I like this comics bookstore. My son goes here a lot ( every week!) and I love to go there during free comics book day!! Today is such a day. Besides the free comic book, the owner has booked a Smash Bros truck, a smashed burgers truck. We tried it, and the burgers were good!! A bit pricey ( 1$ extra for one slice of tomato and 1$ extra for some shredded lettuce ) but they were good! And somebody was selling coffee too. We sat in the car to enjoy our lunch, then went back to the store for more bargains. The bookstore has some outside vendors too. I bought a drawn book for my granddaughter, and they were some lovely bookmarks too. I bought some 3D printed Pokemon toys last year, but I was disappointed that vendor didn't come back. My local comic / games shop that I have a pull list with. The staff here have always been friendly, helpful, they have a comic section with books from the last year or so on the right side of the store which includes titles from Marvel, DC, Image, Dynamite, and a few titles from independents. I have not seen many back issues with the exception of wall comics. They have a pretty large area of clearance $1 comics on the left side of the store which seem to be 2-3 years old books. I like that these $1 boxes are on tables and my back appreciates that they are easy to sort through. They also have an inventory of collected editions which includes trade paperbacks, hardcovers, omnibus, and compendiums. The owner Kerry has tried to help me find some obscure current comic books a couple times which I appreciate. The staff have all been helpful and easy to work with. I believe they do a significant amount of business in trading card/game card these days, but still have a respectable comic offering. read more

Whenever I am in a new city (whether one I am visiting for the first time or one that I finally have time to explore I have started to look for two things. 1) a milk tea place 2) a card shop I was fortunate to have found this while driving around. I knew I had to check it out. It's a spacious shop with a bunch of tables for all their tournaments and game play events that are held. They have an extensive collection of all kinds of TCG and so forth. There's even some drinks sold! They sell other things besides TCG. I saw comics and DVDs. I saw VHS' as well! The one section I spent the most time on was the Bulk section. The Bulk is mostly DigiMon, Pokemon, Union Arena, and Magic. The great thing about buying bulk is that you could either get the cards for 1 cent a piece up to 12 cents a piece. After getting a ton of cards, I rolled the dice. I rolled a snake eye! That's two. I was able to buy the cards for 2 cents a piece. So I got about 100 cards for only $2! Insane! The people who work there are nice and very helpful. "Tournament headquarters!" I had a chance to talk to the friendly owner, Kerry, who explained the business to me. At first I thought it would just be comics, but it's a whole lot more than that. They have regular tournaments here, of every shape and size. The day that I visited there were several dozen fervent games being played. You can check online for the schedule of tournaments. They have a great selection of comics, as well as toys, card decks, books, and even wall decor. They have snacks also. Don't forget to try some of the brownies made by the owners wife. I found a decent selection of board games but I was expecting to see more, but I think it makes sense since half of the store is dedicated for comics as the name of the store suggests so, so I would not hold that against them. I appreciated that they had a section for "used" board games so that good games could be recycled and taken by new owners instead of just being tossed away or not used. read more

He gave us a really good deal. Overall, we left with a wonderful experience definitely coming back to the store and supporting this gentleman. Magic singles in my Bay Area? King Kong has a wide selection and a friendly owner. Certainly worth the trek from the East Bay for me. They happened to have some marked down EDH precons that I had missed on release. They also had insisted bulk mtg cards that I enjoyed sorting through for choice edh staples. read more

Awesome spot kind of in the cut out in Dublin. First time was during the day I flat out missed it because it doesn't look like a comic store from the outside. But it's a great shop with friendly folks and a BIG GAMING community in fact I think on weekends they stay open pretty late. Even during the week they'll be there on Wednesdays a few hours after even Crush has closed. I had a couple cool finds here that I missed elsewhere...Absolute Evil & DP vs. Batman. Went to King Kong Comics and Games for the first time last week since they made it to their newer location. They have a large selection of comics, having the new releases of the week in one are and all the previous issue in another area to prevent mix up. They also sale a lot of different board games as well as various TCG's including Pokemon (Both singles, booster boxes). Staff is nice, however they're can be a little of bit of weight at the register if they are occupied opening cards or trading them with customers. Card tournaments are also held here so it can get a little crowded on the weekends but the space is huge overall. read more

Nice simple setup with the necessities, games, cards etc. For Pokemon they have individual cards that they sell. The pricing isn't marked so they need to look up pricing but it's not far off from what you would expect with online values and don't have to bother with shipping. Their pack pricing and box pricing is about average, or also to say, not really discounted. Workers seemed friendly and seems like a nice place to go back. I called to reserve a box and asked what the price was for op-05 one piece. They told me $120 for the box and they would hold two for me. Came in today to pick it up and paid for it with a few other items. Got to driving away and checked they charged $150 per box. I called and thought it was a mix up but nope because they said it sold so fast they up charged and did it without telling me. The box itself says $120. This is false advertising and unacceptable. I will be also contacting the better buisness bureau to report them. I will I'll never shop here again hope $30 was worth a cost of a customer read more

I just spent about 3+ hours here going through their Pokémon bulk and I'm not going to lie, it was enjoyable. First time visit so I didn't know what to expect. The young couple that ran the counter were awesome! The way they did the cost for bulk cards gets a thumbs up from me, as I felt it was better than fair. Lots of Magic, One Piece, Pokémon and even a Vanguard bulk box to go through. I don't play them besides collecting Pokémon cards but looks like a good selection for all. A few cases for Pokémon solos that I need to check out again. Purchased 11 bulk cards (I was only looking for Pokémon that I liked) + a V and left happy. Would definitely come back here. read more

