Not a lot of Hallmark stores some are in the malls but this is in Pleasanton next to a Safeway Walgreens and some gas stations. They have lots of inventory and stuff and greeting cards for every holiday and occasion you can imagine. One thing I don't like is you can t return an item at another hallmark store you have to return your purchase the EXACT SAME location you bought it which in this day and age & it's absurd. I was told they are separately owned businesses. The coupon s which come in the emails are frequent and very useful and make you think that they care and come handy when a lot of ornaments are pricy during the Xmas season. Lots of parking , service is friendly and they answer any questions you may have. Lots of keepsakes , Bay Area team merchandise and even Star Wars stuff and wrapping paper too but of course you can get wrapping paper cheaper other places . For the coupon validation they help you find it on your email or ask you for your cell phone number that you registered with. Quality Hallmark merchandise, friendly employees, and the best selection of greeting cards for all occasions. If you are a Hallmark Crown Rewards member, which is a free sign-up, you receive coupons and deals every month. It's my go-to for Christmas ornaments, greeting cards, quality gift wrap, and cute gifts. I found some cute picture frames as well. read more

This is an adorable Hallmark gift shop. I can't believe I haven't gone in here before after all these years. It's located in the same center with Walgreens and Safeway. Plenty of parking. Since my local Hallmark store closed down, I found Amy's Hallmark Store. As a Crown Rewards member, it was triple points day & a $5 off a $10 purchase or more, so I decided to utilize this promotion. I'm so glad I found Amy's Hallmark! What a large selection of items this location has. The customer service can't be beat & Mr.Hallmark would be proud of the attentive & kind employees working there. The help I received before I even set foot was amazing when I called. Christopher patiently answered a few of my questions & checked up on the photo albums that I had my eye on, on-line. Without having to prompt him,he immediately set it aside for me. This store really embodies true customer service where they don't mind actually looking for things you are interested in. Other than cards, there is a vast selection of items starting with soaps, Harry Potter, Snoopy, Star Wars, Disney purses, mini backpack purses, Jewelry(Puravida bracelets), tumblers, picture frames & much, much more. Collecting Hallmark Keepsake ornaments have been an annual tradition in our household. However with each passing year, more and more Hallmark stores have been closing. Having ordered some ornaments from Hallmark.com, I had to select a store for pickup. Since I was going to be in the area, I had the order shipped to Amy's for pickup. I received the pickup email and a week later, I came for pickup. The store is located in the Amador Shopping Center, so parking was not an issue. Gave me name to clerk for my online order and he went to retrieve my order. Friendly and efficient service. Great online pickup experience. I've shopped with hallmark for decades but I've never liked a Hallmark store more than this place. This place by far has the best customer service I've ever had at a Hallmark. The manager, Christopher, is outstanding and deserves a gold star, or in this case, I suppose a gold seal! :) I could not make my pick up window for my online order and after calling, Christopher, was able to extend my pick up date. When I arrived to pick up my order, I let him know I had an online pick up and he already called me by my name without me having to provide it because he said he was just talking about my order with the staff, hoping I would remember to pick up my order! Absolutely AMAZING. He was also so patient with additional items my parents and I purchased at the store with our hallmark rewards vouchers. The care and personal touch Christopher gave made us feel so welcome and it makes us want to come here for all our hallmark needs. It was the first time I've been to this location because our usual Castro Valley and Stoneridge Mall locations closed. Didn't even know they existed but apparently they've been here for quite some time. Everything in the store is neat and organized. An added bonus is that they have a nice clearance section with a good assortment of hallmark items. read more

