I went today (Sunday). Barnes and noble employees were nice but their Starbucks cafe employees were rude.

I am so happy to see a Barnes & Noble close by! This bookstore is huge with plenty of things to look at. I feel like you can easily spend a lot of time here just browsing all the different areas. I definitely got lost a couple times but figured out my way after a while lol Barnes & Noble is so much more than a bookstore, should definitely visit if you have some time to kill or just want to walk around and be amazed by the inventory lol read more

In what honestly feels like the only Barnes n Noble left in the Bay Area, this place stays packed, every time I've gone in here it's busy. They've got a huge selection of books & mags obviously, other products to buy as well. That can range from Lego sets you don't see in the stores, puzzles, kids toys, other book related novelty items They've also got a coffee shop on the right that's always got people sitting and eating/drinking at, a nice feature for when you come in you can grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat too. That's where most people who want to chill and read go to. They've also got a super knowledgeable staff here too, which for my money is always really helpful. read more

What a great place to browse. We (My husband and I) love taking my mother-in-law here. It gets her on her feet and walking around. She walked around for 2 hours in here on Sunday, June 29, 2025. We also stopped in the cafe and got a Chai Latte which was really refreshing. The cafe is really nice. If you're lucky you can get a table. The tables are hard to come by as so many people get a drink and peruse a book or magazine for hours and occupy a table. We were lucky and got a table, so we sat there a little while drinking our drink and discussed a couple of books. Then we went back to the store and shopped around a little. There is so much to see in this store. She found 2 books that she wanted to get, The Orient Express by Agatha Christy (I haven't read the book, but love the movie) and another book, but in the end they settled on getting a game for my parents. The box looked intriguing, but when we opened the box at my parents house it turned out to be a complicated game. We'll have to study the directions and play it another time. We were tired by the time we made it to their house. I found a great book too. It was the unofficial guide to Disney World 2025. They have a new one that comes out in August 2025 for the 25-2026 year, so this one should be on sale soon. I was going to get it, but decided it wait to ensure we're really going to Disneyworld first. I don't want to do all this planning if we aren't going. The book is as thick as a dictionary. Apparently, there is a lot you need to know before you go. I'm excited for our trip and a bit overwhelmed. I look forward to our next trip to Barnes and Noble and finding more books and treasures. I recently decided that I wanted to start reading again and Barnes & Noble was always a favorite go to in the past so I gave the Dublin one a shot since I was in the area. The store itself was pretty busy at opening on a Saturday. Which was pretty cool to see that people are keeping books alive. The store was nice and tidy and the was really helpful when I couldn't find the book I was looking for. I purchased 2 books and sat at the Starbucks cafe they had inside. I sat there and read the first couple of chapters. It was nice and quiet. Overall a nice way to spend a Saturday morning. read more

Barnes & Noble will always give me fond memories. Growing up, my dad and I would always go here to browse. Sometimes he and I would get books and sit down to read. Most of the time I would run to him with a huge stack of books begging him to buy it for me. He did! While this establishment has DVDS and journals, the main reason I shop here is for the books. Book stores need to survive. While I do prefer independent stores, this one is a big one to combat Amazon. There's a section that I spent time where the prices are a bit cheaper compared to the rest of the store. Lots of good deals for $6 or $7 dollars. I was helped a lot by people who worked there. Today was my start to Xmas shopping. An exhausting day at Valley Fair but still needed more (I know, shocking we couldn't find everything or anything for a couple of special someones). Decided to wander in to relax and maybe find a nice book for myself. Well ended up finding not only gifts but also long searched for paper craft 'magazines' my daughter was pining for (and apparently these were hard to find). The haul was even sweeter by joining the premium club and getting 10% off and a heavy duty book bag! The added value of free shipping on all online purchases will be used in the future as there isn't a location in my city now. Soo happy the staffer took the time to explain all the bennies and differences of the 2 membership options and actually rung and signed me up for the premium club. Service is good. People know where stuff is and that is key. Selection is strong for my SciFi likes such as War Hammer or Star Wars but just ok when it comes to post apocalyptic zombie books. I would wish they would sort books by genre instead of authors but it seems they have made a push for that and I welcome it. Value is strong if you are a member, which I am. Long overdue review for one of the few bookstores left in our area. I've been coming to Barnes & Noble for years. They have a huge selection of books and I find their store comfortable for browsing. I recently came in for some books and really enjoyed looking through different genres. Employees are helpful and I'm sure to be back again. read more

Anytime I've been here, the staff has always been super nice and helpful! They even have a transportation section where I was able to find the FAR/AIM as a pilot. Amazing variety of books! I could spend hours in here. I also love how they have board games and tarot card decks for sale! I wish they had more seating though, there's only a few chairs sprinkled throughout the store. But then again, it's a book store not a library! The cashiers are also very friendly as well! read more