Kerry is truly passionate about comics, and it shows with his generosity and encyclopedic knowledge in this field. Even when unable to transact in the actual store, he let me come to his home to drop some comic books off. He generously sent multiple issues to CGC to be graded on my behalf, after first getting them pressed for me. The grades came back much higher than expected as a result of his experienced guidance! A truly great experience working with King Kong Comics...I recommend this business to anyone who is even remotely interested in the fascinating world of comic books! Probably one of the nicer and cleanest Comic and Game stores in the Bay Area. When you first walk in you see an area on the right with tables set up for gamers to gathers. On the left is multiples aisles of board games, table games, comics, toys and gaming accessories. Walk towards the back and you'll see the trading cards. I'm a returning yugioh player and I was very happy to see this place had a box of singles to go through. I was very happy to find a few cards to add to my collection and even more happy to find cards I need to build a deck with. As far as singles and bulk cards, They seem to have more of an MTG selection than Yugioh and Pokemon. Like most TCG shops, they use TCGplayer to price their singles and case display cards. I had a rough idea of how much all the cards but I honestly couldn't tell you of I overpaid by a few dollars or got a really good deal and saved a few dollars. But I will say that I made a deal with the associate that sounded reasonable. I was given a price, saved time and I left happy. I only spent $30 on a few cards and sleeves. If I was spending more I would've taken a little more time to look up the prices, but either way this place did not disappoint. Nonetheless, great store with awesome selection! I was fully willing to spend some money at this store & my brief experience made me decide to never go back here. I was in the store for less than 5 minutes during a very not busy hour. The employee at the front counter was having a light conversation with another customer and their attention remained there. I was simply not acknowledged at all, and honesty if the employee had given me a simple "Hi, welcome in" I probably would've bought something, even though they didn't have the specific product I was looking for AND they up charge. THIS PLACE HAS SCAMMED ME AND STOLEN MY CARD. Over a year ago (July 17th 2023) I sent in a $300+ card (Regirock Goldstar) to be graded in person. To this date I have called numerous times in attempt to get my card or money back in which the owner, Kerry has said he couldn't do. They also told me that PSA at times takes several months (up to 6-7) to receive cards back which turned out to be a complete lie since they didn't even submit my card since they lost it in storage (explained later.) I've even asked for receipts and documentation that proves my card has been sent in and the owner has stated they're at his house which he is not able to access. 5 months after the original send in date they said they found the card again in storage and said it hadn't been sent in, which they proceeded to 'send in' without my knowing (I'm sure they still haven't been sent in and my card might've been sold by now.) This experience has happened to TWO of my friends as well as me. I used to support this shop but now I'm absolutely outraged at what has happened. Please raise awareness to any new visitors as this scam has been obvious and reoccurring. I have yet to find a solution and am still attempting to contact the shop before taking necessary action. This is a pretty special place. They're vigorously rebuilding after taking a big hit after COVID. The community from recent years is pretty amazing and supportive of KK getting back up and running. I only recently discovered the store after moving to the area and checking out a few other places. The playspace here can't be beat, as it has a lot more room to spread out than some of the tiny microshops around. Check before you go, as they're still building their stock back up and getting their regular store hours back to normal. Gordon is my favorite, as he seems to be willing to help anyone even a kid! There are two other staff members/owners who can be a bit of a hit or miss depending on if they're busy or not. I usually go maybe twice or once a month and all the time I always go for the Pokemon cards, but they also have a wide selection of comics, magic, and more. This seems to be a very popular place where a lot of people come to play Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh. They set up at least five tables outside. Where or how do I start...? Parking: Super easy. I ALWAYS find parking right in front of the storefront. Appearance: Super clean and organized. Most comic stores are cluttered and lightweight dusty. I did not get that feeling or thin layer of grime when I left. Selection: I am specifically working on filling out my Uncanny X-Men run so they had ample comics in great condition for solid prices. They have a pretty small selection of graphic novels but again, I rather have the floppies. Customer service: A1. That's it that is all. Again, most comic stores customer service is lacking. That was not the case here. Take aways: Every Saturday @4, they have a comic live stream on their IG Page (definitely check it out). I normally do not go all the way to Pleasanton for anything, but due to their great prices and customer service, I will definitely come here often! read more

Another LCS that will over charge you on comics, you bring it to the register and they will sit there and look up the price on eBay or up charge you for something that is definitely labeled as $3.99 but wants to charge you $20. Don't waste your time here. I tried to explain to them but they just used eBay as an excuse. If I wanted eBay prices I'd just shop on eBay. I won't be back. You just lost another customer because of this garbage. I'll find it cheaper online anyway, and without all of the fingerprints. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

This is an amazing LGS "local gaming store" for Magic the Gathering (which is what I play) and Pokémon (what my kids play)! The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. They price everything based off of TCGplayer.com, which gives them super competitive pricing and means that customers are not getting ripped off, but instead a great deal. They have amazing stock for these card games, but they also have an incredible sales floor full of board games, toys, gaming accessories! They have so much stock compared to most other LGSs, and I've been able to pick up needed singles for both myself and my kids and sometimes better than online prices, without any wait. I can't recommend this place enough! read more
