This place is great. It really felt like a throwback to a mini Fry's. I usually avoid buying electronics in person because the service at competing stores (you know who) is often poor. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful the staff were. The prices were also very competitive. I was hesitant about ordering from online retailers because I have seen how packages get handled during warehouse shipping. The customer service was friendly, and I was able to get the help I needed. It reminded me of Japanese electronics stores, where staff are attentive and there are plenty of employees available even when the store is not busy. It showed that they care about the customer experience. The manager, Joseph, was also very kind and clearly runs a good operation. He came over to thank me for my new laptop purchase, which I appreciated. I will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends for their electronics needs. read more

I too am glad that they decided to return. They have everything that Fry's had and then more such as the fact that you can recycle. Fry's didn't provide such a thing. The employees were throughout the store. Which is good if you suddenly want help. And yes, they do ask if you need help. Again it's great to see them return. Are you sick of Best Buy (who isn't)? Don't like waiting for Amazon to maybe deliver your electronics this week? Can't find anything you want at Costco, Staples, etc? Micro Center is the place to go for your electronics fix. They have a great selection of good quality products in a well organized store. They actually have human beings on the floor who are 1) extremely knowledgeable about their products, 2) willing and able to talk to you, and 3) not pushy or annoying. I know the big money is in gaming but it would be amazing if they had other product lines like home automation or tv/audio. My hubby is upgrading parts of his computer so he's like want to do a field trip to Micro Center? I'm like sure! I've never been to a Micro Center and I've really only been to a Fry's Electronics as well as a Computer Central. In short, it's nice to see Micro Center back and also a brick and mortar electronics store where you can pick up things quick as well as look at items in person. L O C A T I O N I had thought they just reopened the store they closed at Mercado so I thought our field trip would be relatively close. Phew I was dead wrong. This place is far from us. It's on Stevens Creek Blvd close to Lawrence Expressway. If you're old like, it's in the same plaza as were Barefoot Coffee used to be. Yeah....totally dating myself now. They have a parking lot shared with all the shops and restaurants there. It was pretty busy on a weekend but luckily we found a spot near the entrance. I N S I D E It was bright sparkly and welly organized. You walk in, there's a "Knowledge Bar" directly to your right. The check out/cashier is to the left. On the faaar left is where you can pick up orders you did online which is where we headed toward. Everything is laid out pretty well with labels for all the rows. I didn't really venture too far from the front of the store but from what I saw, it's pretty spacious. There is a slight musk scent throughout the place though which not sure if it's all the card board and goods or otherwise. S E R V I C E Pick up was pretty quick and the hubby asked a bunch of questions as well as trying to see if the bundles were applicable to his order. The folks there were quite helpful and patient with him as they answered all his questions and of course trying to get him a deal that was applicable. In the end, he didn't but they were kind enough to see if he could also price match. O V E R A L L I do miss Fry's, but it's nice that Micro Center came back and we can go here to take care of our electronics needs. It was also nice to see how popular and how many folks were here. Came here yesterday for pickup and the store was amazing. The store is not only huge but it displays alot more than other tech stores. They carry various brands so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative or a high end never gonna be replaceable product. The customer pickup is really quick and nice. The hype is definitely real. I've been waiting for Microcenter to return to the Bay Area after a huge hiatus. It's super depressing as a Bay Area native to see all these amazing deals at Microcenter that we could never partake since they do not ship anything. All I can say is welcome back Microcenter! We missed you. A lot of people would agree since the parking lot is SUPER Full and it is packed inside even though the store is quite large. Soooo I finally stopped by Micro Center during their Black Friday deal days. Friday was chaos but controlled chaos. Staff were really good at helping people out despite the craziness going on. I decided to come back the following day. It was a lot more chill and staff looked prepared to weather another storm. I'd say my shopping experience here was good. The store is overwhelming with literally everything computer related you can think of. The staff there were helpful in finding items and even offered their own opinions on PC parts which I appreciated because it helped me pick between parts. The store itself is pretty organized and I never felt like the shelves were in disarray despite how many people were there. I checked out with a cashier named Chris and he's a 100/10, the absolute GOAT. Chris picked up on the fact that I was buying a bundle deal and that one of the parts was open box. The bundle was for new unopened parts. So he caught that and I was able to get a discount on the bundle. What a legend. His service alone has made me a loyal customer to MC. read more

