A cool find while walking around downtown. This store was very nostalgic. They have comics, figures, card games, TCGs, etc etc. It was overwhelming looking around because there is so much to see. Definitely need more than a visit to see everything. My anxiety was high seeing how everything was stacked and stored and displayed, but I enjoyed seeing toys and games. read more

As a comic and collectible nerd, I highly recommend this place. This place is like your older friend with boxes of collectibles, comics and cards on the floor of his man cave. They have a scary amount of comics and cards. Scary because you start thinking this could be a fire hazard with all this paper. And that would be a sad day to lose all this collectibles. The owner sits behind the register so you know you'll get all your questions answered. He is also willing to negotiate a fair price. This store is located at the corner of Main Street so I recommend getting a bite to eat among all the restaurants then burning off those calories by visiting this store! read more

This place has a lot of comics and toys/collectibles. You can definitely lose track of time in here. My son was able to find a couple of comics he was looking for. Parking can be a bit of a hassle at times but worth it. Glad to support local businesses. read more

Stumbled upon this place while walking through downtown Livermore and fell in love. I'm honestly not much of a comic person, but love TBBT and immediately felt like I was in an episode. I really channelled my inner Sheldon Cooper. I picked up a Star Trek comic for $3 which is such a steal. The selection is amazing, just so much inventory and prices are fair. Horrible experience today. I walk in, am not even greeted. I go up to the desk on the right and see an old man. I walk up to him and he says nothing. I say hi and ask if they buy trading cards. He says yes but only cards that are worth more than $10. I proceed to say okay, I have one for you. I put it out and he said "This is it?" I said yes. He said nothing and takes it out of the top loader and penny sleeve ( people usually ask if thats okay prior to doing it). He bends it and says that it is too thin and it is fake. I have just pulled it from a blister purchased at target. He continues to bend it and asks me what set do I think it's supposed to be from and i answer him. He continues to say it's fake and I tell him to not bend my card and tell him that it is fine. He does not need to buy it. It is a brand new release from the Ascended Heroes set and he obviously knows nothing of the set. He could not differentiate a real card from a fake card so I would not Buy any trading cards here since I am sure they have purchased fake ones judging by this experience alone. I have purchased items such as Funko pops, posters, and comics but unfortunately I will not be returning to this store. read more

Horrible customer service and pricing. I asked for a set and he replied with such a disgusting tone. It completely ruined my experience and he had the audacity to mumble and say "open your mouth when you talk." Say it to my face, actually a weird guy. Don't come here if you want value and service. My review is only on the comics, The Store is possibly being remodeled because it's super messy and boxes are all over the place. Makes it hard to walk around and look at the back issues. He looks up prices or just goes to cover prices. Felt like he didn't want to sell anything lol He said he didn't have any older comics but I saw short boxes of comics from the 1980s. He either doesn't know what he has or doesn't think books from 45 years ago are old. read more

Reviewing again as I continue to shop here. FB&G is still one of my favorite places to stop in downtown Livermore. I do feel there are a couple small things that could be done to improve the experience of the customer: -This place is PACKED with inventory (which is great) but if the clutter were a bit more organized it'd be easier to browse comics/cards etc. -It'd be super cool if a space could be made for gaming. There are tables in the corner where the loose MTG cards are and that'd be perfect for meeting/playing with friends. Not knocking the shop, just some ideas to help make shopping there easier. The more comfortable the shopper, the more likely they will spend an hour digging out cards and comics to buy versus giving up and heading out. Bob is great guy. Enjoy the shop! read more

Came here on a Saturday morning. It's located in an awesome part of the Livermore downtown area. Had a pub nearby and other cool restaurants. When we arrived, they had tables outside with action figures, pop figures, cards etc. pretty cool selection. Lots of people. The inside was about 50% pop toys and DnD cards/figurines. They didn't have any sports cards - which is what I was primarily looking for. They had a big selection of Pokémon cards, Star Wars cards, Magic the Gathering and more. Customer service wasn't great. The guy said he'd be right with us but never came. He later apologized. The store was somewhat messy, things everywhere, not the most organized. It's VERY small and VERY pact with cabinets and tables, so walking around is difficult, especially if there's other people in the isle. In some places, you literally get trapped in. They could definitely do a better job logistically. We'll definitely return next time we want our nerd-fix. Overall a cool experience and lots of looking and reminiscing of my childhood. read more

