I've come here the past couple times to grab my fiancee her comics but now I've recently gotten into comics too and have been searching for Jeff an Stitch Comics Anyways they're probably the only location I know that still mask up and even provide mask at the front door so it's very comforting knowing there's still a business that respects safety. You can never be too safe. You're greeted at the door and someone's always there to say hi and or help you for whatever you're looking for. I usually head straight to the back since that's where the comics are. Once done, I head to the left side of the store where there's someone ready to bag and board your comics for you. I just signed up for their membership and not sure what it entails but since I go so often, made sense to get it. They have a beautiful selection of comics for the right price and you won't have to question if it's above MSRP. Got me a new puzzle to take home since my bf and I just finished our last one over the weekend. A 1000-piece Alice in Wonderland theme with great artwork (Science & Media Museum collection). Service was sufficient, though I couldn't find anyone on the floor for assistance for quite some time, even with hardly any customers around. One employee was busy helping a chatty customer and the others were preoccupied behind counters or in the closed back section. The comic selection is great and I love how they have Pullbox to help order my comics to the store without worrying selling out. Definitely the largest current titles I've seen so far in SJ, I've seen them carry local comics too! For back issues, it's pretty small and more expensive than other shops but it's not what I really come here for. The store is LGBT friendly and are health conscious by providing mask to wear. A month ago I would've given this place 5 stars. The shop really is unmatched for the area. Great selection and excellent service, I almost NEVER left without buying something. I like that they're animal friendly and the vibe there was always good. It was literally my go to shop, and I don't live anywhere close to it. But I would make the trek because it felt so comfortable every time. Fast forward to now, sadly enough I just can't shop here anymore. I genuinely don't understand why masks are required for the first hour only? Do the germs just give up and go home after that? How are we closing in on the end of 2025, the pandemic ending in 2023 and you're still enforcing a mask mandate in your store? Look, ultimately you can make up any rules you want. It's your shop. I just personally find it off-putting. I wore a mask everywhere for 3 years, followed every mandate, got vaccinated, got boosted and after all that I'm still being told I need to mask up? Illusive Comics and Games is a huge store at the corner of Stevens Creek Blvd and Lawrence Expressway. It's to the left of the Harbor Freight Tools hardware store. We went in early November and they are requiring masks to enter. They do provide masks at the door if you don't have your own. They have a huge selection of blind boxes, board games, comic books, and Magic-related items. The right wall is lined with shelves of books with two small shelves of manga / anime materials. We ended up purchasing a few anime novels. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and came by several times to tell us about the specials or discounts with books or blind boxes. Illusive is one of the largest comic book shops I've been to in a long time and will be my go-to for anything comic book related. read more

They always have the best selection of comics and graphic novels, the employees are always willing to jump and run if you have a question, or are looking for something specific. The ONLY downsides I personally have are that some of the comics can be a tad pricey, and I'm not the biggest fan of face masks being mandatory when you enter the shop, but I'm willing to do it, due to my loyalty and love for the store. read more

If you need comics and/or you need games, you need to go to Illusive Comics & Games. They've got a huge selection of both, and they're really focused on growing the local community of gamers and comic-ers(?). Every staff member I've encountered here is helpful and I've never gotten any of the "know-it-all" attitude I've received at other game stores. The owner, Anna, is incredibly welcoming and has built a strong team around her. In addition to selling all the good things, they run a lot of events here as well - my kiddo took a "learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons" session and Drew, the DM, was phenomenal - very in tune with working with kids, and extremely creative, patient and informative. Its not the closest Comic shop to me but when I im in the area its a must the staff is super nice friendly as all get out. Their bathrooms and this a weird thing to mention but i have diabetes and have to go number 1 a lot i digress their bathrooms are the gold standard for any retail establishment. They have a killer selection of comics and everything else the layout is rad I low key miss their old location but they're still killing it and I love to support this shop when i can and in the area. The service is amazing, very friendly individuals who work here. There is a wide selection of graphic novels, kids books, and toys. My 2 year old loves running around to look at books and toys. The workers were very patient to have a little one running around. I appreciated the restrooms that had a baby changing table and feminine hygiene products. They have an incredible collection at this store of almost anything and everything related to comics and games like board games, comic books, merchandise like Funko, posters and other collectibles. They also have an area that's dedicated to groups wanting to play a wide selection of board games here by paying a nominal fee per hour. Games can also be rented and rental credit can be applied towards a purchase. A small discounted section(30% off) was set up as well for various items. Just stopped by to browse and loved the comic selections they had. The employees were really nice and I ended up walking away with some great back issues. The store was really clean and organized and it was easy to find everything. They also carry DND items, Funko Pops, trade paperbacks/graphic novels, board games, trading cards, manga, posters, and children's books+toys. A lot of the back issues and variant comics were a bit pricey compared to what I've seen at other comic book stores, but they also had a lot of rare finds as well. The staff here are so sweet! My memory is so bad, I cannot remember the name of the nice man who was explaining some cool store policies to us. For example, they rent out boardgames, but if you end up liking the game, you can use your rental fee towards the new game-that's awesome! I remember visiting them at their old location. I kind of miss it, but the new spot is very open and nice as well. They have a large boardgames and comic book collection. We actually just came by the new location by chance while in the plaza. There didn't seem to be any Gundam figures, but I might have missed it with so many things to look at! Will definitely be back! read more

