The store has alpt of variety but it is difficult to find help. I know they are nice folks at the store but it would've been nice if they offer me suggestions or ideas. The train store looks nice though but couldn't find the right parts I needed.

Great selection and service. Very personalized in that they will demonstrate the trains you are looking at on their track.

This store is dying. No more new stuffs. Most shelves were empty when I was there at Xmas time. Look like they will be out of business soon.

Have a wide assortment of supplies for the hobby. They don't sell the cheaply made stuff that disappoints after a few usages.

Game Kastle - Love coming to this store!

I was actually hesitant to write this because I thought I was being a little harsh, but I'm…read moreactually glad to write it now that I've seen the most recent reviews. Service here is shockingly lame and rude. I wasn't expecting that before I came in because I had a polar opposite experience on the phone with them. I actually called two days ahead to ask if they had something in stock that I needed sooner rather than later and couldn't find anywhere else nearby (not even at the other locations). They had one left and the guy on the phone was super nice when I asked if it would be alright if they held it for two days. He didn't even hesitate and set it aside for me. When I went in to pick it up, I was met with stone cold silence from the guy behind the counter. There was another guy in front of the counter who I assumed was a customer at first, but when they stopped talking and he went back to working, I realized he was an employee too. Neither said a single word to me or my brother when we walked in, the only customers in the store. They saw us, kept talking to each other, and ignored us. Even when I was standing right in front of the guy behind the counter, looking at stuff at the front of the cash wrap, he didn't say a word, making it painfully obvious he was pretending I wasn't there. It was blatant enough to make me feel awkward and very clearly unwanted in the store. Even his phone demeanor was disgruntled. Within a handful of seconds and the customer's first question, annoyance was creeping into his voice and he was doing everything to end the call as soon as possible. I worked retail for five years at a GameStop. I'm of the mind that employees should be making the first greeting when someone walks in. Customers can take their business anywhere but they've decided to take it to you -- do the bare minimum as a worker and person and say, "Hi, welcome in." When it finally came time to pay, dude behind the counter had the enthusiasm of a corpse and personality of a wet sock. Totally transactional. Even my brother, who tried to make very minimal small talk, was unsuccessful with getting any reaction out of the guy. Great place to go if you love tabletop games, board games, and getting treated poorly. Not so great if you're a card collector, especially Pokémon. They hardly had anything in stock on this particular day. Not interested in coming back another day to see if stock gets replenished. No reason at all to come back here.

I thought it might be a little early, but my wife urged us to at least give it a try. I found this establishment on Yelp and headed there after work. The location is a near the 101 offramp, in industrial center, generally used for Mechanics and small shops. It was not too hard to find and there seems to be ample parking. Once i walked inside, there were 100s of built kits in a display, which is very cool to look at. I believe the owner, greeted me and asked if it was my first time. I answered "yes" and asked for recommendation for my son. He recommended for a Pokemon Kit or and SD kit as they were easy to build and would be a good start. Once i walked into the main area, there was a plethora of kits available. Lots of Gundam and other anime figures were available. I ended up deciding on Rising Freedom Gundam SD Kit for my son as it looked fairly straight forward. For myself i decided to get a RG Kit, which looks like more detailed than the kits i built during my high school days. Once i was ready, i spoke to the owner on the cost and it was lower than what i would have purchased online and we had a short chat. Overall i really enjoyed looking around and having nostalgia of looking at some of the Gundams from when i was younger. P.S. My son was able to build the kit. Took a little bit of help for stickers and helping him follow the instructions but it went pretty well.

It was the holiday season three years ago and wanted to get my son a particular Gunpla kit. I…read moredrove to Tatsu and was told the shipment had not arrived at the store and to check back another week. Another week later, I called the store and was told the shipment still hadn't arrived and to order through their website. I went to their website specified the details of my order with notes to rush it to me once it comes in. I was ready to pay and even drive there to pounce on the hard-to-find pre-order kit to surprise my son. With great anticipation, we waited and waited and didn't hear a pip from Tatsu. Christmas came and went. New Year came and left. No news or any form of communication from Tatsu. In between, I called several times and was to the same thing, order from their so-called skimpy amateurish elementary website. Three years later, I have still not gotten any response from Tatsu. It was a massive disappointment, no doubt. I felt like a failure to my kid. This is a very belated gripe, which I need to award Tatsu.

The collection is…read moremassive, with every genre and skill level covered, and the upkeep is genuinely impressive: every single card is individually sleeved in plastic, so the games always feel brand new. The space is spotless, well-organized, and the staff make you feel instantly welcome. They've also got snacks and drinks on hand, so there's zero reason to leave once you've settled in. Needless to mention, unlike almost any other board game cafe in the Bay Area, they don't charge you just to sit and play. On top of that, they have a huge collection of comic books, board games, and comics-related items and artifacts available to purchase, so it's easy to walk out with more than you came in for. I love this place so much that it's always hard for me to leave. They close at 7 PM on weekends, and every single week, I find myself wishing I had just a little more time before heading out. If you want a calm, genuinely fun way to spend an afternoon, this is the spot in the entire Bay Area.
