I rated Lazy Sister's Beef Scallion Pancakes has my favorite dish of 2025 and I stand by that. The customer service and staff - so friendly and welcoming, the ambiance is a vibe, and food is so insanely good! You can walk in but past 7 PM, it could be a good idea to make a reservation as it's a small spot. Monday through Friday 3-6 PM they have happy hour with really good Cocktails, Mala Fries, Fried Dumplings, Crab Rangoon, Spicy Wontons, and so much more! They pan fried dumplings are so perfectly crispy and juicy, you won't want to get them anywhere else! The Soup Dumplings here are also incredible! Last time we went we enjoyed their Mongolian Beef and Thick Noodles with Shrimp and were impressed. I can't rave about this place all day!

It's hard to get a reservation here because the space is small, but we went early on a Saturday night. The food was delicious and our waitress was attentive. Our only complaint was that our apps and entrees came out at the same time, but the manager apologized and took dishes off our bill, which was very nice. I'd definitely go back!

Picture from the bar toward the back. Place definitely kind of hip.

Delicious food even for a quick lunch. Ask the bartender the top five things in order two of them. One was a pork, fried rice, huge portion and some dumplings. Service was great and extremely detailed about their drinks which really helped me decide what I was looking to get or not get. The ambience is almost like a cave very dark walls and I was going for a sunny day.

Soup dumplings can be competitive to flushing one. The skin is thin and meat is juicy nice broth inside. 8/10 Wonton chilli oil (not spicy one tho) is yummy. Thin wonton skin. Salt and pepper squid is good , seems they use fresh squid, again it's small portion, good with beer. Dry pot fish (very salty) taste good but too salty (only order it if you are drinking) Hot&sour soup not spicy & sour per my family. Dan dan noodles good but can skip the sauce, it's very salty. I can taste the peanut but not overwhelming (careful if you are allergic) It's on the pricey side comparing the price & size to other Chinese take out. But I'm open to come back try other dishes. Nice service and comfortable seating.

I've been trying to get down to eat at Lazy Sister for a while and finally got to go. Let me preface by saying I used to go to Enchanted all the time. The place got a nice facelift. The staff were amazing and service was mostly on point. They didn't time the food arrivals properly. All my husband's food came out with our appetizers. I had to wait for my entree but not long. We got the wonton in chili oil, Dan Dan noodles, Mongolian beef and he got some Shanghai noodles I think it was called. The food was very good. My least favorite was the Dan Dan Mein. It lacked the pool of chili oil it used to swim in and the crispy minced pork when it was Enchanted. Mind you, it's the same owner. Trendy little spot and for a change it gets pretty busy. I'm happy for the owner and now it gives Mecha a run for the money. I'll go back at some point but I have better Szechuan places I'd eat first. Oh the craft cocktails are delicious!

We venture out to Lazy Sister Chinese restaurant because it was highly recommended. This is a nice cozy spot, you definitely need a reservation if you don't want to hang around waiting for a table. We ordered the Scallion pancakes, chicken with broccoli and general tso chicken. (nothing outside of the norm) The Scallion pancakes were nice and flakey. The chicken in broccoli was pretty standard. The general tso chicken was extra spicy and thats exactly how I ordered it. The chicken was very tender and tasty. We had to try their cocktails so we ordered a spicy margarita and a mai tai. The mixologist took awhile to get the drinks together but eventually the drinks arrived at the table. It was definitely worth the wait. I was actually surprised that he nailed my mai tai. Lazy Sister was a nice last minute choice. The staff worked together to make sure we had everything that we needed.

Cute restaurant in downtown SONO. Clean and modern with good menu options. Fun cocktails, along with seasonal drinks. Food was delicious and everything tasted very fresh. Entrees took a little to arrive, but drinks and apps were timely. Prices were reasonable too. A good option for modern Chinese.

