I've been coming here for five years, and I always get the vegan Gloria add potatoes. Truly my favorite restaurant!
Great vegan options for strictly biscuits and gravy with different fixins. Got the Gloria and it was delicious. Very creamy, rich, and filling. This is a food truck with outdoor seating. When youre in Austin and craving biscuits and gravy with vegan options, this is your spot!!!!
Stopped here for a breakfast snack since the place had excellent reviews on yelp! Got a regular biscuit with vegan sausage, eggs and cheese. It was called the Hammer. The biscuits were moist and it was quite cheesy with chives sprinkled on the top but the vegan sausage was not it. There's too many great options these days for vegan sausage for restaurants to still to be using stuff that tastes like MorningStar. The service was quick although disappointed that he couldn't do just egg whites. And the ambience is outdoor seating with a cool funky vibe. I would definitely try it again just minus the vegan sausage.
Great food truck with even greater food!! We all ordered the hammer ($4.95) and for $5 it will fill you up. I like how they have the option of putting the gravy on the side or on top. The service was slightly slow but that's only because it was only one person- def worth the wait. The seating area is full of sun so it's such a good way to get in some fresh air. It lacked a little flavor/salt- but it makes up for it in the value, quantity, & amount.
I never considered myself to be a huge fan of biscuits, but my taste has certainly changed in the past few years. This food truck is so delicious. It's definitely a bit pricey for just biscuits and gravy, but you can order them however you'd like! Add some green onion, bacon, egg, cheese, and sausage. It's such a filling breakfast. There's plenty of parking and the workers are really nice! It's probably a good thing that it's so far from my apartment because I can see myself craving biscuits from here all the time.
This was a delicious meal. So tasty. Hope to get back soon. Plenty of parking and seating too.
Yum yum yum!! I still dream about Biscuits & Groovy, days after my trip to Austin has concluded! I came here as a stop on a brunch walking tour (we tried a total of 3 places) and this was by far my favorite stop! We tried the Gloria Gaynor and man was it delicious. The biscuits were perfectly warm and soft. They served as the perfect base for all the great toppings - eggs, gravy, bacon, jalapeño, cheese... love it all! My only heads up - we came during an especially hot morning in Austin... there is some seating out by the food truck, but not a lot of shade. Make sure you're prepared!
Service was quick & woman working the truck had an amazing personality! Food was okay, was not a fan of the sausage at all & picked it all out. Biscuits great, soft and hot. Gravy didn't have much flavor, so glad I had jalapeños and stuff on here to try and balance out.
Easy parking with lots of spaces. It's by another food truck (a taco one) as well if you want options. You can order the food at the QR at each table. Quick wait and they bring the food out to you. Lots of seating with some shade. Very hearty portions for an affordable price. I got the Donna which is a huge portion of biscuits, cheese, sausage, eggs, and gravy. It could probably feed two people if you're not that hungry. It's very heavy and might put you in a food coma later. The biscuits were very soft and warm, and the whole meal was covered in cheese. The sausage was a little bit small but was pretty tasty. Overall if you're looking for biscuits and gravy, this is a nice outdoor, no fuss option.
Went here alone on my birthday to treat myself to a gut bomb to start the day. It was awesome. Nothing fancy but the gravy was fantastic and the orange juice was yummy. Got the Biscuits + Groovy with bacon. So good!
Biscuits & Groovy Location: The location is great and includes benches for seating. It is situated near Barton Springs. Ambiance: The atmosphere is casual, with a food truck vibe and outdoor seating available. Food: 6.5/10 loved the johnny cash! Service: Average, we did online order but friendly! Definitely will be coming back! Loved me some Biscuits & Groovy!

Pretty yummy!!! Came on a HOT Saturday around lunchtime and it seems like everyone else had the same idea. The setup is a food truck in a parking lot with some picnic tables as seating. Some have umbrellas for shade and some don't. You stand in line to order at the truck, then they give you a number to place on your table and someone brings your food to your table. You can also opt for takeout. They have a bunch of "three biscuit breakfast" options but I thought that it was way too much food, so I just opted for the bee gee, which is one biscuit with butter and jam. For the jam you can choose grape, strawberry, or jam of the day. I was in luck because the jam of the day was bananas foster. Obviously I had to get that! (Let's ignore the fact that I only learned what bananas foster was the other day.) It was $1.50 and delicious. read more