B&N has been a mainstay at Hacienda Crossings like forever. I always thought that because of Amazon and Netflix, bookstores are in danger of following the demise of Borders, Blockbuster, Virgin Megastores, Tower Records, etc. Not only has this B&N managed through the pandemic, but it outlasted a Starbucks across the street. Its a great place to browse and hang-out before a movie over at Regal Hacienda, or in my case getting my car serviced at Dublin Toyota. I am also convinced that brick and mortar bookstores still have a place in the digital age, but I'm wondering how they stay profitable. 1. You can browse through the entire book before buying at a lower price on Amazon. This doesn't help B&N's business directly but hey capitalism. 2. They sell lots of things other than books, like board games, toys, puzzles, magazines, etc. Great for last-minute gifts. Again, you can still get a lower price on Amazon after doing research if you don't need a gift right away. 3. A pretty large cafe, so this the closest coffee from Regal Hacienda by foot. There's one thing Amazon cannot deliver. 4. They have a very large children reading section with lots of books for all ages. Maybe after the pandemic they'll have storytelling events. Again, being able to host events and maybe occasionally a celebrity author would distinguish the brick and mortars from Amazon. 5. They do have an optional paid membership structure that gives you discounts on book and cafe. Its way cheaper than Amazon Prime. read more

Barnes and Noble has been a lifeline during covid for our bibliophilic family. Any excuse is sufficient. For example: Wife -- "They have BOGO 50% off sale. And we need to support our local businesses vs. sending more money to Jeff Bezos." Older Daughter -- "My friend has a birthday, and we need to buy her a present. I'm not sure what she likes to read. Actually I'm don't think she reads much. But she should!" Younger Daughter -- "I don't have a stag in my animal collection. Did you know deer kill more people every year than sharks do? It will be fierce! I promise I'll donate one of my other toys." Me -- "2021 calendars are 1/2 off; let's buy new ones vs. hanging the free one that our insurance agent sent over." Every time we go there, we spend several times more than we intended. But it's ok. It's covid and we need to get out of the house sometimes. And what better way to spend a weekend than browsing, and buying, books at Barnes and Noble?! read more

We went to the cafe for lunch and it was ok. We had an onion pretzel and an egg croissant and they were good. We also had a Reese's peanut butter cup cup cookie and it was five one get 1/2 off so we also had a chocolate chip cookie and they're both really good. The peppermint hot chocolate was way too sweet. We had to wait so long to get a cup of ice water. It was freaking annoying because there wasn't a line. The girl just decided we needed to wait I guess. The first staff member helped me locate a specific Bible along with the Bible accessories (tabs) The second staff member offered me a new membership. We ran into a little snag because she wasn't able to locate my previous membership due to the Barnes & Noble head-honchos deleting all the previous accounts, but she persevered anyway! Thank you Taylor! I love my new black B/N bag! Lastly, there was another staff member wearing a "frog and toad" T-shirt. Pls forgive me for not getting her name. I love bookstores! I happened to be visiting my Aunty in Dublin, so I stopped in this B&N! It was full of stuff, books, toys, stationery supplies/cards, and more! I love to gape at all this stuff! It's great to have a bookstore as nice as Barnes & Noble in Dublin. I have one issue: when making purchases, their computer system is so slow! I feel bad for the clerks. They ALWAYS make comments about it. Transactions take longer than they should. I've asked if management is aware and could something be done. The reaction is one of resignation. we just went into this store to get a cup of coffee to visit and we were so impressed with the kindness and alertness of the staff. There was a woman chocking in the coffee house area and the staff immediately attended to her to make sure she was ok. One just doesn't see this attentiveness and kindness of people so much anymore. Worst service ever. Worst location to go to especially when you're there at the customer service desks. No one seems to want to work so they treat you like crap. Their tone and how they go about working is the sad and pathetic. Need better workers who love what they do. Not miserable girls who don't want to work. The one adult with the glacier black pants was very disrespectful. Did not know how to talk to people and made my experience here bad. 5 stars for the cafe which offers Starbucks drinks. The barista and cashier were so sweet, friendly and nice compared to any other Starbucks I've been to. I was trying to find a way to pass the time while waiting for my car at the nearby dealership. Instead of watching a movie at the cinema, I decided to grab a coffee. My phone directed me to the Starbucks at the shopping center across the street but I was too lazy to walk that far. I'm glad I stumbled upon the cafe inside this store. It was really convenient for me. There is plenty of seating to chill, read or drink coffee. You can have a normal conversation or talk on the phone without worrying about being too loud. I had an iced shaken espresso with regular milk and it tasted so delish! read more

