Food was great and Zach's the best server. Quick service and great ambiance - the bacon appetizer is an experience

Service was great, our waiter was Zach. Food was very good. Cozy ambiance. Love the latkes. Recommend.

Great food! Great environment, and great service!! Highly recommended. Would recommend this dinner spot for anyone that wants to have a great experience read more

Very eclectic decor with photos of famous people on the walls and various pieces of artwork. Can get crowded and is a little loud when packed. Came in for brunch recently and they have a number of interesting choices. Service is attentive and the food is fairly good. Comes out plated well. read more

I really wanted to love this place, and I will return but it fell a little short in a few areas. The good: beautiful bar and interior. It feels like a classic traditional NYC bar. The food was also quite good. I really enjoyed the ceviche starter and halibut dish (filleted and prepared with tomatoes and oil and served in a cast iron skillet) I ordered. And my wife enjoyed her burger. Areas of improvement: front of house. I'm a local, and I did call to make a reservation for me and my family just minutes before we came. The hostess said no problem, we have a table. But the table was outside on a 90 plus degree day, and I have two kids.... No indoor tables should have been disclosed. That was a miss. Service was another area of improvement. It was spotty. Nice guy. But simply not enough table touches. I shouldn't have to flag you down for a beer and glass of wine. I expected slightly crisper service all around --especially at this price point. read more

Drinks, food, service and ambience - ticked all the boxes. I ordered an Old Fashioned made with Buffalo Trace, and it was spot on. We split a few appetizers, including the fried calamari, spinach dip, and their famous thick-cut bacon that they fire up right at your table. For dinner, the salmon was excellent. It is a stellar spot for both date nights and work gatherings. Every dish was a hit! read more

Hudson Malone is an exceptionally fun spot with an energetic and welcoming vibe. The food is always delicious. My favorite part about going there is the terrific wait staff. They are exceptionally friendly and well trained. They really make you feel like they are glad to have you there. They all seem to make a point of making a personal connection and they remember you when you come back. There is a real personal touch there. read more

The staff at Hudson Malone, especially our server, Jesus, were extraordinarily accommodating to my family this morning. Even though we arrived before 11:00 AM while they were still preparing to open, they welcomed us in and seated us early with my husband, two sons, and 95-year-old father. The food and service were excellent, and as we left, my dad remarked, "Well, that's a brunch we won't soon forget!" read more

Great happy hour, (oysters, martini and service were excellent). It almost feels like a comfy lodge and I want to make it my after work spot. The parking isn't great but I wouldn't give less of a rating; you just have to cross the street. read more

I was excited to try out this spot, and came for lunch. The food did not disappoint. My dining experience was seamless and I felt that the service was excellent. In writing this review, I tried to think of a complaint, and couldn't come up with one. I love the framed decor up and down the walls, as well as the pretty bar up front. Definitely will have to come back to sit at the bar and try some cocktails. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Birthday lunch celebration. An excellent choice for the ambiance, the service, and the food! First visit for the four of us. We loved the look of the place - the displayed interesting photographs, inspiring quotations and antique curiosities. A very helpful server brought water and menus. There are actual menus for bourbons and scotches here! Wow! The food menu offers tap beers as well. We ordered a burger, a steak sandwich, Milanese and salad. All were well cooked and beautifully plated. Topped this off with desserts - the Tiramisu and the special cake (for the birthday candle). Nice touch - the plate with the candle was decorated with birthday wish! Excellent! We'll definitely be back. read more

Food quality / price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is eclectic antique Colonial home. The menu features several unusual dishes and some very original cocktails. I had the Slow Pan-Roasted Pork Chop with potato latkes and a side of sauteed mushrooms, all of which were very good. The wife had the Summer Courgetti Ribbons, a pasta and vegetable entree that was very unusual and flavorful. The prices were very fair, especially for this area of Connecticut. The service was a little lax, but in fairness, we arrived just before a big rush of dinner patrons. The manager, a young woman named Danny, was informative and took time to inform us about the restaurant's history. We had a great experience, and will certainly come again. read more

