As a precious Marylander, I was hesitant to try the crab but settled for a breakfast sandwich, which the chef said was their most popular item. I could've gotten it with avocado, bacon or sausage. I chose sausage. Y'all this sandwich was soooo good. Idk what it was exactly but it was the best breakfast sandwich I've had in a long while. The Marylander is located in my neighborhood in the Webberville Food Truck Park. They have crabcakes, wings, crabcake sandwiches, brekkie stuff, etc. However, I decided I NEEDED (and I really did) the Old Bay French Toast. HOLY CHANTILLY CREAM, gang. It was AMAZEBALLS. French toast with berries, and you guessed it, Chantilly cream, vanilla brioche bread, with Old Bay in the batter. I swear to you my head went into a tailspin of flowing, mystical vibes and rainbows and unicorns as I ate that indulgent breakfast. One of the best crab cakes I've had in Austin, including the ones at the fancy steakhouses -- it's all crab, very little batter, legitimately delicious when it hits your mouth. Yes, it's kinda pricey but beats the cycle of spending money on mediocre food delivery as we do. Even the side fruit and the lettuce/tomato were fresh and tasty, none of that courtesy side produce that makes you feel sad on the inside and question just how much they actu care. As Maryland natives, my friend and I had to go support the new food truck at Webberville, The Marylander. We went during their soft open and received free orange crushes and when we told the owner we were from MD, he gave us free stickers too. Friendly service in cute area surrounded by other food trucks and a market was going on too. We ordered the benedict, the crab dip, and also had to pick up some black & white cookies. We enjoyed the MD flair on the truck and surrounding it, it made us very happy to have a piece of home in TX. The food was delicious and topped with that Old Bay we love! I just returned from my Marylander food truck lunch. I have mixed emotions about the experience. My order was for a crab cake, and wings. The wings were crispy, large, and had great flavor. The crab cake is more like a baby crab cake, and for $24 presents very poor value. The cake quality and flavor are top notch, but the portion needs some work. So glad the Marylander has arrived in Austin!! I grew up a town over from the owner and finally got to visit the truck today. Husband enjoyed the crab cake (could use a little more salt or old bay) and I devoured the pit beef sandwich - excellent portion size for $12, and super juicy and delicious. zero complaints whatsoever. The potato salad tastes just like home, and the elote was a fun surprise. We are hanging onto our old bay cookie for evening dessert. The folks working were super sweet and also gave us free smith island baby cakes, after we discussed our mutual love of Berger cookies (which I had shipped to Arizona to be wedding favors, to show my loyalty). Loved this spot - will be back, and hoping to meet some more MD-natives on return trips!! And love the tiny MD flags ... they are tugging at all the heart strings here. read more

The food is exceptional, ordered Pit Beef sando, crab cake, crab dip, crab bene, crab quiche (special), Old Bay Butter Wings. Every dish was awesome, full of flavor, and they don't skimp on the crab. The wait was a bit longer than expected (50 minutes) but it was well worth the wait. They will txt you when your order is ready so you don't have to stand there and wait. I would say the $24 price tag on a hockey puck sized cake (and literally nothing else except one little limp lettuce leaf and a small portion of sauce) is way too overpriced. It was full of crab, sure, but in the end, it wasn't crispy where it should have been crispy, it was too salty, it took over 20 minutes from order to eating. The free beer was nice / but was far from cold. Not enjoyable. Even at $12, I would say it was overpriced for what you get. Kick it up a notch, The Marylander. Make it spectacular for the spectacular price range. It's a unique segment in the food truck world and you've got a great opportunity. Throw in a side or two for $24 at least.
