The OG bigway location, space is definitely crammed esp the waiting area and the weighing area. Definitely recommend joining the line online first and head there later. There's also another branch right round the corner if the line is too long.

First time trying out Big way after hearing so much about it. You can sign up on wait-list on their website and then get sent a text when it's almost your turn which is super nice! I put my name on the wait-list coming back from Richmond and the timing was perfect. I love how you can choose all the things you want in your hotpot before they cook it for you. There's lots of toppings to choose from and I tried out the tomato base soup! Overall the meal was pretty good and came out to $16.78 for my pot of toppings I don't like how there wasn't any signage regarding the cost per kg which was $39.90/kg. There also wasn't any signage or clarification as to whether the pot itself is included in the weight because it didn't show on the receipt either? I assume it's taken out but the lack of clarification/transparency was confusing as someone who has never been there before. Overall convenient for a snack but not sure if I'll be back for a meal because I personally don't like not knowing the cost of my food before checking out and I don't want to be stuck with a huge bill unknowingly

Big way is always the place to go to during the winter or if you ever need a hobble of soup, I love how customizable it is and the ingredients always taste so fresh.

I don't usually go to Burnaby, and when I was there, I was excited to learn their new location, and decided to have my lunch there. I've had good experience at their original location just half blocks away from it, but this time, the experience was completely opposite. After picking out my food, I sat down and one of the servers came over to ask about what kind of drink I'd like to have. I asked for green tea with no ice, because of my medical condition doesn't allow me to drink anything icy. He refused right away saying they are not allow to make that exception due to the happy hour promo. I was puzzled because I remember the other locations I visited, including Richmond were all able to accommodate the request. Further to my request to speak to the manager, he told me that the assistant manager on duty is currently away, and she can come to speak to me after she returned. 30 minutes in my meal till I finished, the manager is still nowhere to be found. When my pot was brought to me, I noticed the potatoes noodles were not cooked properly, they were still stiff when biting into it. So I couldn't eat any of them. I wanted to wait till I talked to the assistant manager and bring the issues together. After waiting for another 10 mins, I had to wave down a waitress and she brought the assistant manager right away. Apparently she was back a while ago. After listening to my concerns, she was able to make an "exception" and brought me a room temperature green tea drink in a cup right away, and offered a coupon which I have to use is within 30 days. I emailed their store manager to ask for an extension on the coupon, but never heard back. Funny enough, the assistant manager gave me the wrong email to beginning with, and when I told her the email bounced back, she then gave me the correct one. Is that a coincidence or on purpose? You tell me. What can I say about this location? The restaurant was really loud when I entered, blasting pop culture music mixing with EDM. They have the same type of ambiance in all of their locations, customers just have to deal with it. My pot came up to $45 and I barely picked anything, not to mention the not eatable noodles. Not sure what type of weighting system they use, nothing was transparent. To me, it's not really worth it, especially after what happened. I am disappointed and won't be back.

Pick your items first and they weigh it

We drove by this place so many times and it seems to always be full. With this cold weather, we came to try this place. You get a pot and tongs and you choose the items you want. Then they weigh it and you're charged per 100g sp keep that in mind as you can get carried away with filling your pot. After they weigh it, they take it to the back for their cook, to cook it for you. You also choose the soup base. The tables are close to one another so it can get a bit cramped in there. They do have a good variety of food/ingredients and it is fresh. You can choose from 4-5 soup bases. They offer ice cream after too but we didn't have it as we didn't want anything cold after eating hot/spicy food. I got the green pepper soup base and my wife got the sa cha soup base. My soup was good as it was subtle but flavorful. The condiment selection is okay, was hoping for more variety.

Amazing spot to have a meal that's fully customized to your liking! We love that we get to pick our own items and broth. It's pay by weight and we manage to stay under or around $15 usually, so it's a great deal. We signed up ahead of time on the Yelp waiting list and then we were given our little gold pots & tongs shortly after we received the text message. Service was friendly and efficient, and they made sure we had water the whole time. We can't forget the amazing complimentary soft serve (we got matcha this time but forgot to take a picture) at the end. Perfect way to end off a meal! The newer location on facing Kingsway is more spacious and I love the high ceilings. Everything felt clean and new (but the bathroom could be a little cleaner but I think it might've just been the customer who used it before me ... ). Overall we love it here and will definitely return!!