Let's be clear, none of the attributes of a good biscuit (flaky, buttery, fluffy, layered, golden brown) will be found here. The biscuits are not good. That being said, this place is totally fun. The menu is comprised of only six items, each building on the previous in complexity and culminating in a mountain of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, jalapeños, cheese, and chives. What will keep me going back for more is that any one of those six menu items can be modified to be either vegetarian or vegan. For instance, their sausage gravy can me ordered in one of three ways: one with actual sausage, another with fake sausage but real butter, and a third with no animal products whatsoever. And for offering such versatility to accommodate so many dietary options, I will love Biscuits + Groovy forever. read more

I was really skeptical when my friend told me about Biscuits and Groovy. Sure, biscuits with gravy and breakfast-y toppings sounds good but how could it be something noteworthy? Well...it is and it's hard to explain. My friend and I came here and shared a Gloria Gaynor which has biscuits, gravy, egg, jalapenos, and cheese (they offer to throw in an extra biscuit for free if you're sharing between two people which was really nice). We didn't wait long until our food was ready and it looked so good. There was so much food that it was actually a little heavy to hold. The dish is something much much greater than the sum of its ingredients. The biscuits are fluffy and not dry at all, the gravy isn't too salty but is still flavorful, and the eggs are cooked well. When you get a bite that has a bit of everything, you'll understand. read more

My friends and I came here for a casual lunch after landing in Austin and had a great meal! It was pretty hot out so I did wish there was an indoor space to eat in, but we sat at a table in the shade so it wasn't too bad. I got the Donna Summers (three buttermilk biscuits smothered in white pepper gravy topped with sausage and chives, with three scrambled eggs and colby jack cheese). I substituted the vegan sausage which was super flavorful. The portion size was huge - I was only able to eat about half before I got super full! While the toppings were super good, the biscuits themselves weren't quite as fluffy as I was expecting. Overall it was a solid lunch with leftovers for breakfast on a later morning! read more

I know what your thinking.. what's so great about biscuits and gravy? That's how I felt till I tried this place. Let me tell you this, this place is amazing but more amazing if you kinda drank a little or hung over because it is the best comfort food. It is amazing during the cold weather too. Warms you right up. I get the one with everything in it called the gloria gaynor. A lot of Jalapenos, sausage, gravy, cheese, eggs, etc. Its not salty and just right. It's so warm and pretty filling! If you are sharing with someone, they add in an extra biscuit for free if you want. It doesn't sound like much but I promise you, this will change your life haha. I always try to come down here when I am in Austin and get myself one of these for breakfast! read more

quick & delicious breakfast recommendation! one of my favorite quick bites in town! look for their food truck on barton! pictured is the johnny (bacon, potatoes, colby jack, pepper, and chives) read more
Well butter my biscuit. A cursory glance at this menu might turn herbivores off, but WAIT! Everything can be veganized, from the eggs to the cheese and of course, those flaky, buttery biscuits. They're the ultimate brunch or breakfast, especially if you're indecisive like me. You can get everything all in one loaded forkful, no compromises, no judgement. I just wish they were open a bit later for those of us who aren't early birds. read more

So yummy!! We always saw a huge line as we drove by and knew it had to be good. Finally tried it today! We got the Gloria with potatoes and it was very good. We visited Biscuits and Groovy on Saturday morning when we happened to be in the area. The food trailer is located on Barton Springs near S. Lamar across from Peter Pan mini golf. It's a prime location if you ask me. As we enjoyed our breakfast, I was surprised to see the consistent business they were getting and they operated like a well oiled machine. We didn't have to wait very long for our food at all. I ordered the Johnny, husband got the Gloria and the kid got the Bee Gee. The Johnny has potatoes, no eggs and all the other stuff. It was good. I tasted my husbands too and I think I enjoyed his even more. The eggs were cooked perfectly and it was a little lighter on the gravy which I preferred. The biscuits themselves were the slightly fluffy and not too dense. Overall we enjoyed our breakfast here and will definitely be back to explore more of the menu! read more
Okay I heard a lot about this spot and was disappointed to find that the food was not as good as it was hyped. First off we got there on a Sunday at noon and it was soo busy. Our wait was probably 30-45 minutes only to get food that was pretty mediocre. They forgot to add chives on our meal too. I will say that the person manning the food truck said they were short a staff member, but I was still disappointed. read more

