Found a hair in my food once I got near the end. It was just chillan beneath the eggs. Really the only reason for the 3 stars. Otherwise, it would've been 5. I love supporting local businesses but the hair was not cool. Environment seemed pretty chill. Ppl were nice. read more

Pretty yummy!!! Came on a HOT Saturday around lunchtime and it seems like everyone else had the same idea. The setup is a food truck in a parking lot with some picnic tables as seating. Some have umbrellas for shade and some don't. You stand in line to order at the truck, then they give you a number to place on your table and someone brings your food to your table. You can also opt for takeout. They have a bunch of "three biscuit breakfast" options but I thought that it was way too much food, so I just opted for the bee gee, which is one biscuit with butter and jam. For the jam you can choose grape, strawberry, or jam of the day. I was in luck because the jam of the day was bananas foster. Obviously I had to get that! (Let's ignore the fact that I only learned what bananas foster was the other day.) It was $1.50 and delicious. read more

Let's be clear, none of the attributes of a good biscuit (flaky, buttery, fluffy, layered, golden brown) will be found here. The biscuits are not good. That being said, this place is totally fun. The menu is comprised of only six items, each building on the previous in complexity and culminating in a mountain of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, jalapeños, cheese, and chives. What will keep me going back for more is that any one of those six menu items can be modified to be either vegetarian or vegan. For instance, their sausage gravy can me ordered in one of three ways: one with actual sausage, another with fake sausage but real butter, and a third with no animal products whatsoever. And for offering such versatility to accommodate so many dietary options, I will love Biscuits + Groovy forever. read more

I was really skeptical when my friend told me about Biscuits and Groovy. Sure, biscuits with gravy and breakfast-y toppings sounds good but how could it be something noteworthy? Well...it is and it's hard to explain. My friend and I came here and shared a Gloria Gaynor which has biscuits, gravy, egg, jalapenos, and cheese (they offer to throw in an extra biscuit for free if you're sharing between two people which was really nice). We didn't wait long until our food was ready and it looked so good. There was so much food that it was actually a little heavy to hold. The dish is something much much greater than the sum of its ingredients. The biscuits are fluffy and not dry at all, the gravy isn't too salty but is still flavorful, and the eggs are cooked well. When you get a bite that has a bit of everything, you'll understand. read more

My friends and I came here for a casual lunch after landing in Austin and had a great meal! It was pretty hot out so I did wish there was an indoor space to eat in, but we sat at a table in the shade so it wasn't too bad. I got the Donna Summers (three buttermilk biscuits smothered in white pepper gravy topped with sausage and chives, with three scrambled eggs and colby jack cheese). I substituted the vegan sausage which was super flavorful. The portion size was huge - I was only able to eat about half before I got super full! While the toppings were super good, the biscuits themselves weren't quite as fluffy as I was expecting. Overall it was a solid lunch with leftovers for breakfast on a later morning! read more

I know what your thinking.. what's so great about biscuits and gravy? That's how I felt till I tried this place. Let me tell you this, this place is amazing but more amazing if you kinda drank a little or hung over because it is the best comfort food. It is amazing during the cold weather too. Warms you right up. I get the one with everything in it called the gloria gaynor. A lot of Jalapenos, sausage, gravy, cheese, eggs, etc. Its not salty and just right. It's so warm and pretty filling! If you are sharing with someone, they add in an extra biscuit for free if you want. It doesn't sound like much but I promise you, this will change your life haha. Well butter my biscuit. A cursory glance at this menu might turn herbivores off, but WAIT! Everything can be veganized, from the eggs to the cheese and of course, those flaky, buttery biscuits. They're the ultimate brunch or breakfast, especially if you're indecisive like me. You can get everything all in one loaded forkful, no compromises, no judgement. We visited Biscuits and Groovy on Saturday morning when we happened to be in the area. The food trailer is located on Barton Springs near S. Lamar across from Peter Pan mini golf. It's a prime location if you ask me. As we enjoyed our breakfast, I was surprised to see the consistent business they were getting and they operated like a well oiled machine. We didn't have to wait very long for our food at all. I ordered the Johnny, husband got the Gloria and the kid got the Bee Gee. The Johnny has potatoes, no eggs and all the other stuff. It was good. I tasted my husbands too and I think I enjoyed his even more. The eggs were cooked perfectly and it was a little lighter on the gravy which I preferred. The biscuits themselves were the slightly fluffy and not too dense. Overall we enjoyed our breakfast here and will definitely be back to explore more of the menu! read more

Okay I heard a lot about this spot and was disappointed to find that the food was not as good as it was hyped. First off we got there on a Sunday at noon and it was soo busy. Our wait was probably 30-45 minutes only to get food that was pretty mediocre. They forgot to add chives on our meal too. I will say that the person manning the food truck said they were short a staff member, but I was still disappointed. read more