The place is dimly lit and Geanina was my server and she was great! I ordered: Vodka martini Pesto Arancini di Palermo (rice balls with cheese and veggies) duck ragu Seafood lollipop Creme Brulee The food was really good and my favorite was the duck ragu dish! this was my first and it was amazing. The service was prompt and professional and welcoming and warm. The ambience was definitely top-notch. Gives you New York vibes, but I'm having to travel to New York, lol but not least the food was amazing. I had a 16 ounce prime ribeye that was cooked to perfection. My husband had the pork chops that were so tender and juicy and tasteful filled with so much flavor. I would recommend this place 10 times over and not to mention our waiter Zach he made us feel welcomed and was prompt with our service. read more

Excellent experience. As advertised, great drink craft. Inside is pretty active, outside was mellower and exactly what we wanted. We tried the tuna tartar appy, a fish and a wonderful bone in pork chop au poivre, which I appreciated being served on the side as the chop itself was excellent on its own. Owner/Doug came by, said a brief hello and "read the room" promptly leaving us to enjoy. Waitstaff were excellent - attentive as needed at the right times and friendly. (Hostesses came off as less organized, but it was 6PM on a Saturday) I get the impression Doug takes great pride in his craft so I will mention these minor observations - First Drinks - arrived with the appetizer. I prefer before, not sure of the norm. - Affogato Bomba - wrong glass, overly complicated, that at its essence should be perfect in its simplicity. Will be back. very impressive - but I'm not a NYC guy, so I impress easily :) read more

We went last night, definitely will go back. Great food, very friendly service. Cozy inside, especially with the fireplace going. Tomato soup is very delicious. The chicken was moist and extremely flavorful. Thank you Hudson Malone for being great. read more

Easy to make reservation but the quality of food is off. I asked for regular lunch menu and they offered it. But the steak salad says watercress and baby arugula and I only saw arugula. The wild game ragu says fresh made pasta. I expected pappardelle pasta, but it looked like spinach fettuccine. read more

This is my second dining experience at Hudson Malone and they know how to do it right. From the greeting at the door to our wait staff, we felt welcome and appreciated. The restaurant is beautifully done. It's warm and thoughtful and if you can get a seat by the fire, it makes for the perfect winter dining experience. Jesus, our server was great! He was engaging and professional with a great sense of humor. We had the "T bone steak" for two with the cream of spinach. it reminded me of a New York dinner but exceeded the famous steakhouse I use to find exceptional. Great night out at Hudson Malone. I'm looking forward to being a regular and creating many more memories there. I highly recommend it and hope that you will too! Michelle Cortizo read more

I never write reviews but everything about my night at Hudson Malone was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, our waitress, the busboys, and even the owner. Once we were seated, our amazing waitress introduced herself and was attentive, informative, friendly, and overall incredible throughout the entire evening. She checked on us frequently, and our water glasses were never empty. I also have a tree nut allergy and get very nervous eating at new restaurants, but our waitress was so reassuring and knowledgeable that she immediately put me at ease. When our food came out, my friend's meal arrived first, and the owner noticed right away. My entrée followed less than a minute later. I ordered the pork chop with latkes, and it was absolutely amazing. Our waitress even came over with a flashlight to make sure the pork chop was cooked exactly the way I wanted it. I was truly impressed and have honestly never experienced service like this at a restaurant before. Between the exceptional hospitality and the delicious food, Hudson Malone exceeded all of my expectations. I would absolutely recommend Hudson Malone to anyone in the Westport area! read more

really incredible service catering to 2 adults and 2 kids all 4 of us feeling we had a great experience. will be back again

Came here for appetizers and drinks. Appetizers were very good. The restaurant was very busy and we were lucky the hostess grabbed us a table. Service was very attentive. Will come back for dinner read more

We clearly went on a busy night. We typically like to order apps and then order our dinner but they told us we had to order everything at once. Strip steak was good with a nice little mushroom sauce in the side that was very good. Drinks were good too, we had wine, Old Fashion and some Manhattans. Overall a great experience and the decor was very nice too. Felt warm and cozy. read more