Illusive is truly a gem of the Silicon Valley! Illusive's unique features, such as an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff and an impressive collection of (indie) TTRPGS, have significantly enriched my gaming life. I've yet to be steered wrong and have discovered so many obscure and novel games there, many more than I've found elsewhere in the area. Illusive's commitment toward the community is evident in their mask policies. As a caretaker for an immunocompromised family and someone with lupus, my options for SAFE third-places to meet new people and find a community are severely limited. Their mask policies, both the first-hour-ask-to-mask and the very reasonable requirement for group events, have been a life changing for me. Yes, there are some small fees for events. Employees routinely working late SHOULD be compensated, especially when they kindly make themselves available for knowledgeable help as judges in addition to their other retail duties. Otherwise, their gaming areas would be "dead" retail space, not generating any income when rental real estate is prohibitively expensive out here. This is an PLUS as most folks I have met at Illusive understand this nuance and are much better gamers and acquaintances for this. Newcomers, this is the store for you to try a new hobby. read more

I have been seeking another Comic Book store ever since the (Black Cat) comic store closed down in my area. By far, I consider this the best store out of all of the locations I have visited. Long story short, Illusive Comics features: -Organization -Professionalism -Friendliness -Up to date comics -Variety of inventory besides comics -Grading Appointments -A reliable Pullbox system (better than other shops) If you know what you want, the store can provide and surpass your expectations. These people do keep track of their comic selection so it is expected any ratio variants like maybe 1/25 will be more pricy. I personally don't mind driving to this place every week just to get comics every week. read more

Pretty amazing store that contains comics, figurines, and everything in-between. When we walked in, we were welcomed by a young cheerful lady who asked if there was anything in particular we were looking for, and that if we had any questions to not hesitate to let her or any of her coworkers know. There was quite a bit of people inside, especially for pokemon (i think to play the card game), which they had a place specifically designed for card playing at the back which is pretty cool. We came here to purchase a storage container for my boyfriend's cards, some sleeve protectors, and a unicorno figurine that my daughter wanted to get. The storage container was $10 which was a bit surprising; he used to buy these before and they were much less and it was the same kind as well. LONG overdue review. The boy and I have been coming here since they were at the Franklin Mall location. The new place is bigger and better and in a better location (NE corner of Lawrence and Stevens Crk). This place is great, the best and one of the biggest comic book shops in the area. Read all the other review. You'll find everything you need. Huge selection. If you can't find something, they'll help you find it -- maybe on another shelf, in a bin, online, you name it. Want to start a subscription to your favorite comic series? They'll help you do that too. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and courteous. My new favorite game shop! The store has such a wide variety of games, comics, and even funkos! I came here specifically for the dice- I heard they had a cool selection so i wanted to check it out. I ended up finding this really adorable rubix cube dice set- they're nice and hefty and perfect for D&D, so I'm super excited to use them. The shop associates are all super sweet and helpful as well. Great customer service! A few weeks ago, I took my daughter to target to get a gift for a friend and she came across this huge figurine of Bonnie from FNAF. You know the drill; you're buying gifts and your kids try to also gift them selves LOL. I told her not today and went on our merry way... well well well.. I went online looking for it maybe a week later, gone. Couldn't even find the listing.. I went to the manufacturers website... not shipping until January!! Let tell you, I looked everywhere. People either tried to resell it for double the price, or it wouldn't ship in time for Christmas. I was super bummed out. Luckily, at the last possible moment I remembered illusive Comics! I went in and was able to special order the figurine for my daughter and I picked it up last week! All the staff were super helpful. My daughter is going to be so happy!! Came here before shortly after they opened and recently last weekend and huge difference between now and then. Wide selection of comics and very nice people. Came in looking for a certain comic book and was gladly helped out finding the comic I was looking for as well as other comics that are associated with the story that I never knew about. Illusive has a wide variety of games, comics, graphic novels and funko pops! The store is fairly big and well organized. I came in to browse for comic books and graphic novels and was not disappointed. The products were all alphabetized making it easier to find things. They also have a clearance section as well as a dollar section for comic books. The service was excellent and fast. The employees greeted everyone who came through the door and were helpful with questions I had in regards to products and pricing. This is my local comics and game store. It's very cute and spacious. As a popular series would say, its bigger inside. The shop owner is very helpful and you can ask them any questions. I bought two comic books from here and in another time bought games for gifts with my roommate. There are shelves and shelves and shelves of comics. And an entire wall shelve dedication to board games with sprinkled card games in standalone shelves. There are a LOT. In the back corner of the store towards the left is dedicated table top section, for Warhammer for example. But throughout the store are different table top items. There is a kids section by the very front as well. Overall, a well rounded store. It's been a while since I've been here and have discovered that there is a small clearance section middle towards the back of the store. Which was a nice discovery. As well prior to recent, wearing a mask was required. Recently, there is a sign next to the entrance of wearing a mask and provided masks to wear in the store. I bought a comic book in-store and had one special order that I picked up later. Customer service is on top of it. For pick up, they called me and left a message of to pick up my ordered comic. Checkout is a bit confusing. I bought my comic book on one side of the wall but the last time I bought games middle towards the front. Was unaware that there was a register there. If you're buying games, they have a stamp card towards future purchase, which I thought was very cool. Its a bit expensive, but it is a small shop. If you don't buy online at all, these are reasonably priced. Friendly staff, organized shop, and a wide of variety for the masses. Give this tiny local shop a shot.