My fiancé and his friends have been geeking out on the idea that Micro Center was finally returning to the bay. We visited on the evening of the Grand Opening and waited 20 minutes before entering the store. We're familiar with the Micro Center in Tustin, and in comparison, this location is way larger and has a few extra neat sections, such as the 3d filament carousel. As expected, it was rather crowded. We had some fun browsing, but the check-out line was 1.5 hours and not worth the wait. Our friend went during the soft-opening and on weekdays when it wasn't busy, and it was much easier to check out. ** We've also visited again on a weekend and the check out has no wait anymore** We took home a couple of free Micro Center cups and it seems like they have a good amount of inventory for them. Micro Center is Best Buy on steroids. The keyboard section took up more than a whole wall. There were even more keyboards on brand specific displays. I wish the keyboards were more clearly sorted by wired, wireless, and both. Staff were really helpful and quick. Flagging down staff was also really easy. The long awaited Micro Center, this is not the first time we had this company bless us with their presence, there was a location on 101 an exit before Great American theme park, but that was years ago. We also did have Fry's largely spread out all over Northern California but we have not had and real computer stores here in awhile, we still have the Computer Central in San Mateo and another location in San Francisco but nothing as massive as the MicroCenter to compare too. The spot is fairly large, long lines even after a month of it being open, several customer reps walking around asking if you need help and tagging your items that you will be purchasing, several GPU (video cards) on display 40 series and 50 series. several motherboards, ram, but oddly not that many amd processors several if not all intel, hmm might be on back order lol They do have almost two rows of towers, mid size and small enclosures to build out your custom machine, all the wiring, all the power units, zip ties and velcro straps you need to make everything neat and clean on your builds Definitely have to come back during the week when supposedly no one is here, haha during the weekend it was a zoo, so many people. For Gaming they do have steering wheels, several controllers depending on your needs, flight simulator, car simulator, tank simulators, and regular Playstation or Xbox type controllers Same for keyboards almost a row and a half of selections, they do have almost everything in excess which is good and bad Glad to see there is this option if I need to get computer supplies or items for a computer, I can come here to hopefully find what I need service ***** helpful price $-$$$$ depends on what you need ambiance ***** clean, loud, large selection of items read more

It has been a long time since we've had a store like this in the Bay Area. Once upon a time, Micro Center in Santa Clara at Mercado was a great stop for techies, but it had heavy competition with all of the Fry's Electronics that surrounded the Bay Area. It eventually closed down, then all the Fry's closed down, then the Bay Area suddenly found itself as a tech capital without any walk-in tech stores. Best Buy is great, but it only gets you so far. Hubby and I went to the new Micro Center on a Friday night to pick up an order he placed online. It was somewhat busy, but the store was huge and we had no problem getting around. It was really great to see all the variety of tech on display in the store and felt like walking through a Fry's in its glory days. It was quick getting checked out for the pickup. Although not as big as a Fry's, Micro Center has TONS of products in it's smaller footprint, from appliances, computers, build PCs, and even 3D printing (which is very rare to see in person vs buying filaments online). Staff here is super friendly and glad to know they are knowledgeable too vs. Fry's nearing it's end days where staff didn't seem to really care much about electronics. Any question you had to ask on electronics to PCs, they'll be able to help you no problem. Quality of all their products are great and most of all, the prices in general are quite reasonable! I went near their grand opening weekends so the wait time in line was insane but I'm certain it'll normalize in the next week/months to come. I remember pre-ordering Crysis 2 there. Good times. I'm glad they are back. It is like seeing an old friend. The new store is much cleaner with vibes of Fry's Electronics. I got a free mug at the entrance since it was soft opening :) The parking lot was pretty filled up but there's definitely spots further away from the building. Ventilation is good and there's bathrooms available. You could probably spend like 30-40 minutes here if you're exploring. read more

I recently started getting back into gaming over the past year, so I decided to finally get a PC build. Before coming into the store, I was a little intimidated to buy a PC because I know nothing about computers. But once I walked in, Joe M. greeted me and was very friendly and helpful while creating the PC build of my dreams! He explained things in a way that made sense to me and went above and beyond to match the inspiration picture I showed him. He pulled all the parts for me and then escorted me to the building center where he introduced me to Jason Y. Jason Y is a literal magician and made my dream into a reality! There were some issues with faulty parts (from shipping issues, not because of Jason) and Jason was in constant communication with me about everything he was doing and what needed to be replaced. When I came to pick up the PC, David helped me check out and was just amazing with handling all the changes to make sure it all was attached to my protection plan properly. Unfortunately, I had picked a GPU and CPU that were not strong enough to handle the games I play, so I came back to Jason to ask if I could upgrade. Jason was able to recommend the best options and was quickly able to replace the new parts in the computer and now it's running everything on the highest quality graphics settings!! The PC Jason built for me was even better than I could have dreamed and I'm just over the moon! Micro Center is my new favorite store specifically because Jason and David went above and beyond for me and because of them, I'm a forever customer! read more