This is my absolute FAVORITE place to grab a fun morning breakfast in austin! Yes it's a little food truck but do not let that deceive you, this truck has the absolute best biscuits and gravy combinations and they are to die for, I literally crave this place!! They also have a vegan menu which is so awesome especially because I am dairy free and it still taste so amazing! Giving it 3 stars it was tasty..,but it nothing out of this world that would make me want to come back for sure for sure. The quality of the biscuits is good and soft I had the Johnny which brings some bacon bits, sausage , chives, potatoes, Colby But the dish is more biscuit and gravy and very little of the actual protein it's self If they were not to be frugal with the proteins or would be a even biscuit to protein ratios than I would give it a better review I've been to other biscuit bars, dives, restaurants and for the same price or less have better value and flavor over all This food truck was cute and all Just the food a bit on the average taste and quality read more

Meh. Just way too overpriced. I tried the Johnny Hash. It was very greasy. I needed a lot of sriracha to help me get some flavor. The biscuits were soft and well baked. There was A LOT of gravy and cheese. It does get you full but I'm thinking it was because of all the gravy. There wasn't a lot of bacon pieces and just a few potatoes. My friend and I made a phone call to order the food and the staff told us the food would be ready 15 mins later. - The food was yummy, just a little bit heavy when it started to cool down. - the estimated time didn't work. My Bobcat was returning me to the airport after I had visited San Marcos for a couple of days, and we saw Biscuits & Groovy on the Google map search. It was close enough to be on the way-ish to AUS, so we followed the directions to get there without really reading anything about the restaurant. Imagine our surprise when the "you have arrived" pin showed up at a dog store. We looked at one another as I exclaimed, "We just traveled 25 miles for DOG BISCUITS!" Between our peals of laughter, Son continued to drive through the parking lot where we saw the ACTUAL food TRUCK! (Note to self: read the details when going to New restaurants). It was a dreary wet morning so the benches were all soaked even though there were temporary shade tarps overhead. The person was kind enough to give me a plastic bag to sit my fanny down on, and once we ordered the (human) Biscuits and gravy we were happy to be there and enjoy the food. I'm sensitive to too much spice, and there were good options for both of us. The MC Hammer and basic Biscuits and gravy hit the spot and were exactly as expected. I wanted breakfast so I Yelped around and came across this place. Stopped by Tuesday, the 26th of May and the guy cashier was super nice and really helpful. I ordered The Gloria which tasted phenomenal. Biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, jalepenos, the best combo low key. I was expecting my stomach to hurt more, but surprisingly, it wasn't too bad. You could definitely share this plate with someone, unless you had the munchies like me lol read more

Bottom line: just okay biscuits, good gravy. I had the Bee Gee. I asked for the jam and butter on the side but it arrived all together. The biscuit wasn't warm so the butter wasn't melted at all. The Gloria Gaynor was so ridic that I often think of it in my sleep. This was a cool take on experimental breakfast food that was so extravagant, I was reciting "I Will Survive" in my head as I was chomping away, actually thinking if I would actually be able to kill this hot mess of delight in one sitting. Simply put, The Gloria Gaynor is a mix of your favorite breakfast foods, minus the potatoes: soft, fluffy biscuits, topped with scrambled eggs, colby jack cheese, bacon, scallions, pickled jalapenos, drizzled with white gravy sauce. It was so, so divine. It felt like breakfast on a Thanksgiving morning. This is better than any of the straight-up robbery brunch prices you pay for crappy eggs--this IS brunch. Halfway through will probably leave you satiated but you'll want to continue finishing it because it is so damn good. I shared this with a friend and we both couldn't even get to the last biscuit. I did indeed survive, but it was deathly in the sense that I'm sitting here in my damn living room right now with my nasty-ass protein shake and desperately craving it from more than 1,500 miles away. Our order came at a timely matter and the one-man army running the truck was super nice and brought us our food. I was so ready to order 2 different things from the menu but I'm so glad we went with the Gloria Gaynor because it hit the spot and held me over until late dinner (9-hour difference). read more

We met the rudest person in the city. I was shocked because everyone in Austin has been so nice. He works here. IF I COULD GIVE A MINUS 10, I would. First time to this tiny food truck. No one was at the window and i called for assistance but no answer. Went to the back to call and the guy yelled and was extremely RUDE. What a jerk!! The sauce was extremely rich, making it difficult to enjoy or finish the meal. That said, the restaurant itself is adorable, and our waiter was fantastic. The service and atmosphere were both great. While this breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I'll still return and stick with favorites like the fried green tomatoes and taquito salad, which were excellent during my previous visit.

One thing I love is that they switch up the steak portion of the menu a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Right now they have the steak au poivre, which is incredible, although I'm still craving their steak frites and hoping it makes a comeback. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.