Excellent customer service! Very friendly and personable people! I placed an order online for curbside pick up. Out of the 3 items, one of them needed to be delivered to the store. I didn't want the items that were "ready" to be returned prior to the delivery coming in so I called the store to ask them to hold it. A day later I received a call informing me that their corporate system would be down later on that night which would cause them to lose all their orders. Did I want them to process it as if it were picked up and they would hold it. Otherwise everything would have to be returned and reordered. I chose the first option and picked up my order flawlessly. We came to this store to buy a gift for my son. We walked around the ornaments section for quite a while and no one greeted us or even said hello. We noticed a lady at the cashiering station, but she didn't say hello. The store was pretty empty too, so I am not sure why they didn't greet us. We continued to walk around the store looking at potential gifts when finally an employee greeted us and asked if she could help us. It took about twenty minutes for that employee to greet us. The other employee didn't look interested and even turned away at times. When we asked if they had any Frozen-themed items, the lady who was helping us wasn't even sure if they had anything. She then asked the other lady who seemed disinterested and she looked at us with a weird stare and said that they didn't have any. For a store that has items with messages of love, warmth, kindness, etc., it didn't seem to be working on the employees that day. read more

Large store, lots of parking, didn't seem too busy, even this week before Christmas! They do sell a lot of decorative items, ornaments, trinkets, & stuffed toys. The selection of cards is pretty good, probably comprising only a third of the store, but that's significant given the overall size of the store. Very few cards were sold out, unlike other Hallmark stores procrastinators like us have visited the week of Christmas! Everything was well organized. Minor gripe: some items didn't have the prices marked. Staff was fine, seemed polite enough, but we didn't interact with them much. There wasn't much of a wait to check out. read more

Takes a lifetime for them to ring up!!!!! Why does it take so long to ring people up? Customers have 3-4 items and employees can't ring up faster than molasses? Is the system archaic? Are the employees lacking energy? Honestly employees move at a snails pace. Lack of energy, painful shopping here. Twice I have had to set items down and walk out. Sometimes waiting in a line of 5 customers which takes 20 minutes is utterly ridiculous. Maybe put in a self checkout. read more

I have a Hallmark store the city where I live but I am loving this one A LOT more! This one is bigger, more spacious and has friendly staff. They have a huge selection of cards. Typical nicey nice ones and a lot of "Off Humor" cards which I love. There is also a good selection of stationary, gift wrap and great knick knacks. This is a great card and gift store. When my youngest turned eight, they sat patiently while she designed her invitations and then printed them. You can find any type of card at this place, including boxed cards. They also have a nice selection of stationary. If you're looking for a "thoughtful" type of gift, or a gift with a special meaning, this is the place to go. They have these beautiful statues of almost ever type of family in different places. They often have gourment candy and really pretty decorative candy. They have the cutest books, you know the type that you would give your mom that the subject is how special moms are. I got bracelest for my sister and mom there that had charms of what they meant to me. Just really nice, often unique gifts that the people you give them to will save. Great store. I grew up loving hallmark. I suspect that was just the result of my parents and the elders within my family all being loyal customers of hallmark. Same as with See's. (Side note, growing up in the late 70s and 80s, my brother's and I always got a beautiful sugar egg that had a scene inside of the egg every Easter. I don't know when or why see's stopped making these, but I sure miss those eggs!) Back to Hallmark, the year I was born, 1976, my mother started a tradition of purchasing a new hallmark ornament for the Christmas tree. We have continued this tradition and in addition to the one my mother purchases, I buy her 2 or 3 each year as a Christmas gift. My parents don't even put a tree up anymore, but she displays her collection year round in a absolutely stunning antique 1800s curio cabinet with curved glass. Hallmark used to have a catalog of every single ornament that has been made, I don't think they have made this catalog for a very long time as we can't find any current ones. Each winter, my mother an I would make a night of updating her collection with the current catalog while my father was on one of his weekly waterfowl hunting trips. Some of these ornaments are valuable and the appreciate of them is impressive. I think it has to be about 20 years ago now, the last time we did the update with the catalog price guide, but at the time some of the ornaments from the 70s and 80s were valued at several hundred dollars! I can't remember which ones,, except for some of the ones made of metal maybe tin? There's a metal train from 82 or 83 that was one of the valuable ones she has. Her intention is that the collection will be mine one day. Honestly I don't want to think about that ever, but it is so sweet that she thought about this 45 years ago and it is still going strong! read more
