Raditore WITHOUT MEAT
Heather R.

Unsure how this restaurant has a 2.8 star rating, it was 5 stars in my book. First of all, it is a restaurant built out of a Town Hall - like HOW COOL IS THAT. When the weather is nice they have outdoor seating right in the middle of Westport. There is parking. For girls night (3 of us) we got the toast, burrata (both not pictured - burrata was small but good), and then the pasta and pizza were insane. We had enough food with leftovers. The spicy marg and mezcal drink were wonderful. Got the radiatore without meat. This place is great, I can't wait to go back. Service was great too.

We had a pleasant evening overall, but the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. We were seated at a small table for two along the wall, which felt very cramped; I felt like I was part of the conversations at the tables on either side of us. Because of the noise level, it was also a bit difficult to communicate with our server. We ordered the pizza, a pasta dish, and a few spritzes, all of which were delicious. We decided to visit after seeing the restaurant all over social media, and while the food was good, I'm not sure it's a spot I'd rush back to or add to my regular rotation.

Lives up to the hype. Reservations are tough to come by on the weekends during peak dinner time, but the bar is walk-in only and we only had to wait about 30 minutes on a Saturday. The cocktail menu has nice range - would recommend the Italicus with its nice earl great flavor. Radiatore is by far the best thing we had. Portions are just enough to get you comfortably full. The restaurant is busy and lively.

The menu is some what tied into the Puglia region, which is the heel of the boot. I could tell the italian dialect from the owner when he was speaking to one of the staff, it immediately gave me a good feeling that this restaurant would be really good. The appetizers we had were all really good, we had the fried calamari, the grilled Octopusss, the fried zucchini flowers and thd hummus special. Sorry no pics of these. We had a couple of the Orrechiette Barese, Chicken parmigiana, a pasta special of fettuccine with shrimp in a cream and pesto sauce, another pasta with cavatelli, shrimp and cream and pesto sauce, really couldn't see the pesto, probably could have used a little more or maybe a little finishing with the pesto on top. Service was good and the owner came around to introduce himself and we got a complimentary round of their homemade creama di limencello to finish off the experience. Wr wouldn't hesitate to go again the next time we are in town to see a show.

We had a great table by the window. The waitperson was gracious. Our group met to discuss an important matter so we were a bit slow ordering. Our food was fantastic. I especially enjoyed my Paella And another diner loved the Brussels Sprout Salad with truffle vinaigrette, and the Beet Salad. My other companion thought the grilled octopus was special. The Albarino we ordered was delicious too. The only downside I can think to mention is the musical journey beginning in the 80s! And we were still able to have our serious conversation. I will be returning.

The atmosphere felt very grown and polished without being overly formal...the kind of place that's lively and stylish but still comfortable enough to relax and hang out. I was surprised by the Spanish stuffed peppers; It was better than I expected, filled with rich, slow-braised oxtail short rib ragu that was incredibly tender, savory, and full of deep flavor. The slight smoky sweetness from the peppers balanced the hearty meat perfectly. Such a unique memorable tapa. Perfect spot for drinks, sharing plates, and a fun night out.

They had such fun cocktails--we all ordered different ones to try, and none of them disappointed. The food was 10/10 and the service was impeccable. We shared the fried mushrooms, spicy rigatoni, and tuna tartare as appetizers- all beyond good. For entrées, we ordered the short rib, pork chop, duck, scallops, and tagliatelle pasta and every dish impressed us. Kyle was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and gave amazing recommendations. The wait was far longer than expected, and the $55 steak was disappointing both in presentation and quality. Most concerning was the seasoning--the dish was so heavily salted that it overwhelmed every other flavor and ultimately had to be sent back. What makes this especially disappointing is how much the restaurant seems to have changed. A place that once felt unique and worth going out of the way for now feels like just another overpriced, mediocre dining experience. It's unfortunate to see such a decline from a restaurant I once loved. After this visit, I don't see myself returning.

We decided maybe just a drink at the bar, we ordered two drinks, very flat, no carbonation in the drinks at all, wife's soda had not one bubble in it, my beer had no foam or bubbles at all (extremely flat). Not to mention the stemware was very poor, glasses were very small, very basic, and did not make for a want to be "chic" bar vibe. When paying, placed card down and asked for change for tip- (worked in food industry in the past, always better to tip cash). Bar tender looked at it, and decided to make 4 other drinks first as my wife and I sat there with empty glasses waiting to leave. For a bill under 14 and change, asked for change for a 10, was going to tip $4 and given back two fives, granted it's only $1 but the service and everything did not grant a 29% tip sorry! Would have loved to have tried the food, but as an empty restaurant, on a hopping Thursday night, was very put off on the first impression.
