I ate here when they first opened and was thrilled with the food, prices and service. Everything has gone downhill since then. I put half and half in my coffee and it immediately curdled. It makes you wonder what else is not fit for consumption. Portions have grown until it is completely ridiculous as one meal would feed 2-3 people. Prices have increased faster than food portions. The menu has changed so much that it is a joke. It's like they have contests to come up with ridiculous combinations where maybe one four of it is edible. I'm not sure what to say about this place. They tell you right on the top of the menu "The only thing that matters is size." I didn't think they meant it. I ordered "chicken and a biscuit", which is "maple glazed fried chicken" on a biscuit with egg and gravy. One would think this is crispy, beautifully fried chicken. When it arrived to the table, I found cafeteria chicken strips on a surprisingly bad biscuit - despite the name of the restaurant. It was also not hot. My wife had the biscuit french toast side with her meal. It was just a deep fried biscuit, didn't resemble french toast at all. We came here not to long ago and while we heard so many good things about this place I was a little underwhelmed...partially due to not having great service and almost could take it down another star based off of this. But the food was pretty good and for me didn't live up to all the hype. Both my wife and I found our food under seasoned and lacking flavor. Our daughter had the avocado toast with a side of fruit and while good the value vs the cost was not in proportion. Inside the restaurant is typical with both and tables. The place was clean and the day we were there they were busier but the bus boys/girls were absolutely hustling. This was our 2nd visit to B & H with friends from our neighborhood. We were all seated fairly quickly after a 9:20 arrival but the place filled up as the AM progressed. We all order different breakfasts and here is the nitty gritty, nuts and bolts of the visit. Pros - good wait staff, attentive and responsive / Good parking / friendly / menu options / quick delivery of food / food portions large. Cons - overpriced, for what you get .. food on this day was not hot, flies a plenty inside for some reason causing distraction and irritation / Noisy, the metal ceilings cause echoes and with larger parties .. like a concert and an ensuing shouting match to talk / Not clean, food bits on the floor when we first arrived .. opted to move on our own accord to another table due to the mess / average quality of food was OK. read more

We have been here twice. First time we had the breakfast. Waffles, bacon pancakes etc. The service was good and attentive. The food was ok-nothing to write home about. A few months later we tried to come in on a Sunday for brunch and the place was slammed- 45 min wait (heads up). We skipped it and went to a restaurant next door. Next time we came it was for lunch. We were seated in the booths next to the bar/kitchen area. They had a basket of neglected books that had seen better days by the door. It would have been a nice touch since we had our kids. Kids had the burgers. We had the cob salad and burger. The food again was just ok. My salad was missing the egg and I had to flag down our server. Was told they were out of boiled eggs. Our server thought it would only take a min to cook one but he came back with the sad news that it would be taking a little longer (yeah ‍)...No comp for this on the bill. The bacon that came with my salad was disappointing caked in bacon grease. I'm sure I received the last pieces at the "bottom of the barrel". I don't think we will try this place again. It's a cute casual local spot but it's lacking in food quality big time. It reminds me of the kind of kitchen that cooks a few things themselves and gets everything else frozen or bagged up to heat and serve. Also to note, we sat in the back near the kitchen so we saw several teen employees hanging out and talking. One was from the kitchen possibly taking a break and was cussing right next to our small children. The manager came a few minutes later and they quickly dispersed. I would just note to management that I'm sure you're aware of this but it truly makes customers uncomfortable to be sat right next to that area. Maybe place a partition or restrict anyone from hanging out there. The register/computer being right next to the booth needs a privacy screen at least. read more

