    Crab Rangoon Croquettes
    Christina S.

Finally got the chance to check out their izakaya and absolutely loved the space! It's open and welcoming. Their ordering system is QR code based which I'm not really a fan of but the food did come out fast! The show stoppers were the crab Rangoon croquettes, Karaage onigiri and the yuzu bar. I only tried one cocktail which was the whassup and personally I did not love it. The burnt honey called to me but the wasabi tonic was extremely overpowering. I also felt the chimichurri on the pork belly yakimono was overpowering as well, but a lot of their other items are fantastic and maybe it was an off day for those items! I'd definitely return as there's so many things to try still!! I'm still thinking about the yuzu bar!

Such a cool addition to the Wall Street area!! When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by arcade classics from your childhood. The service was all you could want from your local bar and restaurant! They have great recommendations on what to try on the menu and great to chat with! I recommend the Kara Age Chicken!! Mmmmmm mmmmm I've never taste chicken so tender and the sauce was the perfect compliment to bring it all together. Don't forget to try the fresh sashimi, a Japanese staple! Shhhh! You didn't hear from me but they also have a cheeky speakeasy upstairs.

Everything in the back room was amazing quality. I'm honestly so impressed with all of the ingredients -- I even enjoyed the uni which I've previously not been a fan of. Chef Jeff does it again.

We've been to Bar Bushido 6x now and we'll keep coming back! The food, drinks and service are incredible. The front room is a really cool chill vibe and the back room is more of a date night vibe. Highly recommend both of them! We love coming to see Kevin & Kylie at the bar. They're the best! A must try place in Norwalk.

Ok not even finished - barely halfway through devouring this menu and I'm in LOVE!! I was missing Taproot Next Door and I forgot all about it - granted completely different cuisine but holy Moses - this space is amazing (we sat at the bar). I feel no hiccups with the opening, if anything the food comes out too fast (but it goes down equally fast) and the QR code ordering is something to get used to but anyway ... Congrats Chef and team - I feel like I'm in Manhattan right now - something this cool and delicious in Norwalk is definitely a belated Christmas gift! Stay tuned for details on the food! **pork katsu pocket - so delish I had a second one for dessert sans caviar - I dreamt about it last night too lol** Try all the yakimono - you won't be disappointed! I think I prefer the tare over salt but still delicious. The jerky is such a fun presentation and amazing flavor - not salty. Agedashi tofu - perfect pillows melt in your mouth with nice little crisp and delicate sauce. I had a lot of fun with the tasty scallop "make your own" temaki and ended up scooping the rest straight out of the bowl into my mouth hole.

Service, ambiance, and food are top notch. Started off in the front room izakaya bar with a Suntory highball and a few of their delicious yakitori. The chicken skin was tender but crispy, and the chicken thigh was so juicy. After this light bite, went over to the back room for the temaki-ya, hand roll bar experience. No need to head into the city, because a great hand roll bar experience is right here in Norwalk! They have some really creative combinations, and the fish is quite fresh. I particularly enjoyed the mackerel, scallop, and squid. Also, 10/10 for the Melon Martini. Come to Bar Bushido for a great dinner and date night!

Pros: I love the QR code system and how you can just pay for yourself without having to split bills with friends. FOOD COMES OUT SUPER FAST it's awesome. Staff is friendly and will answer all questions. Super interesting selection of cocktails. I've been there three times already. Cons: I wish their food portions were a bit bigger given the prices you pay, but the Karaage Chicken is a good shareable portion. My only real complaint is the music is too loud every time, and that's coming from someone who loves music playing at restaurants, stores, offices, etc. When you go do dinner with someone you want to be able to talk to them and not have to shout. Also the drink pictured here, I forgot what it was called but I don't recommend this one. Was advertised as a sort of coconut-milk calpico tamarind cocktail but only tasted like pineapple juice and ice.

A welcome new addition to the dining experience in the area. I have tried both the Izakaya in front and the temakiya in the back. The food all round was amazing and the ambiance in both sections top notch. Overall service in both sections was equally amazing.

I had such an amazing time --it wasn't just about the food (which was absolutely incredible), but the whole experience. I got to enjoy the best temaki I've ever had, perfectly fresh and flavorful, while chatting with a friendly Japanese guy who made the experience even more authentic and memorable, best Japanese rice ever ( I could bring him home ). There's something special about connecting over great food and good conversation. Barbushido really nailed it with both.

Ive been there for dinner time as well, it's lively, loud in a good way, and immediately feels like somewhere you could stay for hours. I ordered the miso ramen, and it was honestly one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen I've had in Connecticut. The broth was the star of the dish its deep, rich, savory, and layered with that perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness from the miso and a bit nitty form the sesame seeds. The noodles had the perfect texture: chewy, springy, and able to hold onto the broth beautifully. Nothing was overcooked or mushy . What impressed me most was how balanced the ramen was. Some ramen spots go overboard with salt or spice, but this bowl felt refined. Rich but not greasy. Flavorful but not overpowering. You could tell there was actual technique behind it. The portion size was also generous enough to leave completely full without feeling uncomfortable afterward. The service matched the food perfectly and so freaking sweet. Lunch there is great but recommend going for the dinner menu over anything to have more options! The addictive cabbage is just as it says, addicting. It's acidic, savory and has the perfect crunch to it. The crab Rangoons are sooo good. They give you plenty of sauce and you can tell it's the good crab. The cold sesame noodles are perfect! A little bit of heat, a bunch of flavor. I'm drooling just thinking about it! The chili dumplings were good but a little too spicy for me! We also really enjoyed the kimchi carbonara and personally, I'm a sucker for udon noodles! And now the star of the show for me and something I've ordered three times now! The crab fried rice! The crab is so tender and buttery, like it actually melts in your mouth. And the pork belly chunks in it, also tender and delicious. I like dream of this dish every week! And the great thing is you can order the half size during dinner so you can try other things too! This spot is in my top 5 for 2026 so far! Please go try them asap!