This is a wonderful spot, highly recommend. It is our second time here and we will be back. Food and service both consistently outstanding and the ambiance is just perfect. Have been here for brunch and dinner, tried seafood and steak as well as most of the kids menu. Yet to find something that was less than exceptional. Jesus was our server both times and he is a real delight. Can't wait to be back and sample more of the menu. read more

I've been to previous restaurants in this space and I'll give the current owner's credit. They've created an inviting and unique communal experience. I dined on a Saturday night and the place was packed and honestly too loud. The acoustics suck. We had a reservation for 4 around 7 PM. We were seated outside the main dining area through a closed door in what almost seemed like a small addition like a sunroom one might have in your house. Not much atmosphere there. I had the Caesar salad, which was subpar. Yellow romaine lettuce, sprinkled low quality, Parmesan and brown anchovies which had seen better days. I had their signature burger, which was just OK and not seasoned particularly well. The fries were subpar. On a more positive note, their spirits selection is outstanding. I ordered a single malt which i've been meaning to try, but haven't seen in any restaurants. We had sparkling water and I asked for a small glass of tapwater along with my scotch. The water never came with the scotch and when the waiter returned 10 minutes later, I asked politely one more time. It's still never came. Not the end of the world, but still annoying. I finished the meal off with a crème brûlée and coffee which were both good. This place seems like it has great potential, but my experience was disappointing overall. read more

I came here for my uncle John/god father's birthday tonight. The service was attentive and helpful. They showed us the specials via black board as well as describing them to get a better idea. We started off with the clothes line bacon. They came over with a blowtorch and cooked the maple flavored bacon. It was thick cut and tender AMAAAAZING. My uncle is a bacon lover and it truly hit the spot for his birthday. For entrees we got duck ragu and a the filet. The filet was juicy and a perfect medium rare for me. The ragu had a bunch flavors somewhat masking the duck however it was just different but the whole plate for uncle was devoured so different but great! For dessert he got the soufflé which tasted super chocolaty with vanilla gelato. I got the west nice cheese cake which was very rich. They sang to my uncle happy birthday and gave a personalize birthday greeting card with his name hand written which was a great touch. The restaurant is cozy like up in a cabin but also gives that classic nyc vibe with all the old pop culture icons on the wall or art work from another area. The bathrooms also matched the main dinning areas vibes. The personalization and flavors can not be beat if we could give 10 stars we would. read more

So my wife who can't pull off a surprise, surprised me with my birthday dinner here with two other couples. We arrived and had reservations 2 months back, but they seemed confused about it. After a few quick minutes, they led us to a dark booth meant for 4 and asked us 6 to squeeze in. They said they had no other tables so we decided to deal with it and check the menu out. Well, we tried. Take the uggo's here because there is zero light. Funny not funny, they actually stock mini flash lights to hand out when they see the whole table take out their phones. The manager, i assume, saw or tripped over a foot and said we will move you, you can't sit here. We were told a table was on desert so we decided to grab some drinks. WARNING: When you are at the restaurant and the prices are not printed on the cocktails, BUCKLE UP!!!! Now the food to change the subject. We had the bacon on the line that is fired at the table and it was superb!!!! The Ahi Tuna was also very tasty. My wife got the Cioppino and loved it! My steak Au poivre was cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing. Could have tossed in a veggie, even some spinach would have been nice. So unbeknownst to me, my friend snuck to the bathroom and went to his car to bring in a cake for me. Well, the bill came and no cake. So he got up to ask and the waitress seemed annoyed and having gotten us to sign off, mentioned to him the problem no longer was hers. After some back and forth, they got the cake but we took it to go. The new busboy on his first night did an amazing job. Tough to pour water over a cramped and dark table into a glass on night 1. But he did a great job! Would go back to try some more food but would be cautious with every step read more

I hesitated to write a review but feel I should because this meal we had was so over priced and the food was extremely disappointing. The Caesar salad was probably the worst I've ever had. The romaine was not fresh and the dressing was awful. We ordered off the special board and a ribeye for $65 was so fatty and not seasoned at all. The branzino on the special board was listed as slow roasted and was told by the server it's delicious. It came on a cracked wooden board. It looked so unappetizing and it was. Not worth the $42. Nothing was good. Save your money. read more
