I was referred to Best Buy by a Target employee with I went to get a new screen protector for my iPhone that's only 1 model older than the one that just came out and Target had nothing available. This Best Buy location is in The Plant which is not my favorite place to go but it's located in a less busy side of the center so parking was easy to find. I was greeted the moment I walked in and immediately saw the signage for phone accessories. Lo and behold, tons of screen protector options for the iPhone 16. I was able to check out quickly and be on my way and now I'll only go to Best Buy for any electronics needs as they have a very ample selection! read more

IMHO Came specifically to check out an iPad with keyboard. The first two employees we encountered, never acknowledged us, and just walked by. I worked in retail for 30 years. Employees, acknowledge your customer with a "hello" and smile. You represent your company! Don't you want to make a sale? We got 5-star service from Dan. It said "Advisor" on his badge. Suffice it to say, he gave us epic customer service. He was very engaging, helpful, and offered his suggestions. The manager gave store credit for my old Rexing dash cam. As of last week, my dash cam started to glitch; it would turn on and reboot itself over and over. It just would not stay on. I do most of my browsing online before coming to Best Buy. That way when I get there, I am not confused or deterred by their many other options available to tailor to my needs/wants. I've rented a room almost my entire adult life (minus the times I've lived w/ boyfriends); even when I lived w/ family, I was renting the one room only. Can you imagine having 3 people in a room? That was life for what seemed like a very long time. I was able to lift myself up through hard-work. seized every opportunity I can to lift myself up from the ground. I rented a one-bedroom apartment in Willow Glen. We lived there for a little over 2 years before upgrading to 5 bedroom house right across from Communications Hill. A bigger place means more to clean. It didn't take me long to clean my apartment but after living here, I copied my parents and invested in a Bissell. The area to cover (sweep/mop) plus the fur from my cats.. the shoe streaks, the dirt from the shoes, etc.. the only carpeted area is the stairs but we have tile and wood overall. Best Buy's website / stocking level is accurate, the description, ordering process, and ready time is also accurate. The online pickup is separate than their regular lines to checkout - I was lucky that I wasn't behind anyone. The gentleman that rung us up was nice and found my order swiftly. My advice would be stay away from this store! The staff is incompetent and flat out lied as to what the Geek squad would be doing when they came out to set up new computer. The sales person did not know how to enter a simple purchase and even after asking for advice, still did not get it right. After a call back to complain and to try and get problem resolved was treated even worse by the so called manager who answered the phone. I forget that we can rate non-food places on Yelp. This Best Buy will be my first. I had purchased an expensive gaming laptop for my sibling (like $600) and It had software problems with it. I know nothing about computers or software stuff. I had called customer service to schedule an appointment at this location and my experience here was so amazingly helpful that I needed to review this place. I checked into Geek Squad and right away someone came to assess my situation. The kind lady name was Candice and she was absolutely a gem! Even with my word vomit of me trying to explain what's the problem, she knew exactly what to do. She walked me through every step of the way along with humorous side conversations. I loved that this customer service interaction didn't give me any annoyed attitude or eye rolls when I asked questions because I'm dumb with technology lol Candice answered professionally without sounding sarcastic! I truly appreciate that. Living in the Bay Area lol and not knowing basic software stuff, you tend to run into people who are so judgmental. I am a health science major LOL leave me alone! ANYWAY, not only did Candice and her team FIX the laptop but she also gave me the option to replace it with an entire new one so I could start over! Ever since I was a child, I saw the infamous Geek Squad vans driving around but I never experienced them before because when technology breaks I am frustrated and just buy a new one lol but I can't just whip out $600 lol so I had to check in with the Geek Squad and I am so happy I did. This is my go to place for laptop purchases. Several years ago, I purchased a laptop and it turned out to be a lemon, I was able to return it within a week to Best Buy and they replaced it with no hassle. I recently came back again and purchased a new laptop and had geek squad help me with the data transfer. Justin and Candice are amazing. Justin was able to transfer my data smoothly and had me go through my new computer to make sure everything was correct before I left. Geek squad department is pretty busy, so it's important to be patient and know that they are doing their best to help you. I appreciate their knowledge and their professionalism. read more

