. It's crazy how something so simple can be so good! If you're ever in Austin, you have to check this place out! This was one of our stops on a food tour. Perfect place for a simple and hearty breakfast! We got The Johnny. CHECK UR ORDER B 4 U WALK AWAY - ordered the MC online (takes about 25 min to be ready so order ahead when you can) Order wasn't ready upon arrival. In addition I requested gravy on the side as I dont typically finish the entire meal at once. Got home to find I had NO gravy and was V disappointed. I wrote this as a tip but I think it warrants repeating - everything can be made vegetarian or vegan including the gravy! Great plate of fluffy biscuits with all the trimmings and toppings you could want with biscuits. We walked a good amount from South Congress to get there but it was worth it. Price point won't hurt the wallet and your tummy will definitely be satisfied. read more

This is on the way to my daughter's daycare so I've been wanting to check it out. I was always too early before. On the day where I didn't stop, I saw that they were open. I told myself that I would wait the next time and I did. This truck is in a food truck court right next to Moon Tower. The service was great. They are so very nice. They do not take American Express but they do take everything else. I got mines to go because I had to get to work eventually. I got the donna. The menu online is old I believe. It's $9 now. The order is huge, I knew this ordering it. I knew I should have gotten the MC Hammer but I wanted to see what their layout looks like. The biscuit were fluffy and delicious. The gravy was meh. The eggs were eggs. The sausage was skimpy. It's definitely better than say, Chickfila's biscuits and gravy. I would come back here whenever I get a biscuit and gravy craving. Definitely get here early! They run out of things near closing. I got the Donna but subbed the sausage for bacon. (They were out of sausage when we got there at 1:30 anyways) The Donna was 3 biscuits, 3 scrambled eggs, peppered gravy, Colby jack cheese and in my case maple bacon. I really enjoyed how soft and fluffy the biscuits were and how crunchy and good the bacon was. However those were the only things I throughly enjoyed. The gravy was very buttermilky. Personally I like it when my gravy has a little bit of a bolder flavor. It did have a good consistency. The eggs were your typical scrambled eggs. Personally I felt like the dish had too much eggs and too less bacon. The food is a lot so I would share it with someone. It also makes it less pricey. Overall the meal was not bad. If you're looking for something hearty for breakfast this is a good place to go. read more

Tasty biscuits that are filling and fresh. I ordered the MC Hammer and the daily biscuit and jam, which was carrot cake. At first when I saw my biscuit with the carrot cake jam I was nervous it was not going to be good. That carrot cake jam was FRIGGIN AMAZING. It wasn't too sweet and the shaved carrots added a nice consistency. I wanted to order another one but I was stuffed and didn't want to overeat. The MC Hammer was delish and also filling. I personally don't think I could eat one if the bigger biscuits because they are pretty huge. Overall I loved the biscuits. The seating in the hot Texas sun is the Pitts. I'll definitely come back and try more of their daily jam, I was impressed with carrot cake so it pays to be adventurous :-) read more

These guys got it. If you LOVE biscuits and gravy... Come Here!! Boom blew up my hunger! The Mac hammer looked good. But screw that I'm all in with the Gloria and oh damn they did not disappoint. We came here on Sunday morning because all the other brunch places had over an hour wait, and this did the job! The concept of the food is simple-- biscuits, gravy, and toppings, but it was good. The MC Hammer is an affordable option that works for people who have a small appetite like me. Personally, I don't eat pork so I got the vegan sausage which tasted good but the vegan bacon tasted like plastic... I don't recommend. Overall, this is an average place for a casual bite! Walked to the food truck from our hotel, well worth every step!! As a NC girl who knows a thing or two about biscuits and gravy, these biscuits were pretty darn good. Biscuits + groovy was a cool trailer with some tasty biscuits. They have parking near the trailer and tons of seating but I think only 2 tables were covered seating. The wait time to receive our order was less then 5 minutes and the staff was super nice. The biscuits are thick and fluffy and the gravy was flavorful but not too overpowering. It's a cool brunch/breakfast place and the orange juice is BOMB! Definitely freshly made and was super sweet yet tangy and yummy. Yummm Stopped here right when it opened at 0830 on Saturday. Got the Gloria and it was fantastic. ALERT! Good size portion and gets you full. Tasty biscuits, jam packed with sausage, bacon, green onion, jalapeno, cheese and smothered with gravy. So delicious. Also got the MC Hammer... Perfect portion for the smaller appetite. This trailer is probably one of the most unique ones in Austin, mainly because the menu seems basic with the main ingredient being biscuits. Plates are named after 70s R&B queens. This place was soooo delicious! Perfect comfort breakfast. I had the Johnny Cash made vegan, it was great, however in my opinion was a little short on gravy vs my boyfriends plate, and I wish it has mashed potatoes on it. But the biscuits were super moist and fluffy. The flavors were great although there was something sweet in mine I would have preferred not to have, maybe it was the cheese. My boyfriend had the Donna Summer- not vegan. He also thought it was amazing. Great spot. Service was superb. Two portions and two waters were about $22, which for the portion sizes was fine. read more

None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.
