Lots of good and fresh variety of ingredients and the service is efficient. The restaurant is big enough for large groups. Street or underground parking. Lots of soup options and dry option too. There is a sauce bar at the front by the entrance and free ice cream which was delicious!

This Big Way location just opened at Gilmore Place. The interior is bright, spacious and welcoming. They have their usual selection of meats, veggies and carbs. All the ingredients looked fresh, but some of the hot pot meats were still frozen and stuck together. I ordered my usual malatang broth and it came with a good amount (Robson location typically gives too little broth). My husband's tom yum broth was delicious and there's the option to add coconut milk at no extra cost. We came for lunch, which comes with complimentary black tea, green tea or lemonade. Service was friendly, although we had to ask the cashier several times to repeat herself. She spoke quietly with a thick accent and it was difficult to understand her. The staff on the floor were so attentive, they immediately took our empty pots and brought us taro ice cream. I live in the area and will definitely be back.

Went here pretty late at night as a group of two. I think it was more crowded than during dinner. After grabbing everything I wanted, I paid and got seated. My order took a while this time. The food was good as usual. It also took a while to get my ice cream. I think the staff forgot, but it was all good because it tasted good.

The servers explain how the combos work and they're constantly topping off our broths. Their combos include a soup base, main course, side, assorted veggies, Gokudo sauce, beverage and dessert. Soup: Their sukiyaki soup base is light with umami flavour and comes with a raw egg. This is a popular choice but my fave is their mushroom truffle broth. Main: my husband and I shared their AAA prime rib & lamb shoulder, both were delicious. Side: choose between rice or noodles, we upgraded to instant noodles. Beverage: drink of the day was milk tea and it paired well with the hot pot. Dessert: we had a choice between matcha or taro ice cream

We monitored the waitlist and joined it so that we would be seated around 9PM (that's when HH started). The service was good and our server was very attentive. The taste is really just the broth (I always get the Chinese herbal soup) and it was good and flavourful in the beginning, but of course after cooking some proteins and veggies in it, it does change the flavour. The quality of the meat and veggies were good, and the pricing is definitely worth it during HH because it was 25% off the bill!

The self service sauce and dessert bar adds to the premium experience as well. I wanted to try their advertised Wagyu beef and man was it fantastic! The meat melted in your mouth and wasn't overwhelming which extremely fatty cuts of Wagyu can be. By far the best AYCE hot pot meat item i've ever had, and I've been to many AYCE hot pot restaurants before. Shoutout to the shrimp paste and salmon sashimi as they also tasted fantastic. Ordering food was very simple; you order via a sheet on the paper to start but as the night went on, voicing the order to the very attentive waiter was all that was needed. Service at Dolar shop is always 10/10 and there was no exception during the AYCE service. Would 100% return for this late night AYCE deal as this was the best overall AYCE hot pot meal I've had.

I really enjoyed their sauce bar as they had a variety of different sauces to mix together to make your own custom. They also have servers there that can help you make their signature sauce. I think there was a little confusion with the order, and when we went at their non peak hour, it was a little inattentive, but not terrible. Worth going if you're in the Metrotown area and you want hot pot!

There is an extra charge of the sauce bar, about $3 plus dollars. That includes dessert & their yummy congee as part of the sauce bar. There's even a show presentation on a popular Chinese mythology figure, The Monkey God. A thoroughly enjoyable meal. Service is prompt & good, our server Elvis was attentive & most helpful. Our group of 10 tried the house special original ($9.99) and half half broth ($11.99). Plum juice ($2.99) was tasty and refillable. Good variety of meats, vegetables and desserts. We went there for the all you can eat hotpot, which was $43.99 per person for dinner. They were pretty busy on a Friday night, although we were able to get a table because some reservation didn't show up. Medium sized interior with mostly booth seating, and the entrance is narrower and expands to the back. It's a personal hotpot so each person gets their own stove and order their own soup base. Ordering is done via a tablet. They also have cooked dishes like skewers, fried mantou and other things on the menu in addition to the hotpot ingredients. Some of the items cost extra and are labeled with the cost. In the center, they have the sauce bar, desserts bar of mostly Chinese jellos and also an ingredients bar with things like spam and quail eggs. I got the satay broth and it was decent. Ingredients are served reasonably quickly. The quality of the meat is decent. The milk-marinated beef is actually soft, and the usual sliced ribeye, lamb shoulder and pork belly are fine. The cooked dishes are decent as well, as we tried their pork trotters, fried mussels, and lamb skewers. The selection for hotpot ingredient is as you'd expect for an AYCE place, but the cooked food selection is a bonus. Definitely stuffed myself and was a satisfying meal on a cold winter day.
