I purchased an Axial SCX30 a week ago and have returned twice for parts. The staff is kind and helpful. They have an insane crawler room with everything from 1/30 to 1/10 scale. They have challenging lines for you to push your rig to its limits!

Great Xmas shopping haul. All of this for $175!

A Christmas Review Story... I went here to find gifts for boys ranging from 5-23yo. I came out with a perfect haul of more than just stocking stuffers. NorCal has a wide range of gifts that are hobby grade toys. They're not your typical Target/Walmart toys but a little better quality for not much more. I love the selection here. Service is key for hobby stores. NorCal excelled today as I was a little unsure how some of these hot wheels looking cars work. A man with Xmas lights necklace came out and showed how fun they can be. A 1:43 scale car can drift right out of the box! One dude started showing off a tiny RC drone, and another was busy helping a customer on RC parts. I don't know how they can staff so many people but they sure did today. Although I was expecting each gift item to be around $50 for each gift, there were some really cool micro gifts like remote control hot wheels for about $25. Last year I bought some RC warbird planes for about $100 each. I didn't see them this time around but that's ok. I want to give a proper review outside of Xmas shopping. I'll return when I'm ready to upgrade my Traxxas truck.

Awesome service, nice and very knowledgeable staff. I was looking for a mini crawler, and called to see if they had it available, they were friendly over the phone and when I went over they helped answer all my questions. The location is also great, they usually have events in their parking lot, and inside there are tracks for racing and crawling. From what I saw they had a huge inventory, and I bought my rc at MSRP which is great.

I am so impressed with the staff at Nor Cal Hobbies. They are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Will helped me find everything I needed and suggested some stuff to improve my experiences with my RC vehicles. I will continue to support them. These days it is so easy to shop online, but it is so nice to deal with people who know what they are doing.

I absolutely love . We all the way out from Santa Cruz because my son enjoys being here and driving on the indoor track! It's only $25 for the day to drive and the team is so helpful if any parts need to be replaced! They have an awesome selection of RC planes and boats and and buggies.

My grandson and I stopped by NorCal Hobbies to pick up some parts for his big monster truck. Will, the manager, was incredibly welcoming and took the time to help us troubleshoot and answer all our questions. Even though the shop was busy, he went out of his way to assist with the setup and get the truck running smoothly again. The store is well-stocked with just about everything you'd need to stay on the track. Thank you, Will, for your outstanding help. We highly recommend NorCal Hobbies to anyone looking for support or parts for their RC cars and trucks.

Took my boys to get their very first RC car and we had the best time. The guys working there were super patient and really knew their stuff. They explained everything in a way that made it fun and easy to understand, even for total beginners like us. Felt more like hanging out with cool RC experts than shopping! The kids were over the moon excited and honestly I was too. We've gotten so many compliments on the car and the boys are still playing with it every single day. It's holding up like a champ and we already can't wait to upgrade it! Seriously such a fun experience. Whether you're a kid or just a kid at heart, this place is awesome. Go check it out and prepare to become slightly obsessed like we did PS: they host parties, teach kids how to build, and you can also come race cars on their cool tracks!

My son and I had such a fun time at Nor-Cal Hobbies. We recently got into RC rock crawling and found this place in the south bay. Le me tell you it's worth the drive. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Made us feel right at home. The cost to crawl your RC cost $10 for all day use. No complaints here! They also a wide selection of everything you need for your RC hobby. During our time they had a big race event, which looked awesome. Oh yeah, having a big bathroom for there customers and easy parking was a huge plus.

I am new to the RC hobby. Coming to NorCal-Hobbies, the staff makes you feel welcome and are available for troubleshooting and answering any questions I have. I would like to give a special thank you to Landon. He went above and beyond, helping with getting my first build completed and setup. I have attended a few Boot Camps and plan to attend many more. Eric's knowledge and patience with beginners and children is remarkable. They have a well stocked hobby shop where you can find pretty much everything you could need to keep you on the track. Pit tables are available at first come first serve, and are fitted with pit mats, for all your adjustments and charging needs. My only complaint is that it took me so long to find this hidden gem. Thank you Eric, Landon, Will and the NorCal hobbies team.

Couldn't be happier haven't had my rc cars going in a while, one trip to Norcal got all my trucks back in action looking better than ever!! From the tire choices to color selection to the countless options of new toys!! Definitely a place to check out!

This place is the place for racing fixing and shopping for RC cars! Great staff. They won't oversell you. In fact they try to save you money whenever they can. What retailer will do that? The collegial vibes in the pits makes you want to bring your cars and stay a while absorbing the great energy and knowledge from other hobbyists. Definitely go to check out Friday night races. You can watch and learn a ton too. My son loves this place!

I totally forgot the names, but the one I ordered had mint in it and was definitely strong! As someone who doesn't drink very often, it definitely hit me pretty quickly, but it was really good and not overly sweet. My friend ordered the drink with the flower garnish, which was a piña colada. It was sweet, refreshing, and super enjoyable. The ambiance was such a vibe, and the staff were amazing. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and consistently checked on us while we were at the bar. Even after we sat down, I noticed several employees walking around collecting empty glasses and keeping everything tidy, which is something you don't see everywhere and really stood out to me. Overall, it was a great experience with chill bar vibes, great drinks, and excellent service. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm looking for a fun and relaxed night out.