YES YES YES! I love Biscuits, I love breakfast, this one one of the places on the tour of Austin my friend brought me to. I went with The Johnny - I was not disappointed. The morning we went it was kind of chilly, they do have picnic tables if you want to eat on the spot. We took ours to go and I thought it was delicious and everything I want in a breakfast. read more
Giving it 3 stars it was tasty..,but it nothing out of this world that would make me want to come back for sure for sure. The quality of the biscuits is good and soft I had the Johnny which brings some bacon bits, sausage , chives, potatoes, Colby But the dish is more biscuit and gravy and very little of the actual protein it's self If they were not to be frugal with the proteins or would be a even biscuit to protein ratios than I would give it a better review I've been to other biscuit bars, dives, restaurants and for the same price or less have better value and flavor over all This food truck was cute and all Just the food a bit on the average taste and quality read more
Meh. Just way too overpriced. I tried the Johnny Hash. It was very greasy. I needed a lot of sriracha to help me get some flavor. The biscuits were soft and well baked. There was A LOT of gravy and cheese. It does get you full but I'm thinking it was because of all the gravy. There wasn't a lot of bacon pieces and just a few potatoes. For brunch, it was kind of a disappointment. read more

Thanks for still being open during this covid period! My friend and I made a phone call to order the food and the staff told us the food would be ready 15 mins later. - The food was yummy, just a little bit heavy when it started to cool down. - the estimated time didn't work. We were there waiting for another 15 mins My friend had the regular one (no cheese) with potato. I think his was better LOL Fried potato definitely made it more flavorful. After all it's coronavirus time, no dining in anymore means u cannot enjoy the food at its most delicious moment... read more

They also have a vegan menu which is so awesome especially because I am dairy free and it still taste so amazing! After reading the reviews, I was expecting a good meal. However, the biscuits were hard and chewy (the texture you get after you microwave a piece of bread) and the sauce was thick and gloopy... I've had much better biscuits and gravy at any other breakfast place :( read more

My Bobcat was returning me to the airport after I had visited San Marcos for a couple of days, and we saw Biscuits & Groovy on the Google map search. It was close enough to be on the way-ish to AUS, so we followed the directions to get there without really reading anything about the restaurant. Imagine our surprise when the "you have arrived" pin showed up at a dog store. We looked at one another as I exclaimed, "We just traveled 25 miles for DOG BISCUITS!" Between our peals of laughter, Son continued to drive through the parking lot where we saw the ACTUAL food TRUCK! (Note to self: read the details when going to New restaurants). It was a dreary wet morning so the benches were all soaked even though there were temporary shade tarps overhead. The person was kind enough to give me a plastic bag to sit my fanny down on, and once we ordered the (human) Biscuits and gravy we were happy to be there and enjoy the food. I'm sensitive to too much spice, and there were good options for both of us. The MC Hammer and basic Biscuits and gravy hit the spot and were exactly as expected. I'd go there again... especially knowing what to look for. read more

I wanted breakfast so I Yelped around and came across this place. Stopped by Tuesday, the 26th of May and the guy cashier was super nice and really helpful. I ordered The Gloria which tasted phenomenal. Biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, jalepenos, the best combo low key. I was expecting my stomach to hurt more, but surprisingly, it wasn't too bad. You could definitely share this plate with someone, unless you had the munchies like me lol read more

The Gloria Gaynor was so ridic that I often think of it in my sleep. This was a cool take on experimental breakfast food that was so extravagant, I was reciting "I Will Survive" in my head as I was chomping away, actually thinking if I would actually be able to kill this hot mess of delight in one sitting. Simply put, The Gloria Gaynor is a mix of your favorite breakfast foods, minus the potatoes: soft, fluffy biscuits, topped with scrambled eggs, colby jack cheese, bacon, scallions, pickled jalapenos, drizzled with white gravy sauce. It was so, so divine. It felt like breakfast on a Thanksgiving morning. This is better than any of the straight-up robbery brunch prices you pay for crappy eggs--this IS brunch. Halfway through will probably leave you satiated but you'll want to continue finishing it because it is so damn good. I shared this with a friend and we both couldn't even get to the last biscuit. I did indeed survive, but it was deathly in the sense that I'm sitting here in my damn living room right now with my nasty-ass protein shake and desperately craving it from more than 1,500 miles away. Our order came at a timely matter and the one-man army running the truck was super nice and brought us our food. I was so ready to order 2 different things from the menu but I'm so glad we went with the Gloria Gaynor because it hit the spot and held me over until late dinner (9-hour difference). read more
