DO NOT BUY from this store. I brought these newly bought packs from them and the vendor confirmed they were resealed. That is why they charge you a 3% credit card charge because they know you can call and complain to your bank for fraudulent merchandise. Please this is a warning for all future buyers to avoid this store at all cost.

I'll be honest, I usually don't have high expectations for mall anime stores, especially since they're generally either littered with bootlegs or are mostly just housing Funko Pops, but Sekaido is NOT the case! I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of series and items that they had at this store, almost blown away honestly. Upon entering I immediately saw that they had a set of the nurse outfit Hangry & Angry plushies from the same brand namesake under h.Naoto. I have NOT seen Hangry Angry in person since the early 2010's when visual kei and J-rock was still a prevalent thing at cons and fashion shows. If it weren't $40 each, I would have copped immediately. They also had various sized plushies of the cat from Chi's Sweet Home, a cute Mari plushie, merchandise from Sanrio Danshi, a random Cospa shirt that was at an affordable price, Domo-kun figurines, the otome game, Amnesia, Yo-Kai Watch, Dragon Quest, Danboards, Capybara-san, Free!, Goblin Slayer, and so much more. Of course they had the big series of Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, DBZ, etc. I love shops that have variety and a lot to offer. There's a bunch of plushies, prize and scale figures, model kits, key chains, ichiban kuji items, shirts, wall scrolls, etc. Workers were very nice too. If I'm ever at this mall, this would be a must stop for me.

    Receipt showing surcharge.

My review is mainly about their sales practices as the stock of items is decent for the small space. However, they do not accept cash and only accept debit and credit cards. The issue is that they also charge a 3% surcharge when using a credit card. As of July 1, 2024, this is not a legal practice in the State of California. When I mentioned this, I was only given the option to pay it or not purchase the item I wanted to purchase. And if you're thinking , "why not just use your debit card?"...well...use of debit cards should really only be done at places you trust as they do not offer the same protection as your credit card. The cost to me for my purchase is insignificant but the fact that they charge a surcharge will sway my choice of more visits in the future.

The item we picked has 2 price tags on it. One 22.99, the other 29.99. We took for granted that the price is 22.99. After checking out, we noticed that we're charged 29.99. The cashier tried to help but the owner didn't give them permission to refund and they need to text owner to get password for refund. The cashier texted the owner and the owner reply saying they cannot respond at the moment. We think there are two problem here. (1) the product should not have misleading price tags. (2) the owner should make sure someone can respond to escalation in real time instead of relying on asynchronous communication. This setup intentionally put friction on customer for resolving their problems. For example, we have to walk away with the higher price charged after 5 mins since we don't want to wait and block the checking out line forever. Two star since cashiers are really nice and tried to help. Otherwise one star since we do think there are fundamental problems with the business!

Man, this place is weird (in a good way). Really really weird (in a really good way). I have no idea where they get their stuff. They have tons of merchandise from all kinds of series that I have never seen in a store, largely because they aren't actually that popular. This is a good, good, very good thing. Quite frankly, you can go to almost any anime store in the world and more or less get things that are super popular. Like in 2023, finding Demon Slayer or SpyXFamily or Genshin merchandise is comically easy (and I like a lot of these series!!). But Sekaido is built different. I literally bet my friend who was weirdly into Strike Witches that nobody ever sells that merchandise - except I actually found it here! And a lot of other stuff that's not super popular, from Tiger and Bunny to Tsubasa Chronicles to Goblin Slayer to Fruits Baskets to whatever. Really really really cool. Besides that, the store is spacious, has lots of aisles for easy perusal, and has a diverse set of merchandise from shirts to plushies to figurines to masks to keychains to card decks (like literal playing cards). Last time I went, there was actually a BOGO T-Shirt deal, which was very cool because they actually had t-shirts in small and medium (I picked up a small Rillakuma and Made in Abyss t-shirt - and also have two Fruits Baskets shirts - more unusual series!!). For whatever reason, there are certain franchises that tend to run out of small sizes at cons - and certain franchises that run out of XL sizes at cons (IM NOTICING) - so this store is a good way to get around that. Anyways, always worth wandering in and checking out when I'm at this mall. Honestly probably my favorite part of this mall, which has been increasingly bougified from when I was younger and it was the closest Cheesecake Factory to my aunt, who ate Cheesecake Factory three times a week. Anyways, this is actually probably my favorite anime store in Northern California simply because of its unusual set of merchandise - so highly recommended to stop by!!

A bit pricey, but this gift shop has a HUGE selection of Anime/fiction collectibles, figurines and toys. Their wall and shelves of FUNKO Pops is the largest collection I've seen in one shop. If there's a particular model you're looking for, they are probably the place to find it! Service is by young but knowledgeable staff.