There are two entrances - one on the second floor of the mall and an outside entrance on the same side of the 24 hour fitness. For both entrances, they will wand you for any weapons to ensure safety. From there, you can explore to find claw machines, arcade machines, a bowling alley and pool tables and darts. The collection of claw machines are from pop culture like Hello Kitty, One Piece, and cute animals. There are specific claw machines where you'll need to glad a staff member so they can unlock the machine and give you your prize. My partner wasn't too pleased by the collection of plushies since her round 1 in Roseville has a lot more to offer. Nonetheless, it was fun as we all got stuffed animals.

I walked into a space that gets loud and warm during busy periods, and cleanliness varied by section, but the overall setup gave my group plenty of options for a few hours of entertainment. The arcade is the strongest part of the offering. I found the selection of rhythm games solid and reasonably well maintained, and the claw and gacha style machines are what Round1 does better than most chain arcades. That said, individual claw machine plays run around four dollars, which adds up quickly if I am playing multiple rounds, and the tension on the machines is inconsistent enough that results feel more variable than skill based. The prize section near those machines tends to run warm compared to the rest of the floor. Racing games, fighting games, and photo booths fill out the rest of the arcade floor, and the overall variety was broad enough to keep my group occupied. Bowling is available but came with some caveats. The ball selection skewed toward smaller finger holes and very heavy options, with limited middle ground, so bringing my own ball would be worth considering if I bowled regularly. Party packages are available and include shoes and games, which streamlines the booking process for larger groups. For a casual group outing, birthday celebration, or evening with a mix of activities on offer, Round1 covers the bases adequately. Going in with realistic expectations about the cost per activity makes the experience more enjoyable. It is not a refined destination, but for what it is, it delivered a fun few hours.

Checking in was fine, except I was asked to fill out a paper version of something I already filled out online. I had pre-ordered shirts for us, and they had my son's no problem. My shirt couldn't be found, and after having me wait for 30 minutes while they organized the shirt pile I had to demand one of the "same day sale" shirts because they were about to sell out and no one else thought of that solution. We finally get into the event and its dark. Its hot. We aren't allowed any outside drinks, not even water. Every game that wasn't broken (a lot were) seemed to have a line, and no one was in a hurry to let others play. They are held at California Extreme in Santa Clara, Golden Gate Pinball Festival in Lodi and Pin-a-Go-Go in Dixon. California Extreme is not exclusive with Pinball Machines. There are also tons of arcade games for those who enjoy them. We have enjoyed attending these events whenever we're able to. In the past, our work schedules often got in the way. Now that we're retired, our vacation schedules often cause conflicts. The people who run this event have always done a tremendous job of getting others to bring their beloved machines, set on free play, for the masses to play. In return, they get free admission. A substantial number of volunteers are also needed to load-in, load-out, wipe down, perform minor repairs, scorekeepers, registration, check-in, etc., etc. We attend to see Pinball Machines that we've never seen before, to play with machines that are hard to find, to play new machines, but mostly to play in the tournament. Yes, there are cash purses and trophies or plaques to be one. Bragging rights galore! But for players at my level, it's mostly about WPPR Points that affect your International Flipper Pinball Association Ranking. As I write this review, I am 8640 out of 103,576 players in the world. Does it mean anything? Only to my ego. At one time, I was sub-3000. I simply don't play in enough tournaments to keep my ranking. This year's tournament entry fee was $2 per game. That is not particularly expensive BUT there was no limit to the number of entries that one could purchase. This changes that tournament of skill and luck to one of skill, luck and DEEP POCKETS. In my opinion, there should be a single buy-in. Everyone plays the same number of games on the games that are available. Yes, this will reduce the prize money but so what? Whatever happens, happens. If you have a great day, congratulations. If you have a lousy day, better luck next year. But under the unlimited buy-in, you just keep putting out money until you have a few good games to tie together for your final score. What? The tournaments almost over but you're in 11th place and only the first 10 places are in the money. Well, play some more and hope to improve your score and win! Anyway, without the tournament to play in, I will either only attend California Extreme one day only or skip it all together moving forward. Additionally, this year, for the first time, the Hyatt is now charging $40 to park overnight. This was either not disclosed at the time of booking or I somehow missed it. When I complained, it was discounted $20 because I was staying there for California Extreme and another $10 because I'm a Hyatt member. I was told that, "all the other area hotels are charging more for parking and the Hyatt is just trying to catch up." There was a 49ers exhibition game on Saturday, August 19th, and parking was expected to be at a premium and traffic would be a zoo. To counter that, we arrived way early to get a space. We arrived at 8:30 for a 10:00 opening. Because we left the house so early, we didn't have time to eat breakfast, but we had plenty of down time in the hotel (check-in was at 3:00pm), so we opted for breakfast in the hotel (see our review for Evolution). Breakfast Buffet at $28 per person vs Continental Breakfast at $22 per person. So, while California Extreme is still lots of fun, between the costs and the crowds and a Deep Pocket Tournament, it may be time for us to move on.