There are two locations of Big Way Hot Pot within about 50m of each other on the same block. They both serve the same food, but it's a little confusing. This is the location that faces Kingsway, and seems to have more people during peak weekend dinner time. Small hotpot restaurant where you grab the ingredients from some shelves, go pay at the counter by food weight, and they boil it up in the broth you choose. First time I've tried this style of hot pot service, and it's efficient. The place was full when we were there on 5:30 on a Saturday but turnover is fast. The line gets longer later. Back to the ingredient selection, they actually have a pretty good variety. Lots of choices of processed meat (fish ball, meat balls, spam etc.) and noodles, and the sliced meats, seafood, veggies, and tofu selection are decent as well. My pot was $28 before tip which was reasonable. There is probably a strategy of not getting stuff that's too dense since it's charge by weight. They cook it up pretty quickly and bring the pot to your table. I got the shacha soup base and that was good. For the price, the ingredients were pretty tasty. The meats were pretty good. So were the purple yam noodles which looked pretty. They also have a small sauce bar to whip up a dipping sauce. After the meal, they give you a complementary soft serve ice cream cone. The only flavor they had was "strawberry", but it didn't taste very strawberry like. Our group thought it tasted more like bubblegum or toothpaste. Well, the hotpot was pretty decent at least.

Came here with my partner as part of our hot pot tours! The serving format is getting a big pot, choosing anything you want from their wall of hot pot goodies, and then paying by weight and choosing your broth. They cook it for you and bring it to your table. I believe I got their malatang broth. It was really delicious. All the hot pot items were as usual--there is SO MUCH variety to choose from. My favourite was their salted egg yolk ball. It was like eating a salted egg yolk gusher--so yummy! Quality was good! They also have a well-equipped and complementary sauce bar. My only complaint is that because I didn't get to cook anything myself, not everything was to my liking. For example, the lotus root was too hard for my soft mouth. And my noodles were getting really soggy by the end. However, at the price this place is, I'll deal with it because you can't really get hot pot anywhere else for cheaper! I spent less than $30 on my bowl, and I could have spent even less because I was too full. Service was really good, the restaurant is itself is really bustling. It's an extremely popular spot--my partner and I had wait-listed online an hour before while we rascaled around Metrotown. When we got there, there were nearly 100 people on the waitlist--insane! Very loud and chaotic in there.

$13 miso based soup! Fresh and delicious, but not enough broth.

There is no way this place is up to fire code. It's a mosh pit from the line in to your cramped table. Group of four, luckily a friend put us on the two hour waiting list! We got a text and headed to the restaurant. Standing in the freezing cold, back to front with strangers, you're given a bowl and tongs. Then as you're shoved along the fridge line selecting your food, their staff cram in between you to flick you with prawn water etc while they make uber eats orders. At the weigh scale you pay and get a number then join, surprise! a mosh pit line of people standing 15 plus minutes waiting for a table. I hope you enjoy eating while ten people stare at you hoping you're nearly done! Then, you crowd surf to your table (which is wet with chemical cleaner) they cram so many people in at the end of tables that when someone attempts to pass your table their coat/ butt/ hair or whatever knocks over your 8$ drink. My $13 soup was good, tasty miso broth but my noodles were over done and it was a laughable amount of broth, most of my food wasn't in the broth. Luckily a friend ordered the same broth as me and shared so my noodles and dumplings didn't dry out, but my soup was cold by the time I got to the bottom of my noodles, I like the places with individual food warmers. The Ice creams were a nice free dessert finish but everyone's glaring at you hoping you'll eat it faster and leave. The food was good, but there's no shortage of great hot pot in the city or within walking distance of this place, I'll honestly never return.

Choose your own adventure. There's a huge selection of raw ingredients - you pay by weight, pick your soup bases, and they bring the finished soup out to you. Plenty of meat (frozen hot pot rolls, and raw meats), fish/beef/uni/lobster balls, mushrooms, noodles, greens, vegetables. It's nice to just pick your favourites, or to be able to pick 1 of something just to try it out. It's easy to get carried away and end up with a $30 meal. If you choose sparingly, it could be around $15. Mine was around $25 (see photos before and after). They have pop, bubble tea and other drinks, as well as beer, soju, and "spiked" bubble tea (shots of alcohol added in). Complimentary ice cream after your meal. Parking is metered on Kingsway, but you may find free spots on the side streets. This is the 2nd location and the same company as the one around the corner. They both seem to be doing well and are typically busy so it can't be too bad?