This is a cool shop located across from the Lego Store. They have lots of anime / pop culture items and collectibles. Lots of Funko Pop figures, too! My daughter was excited to see all the Naruto / Boruto stuff they had. They also have plush toys for everyone. You can spend a lot of time browsing in this store.

    Incredible figurine section!

We came here on the grand opening- and what a grand opening it was! Sekaido had a lot to look at...I mean, A LOT! Everything catches your eye in this store, but you have to be slow to really take in all the details. I was so impressed with their assortment of anime from different eras - some of their products are dead stock!! Not something you see everyday - even at anime conventions. They also have a selection of t-shirts, figurines, and enamel pins! I really liked their figurine wall, since it had a little bit of everything - even Pop! Funkos. I spent a good chunk of time walking over and over seeing each aisle, and it was so worth it. I'm really glad we were able to stop by, and get to see another cool shop that is perfect for gift giving and even splurging for yourself! My sister ended up leaving with two Tiger and Bunny Themed Alpaca dolls, and it was such a treasure to find!

This is a great addition to the stores at Valley Fair Mall. I have a 9 year old and I myself a 9 year old trapped in a 40yo body. Stores like this really help break things up among all the boring clothes, jewelry and shoes. It helps fill the void of stores like KB Toy stores from the 80s/90s. I would say most of their toys lean more towards Japanese Anime such as Naruto, Dragonball, Transformers etc. Pricing is fair. You can probably get it online for $, but you'd have to wait and can not guarantee authenticity. Because of online competition, they have all sales as final. The service and people working here were very friendly and you can tell were happy to work in the store and help customers.

Kids love this place! Unique merchandise. Located on first floor across the lego store! We parked by the Cpk entrance. They had a lot of anime- Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Pokemon etc and Pusheen, Power Rangers and more.

We came here for grand opening and this place is sooo cute! It is right in between Miniso and the Tokyo shop. This place has a lot of plushies that I have not seen anywhere else! Please come and check them out :)

This is what a modern Anime store should feel like. A variety of merchandise neatly organized throughout the store. My favorite section consisted of the Pusheens, a variety of them ready for your picking. I like how they have a point system in the store per purchase, so I see myself coming back here whenever I come to Westfield

I'm happy to say that Gameshop Downstairs is the SOLE EXCEPTION. Their staff are very polite and genuinely want to help you find what you're looking for, even when swamped with customers on a busy day. Their selection is unlike anything I have seen in any game shop in the entire NorCal region, especially for late 2000s-2010s era games such as Wii, DS, and 3DS. I also appreciate that they have a wide selection of DVDs and BluRays - old anime, movies, and cartoons alike. They even regularly stock CRTs, and while a bit expensive, they do in fact sell at fair market price. On that note, their pricing is extremely fair, and even the more contentious pricing I saw was actually on the dot with fair market pricing when checking online. Even if some things are slightly marked up, I think they easily make up for it with the sheer amount of stuff they carry. I can't emphasize enough how good their collection is, I spent a whole hour here. The museum is really cool too. The mix of 80s-90s and 2000s-2010s gear made it a perfect trip for my Dad & I, since that represents the generations of technology we grew up with respectively.

Brought in my old GBA SP which had a busted screen, I've watched videos on how to fix it, but wanted to also swap out the shell. So after countless videos of people saying the trickest part is the hinges, I figured it was best left for the professionals. I also wanted to mod the GBA SP charging port to a USB-C but with Eli's insight, replacing the screen with an IPS and upgrade to USB-C it would probably be better to just buy an entirely new Modded GBA SP. So I just stuck with the shell swap and new IPS screen. We ordered the parts from Ebay as he showed me what was available on 3/28/2026 and called me 4/9/2026 to let me know it was ready for pick up so roughly a 3 week turn around since he had to wait for the parts to be delivered. Finally had it back in my hands and it was beautiful, 15 settings on the brightness and it opened and close with those satisfying clicks the OEM came in. Couldn't be happier, I will say the buttons do rotate when I'm gaming a little too hard, but nothing like rotating them back into their place fixes it. I got a FFIX game and it wasn't working and I got to return it no problem and got a replacement. I was also having issues with my PS1(that I have had for a very long time) and was told pretty much it's too expensive to fix and better retire it. They didn't try to sell me another one because they said it will have the same issues in the future. I also didn't know PS2 and PS3 is backwards compatible to PS1. Saved me some money. lol I also found out the shop owner used to own Retro Rewind in Milpitas which I also frequent before.