Cute environment. Attentive staff. Simple menu but food was delicious. Very packed so please make a reservation ahead of time. We went on a Sunday mid day and there was an hour wait for a table, but opted for sitting at the bar. Located in south Norwalk you can park on the street If you are able to or there are plenty of pay to park lots very close by for your choosing. I ordered the Szechuan Dry pot style at a level medium spicy. Note: If you love spicy food as much as me, the medium isn't that spicy and asked for chili oil on the side. Next time I plan on trying the hot option out. The honey walnut shrimp was delicious!! I recommend If you have a sweet tooth.

Lazy Sister is the best Chinese food I've had!!! No joke, the food is so good and doesn't leave you with a stomach ache like a lot of other places. I think my family and I tried almost everything on the menu. The beef scallion pancakes were the most unexpected but delicious. The soup dumplings. The noodles. The Mongolian beef. The soft serve at the end. I can go on and on!!! And the chili oil was a perfect addition when I wanted an extra kick. Can't wait to come back and try everything else I couldn't during my first visit!!! 12/10 recommend for your next dinner out (or even take out!!!). The service was also amazing. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was definitely energetic, but perfect for a family dinner! I love how it feels so cozy inside. Definitely helps with the whole "lazy" vibe.

I have been hearing good things about lazy sister, I finally was able to stop in. Can we start with the excellent service! All staff was so pleasant, very welcoming that mad be very happy, I knew it would be a good time. They had special cocktails for autumn of course I tried two out of 4 lol! I went with the Kyoto cream and bee lavish ..... Kyoto cream for the win, so banging!!! I think the Greek yogurt in it makes it bomb! For apps we went with the spring rolls and veggie dumplings both delish, most importantly fresh! For our entree we ordered the general tso's chicken and veggie fried rice both just what I needed to get the job done, again delish! A very simple dish but yet so good! Ohhhh dessert we had to try the fortune cookie ice cream, yum yum! It is soft serve with the cookie crumbled all over. OVERALL we enjoyed ourselves! Camille thank you for being so patient and accommodating with our party of 3!!! GO ENJOY IF YOU ARE IN SONO!!!

Food was quick to come out and delicious. We had the salt and pepper shrimp, soup dumplings, beef wrapped scallion pancakes and the dry pot style beef. All were awesome! We sat at the bar and the bartender, Jonathan, was friendly and on top of things- quick with fresh drinks, suggestions and the occasional joke! Oh- and I can't forget the "Do you like soft serve?" inquiry. Moments later, he brought us a homemade Fortune cookie soft serve- spectacular! A little hint of almond, orange on a vanilla-y base. Crunchy fortune cookie crumbles were layered throughout. Wow! We came in around 1, on a Sunday, and there were consistently about 10-15 other patrons, moving in and out- some low volume music- good selection from a variety of genres, country, to pop, to rock. We will be back again, sooner rather than later. And we will be bringing our friends.

'Lazy Sister' single-handedly soothed my pangs of longing for New York Szechuan as a former Brooklyn Belle residing in CT! The staff is absolutely impeccable-- ultra personable, professional, appreciative towards regulars and ensures all guests leave with a positive experience... whether you are a walk in, guest with a reservation or just nabbing a to-go order on a rainy day. The chef (incredible female warrior energy) is always gracious and really takes the time to connect with dining patrons. Kitchen staff is on point and never misses a beat on even the smallest requests (I love the cabbage lightly sautéed, extra spicy and they always oblige/never over cook). Management, waitstaff and bartenders are always ultra friendly, generous and provide the best menu suggestions (Mai Tai, double boiled fish, cabbage, spare ribs!). It is very rare that I entrust someone to take the reins with ordering for me. Here-- recommendations are always on point and I'm thrilled that this little gem is a stone's throw away from home! Note: Though I opted for to-go this evening due to weather, the ambiance of the restaurant is really lovely. Clean, modern and functional... their logo/branded marketing is so adorable to me. Taking a nap in a dumpling spoon is pretty accurate for what I wish I was doing on a rainy day! Now let me get to my Sunday celebration and football while this rainstorm rolls in!