    Kim T.

We tried both locations and the one w/ door number 4250 had better brighter ambiance and cleaner sauce bar. Soooo many toppings to build your hotpot which was great!! They also have many soup bases to choose from. Price is very reasonable. Delicious and filling! And you get free ice cream after your meal which is a plus. Be sure to get into the queue online as soon as you can as wait time for us on the weekend was about an hour. Service is friendly!

    Collagen bone broth hotpot

alWAYs an option here... my WAY! I think I lost counts on how many times I have been here and other locations. It's fast, opens late and decently good minus the crazy lineups during peak hours. This location is located right on Kingsway in Burnaby on the same block as Bubble World, Pho 24, and with its old location around the corner still. Here were what I ordered the last time here; 1. Lychee sparkling. Nice little drink, as you can see I like lychees lol 2. Honey green tea. Can't go wrong with honey right? 3. Collagen (Pork) bone broth with my selection of self picked food; duck breast, fried egg, sliced beef, ham, bamboo roots, spinach, tong ho, egg noodle, mussel meats, tofu puffs, baby corns, enoki mushrooms, nappa cabbage stuffed taro cake. $25 4. Szechuan green pepper broth with selection of self picked food; quail eggs, baby corn, fried egg, cabbage, duck breast, ham, nappa cabbage, bamboo shoots, sliced fish and pork blood. $22 5. Matcha ice cream (complimentary) Overall I really like this concept of self serve on the food you want that are displayed and pay by weight. Then have it cooked by selecting the broth options of your choice. The atmosphere here is always vibrant and busy, therefore making a reservation is recommended during peak hours. The staffs here are quite helpful and friendly most of the time. And of course the food here is always decently good, after all, I picked it and had it cooked my WAY!

I came here a couple of times this past week, and it was fairly busy. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the food selection is great. Had the opportunity to try out their New Coconut Green Curry Broth, and it was absolutely delicious if you're a fan.

Several types of meat, veggies and dough type items. I also added 2 noodle circles.

We went there for the all you can eat hotpot, which was $43.99 per person for dinner. They were pretty busy on a Friday night, although we were able to get a table because some reservation didn't show up. Medium sized interior with mostly booth seating, and the entrance is narrower and expands to the back. It's a personal hotpot so each person gets their own stove and order their own soup base. Ordering is done via a tablet. They also have cooked dishes like skewers, fried mantou and other things on the menu in addition to the hotpot ingredients. Some of the items cost extra and are labeled with the cost. In the center, they have the sauce bar, desserts bar of mostly Chinese jellos and also an ingredients bar with things like spam and quail eggs. I got the satay broth and it was decent. Ingredients are served reasonably quickly. The quality of the meat is decent. The milk-marinated beef is actually soft, and the usual sliced ribeye, lamb shoulder and pork belly are fine. The cooked dishes are decent as well, as we tried their pork trotters, fried mussels, and lamb skewers. The selection for hotpot ingredient is as you'd expect for an AYCE place, but the cooked food selection is a bonus. Definitely stuffed myself and was a satisfying meal on a cold winter day. Not the cheapest meal, but not a solid value.

Wow it's been a minute since i've gone back to Marble and they really stepped up their game. I love…read morethe new layout compared to before and the open sauce bar concept along with dessert bar and a lot of veggies / balls/ noodles etc self serve area and simple to use tablet ordering! Prices are still as amazing as i remembered and the service is so consistent ... this time there was skewers added and they're soooo good! You definitely need to try the enoki beef skewer! I'm so glad i randomly chose to have dinner on christmas day here, i literally made resos the night before and it was such a breeze! The new icecream flavour is watermelon it was so delicious too also complimentary with all you can eat and don't forget to get the token for free cotton candy!! The ambiance was quite lively and busy. Pretty well ventilated .. tables are spacious. I still need to try the dimsum here one day!!!