The food is so great. I have been here a few times and the portions are large and amazing. I recommend sharing the plates or expecting to take portions home. Go to the website to put your name on the list before you drive over to save time waiting. The place is busy and can be loud, but very family friendly. My take on B&H is: sometimes, less really is better! I rarely let my family choose were to dine because (1) I'm the Boise foodie and (2) somehow they always manage to pick the places with the most average tasting dishes. I really should have spoken up this morning but it was 6:30 am and I really wasn't in the mood to argue. So here we go. Seated as soon as we walked in, I began my meal with a cup of jo'. I will point out I did appreciate the large coffee cups - small cups drive me crazy because I drink coffee like my life depends on it. Decided to belly up to the Chicken and a Biscuit (maple glazed fried chicken on a split buttermilk biscuit topped with sharp cheddar cheese, two eggs and smothered in sausage gravy with Idaho home fries, $13.29) that I split with my mother. I'm glad I did. The serving was enormous, ridiculously oversized. My overall thought? MEH. There wasn't much taste. It was okay. The maple glaze on the chicken was yummy but not amazing. Nothing spectacular. Its like they *tried* to create something unique but didn't take the extra mile to truly do so. Momma thought the same (and momma's always right). Husband chowed down on a Breakfast Sando (Jalapeño jelly, cream cheese, signature pork belly bacon strips and fried egg on a grilled brioche bun, side of Idaho home fries, $11.99). To be honest he really only had a few bites before he said, "I can't take this anymore." I had a couple nibs. Overall, too much going on here. Should rename it Diabetes Sando! It was overwhelmingly sweet. The jelly was piled right on the middle of the sandwich, and I got a mouthful of it. Combined with the bacon that was literally ALL fat, I felt like I was eating grease scraped straight off the pan. Big miss. He agrees. On one other bright note besides the coffee, the home fries were good. I try to be fair and not allow other reviews influence my own but all the negativities were blatantly apparent and I should have steered my fam the other direction. I do want to also point out that not one person was wearing a mask which goes to say how much the operators care about their patrons, little to none. The wait staff is friendly and comes around regularly to check on you but never gets a clue that you need more water or soda, because they ask you as they are walking by. I got the brisket sandwich. I've been working from home like everyone else, and saw Biscuit & Hogs pop up on Door dash a few times...The food looked great - but ordered it from Meridian to the North End seemed risky. I am so glad we decided to drive out there one night for dinner! It's freaking awesome. Warning: the staff might not be wearing masks, and maybe they aren't social distancing...but am I the ONLY person who welcomes the normalcy? I tend to find myself wanting to go back here because they AREN'T being strict A-holes about protocol. Anyways enough about covid. 1) Their website/website menu is kind of false advertising I think. It seems so proper and clean and beautiful plates of food...Dude. You are in for HUGE plates of food, and ridiculously titled drinks. Like...cocktails out of a plastic yard flamingo, and bloody marry's out of what looks to be the size of a paint can. 2) CHAMBONGS. yep. little glass champagne "beer bongs" for like $1.50. You HAVE TO ORDER ONE! ( or three ) 3) whatever you choose of the menu (there's SO MUCH, but I suggest a scramble) ...order the side of pancake. ITS THE SIZE OF A FREAKING 12in PLATE! My husband had Meat platter 24.95 , he really enjoyed it, but was disappointed because it came with mac & cheese and he asked them to replace it with french fries and they said there was no they could not switch any thing on the platter. Oh my! We have been to Biscuit and Hogs more times than I can count. They have it all and it continues to be consistent! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Happy Hour and amazing appetizers. Each and every time we have visited Biscuit & Hogs we have been thoroughly impressed. The food is fabulous. They take their menus items up a big time notch. Biscuit and Hogs is a restaurant we love taking friends and family that come into town. It is always a hit! The breakfast items are very large portions. We always go home with left overs. The nachos are absolutely delicious, and a must try. The Happy Hour menu is super unique and so creative. My girlfriends and I love the champongs :) The cherry on top of this restaurant is the service has always been fantastic. We have always had super friendly service. Biscuit and Hogs does not take reservations and does get super busy on Saturday and Sunday Mornings so keep this in mind. There will be waits on the weekends. read more