As opening day. It is crazy packed here and lines are too much for me lol. It's to be expected since they're technically the only electronics store thats worth going to these days. It has everything that I was looking for. Parking lot can be a challenge despite it being opening day. This plaza has a lot of good places to eat so parking can be difficult in th future. I've been told by friends and word of mouth from people that this place is considered the Disneyland but for computers/tech alike. I drove all the way to Tustin just to get my upgrades for computers. So glad that we now have one in Santa Clara. We need one more than ever here especially since fry electronics closed down during covid. read more

I've been getting the emails about the Santa Clara location opening up soon and as I was coming back from a car wash, I was curious to see if any signs or banners were put out in front so I casually drove by. NOT EXPECTING TOO SEE THE PARKING LOT FULL. As soon as I saw this, I made a hard right into the parking lot and was surprised to see people entering the store. When you first walk in there was a support bar to your right and cashiers to the left. Not knowing the location of the space ahead of time, I literally wandered the corners of the store just to familiarize myself with the layout. I'm sure everyone is excited about this location opening up and just saw alot of people enjoying themselves and being fascinated by the sheer amount of niche parts you could find here. All the employees are easily distinguishable from a white button up dress shirt and choice of tie. They definitely are excited to see customers and have no hesitation trying to be there for all your hardware/software needs. It can be a little pushy though as they're commission based, but it's to be expected. Really cool to see they also had a racing sim fully set up. Only 1, but hopefully they set up more and or find a way to make events around it or events in general. I'm not in the market for anything right now particularly, but when I do, i'll be here at Micro Center. read more

I'm an analog gal in a digital world! It's honestly nice to be able to go into a store and get the tech solution that I need (and then proceed to solve for three more while I'm there). Wear your walking shoes this store is choose your own adventure size of vast. You can build a computer from bolts up custom specs in this one store. (Literally had the guy in line behind me with a cart full of computer components for an epic build). Anticipate a line if you come in on a weekend (like I did) to checkout. They have a system in place to get you out as soon as possible but the store will be busy. Disneyland for those missing the in store computer configuring / building experience with everything moving to Amazon today. It's easy to lose track of time exploring all the accessories, fans, cabinets, laptops, and oh so much hardware. Lots of staff so there's always someone knowledgeable to discuss and help out. So glad this exists. Much more lively than Best Buy. Parking can be a challenge despite plenty of space. Taking away 1* star since checkout or return can be a pain on busy days as staff seems to prioritize in store experience over the checkout. read more

Horrible customer service. I went to the store for a quote to repair a laptop screen. I signed up for the waitlist where I was the only customer. There are 3-4 employees working the area who appear to be browsing their phones. I decided to browse the store while I wait for their call. I browsed the store for more than 30 minutes and still no call. I walk back near the front desk to find them still playing on their phones. I am writing this review at the 40 minutes mark without no help from them. This is funny to me because there are few customers inside the store beside myself. Moreover, I was able to get a quote within 3 minutes over the phone with Central Computers while browsing Microcenter. What a joke! Update - They finally called after more than 2 hours. Too bad I already left after 1 hrs at their store. Definitely reminds me of the iconic, horrible Fry's Electronic experience where the employees dont want to help you in-store and ask for your business after you left the store. Good job Microcenter! I live 1 hour away and was told that I can return and rebuy a laptop under a new credit card that was on the way(for a signup bonus). I picked up the laptop on 12/29 and I was aware of their 15 return policy and the operations manager Alan informed me that it will be fine if I came back after the 15 days, since technically, I'm keeping the laptop. I went in today and was denied the return and rebuy. This was upsetting because I wasted two hours driving back and forth. Had I been informed that this type request was not possible, I would have been fine and didn't need to waste my time today. Customer service also wasn't very helpful at the physical store too. read more

There is no way to talk to a live person.. no phone number listed anywhere. Only number is for their tech support which I gave up after waiting on hold for 15 minutes. Same with chat.. had to wait over 20 min for a live agent. Still couldn't get a solid answer. This is beyond ridicuolus. Obviously their goal is to cut down on sales staff and force the customer to go into their store, and are too dumb to realize how many potential clients are being lost due to lack of speedy communication channels. I'm willing to pay more for better customer service, therefore I'll be taking my purchases to your competitor. read more