Terrible, shady business from this Best Buy. Pokémon cards are so hard to get nowadays so me, my dad and 7 year old brother lined up early in the morning to each get one 6 pack to open and get into collecting. We were first in line, came into the store, and the old white lady who was the manager, was throwing a tantrum saying "this is all we have". Everyone in line knew she was lying, because she was going to backdoor the product for her own benefit. Then she miraculously "found" all the product all organized in a basket. Excellent customer service! My partner came in for their Sandisk Recycling program (where you're able to trade in any storage drive) for 15% off Sandisk storage device merchandise. For some reason, our coupon wasn't registering with the store, but the employees worked hard to get the coupon to work and to ensure that my partner walked out of Best Buy happy! The whole process did take awhile, but I think it was due to how not many people were knowledgeable in the promotion nor responsive on their walkie talkies. Until today, I've been a Best Buy Total member for 3 years. I had an issue with my Asus Zephyrus laptop recently that wasn't completely resolved, but I ultimately gave up because it was proving to just be a massive waste of time. Laptop was having issues installing software and compiling code. The first Geek Squad "agent" I worked with, Candace, was very nice but it was evident that she was overworked. She was the lone agent for the entire afternoon/morning. I showed her the laptop hanging during installs and also while running software, and she documented it. She took the laptop in and later called me back to tell me that her "technician" updated some drivers and adjusted some settings to help with the framerates. I could have easily done that myself, honestly. That wasn't the issue. Hell, Nvidia GeForce Experience offers to do all that for you. Anyway, I ended up driving back and forth 8 times, like 30 minutes each way, so that they can tell me they weren't really sure what was going on. During one trip, I started a game and was unable to play for almost 40 minutes because it was taking so long to build shaders. This, while they suggested that new games take longer to build (I have an older machine that can build the same shaders in like 10 minutes), and that my internet might be slow (It's not that slow, I have gigabit). Finally, after sending my machine out 3x, traveling back and forth 8 times, and standing at their Geek Squad desk for 30-40 minutes each visit, a male agent says "oh let's just replace the solid state and upgrade it". I have to pay for the upgrade, of course, and when I get the laptop back nothing has changed. At this point, I give up. I take my laptop back and just go home and vow to never shop at Best Buy again. The kicker is the agent who is helping us cracks a joke and says that if my wife had dropped the laptop or accidentally broke it, they would have been able to replace it for me free of charge. She was tempted to accidentally break it in front of them. I don't really have any issues with the agents, though. They all seemed to be doing their best, and were mostly nice/polite, but they seemed to be handicapped by Best Buy's shit policies. Best of luck to you guys, because I know you're underpaid and overworked. I did forget to cancel my subscription until just a little bit ago this morning, and their cancelation/refund process was very smooth. I'm guessing they had to deal with chargebacks and learned that it's easier to just give the money back. Went into BestBuy at the 181 Curtner Ave. San Jose location Monday 11/23/20 a little before 12PM to return an online order due to wrong item being sent to me. I ordered an iPad Pro 11 128GB but upon opening the package slightly I seen the "32GB" on the box. So here's how it went: Got there and the clerk took my information down but then had to call somebody to authorize it. Comes in Ernesto Ruvalcaba Gonzalez. Looks at the item and says "this is the item you ordered" I preceded to TELL and SHOW him the order # assigned from my BestBuy account online. Not listening to a word I said, he continues "on the item is your order# and this is what you ordered" Then he prints up the order summary from the item I brought in to return and shows it... First off it wasn't the order# I gave him, the Person's name isn't mines. The address was in South Carolina! That's when he finally asked for my name and finally took my order number down. Then he says "I don't know how you got this, you shouldn't have received this item, you were sent this by mistake and yours should be arriving tomorrow,". Only by basing that on the summary's deliver by date... I told him this is the package they sent me and that is the wrong item inside.. Then he has the audacity to say " to me that's just an envelope" Not listening to a word I was saying again......are you kidding me??!? The tracking# assigned to the iPad I was supposed to receive is on the envelope..... how is it just an envelope? Ernesto then takes the iPad and starts walking away. I had to ask him for his card since he didn't want to give me any confirmation that my order will be delivered "tomorrow". Now i'm left without an iPad to return to BestBuy.com via FedEX option online and with a estimated $877 charge on my credit card. read more

