First time visiting this place and I WILL be returning to this location from now on! I've been looking for a kpop store that has a lot of diversity in terms of artists and has a ton of inventory. AND a place that sells individual photocards?? Instantly sold. I don't know any store that sells individual photocards, and it really makes completing collections and sets so much easier. I was very impressed by the middle table they had in the middle of the store that had many binders organized by groups with individual member PCs that you can purchase. The PCs are a little overpriced, but compared to Mercari shipping/fees and other third party sites, the PCs are basically what you can find at retail. You can basically justify Kandy Pop's prices with the instant gratification without waiting for shipping lol. But overall you can basically buy many photocards for the price of one album which is HUGE! I also love that they have a POB lucky draw/gatcha machine that rotates groups/sets regularly for $5/pull or with an album purchase. You can also sell your extra photocards here! If you have large quantities of PCs, you'd need an appointment but if you have a small handful (like I did), they will probably just buy your cards on the spot. They also have a wide selection of photocard holders, deco stickers and accessories, random assortment of trinkets, stationery, and blind boxes. This place is located inside a plaza inside Vietnam town. Parking may be difficult during peak hours but isn't too bad overall. read more

I came here twice to get Christmas gifts. I got two different Stray Kids albums with photo cards and the Enhypen lightstick. While other stores didn't have it, this place did. The 15% end of year discount totally helped too. They also had pickets, but they had a smaller supply. If you need Kpop items in the Bay, be sure to stop by here! The place was packed, so things do sell out, but they have a larger inventory that I can see, versus other stores. I've been going to this shop when it first opened downtown and it was like a tiny, joy-filled closet. I great to see how much they've grown and seeing the community they've built is amazing. The best little hidden secret in Vietnam Town, Kandy Pop! I was looking for the new Kiss of Life comeback, Lose Yourself. They had the Natty version Jewel version I was searching for. Inside I scored a Julie sunflower photo card, and a Julie postcard. Not a bad pull, when it's one of your bias wreckers! I hope to find the Natty PC's from this latest comeback! I love this place! I've been looking for a good place for kpop items that's also near my house and I am SO glad there's one in Vietnam Town. I go here regularly and I'm ALWAYS happy with my purchases. The prices here are a bit expensive but it's good for albums and photo cards! You can get so many photocards for the exact value of one kpop album and it's just amazing. Not only kpop stuff, they also sell makeup, collectibles like smiskis and sonny angels, and candy! Some items are pre-loved and sold for cheaper which is also really nice for those who just want something for cheaper. The employees here are really nice too! Another k-pop store in the Bay Area and I am impressed to see how much variety they had in stock! They had most of the latest album releases and Jungkook's "Seven" on repeat inside. The store is locally owned and operated, so I was happy to see so much effort put into decor. Everything was well organized and easy to find. Newest K-Pop store in town and it's every bit as cute as you would think the name would suggest. Located in an unsuspecting plaza, there is a good amount of parking available and no need to pay for it. Otherwise, there is street parking around the area, as well. The shop itself is on the small side and it can feel cramped if it's crowded so be patient and take it easy. There's a ton of things to look through - albums, photo cards, stickers, snacks, lightsticks, etc. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything coming in here and I lied because there was a lot of things that were temping to get and I did spend some money, but I'll get over it. The owners were friendly and answered any questions. I'd suggest coming here for all your K-pop needs because they had things here that I haven't even seen at other stores. I've visited Kandy Pop several times, even at their previous location in downtown SJ. They've come a long way, and it's been fun to see them expand! They have a great variety of kpop albums and groups. They also have a lot of accessories. During my most recent visit, they even had a section of Target exclusive albums that were being sold at lower prices! My reasoning for giving 3 stars is because of the not-so-great customer service. I'm generally a quieter customer but the couple of times I've asked staff questions, I've been met with judgey looks and at best, disinterest. When I've brought friends to this store, they've all pointed out how this place doesn't feel as warm and welcoming as other kpop or even hobby stores. Other reviews have pointed out the lack of greeting or offering help finding things, and I can confirm. Also in my most recent visit, the staff at the front desk was facetiming someone else, and when my friend and I were ready to check out, the staff member gave the impression she was annoyed that we interrupted her conversation. This place is really fun especially since it's located within Vietnam Town. I would love to visit more, but because of the customer service, I typically prefer to go to other kpop stores. read more

By far best kpop store I ever been to so far. They have soooo much selection for a small store, and a lot of stuff from albums, to photo cards, to merch. They even have magazines with your favorite kpop idols on them. Legit drove 4hrs just to visit this place, and was not disappointed. Was able to get the blackpink mini lightstick and also the touchland hand sanitizer. You also get freebie photo cards too. Will forsure be back here when we go back to the bay. read more

A very cute kpop store in Vietnam Town! They have a big variety of albums (unfortunately not the ones I wanted but that's not their fault) and have tons of photocards and even pokémon cards! One thing that's really unique about them is that they have lots of Japanese release albums that others stores usually don't have, as well as lots of magazines, pc holders, and sleeves. I did notice that the girl working did not greet us at the door and did not say anything unless we asked her something first, which I really didn't mind. On the way out there is a place to take one "freebie" of their store printed photocards which was really nice (and did not require a purchase)! read more

I visited Kandy Pop during their Grand Opening, and it was so much fun. They had a photo card decorating station, a self-serve snack section from Boo's snack mix, and first 40 customers got a cute sleeve of Blackpink Oreos! I walked out of there with V's Vogue magazine, Jung Kook's look book and a Jung Kook snack pack! Super thrilled to have a kpop store so close to home! Can't wait to return for new drops. read more

I love the new location! Bigger and surrounded in an area where we run errands. The space is also great with more parking and other shops and eateries. I love the framed pictures, poster wall and projector of music videos! It's open with high ceilings so it is a pleasant shopping experience. It seems like they can display more merchandise here! I love going here every time im at San Jose! I was able to find my Enhypen Ggu Ggu package which I really wanted, and I got Jungwon who's my bias! There is so many things that I got to pick and choose from and I wanted everything. The staff were very helpful and kind. I was so happy that I saw that they made a Jungwon freebie photo card. There is tons of things to view but it is kind of expensive if you are looking to buy anything here.

My friends and I went to visit Kandy Pop and shared uncomfortable experiences during our visit. When we first walked in, we were all admiring the decorations they put up around the store and noticed that they didn't acknowledge us or welcome us in which we brushed off. While I was looking at albums and my friends were looking at the photocard binders they had out, we noticed the mom consistently staring at us, I felt uncomfortable but again decided to just brush it off and continue to shop around. I kept looking up every so often and would keep noticing her glaring at either me or my friends. I felt that we were looking at everything respectfully and kept our tone at an appropriate level. We felt that we were judged by the owners when we would get excited. We especially noticed this behavior when we were over at the freebie section, and that was when I caught the mom glaring and side eyeing us again. I went up to pay for my items and both the mom and oldest daughter were acting very cold and only said the words "thank you" during our transaction. Overall, I'm not sure if we did anything to offend anyone, but we did not feel like we were welcome or belonged in that store. read more