We came here on a busy Sunday after church. Fortunately I did some research ahead of time and put our names on the waitlist through open table (we were number 23!). It probably ended up being about an hour wait, but we timed it perfectly and arrived right when our table was ready. We sat down and ordered drinks. I ordered the "Laura", which included coffee and a mimosa. I really love this idea since I wanted both and you save like $0.70 on the mimosa. For our meal I ordered the Idaho scramble with the biscuit french toast and fruit. Everything arrived surprisingly quickly for how busy it was. The mimosa was great and there was certainly enough alcohol in it. I can see how the other reviewer's mimosas don't have much flavor because you're getting mostly Prosecco with a splash of juice! The biscuit french toast was my favorite. It was incredibly soft and the flavor almost reminded me of a funnel cake. My scramble was also really good and it was such a huge portion. Overall we had an amazing experience here. Even the service was on point, especially for how packed the place was. We'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

After two visits I'm just not a fan. This last visit was with a gift certificate (kind of - Sweet Deals $50 gift certificate for $25). I'm always up for a good bloody mary so I ordered the sloppy hog - their version of a bloody mary. I asked for the spicy version. I'm not a fan of their homemade bloody mary mix. It's chunky. I think there were bits of bacon in it. But I'm not sure. I just know that there were more sips than not that were so off-putting because of unexpected bits of something. The first time we were there I tried the Prime Steak Sandwich with sweet potato tots. Loved the tots. The sandwich was good but there was way too much fat. Unfortunately I felt like I was spitting out inedible fat with every bite. This last visit they had Lobster Morney on the menu. I ordered that and the waitress let me know the lobster was served cold. When I changed my order she said she'd had a lot of complaints because the cold lobster so I was letting people know. How about letting the cooks and management know?? So I got the Baja Scramble with house fries and a fruit cup. The egg scramble was fine. Honestly it was a big mix of a lot of flavors. Nothing great. The potatoes took up more than half of the huge plate = ALOT of potatoes. The home fries were great for the first few bites. And then there were a lot of very burnt bits and then undercooked slices. Some had a lot of seasoning and some that had none. The fresh fruit bowl was very good and flavorful. Hubby got Chicken Fried Steak. He said it was fine. He also got the home fries and his portion was a bit smaller but the same issues as mine. They have some cool big drinks that would be fun with friends, but I'm just not impressed with the food. First time visit. Tried a couple months back but was packed and had an hour wait (Saturday), this time we visited on a weekday morning. B&H was highly recommended, so we were very much looking forward to it. My mate ordered scrambled eggs, potatoes and pork belly. One of my favorite breakfast is pancakes and fried eggs sunny side up. The eggs, potatoes ad pork belly were declared great, but way too much. The pancakes are GIANT (the size of a small pizza!) and they serve two - knowing I couldn't eat two, I asked for one and, instead of two eggs, went with three. I was totally disappointed! Food combinations are different than your typical breakfast spot, some work and some don't. We were excited to try this place out due to the unique menu and our love for both burgers and breakfast. My wife ordered a scramble and a pancake while I went with the burger. My burger was exceptional. Great bun, wonderful toppings and cooked to my liking. I would love to see a house cut fries option and wax a little disappointed that they said they couldn't do a mix of fries and tots when I asked. The sweet potato tots were okay but nothing exceptional. My wife enjoyed her pancake however, she didn't like the large amount of grease that the eggs and potatoes were soaked in. Eggs and potatoes tasted good but there was an unusual amount of grease on the plate with it. All in all, great burger place and would definitely consider visiting again. read more

30-40min wait mid morning Saturday which is fine and expected. Ended up sitting outside and could instantly smell sewage. Overheard waitress tell other customers that some of the tables outside smell bad so to sit closer to us. Coffee tasted super watered down. We got ice lattes. Orange juice tasted like it was from a can. Trough burrito, chicken & waffles, Mac n cheese, and B&H special were ok nothing worth noting. I was expecting better potatoes being in Idaho. We sat in the north east corner of the restaurant and it was super loud, not ideal but with current conditions, you take what you can get. Initial greeting was great and drinks came out quickly, food took about 28 minutes which I found to be on the high side, looked like a ton of to go orders but should have been better staffed if that's the case. Food was good when it came out, huge portions, be prepared to eat or take some home. The French toast looked fantastic, made out of biscuit batter I believe, daughter enjoyed it very much.