I was in town and needed to get a comic shop and found this place. It is a great location, great selection, and has a really nice clearance area that you can kill some serious time in. Only mild complaint is that the back issues are somewhat poorly organized although I think it is really difficult to keep that kind of stuff organized with people going through it all the time. I had recently been picking up Funko dolls and little figurines. This particular store is on the corner of the Main strip of Downtown Ljvermore. They have Comic Book galore and many other items you would typically find at other Comic book stores. I had been there multiple times and the owner is super nice and informative. This is the coolest store in downtown Livermore, and it's good for all ages. There's really something for everyone here, and if you look hard enough you'll find some pretty retro knick-knacks here. Fantasy, Books & Games is a typical comic book store that caters to the inner nerds of Livermore folk, and thank goodness we have it! I always end up buying more than I need to here, but their Pokemon and Yugioh cards are super cheap. I got a pretty fat stack of Yugioh cards (don't judge) for like $3 and I walked out of there feeling so stoked about my new cards lol. They have posters, cards, comics, anime/manga, toys, games, books, shirts, action figures, etc.! The list could go on for days; and you really can't go wrong with anything here. They have high quality stuff. Prices can get pretty high, but overall I'd say your best bet is buying some of the used stuff; it's a great deal! I love this store! read more

Looking for basketball cards. The owner is so rude. Doesn't know anything about the cards, but selling a pack for 135 a pack, I was willing to pay but how rude he was made me leave. Would rather go else where to spend my money. Would be nice to have someone that knows about what they are selling. Definitely do not recommend going here, he doesn't know anything about what he sells. And I found it cheaper online. So worked out for me. I love this place! I hardly come here as it's so far away from me, but I recently went on a hunt looking for a particular statue and I decided to make my way here. This is one of the largest comic book stores in the Bay Area and it's in the middle of some prime real estate of downtown Livermore. The owner is a nice guy and is often found at the counter, so if you have any questions head for the cash register as he'll most likely be there. This place has a lot of comics. Mostly trades and newer stuff, but they do have a decent size back issue selection, but almost no silver age stuff. So if you're looking for some classic Lee/Kirby comics, look elsewhere. Still, I love the location and wish I could find more excuses to come here, but alas, it's not always meant to be. Still, it's a treat when I do come to visit. read more

Wow. This place lives up to the name Fantasy. It's wall to wall comics. There were even pez dispensers and bobble heads. There's so much stuff it's pretty easy to get lost in all of it. The owner even brought his dog in here when I stopped by. If you like manga and most of the super hero type comics, you'll probably find it here. I'm not sure if he orders rare and hard to find ones but he probably does. If you're a comic fan, be sure to stop in. read more

Every time I go back to Livermore, California, I make sure to make a pilgrimage to the comic store. Not just a comic store, THE comic store. It was my bastion of creativity, a place where I felt at home and I could escape into fantastical and magical worlds through comics and books. Over the years I grew older and eventually moved out to the east coast, but ensuing decades, every time I visit family in Livermore, I always make it a point to stop in and support this store. This store represents my childhood, I discovered roleplaying games, comics and toys that inspired me to become who I am today. I would have to say the only criticism is it's disorganization but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they don't rip you off for variant cover books or autograph/sketch covers. This is a perfect location for a comic book store. Right in the heart of downtown Livermore. This is a small little store but has everything you need if your a comic book fan. From books and magazines to bobbleheads and many different types of cards. The owner seems to be knowledgeable and is helpful with all your questions and needs. This is a perfect spot to kill some time with the kids while your waiting to be seated at any of the surrounding restaurants. This shop is so old school, been there for over 20+ years and still going. My brothers used to buy most of their X-Men comics here. It sells a variety of comics, manga, cards, figurines, etc. I bought some Manga here and you just get a nostalgic feeling walking in as if you're a kid again and excited to come here after school. Since 1999 this has been my go-to comic shop! A friend from out of town was with me for the weekend, and he wanted to see "the best" place for comics and cards. Took the trek up to Livermore.