I have not physically set foot in a bookstore for years (thanks to Amazon Prime & the pandemic) so in-person browsing was a nice change of pace. I was pleasantly surprised to find the store a lot cleaner and more organized compared to the visits of previous years. In particular, I enjoyed browsing the children's section which was neatly categorized. I can see all the changes they have implemented due to COVID-19 such as removing the Thomas the Train play table as well as all available seating. As far as I could tell, all safety protocols were being followed with everyone masked and socially distanced. The purpose of my in-person visit was to find a book in a specific category. I was assisted by a very helpful employee and left satisfied with my purchases. read more

The behemoth, Amazon, has not gobbled up this Barnes & Noble yet. I fear it's coming. Positives: ======== 1. Great magazine section. 2. Instant gratification to buy and item now. 3. Starbucks. 4. Great kids area with events. Negatives: ========= 1. Not enough seating to browse/read (not a library, but plenty in the Starbucks arena!). 2. Selection is smaller than most. Extremely rude employees. Have had a membership for over 30 years and been to multiple stores in 6 states. This one has consistently had employees who lack basic customer service skills. A significant portion seem to think they are doing you a big favor by allowing you to be in their store and their job is being a hall monitor and instructing people on proper store etiquette (most of them need to pull the stick out of their #$%) Do not recommend this location unless you enjoy being insulted. If that sort of thing is your cup of tea this is definitely the place to go :) I like buying books from brick and mortar stores so will visit a local mom and pop (their selection is limited but they actually appreciate your business) read more

With so many book stores closing down I'm surprised to see this one still kicking. Comics and magazines and a coffee shop bring me in. A friend of mine always enjoys oogling over the comics if we are in the area. Some toys and other non book items - might be a good place to browse for somebody who is difficult on your Christmas list. A good place to kill a bit of time before or after a movie nearby. The IMAX is just across the way. The coffee shop is comfortable and coffee strong. Feel free to take your book on a test drive here before you buy it. read more

Just purchased about 7 mangas from this Barnes & Noble and when I got home realized they put music security stickers in the books on the inside back page of every single book. I get that it is for security reasons but these damage the paper when peeling them off and make the page incredibly sticky. Some of the books I bought are collectibles and the sticker is on the art, so I had to return them at a different store. If you don't care about the stickers then it's fine but I collect some of these books and these stickers will damage the books quality. read more

It is not too often that I step into bookstores anymore. Yesterday, though, we were in search of one specific book to give to friends of ours that very day. Stepped into the store and walkes straight to the Customer Service desk. Told the lady what we needed. After searching on her computer, she personally took us to the section of the bookstore holding the book. Love that they do that. At the checkout counter, the woman who assisted us was very good and informative. 5 stars for customer service. I am a fan of this Barnes and Noble store. If we had time, I would have liked to hangout and browse their large shop. There are chairs all around the store where you can sit and read a book. Always a nice amenity. read more

This is about the "Starbucks" cafe inside the B&N. Went here because the regular Starbucks closed down. This is not a regular Starbucks (since they only "proudly serve Starbucks", hence the quotes above) as the cashier said it does not accept the Starbucks card and was annoyed that I had just reloaded my card while in line thinking this place would accept it. So I had to still pay separately on top of the money I just put into reloading my Starbucks card. Also, the cashier and barista were chatting it up with every single customer before me making it a slow, arduous process just to get a bottle of water. read more

This is one of my happy places! I stop by a lot to browse, pick up a new planner for the year or just read at the cafe or find a nook around the store to sit. It has cool reading and writing gadgets sold near the cash register area and the staff is always helpful if you're ever looking for a particular book. The Starbucks inside is always busy but you will find seating anytime before noon and after 3. All the baristas as super nice, some more than others especially one guy, didn't catch his name, he's a tall African American gentleman who is beyond kind and attentive. He literally walks around with hot water filling up peoples tea cups. No matter how busy they are he will gladly answer questions at the pick up bar or fill up my water bottle. :) Another thing I want to note, and it may not be specific to this location, but it's been 3X that I'll be browsing around the business section and a random person will spark a convo with me, they seem very friendly and ask about the book I'm reading. They'll begin asking about what interests you about that specific type of book, then ask about the work you do and quickly turn into a convo about they're "business ventures" and "business partners" it's all very vague and then they ask for your number to stay in touch. These are pyramid scheme people trying to recruit! I guess books stores are an easy way to interact with others with a similar interest. I've seen the same man two days in a row at the store sparking convos with others. Just thought I'd share. If you're into pyramid schemes then good for you if not, stay woke peeps! read more