Although his professional background was in advertising, Sigman had been an avid homebrewer since 1994. Eventually he decided to open his own brewery. Sigman chose the name "Relic" to reference his world travels. Aiming to craft artisanal ales inspired by flavors from around the world, he thought of himself as more of a chef than a brewer. Sigman doesn't brew beer based on which styles are trendy, but rather beers that he personally enjoys with tastes that he views as complimentary or exciting. I have visited Relic Brewing multiple times since I first became serious about craft beer in 2013. At that time, Relic was one of maybe 10 breweries in the state (today there are over 100). Of those original 10, only half remain in business. The taproom was very small during my initial visit: about 10 square feet and they only served small free samples. I recently stopped there with my older son because it occurred to me that I hadn't been there in at least 10 years. A lot had changed! In 2016, a full bar was added and Relic began to serve full pint pours as well as craft cocktails. A large back room addition opened in 2019, which featured a fully furnished lounge and a pinball arcade slowly evolved. When I first arrived, I ordered a taster flight which featured "Oktoberfest", "Nebraska IPA", "The Whim" (New England IPA), and "Double Whim" (Double New England IPA). I grabbed my flight and headed to the back room with my son. He was so excited to play the pinball machines and other various arcade games. The two of us had a nice father-son bonding experience playing pinball as I also enjoyed my beer samples; the "Oktoberfest" was my favorite! If you like great beer paired up with pinball, then head down to Relic Brewing!

They've since expanded the size of their tasting room into another huge, open space full of high tops and comfortable lounge seating along with a bar mixing up creative cocktails. The new space also has tons of pinball machines and other games. We stopped in after a movie on a Friday at about 6:30. There were a few groups hanging out but it wasn't too busy at all. It was pretty chill vibe, and I got the sense that a lot of locals frequent them, which is cool. We hung out for nearly two hours and by the time we left the only other folks there were at the bar in the front room. The beer is still good! I did want to try some of their cocktails though. They have some pretty creative cocktails made with interesting homemade syrups, shrubs, and the like. I tried the Honey Don't which was tart but well balanced. I wished it was a little spicier, but I am a spice fiend. Then I felt for something a little sweeter so I went with the Poolside gossip. All the different ingredients really combined into a unique and delicious flavor! I really enjoyed what they have going on. The space was comfortable and relaxed and there's something on their drinks menu for literally everyone, plus entertainment. They have small snacks available, but you're also welcome to bring your own food. So it's basically like a very relaxed bar. We'll definitely be stopping in more frequently!

After I handled business with the junkers, I said eff it and headed to Whiskey Neat. I was starving--no breakfast, running on fumes--and since my job's in Patchogue, I figured I'd finally try them for lunch. First of all... happy hour on a Saturday from 12-6?! Uhhh hello?? In my Angelina from Jersey Shore voice. And if you pay cash, you get the discount. Say less. They've got a fabulous small plates menu. I started with the French onion soup--ooey gooey mozzarella, cheese pull was undefeated. Soup was delicious too. I haven't had French onion in ages and it really hit. Then I had the pulled pork slider, which was really good, but BABY... those short rib croquettes? To. Die. For. I also had to get my classic deviled eggs. A little heavy-handed on the paprika, but still solid. Drinks were half off, so of course I indulged. Started with an espresso martini because I needed something to jumpstart my day. Then I had a French martini because duh--I'm a French girl ‍. That one was good. Finished with my classic cosmo. Not gonna lie, I've had better, but it did what it needed to do and helped me forget my troubles for a couple hours. Also great playlist of music. I got there and they were playing Ska. The ambiance is top notch, especially on a busy Friday night. Packed to the gills with some of the most beautiful people living in and around White Plains, it is a treat to come here when everything else has already closed and the party. must. go. on! :-) However, I do have one bone to pick. The bouncer stationed at the front is extremely and suddenly rude. I was shocked last night by this experience. At first, I was let in just fine, told that I just needed to "sheath" my bluetooth speaker that I usually use to provide my own musical ambiance when traveling up and down Mamaroneck Avenue. I walked around inside unscathed, was even so lucky as to catch the eye of a few beautiful ladies- lucky me. I stepped outside to catch a breath - so packed inside - and saw one of those same ladies inside through the glass window. We made momentary eye contact, and I was going to re-enter to chat with her, when the bouncer appeared out of nowhere and told me, rudely, to leave at once. That he had had "too many complaints about me". I truly had done nothing to receive this treatment. I hadn't had a drink all night, I was dressed exquisitely, and I'm an above average dancer. And yet, when I told him I had done nothing, his response was "LEAVE. NOW." I mean, WTF? Other than that, it is great there. I might go back one day if that bouncer receives an attitude adjustment. But until then, I'll steer clear and spend my time at Cantina, whose doorman is MUCH nicer to the clientele and is much less likely to be on some substance when allowing people in the door.

Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!
