French onion soup
Saira K.

Bazille is the main restaurant at Nordstrom in the SoNo Collection. It's In the middle of the store. There's also a huge bar. I had the French Onion soup. Actually it was called something like 'the best part of French Onion Soup.' There was little broth, and it was mostly onions and cheese and pieces of baguette. It was good.

French Dip

I went to the Sono Collection mall to shop the other day and decided to dine at Bazille for my second time. Both times I've gone, I have been very pleased. When my family and I arrived, they seated us right away. I was happy that we got to sit in a booth along the windows, which has a beautiful view of the water and a park nearby. I ordered the Bazille Burger, and they got the French Dip and the Warm Asian Glazed Chicken Salad. My burger was juicy and very flavorful. The sauce on it was really good and the fries were fresh. I tried the French Dip and OMG... it is amazing! The salad was also great, from what I was told. The only complaint about the salad was that the sauce on the chicken was just a little too salty. The waiter we had was really nice and attentive. He recommended the burger over the chicken sandwich. I appreciate a waiter who's honest about what he thinks is better. They have a nice menu with lots of very unique dishes to choose from. It's so worth dining at Bazille from my experience.

Lamb Mezze
Debra M.

Disappointed today in the food at this place. Ordered the tomato basil soup which was fantastic and was excited to get the lamb Mezze special which was 3 different lambs. Lamb slider which was good but the kofta was raw and the meatball was not heated through. Hubby had the crab, mango salad which he said was a solid 3 of 5. The servers and staff were very nice and adjusted the check to accommodate me sending back the dish. Views of SoNo are excellent. We will try them again in the future.

Cup of crab bisque

I know they haven't been open long and are still working through the kinks (plus they were super swamped on this rainy gray day) so this review is for the food mainly. Crab bisque is divine - I don't usually care for asiago but it was baked in the accompanying crouton and was a delight when dipped into the luxurious bisque. The little gem lettuce could have been chopped a bit more in my salad but I loved the homemade dressing and the amount provided, crispy croutons and of course the requisite anchovy!! Throw in some deep fried capers and that would be perfection. Forgot what was in my cocktail but it was vodka based and a bit fruity but definitely not skimping on the liquor - Delish! Definitely coming back to try more of the tasty offerings on the menu - thanks Nordstrom!

Table by the window. Love this place. Food is worth it.

The food in this restaurant is always good. The quality is top notch. The ingredients are always fresh. The food is cooked perfectly. That herb sauce that comes w the calamari is amazing. What a great way to complete that dish. The burger is great! Comes with a divine kalamata olive dipping sauce -- I am so inspired!! The service is impeccable. Very excited to try the rest of the menu.

First time here, came for a late lunch. I liked the fact that it is basically a full on restaurant with a full bar since most restaurants in Nordstrom don't have that. Given that it was a late lunch the place wasn't too busy but the food did take really long to get and none of us got anything complex, just a couple sandwiches and a salad. So not sure why it took so long. I would say my sandwich was ok the bread was a little too burnt for my liking. The French fries have a strong rosemary seasoning which is good if you really like rosemary for some might be a little too potent. I tried my nephews Mac and cheese which was very watered down but I mean he ate it so I guess it's fine. My other complaint was for the salad they didn't cook the steak to order and given that the customer was pregnant the meat had to be done properly, but the waiter had no problem taking it back and they cooked it a bit longer. So the staff was at least friendly. I mean i know a few people that rave about this place so I wouldn't mind trying it again and trying some of their other items on the menu

Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos

Stopped by for some appetizers and dessert with my family while checking out the new mall. We ordered a Margherita Pizza, Crisp Calamari, Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos, Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata, Apple Cobbler and a Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie with Vanilla Bean Gelato. The presentation was nice and I highly recommend the calamari, heirloom tomatoes and burrata and the desserts.

Look how much avocado in this sandwich!

Tucked in the back of Nordstrom's, this was a pleasant surprise. Staff was attentive, and food was very good. There is a full bar also. The chicken sandwich was loaded with avocado , lettuce, tomato, bacon and crispy green beans! Delicious ! The French dip was also great, with both sandwiches accompanied by crispy fries and a really delectable olive aoli for dipping. Prices were reasonable , too. Will definitely come back.

Nordstrom! Peter and DJ at lunch in the restaurant at Nordstrom SONO In Norwalk. Pretty nice!
Peter V.