Yes, this is another Best buy. I recommend this store no matter what location I go to they know their stuff and will make sure you are taken care of should any issues arise. I originally purchased a high-end Sony TV from another location, but after a few weeks of owning it the picture started to faze out and even though the return date expired they were willing to work with me, and made sure I got a tv I wanted. After looking at all the tvs they had on display I got a great deal on a 65" LG OLED 65C1. Normally this tv would be wayyyy out of my price range, but it was an open box item so it was cheaper and I pulled the trigger immediatley using my best buy credit card. The sales person was very helpful and even offered to load it into my car and I couldn't wait to get home to set it up. All my favorite streaming apps like; Disney plus, HBO MAX, Vudu and watching 4K movies look phenomenal in dolby vision on this tv. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. This Best Buy store will NOT go above and beyond to help you. No staff employees around to assist you if you need help or service. I wasted over $500 of a new HP computer because a female agent on the phone told me that Best Buy Geek Squad can fix anything such as old computer monitor. I had to throw away my old Sylvania computer monitor on March 16th because it will not turn on. Agent Veda told me on March 13th that Best Buy Geek Squad can fix it via telephone chat. I brought the old monitor in 2 days later and a heavy set man sitting down at Geek Squad told me upfront that Best Buy Geek Squad will not fix the monitor. The heavy set male employee was rude and also failed to go above and beyond. The new HP computer that I bought at the Best Buy Plant cost more than Office Depot. Lazy Best Buy employees and VERY poor customer service. Cost too much money on products and absolutely poor customer service. I bought a refrigerator, washer/dryer and laptop in Dec 2021 from Best Buy. I got Total Tech protection which would last for two years on all of these products because the refrigerator salesman told me that at the end of those two years I could switch over to monthly protection for each product. I could have gotten 3-5 year protection plans on each of these products, but with total tech I could save a little cost given all info and calculations at hand. It turns out that the washer/dryer was a lemon. The washer would not turn on after mid-cycle wash (no washing clothes for a couple of weeks). I got the computer board replaced, it worked for several days but the issue persisted (no washing clothes for a week or so). I got a second repair visit and the repairman got it to work again after re-booting the board. Then it broke in same way a third time. Then after two weeks, it came back on again. After this third time, after it started working again, I did manage to get a support manager to authorize a new washer/dryer because the intermittent issue wasn't showing signs of stopping. But this replacement was never followed up on by them, and at the time my washer was working. This was around start of 2023. So, fast forward to Nov 2023, I called in to have the total tech cancelled and the protection plans extended for each individual product. The first rep I talked to said that this wasn't an option. I called in later a second time and this rep said that I could do the cancel and individual extensions and this was done over the phone. I had gotten 3 confirmation emails for the 3 new individual protection plans. Now it is February 2024, and lo and behold the washer broke in same way again. I called into Best Buy, expecting that my washer was still protected and I could get the repair done. They informed me that there was no protection plan! On the washer/dryer or the other products. I looked up my confirmation emails back in Nov 2023 for the plan extensions, and according to the customer support manager I talked to it turns out that these were just payment card updates for each product still being on total tech. The emails though had no mention of "total tech" and had verbiage indicating individual plan protection like "Monthly Best Buy Protection Laundry". These emails were very misleading. Also, the payment update wasn't even an update, the card number/exp date never changed. So, it seems like that 2nd rep in Nov 2023 lied to me. I concretely remember the conversation and the rep said the total tech would be cancelled and the products would be switched over to individual protections. As well, that original refrigerator salesman gave me bad info, which conflicted with the company's actual policy, which is that products on total tech could not be switched over to individual protection plans. And the support manager from the start of 2023 told me that the washer/dryer would be replaced and that wasn't followed up on. I got off the phone with another support manager just now who was transparently sympathetic to my case and made sure to convey that the policy of Best Buy is that the products cannot be switched over to individual plans after total tech. I asked if an exception could be made given my terrible customer experience and he referred me to the store where I made the original purchases to see about some creative solution and said he had no button or function in the system to resolve my request. It honestly felt like he didn't care about my situation. I didn't want to waste my time, so asked that he talk to the store. He said he would fill out an in-company form. I requested screenshots of this because why should I continue to trust reps from this company that has repeatedly misrepresented information, and he told me he couldn't because that would be sharing internal company documents. To conclude, I still have the lemon washer unit, I don't have the protection plan on it anymore due to bad info and perhaps even direct manipulation. So, yes, in a terrible spot that no customer should ever be in and it looks like Best Buy isn't really interested in rectifying my situation and to boot is indifferent. Essentially, I lose, I guess the Best Buy employees kind of win (e.g. - they got me on that total tech!), and the big winner here is corporate greed. read more
