Very shocked by the low ratings on some of this other reviews. This restaurant came to a close 5 star rating for me. The food was delicious!!! We had the mussels, the spicy radiatore, and spaghetti with shrimp. The pasta was the ultimate comfort food- warm, rich, and felt nostalgic to what my own mother would make. That feeling was echoed throughout the restaurant's environment and ambiance. I felt like I was over someone's home for dinner. While the decor was simple, it was very familiar. The lighting leans towards low and intimate, which may be perfect for a date night, but I can definitely see that as a challenge for some especially when reading the menu. The service was fast and accommodating. The drinks were delicious and they offered a variety of wines, cocktails and mocktails! Definitely recommend you come try it out! read more

Everything we ate was excellent and everything we drank was excellent. Me a Nebbiolo and my dining partner a margarita. Butterscotch dessert was wonderful and the crème fraiche pure perfection. Service was perfect too. Had a great visit! read more

I don't know about you, but if spending almost 200 bucks with the tip on 3 meals and 2 apps, you're kind of expecting a great tasting meal. I had high hopes for this place as it has the same owners as The Whelk, it was packed with a line and the dishes coming out did look very good! But excellent presentation unfortunately did not equate to excellent tasting food. The meatballs were flavorless, as was the sauce. The beet salad - some of the beets were not cooked enough and some of the nuts had an off/rancid taste. I should have said something but didn't. The best part was the grapefruit slices were delicious. In fact, the best part of my entire meal was that slice of grapefruit! Both pasta dishes were overcooked and the gemelli lacked flavor with way too much oil. Save your $32 and don't order the gemell. How could a sauce made with duck lack flavor? Where was the duck? Perhaps still in the pond! I'll save you 28 more bucks if you don't order the radiatori with the spicy vodka sauce and tell you how to make a better one at home. It tasted equivalent to the box of Wegman's radiatori I bought for 99 cents once. (I wouldn't rec the Wegmans brand, so buy another). Then put on half a jar of Carbone spicy vodka sauce, and add some cream- and there you have a MUCH better radatori dish for just a few bucks. The best part of the meal, if I had to pick, was the pizza- as the crust was very good. I asked for lightly baked because the tables next to us the crust looked way too charred. But if you're as nuts as I am, and pay 29 bucks for a personal pie, then all of it better be delicious. The problem was the pie was loaded with too much oil. Took a few slices home and the cardboard box actually was drenched with oil and tore. Not enough mushrooms or cheese and the flavor was very blah. They do give you 6 jars of Penzy's spices to flavor up the pie, so I suggest using that! Mama Mia! when the bill came. Unsure how this restaurant has a 2.8 star rating, it was 5 stars in my book. First of all, it is a restaurant built out of a Town Hall - like HOW COOL IS THAT. When the weather is nice they have outdoor seating right in the middle of Westport. There is parking. For girls night (3 of us) we got the toast, burrata (both not pictured - burrata was small but good), and then the pasta and pizza were insane. We had enough food with leftovers. The spicy marg and mezcal drink were wonderful. Got the radiatore without meat. This place is great, I can't wait to go back. Service was great too. read more

We had a pleasant evening overall, but the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. We were seated at a small table for two along the wall, which felt very cramped; I felt like I was part of the conversations at the tables on either side of us. Because of the noise level, it was also a bit difficult to communicate with our server. We ordered the pizza, a pasta dish, and a few spritzes, all of which were delicious. We decided to visit after seeing the restaurant all over social media, and while the food was good, I'm not sure it's a spot I'd rush back to or add to my regular rotation. read more

Lives up to the hype. Reservations are tough to come by on the weekends during peak dinner time, but the bar is walk-in only and we only had to wait about 30 minutes on a Saturday. The cocktail menu has nice range - would recommend the Italicus with its nice earl great flavor. Radiatore is by far the best thing we had. Portions are just enough to get you comfortably full. Service was good and accommodating..... Ambiance was nice... Food was nothing special..pizza was served like it was sitting, all 3 pies we ordered were lukewarm when served. Went here after seeing all over social media. Everything was meh. Started with Crudo di Tonno which was decent. Most flavor came from the lemon drizzle. Gemelli sounded amazing but lacked flavor. I will NEVER give this place a single dollar. First, we walked through the front door and stood there looking around and no one came to greet or help us, so we walked to the back door where the host stand is (odd setup to be at the back door and this was our first time here). Our experience strictly has to do with how rude and unwelcoming the host were. We wanted to come in and sit at the bar. We did not mind grabbing a drink and waiting since it was busy. At the bar, one host pulls our arm and says "can i help you?" as we are trying to get a drink. Another host (female with brunette hair and glasses) tells us that there is a long waitlist for the bar and "a lot of people are on it". I asked if it was okay that we get a drink and she says "you can try to get a drink and go stand in the corner". Coming from restaurant and hospitality experience, i would NEVER tell a guest that. Mind you, there was already a group of people at the corner of the bar with drinks and people standing at the bar with drinks as well. I immediately got my group of guests from the bar before they could order anything and told them we are leaving. We told multiple other people about our experience and we will not be returning to give a second chance, which we are fine with since we heard the food is not that good anyways. Hopefully they can train their front house staff on maintaining good hospitality even when it is busy. First impressions are always important. read more
