Great store for gundam enthusiasts considering 75% of the store is dedicated to gundams. There is a huge variety of kits here including some hard-to-find ones that are often out of stock online. They also have accessories such as markers which are $5 each. Store owner is friendly and very knowledgeable. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that prices are not marked and you would have to ask for the prices.

Rising freedom Gundam SD kit

I recently introduced my 5 Year old sun to Gundam Build Fighters recently and he has shown a lot of interest in building his own Kit. I thought it might be a little early, but my wife urged us to at least give it a try. I found this establishment on Yelp and headed there after work. The location is a near the 101 offramp, in industrial center, generally used for Mechanics and small shops. It was not too hard to find and there seems to be ample parking. Once i walked inside, there were 100s of built kits in a display, which is very cool to look at. I believe the owner, greeted me and asked if it was my first time. I answered "yes" and asked for recommendation for my son. He recommended for a Pokemon Kit or and SD kit as they were easy to build and would be a good start. Once i walked into the main area, there was a plethora of kits available. Lots of Gundam and other anime figures were available. I ended up deciding on Rising Freedom Gundam SD Kit for my son as it looked fairly straight forward. For myself i decided to get a RG Kit, which looks like more detailed than the kits i built during my high school days. Once i was ready, i spoke to the owner on the cost and it was lower than what i would have purchased online and we had a short chat. Overall i really enjoyed looking around and having nostalgia of looking at some of the Gundams from when i was younger. P.S. My son was able to build the kit. Took a little bit of help for stickers and helping him follow the instructions but it went pretty well.

The model I was looking for is still on its way to their shop but I end up getting this little guy and some other misc.

Absolutely 5 stars! This place is awesome I was googling around and I even went to japan town to find stuff. But most shop are just too over priced. People there are the right type to ask about gunpla. They know stuff! Release date and about different version and where to get it. I bought a couple model kits at the comic shop in amc 16 Cupertino. That shop's price was ridiculous. Plus they don't know much about the kit and for most of the store they ll just say what you see is what we got. This place has most of the kit from varies gundam series. So if you are looking for those main character you can get most of them in either HG MG. I was looking for some gm and jesta ( those die in 20 sec in the anime XD) however they don't carry much of them. Oh btw if you are also into zoids they have a bunch of choices as well. I like zoids but I really can build those tiny piece from that company. Kenobukaya? I forgot. The actually place is a bit deep inside the warehouse driveway. In front of it there's a recycle dumpster. If you see a group a otaku then you ve arrived!

The first time I went in there I wasn't really into Gunpla and I didn't know anything about Gundams at all.

When I first walked in, the box was clearly marked at $359.99. I went to the counter, and to be fair, the employee was helpful and gave me a reasonable offer of $365 in store credit, which I agreed to. No issues there. But when we walked over to grab the hobby box, the price had suddenly jumped to $510.99. That's a huge difference, and it happened while I was literally in the store. When I pointed it out, I was told they were "updating prices" and that they could only honor the original price if I had taken a picture of it. That's not how you run a business. Changing prices during store hours--especially while a customer is actively making a purchase--is unprofessional and unfair. Expecting customers to take pictures of price tags just in case they change minutes later is ridiculous. I understand prices fluctuate, especially in collectibles, but updates like that should be handled before opening or after closing--not in the middle of a transaction. This experience left a bad impression, and I'd be cautious about doing business here again.

After 30 minutes of looking through the box, I was about to finalize what I wanted, but then a different worker came up to me and said he was still looking through the cards. Out of consideration, I apologized and told him he could quickly look through the cards I was interested in. He then took about 80% of card from my stack for himself. Honestly, it felt extremely scummy and inconsiderate. Taking advantage of my politeness and leaving me with maybe 7 out of the 30 I had originally wanted. I understand that they'd want to look through the bulk before letting their customers to see, but I was told that I was allowed to look through the bulk?? And on top of that, they don't price the cards in their binders and go by tcgplayer pricing, which makes it difficult to determine what cards are worth buying. And their bulk is extremely disorganized. I had asked if they had any vintage pokemon cards and they told me there might be SOME in the 5 bigass boxes of bulk they had laid out. I had asked if they would ever organize the bulk, but they never gave me a clear answer, leaving me a bit peeved. They take the more valuable and prettier cards for themselves. Go to a different card shop that's better organized and fair.

My wife and I felt none of that, as we were helped with great service and left knowing that I'll be coming back for parts later. Service is key for hobby stores. NorCal excelled today as I was a little unsure how some of these hot wheels looking cars work. A man with Xmas lights necklace came out and showed how fun they can be. A 1:43 scale car can drift right out of the box! One dude started showing off a tiny RC drone, and another was busy helping a customer on RC parts. I don't know how they can staff so many people but they sure did today. Although I was expecting each gift item to be around $50 for each gift, there were some really cool micro gifts like remote control hot wheels for about $25. Last year I bought some RC warbird planes for about $100 each. I didn't see them this time around but that's ok. I want to give a proper review outside of Xmas shopping. I'll return when I'm ready to upgrade my Traxxas truck.