Fantastic lunch! DJ and I went to Nordstrom when the SONO mall opened to check it out and saw this really cool looking restaurant space. We went back today to have lunch and loved it. We shared the bacon maple deviled eggs which were fantastic. DJ googled the recipe and swears he'll make it for us. I had the chicken sandwich and DJ had the gnocchi duck ragu with lentils. Both were excellent. Btw, we first got there no window seats were available, however one opened up and they asked if we wanted to move - no problem . Appreciate the good service!

Talk about last minute birthday decisions! So last year on my birthday I had a friend order…read moretakeout and we had it at their house. This year for my 35th, I was on my own for dinner this time around. That being said, I think I found a winner here to celebrate my 35th birthday. Say hello to Lazy Sister, located in the heart of South Norwalk where the restaurant scene comes alive! Because I was a single coming in, I was seated right away, no reservation needed. They were even kind enough to place my bag in the atrium so that I wouldn't have it in the way. I was seated at a table set for two, but it's a good thing I guess that I came on my own. First thing I notice upon coming in is that it is a very classy restaurant, not your typical dim sum joint. It's also not a big space, but that's fine by me. Honestly, this would make a great date night spot for anyone going out on a date. Funny enough, I was actually suggested this place by my friend the night I went to Jacob's Pickles. For reasons I am about to get to, I am glad I decided not to come here until a later date. So why would I say that? Well, because tonight, my order consisted of two Junmai Genshu "Little Sumo" sakes as well as the Salt & Pepper Calamari, a medium level Dry Fry Style Szechuan Chicken, and then the Fortune Cookie Soft Serve for dessert. Not only did I pay more here, but I also got more inebriated here than I did at Jacob's Pickles. But it's my birthday, so tonight it's not in my contract to care. You only live once, and I am already in like the middle of my life, so it all evens out, right? Speaking of the food, everything I ate was immaculate! The calamari was seasoned perfectly, vegetables were cooked and crisp, the spice from that Szechuan didn't overpower. It was more like a pleasant tingle, especially when mixed with water or sake. Everything was done just right. And that soft serve cooled me down in just the right way. Delicious and well worth finishing off the night! And while there were other drinks that definitely looked good, I couldn't say no to sake. That's like THE ultimate celebratory drink far as I'm concerned, and it was awesome! If you were wondering about the service, these people are quite friendly. They help you through anything you might need. While I waited a while to tell them, I did eventually tell my waitress it was birthday while I was on dessert. Cool enough, we are both Tauri! I love it when I get to talk to another Taurus! :) The bill was also why I am glad I waited for another occasion to come here. Because I decided to splurge, the affair was about $100 once tip was factored in. It was well worth it, and tonight's outing will definitely make for a fun story to tell. But 34 was a hard year. I deserve to let loose every now and then, and hopefully 35 will be a happier age. All in all, a great restaurant and well worth the money to come here.

We started off with the chili oil dumplings which were super flavorful! For entrees we got the Mongolian beef and the shrimp fried rice. Fried rice was my favorite -- didn't need any soy sauce or duck sauce bc it had enough flavor on its own. For drinks I got the lychee drink which was on the sweeter side for my personal taste. Overall, loved my experience and can't wait to go back to try more menu items.

The Albarino we ordered was delicious too. The only downside I can think to mention is the musical journey beginning in the 80s! And we were still able to have our serious conversation. The slight smoky sweetness from the peppers balanced the hearty meat perfectly. Such a unique memorable tapa. Perfect spot for drinks, sharing plates, and a fun night out.

Popular menu items include birria tacos, octopus, shrimp ceviche, and steak chimichurri. My daughter and I visited here for her birthday, and we both love Latin cuisine. As we walked in, we were greeted warmly and shown to our seats immediately. It was a chilly day, and the restaurant felt cold inside as well. The staff tried to warm things up with space heaters, but they didn't quite do the trick. We ordered empanadas, birria tacos, hanger steak, and sweet plantains with crema and queso fresco. When the dishes arrived, they were lukewarm--a bit disappointing, considering how cold it was outside. The birria tacos were delicious, though again, they could have been hotter. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, but I would have liked it a bit crisper. The hanger steak was tender, and the Pico de Gallo was bursting with flavor, pairing perfectly with the steak. It was nicely seasoned and had a good-sized portion. The empanadas were tasty, with flavorful and plentiful meat. The plantains were extremely delicious. The crema and queso fresco helped bring the whole dish together beautifully. The customer service was friendly, but the food could have been hotter; still, the flavors and seasonings were spot-on.