The desserts were a highlight too, the peach empanada was nice and warm, buttery, paired perfectly with the ice cream and icing, and the banana pudding was smooth, classic, and comforting with the nilla wafer crumble and fresh banana. Even my starter arugula lemon vinaigrette salad was delicious. Service was excellent and attentive, and the ambiance is definitely upscale and stylish. I'm no foodie but I am Chinese/Japanese and can appreciate finer things in life when I see it. This place meet and exceeded my expectations. The wonderful speak-easy tamaki-ya room in the back is warmly lit and held at a nice volume, much quieter than the izakaya bar in the front. For small bites we had the Beet n Hijiki salad (highly recommend!), Agedashi tofu, and Torched Maine uni. For hand-rolls I had the Spanish Mackerel, Hokkaido Scallops, Ocean Trout, BBQ Eal & Foie Gras, and Cucumber ume. My wife had the Maine Uni, Hamachi, and Botan Ebi. Everything was good, but there were quite a few that were very good, and there were two that, for me, were the best that I've ever had in recent memory. For the Spanish Mackerel Chef Taibe put an interesting spin on it by topping it off with a traditional Chinese ginger and scallion garnish used in a tender chicken dish. It works, it balances out the briny taste of Spanish Mackerel... which is great... unless you LOVE the briny, savory, mineral, metallic, umami taste of fresh Spanish Mackerel :) The Hokkaido Scallops was, by quite a large margin, the best scallop dish I've ever had. The tender sweetness of the fresh scallop combined with a brown butter kewpie (how American!) and yuzu tobiko sauce swimmingly. Texture, temperature, taste, all perfect. I like eel and I love Unaju. But by far the biggest surprise was the BBQ Eal & Foie Gras (see pic). This dish alone warrants a culinary course. On the face of it, bbq, eel, foie gras all sets you up for something rich, filling, heavy. But when I bit into the unassuming hand roll, it was the lightest bite of Japanese rice/seafood/seaweed/liver/sauce combo I've ever had. Turns out Chef Taibe prepared the sauce from scratch using five+ different spices, and prepared the foie gras au torchon. I could go on, but suffice to say, this was one of the best bites I've ever had. By contrast, I thought I was going to close out with the cucumber ume roll, but compared to the eel and foie gras, the ume actually felt more overpowering. Perhaps if they cut back on the generous amount of ume paste... (Worthy mention: Chef Taibe presents the nori in a separate envelope. This seemingly simple step is crucial to the taste and mouthfeel of the hand roll. It provides a wonderful fresh crisp crunch to every bite and it does indeed make a difference. He mentioned he sources a special nori but I forgot the details, just know that it's really good) My wife loves uni, and I'll let her describe her experience (which she won't) but it was so good she had to order a second one. As if you need more convincing, we had a great experience and I think you will too. Bravo Chef, well done

Every drink feels thoughtful and well executed -- the kind of place where you actually want to work your way through the menu. The food is where it really shines. The chef-owner's love of Japanese cuisine comes through in every detail. The yakitori program is outstanding and deeply traditional -- using all parts of the chicken the way it's done in Japan. It's respectful, intentional, and absolutely delicious. You don't often see that level of authenticity and execution locally. The bar bites are some of the best around. The fried chicken sando is one of my personal favorites -- perfectly crispy, juicy, balanced, and craveable. And the ramen? No one can hold a candle to it. The broth is deeply flavorful and layered, the noodles are spot on, and every topping feels purposeful. It's the kind of bowl you think about the next day. Perhaps the best kept secret in all of Norwalk is the back room -- the elegant Temaki-Ya. Tucked away behind an unmarked entrance, this intimate hand-roll bar feels almost like discovering a hidden Japanese speakeasy. The atmosphere is quiet and refined, the kind of place that's perfect for a special date night or a memorable evening with friends. The temaki (hand rolls) are beautifully composed, with thoughtful ingredient combinations that balance texture, flavor, and visual appeal. What makes this place special is the dual experience -- lively izakaya vibes in the front, elegant hand-roll bar in the back -- all tied together by serious culinary skill and genuine hospitality. Norwalk is lucky to have this spot.
