Ok, new manager, a lot of new staff... and it smells better. Wide variety of games for sale, prices are good, not great but they are good. TCG is meh, no case (no real room for it really), they have game event nights which is nice. No real single collection to go through. Tables for mini war gamers, battletech, warhammer, conquest, stars and all that jazz. That's who this store is really meant for. Great selection of paint and tools. Overall a great hobby store, if it's TCG (specifically MTG) was better I would give the store 5/5 stars. Who knows what the future holds though! If they improve this I will update this again.

I want to be clear that the staff was very kind but the service follow through was lacking. On the official Discord it was posted that customers would be able to purchase 3 packs of Lorcana Boosters and a single other item. This was not the case. The first customer to be allowed to purchase was seen buying a Disney 100 Gift Set, a Floodborn Trove, and a playmat. It's unclear if they also purchased boosters. These are some of the most sought out items and to be waiting in line and see this happen was distressing and felt wholly unfair. I missed out on my purchase of the item I wanted, while I watched this man make out like a bandit I wish the posted rules on the official Discord had been followed. I met with other customers at the Fremont Game Kastle who were also at the Santa Clara location earlier that morning who also witnessed this purchase. Fremont Game Kastle did a great job at making sure each customer only purchased one item. I'm not going to be returning to the Santa Clara location after seeing how this release was handled.

I liked this shop as it has a variety of board games but this is the reason why everyone orders from Amazon instead of local businesses. I wanted to buy Dominion second edition so I checked online and found out Amazon was selling it for 33 (with delivery) and game kastle was selling it for 38. I like to support local business so I decided to visit game kastle and buy it from there instead despite higher price. When I reached there I realized the local price for the same game was 45 and they didn't match with their own website. Lol what? I paid about 11-12 dollars extra which is like 33% higher price and had to pick up from the store. You should buy from here if you need guidance on what to get otherwise if you know what you want, other online places would be cheaper.

Hey, thank you for thinking of us! We currently do not buy Pokemon cards. I believe Channel Fireball does, you may want to check with them. Best wishes!

When I first walked in, the box was clearly marked at $359.99. I went to the counter, and to be fair, the employee was helpful and gave me a reasonable offer of $365 in store credit, which I agreed to. No issues there. But when we walked over to grab the hobby box, the price had suddenly jumped to $510.99. That's a huge difference, and it happened while I was literally in the store. When I pointed it out, I was told they were "updating prices" and that they could only honor the original price if I had taken a picture of it. That's not how you run a business. Changing prices during store hours--especially while a customer is actively making a purchase--is unprofessional and unfair. Expecting customers to take pictures of price tags just in case they change minutes later is ridiculous. I understand prices fluctuate, especially in collectibles, but updates like that should be handled before opening or after closing--not in the middle of a transaction. This experience left a bad impression, and I'd be cautious about doing business here again.

Believe me! I come from the Monterey Bay Area every other Sunday and I enjoy just browsing at times, it's that nice. The shop has a good variety of of gunpla, Figma/sh figuarts, other nick nacks like nippers and stickers, they even carry P-Bandai at times! They have a very vast collection of Hg's all the way from Gundam AGE to the newish GQuuuuuux series, though there's not as Mg's as Hg's their selection is still quite the treat! Their Rg's are spread a bit thin at the moment but that's honestly a problem from Bandai as they're not releasing that many Rg's now a days. And lastly of course the Pg's, I don't really remember which specific Pg's I saw but I know I saw at least 2 of them in their which is very nice . Their pricing is very nice as it stays close to the original Japanese price and if not it's maybe no more than a dollar increase. The staff there are also very nice and I love to have brief conversations with the (I believe is) owner of the shop about what's new or when they get a new shipment. This spot is a hidden Gem and I highly recommend going there if you're in town or have been simply considering if or if not to go. 10 out of 10 shop and it's a pleasure being able to grow up going to such a nice shop

I asked the owner and he mentioned Tatsu hobby as it wasn't far away. First off, this place is kind of hard to find as it is in a completely nondescript industrial complex and far back from the street. There is no way you would just be driving around and come across this place, you have to be searching for it. Also the layout of the store is weird. You first enter into a small room with a couple of display cases, (nothing you can buy I think), with a small desk and a cash register to the right. There was a small man sitting there having a conversation with a person so I wasn't quite sure what to do. My first thought was, "This is it?" But then I noticed there is another room through a open door in the back, so I proceeded through. This is where the kits actually are. The main room is pretty cramped with a few shelves of kits and a table that 3 people were sitting eating at and having nerdy discussions. I wanted to ask a question but I wasn't sure if they worked there or not. I didn't really see that there was really any sort of organization to the store other than the Gundams pretty much seem to be along the rear of the room and other types of kits are near the front. My biggest gripe is that none of the boxes have a price sticker on them. You have to ask the guy up front. Lame. And the couple of kits I asked about were priced higher than other places I normally buy from like Newtype. I'll just stick with Newtype in Union City from now on. Unfortunately they are only open M-F but they do ship and I usually get my orders in a day or two. I wouldn't bother going to Tatsu again.

As a Noob, it could be very intimidating walking into a store full of equipment and not knowing what to get. My wife and I felt none of that, as we were helped with great service and left knowing that I'll be coming back for parts later. NorCal has a wide range of gifts that are hobby grade toys. They're not your typical Target/Walmart toys but a little better quality for not much more. I love the selection here. Service is key for hobby stores. NorCal excelled today as I was a little unsure how some of these hot wheels looking cars work. A man with Xmas lights necklace came out and showed how fun they can be. A 1:43 scale car can drift right out of the box! One dude started showing off a tiny RC drone, and another was busy helping a customer on RC parts. I don't know how they can staff so many people but they sure did today. Although I was expecting each gift item to be around $50 for each gift, there were some really cool micro gifts like remote control hot wheels for about $25. Last year I bought some RC warbird planes for about $100 each. I didn't see them this time around but that's ok. I want to give a proper review outside of Xmas shopping. I'll return when I'm ready to upgrade my Traxxas truck.

When other customers tried to ask questions, the same staff member was dismissive and rolled his eyes a few times, which made the overall atmosphere feel unwelcoming. A store like this should feel fun and inviting, especially for collectors and fans who are genuinely excited to be there. That said, I want to be clear that I do like this store overall and have had positive experiences with other staff members in the past, who have always been friendly and helpful.
