My husband and I had a fantastic evening at Capuli in Westport. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and while we had a reservation, it wasn't crowded when we arrived. It felt like many of the diners were regulars, which is always a great sign. The service was excellent--super attentive and accommodating. As we were leaving, a large party arrived and the staff seamlessly pushed tables together to make it work, which really spoke to how flexible and thoughtful they are. For food, we ordered the salad, Bat clam chowder, chimichurri beef skewer, beef stroganoff, and salmon roulade. Portions were generous and everything was delicious. The beef skewer was good but not particularly memorable; however, I would absolutely order everything else again without hesitation. We finished with the berry crumble for dessert, which was the perfect way to end a lovely meal. A friend and I came for an early dinner before a show and arrived at 5 pm becoming their first dinner customers of the night. We were greeted warmly and seated at a quiet table by the window. Water was poured, menus delivered and wine was ordered first. We were delighted with the grilled octopus and roasted butternut squash crostini for appetizers. Next, we shared a Ceasar salad which was large enough for both of us. I ordered the Cortesse pasta which was loaded with vegetables and delicious pesto. My friend had the seared scallops which were perfectly cooked served over creamy mashed potatoes with garlicky spinach and a butter wine sauce. We took our time and decided to skip dessert so we could get to our next destination. We were pleased with the ambiance of the restaurant even as it filled up, the service was wonderful and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend Capuli. read more

Just great! 4.5-stars. Capuli is a small gem of a restaurant tucked in inconspicuously off Main Street in Westport. Featuring Mediterranean cuisine, the menu is contemporary, with beautifully prepared and presented appetizers, salads and entrees. Typical dishes are skewers, Greek salad, eggplant, salmon and a good balance of fish, poultry, pasta and steak. Service was delightful, we loved our waitress Gabi who was professional, attentive and pleasant. A couple areas of improvement could be a broader selection of whiskies from the bar, the addition of lamb on the menu, and a nicer offering of (warm) bread at the table, perhaps including olives, hummus, and EVOO. Came in on a Monday evening for dinner with my family and was surprised to see a fairly busy restaurant, which was promising. They've got some unique artwork on the walls and nice Spanish guitar music playing in the background. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and the food was good. Everything was visually appealing. I had the salmon roulade based on suggestion from the waitress. The highlight of the dish was the sauce which was rich, tangy and slightly sweet. The salmon was cooked well. I have to say, I enjoyed dessert most of all. The chocolate mousse was rich and not too sweet. It was less fluffy than other mousses I've tried so it felt like a substantial dessert. read more

So cute place although seating too tight and literally at the front door which is uncomfortable. Only a handful of apps so we chose two - combo chimichurri skewers and butternut squash bruschetta. Bruschetta was fine - nothing great nothing bad. But the skewers were horrendous. Tiny portion, overcooked chewy steak and no chimichurri to be found. I'm sorry when you only offer a few apps they should be stellar. That being said, dinner was much better overall for everyone and desserts were decent except lava cake which was overcooked and spongy and two people at our table ordered and both were bad. Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and had a *delicious* kale salad with shrimp. The person I was with had the eggplant polenta dish which she loved and looked so good. Definitely plan to come back here again to try more things (and get that salad again). The food was 5 stars but the service lacked just a bit. What an Amazing find. We decided to venture out of Greenwich and try something new in Westport. While we were In our driveway a neighbor strikes a conversation and tells us about a place her friend just went to in Westport and we must try it. Well that place was closed and I am so glad. I turned to Yelp for help and based on several reviews and pictures I chose Capuli. What a beautiful restaurant, the husband and wife team sure know what they are doing. The sun was shining and we decided to sit outside. We ordered Bay Clam chowder 10/10 outstanding! I could have eaten a bucket of it. OMG so good!!! The grilled octopus and baby potatoes were delicious so were the Chimichurri Steak Skewers. My husband ordered the Greek bowl with flank steak and I had the grilled flank steak sandwich both were 10/10 While we were eating I was basically promoting the restaurant to those walking by telling them how good it is, and two couples came in. Idk how I lived down the street & didn't know this place existed! I am only judging based on 2 takeout orders, but upon recommendation of fellow yelpers & my brother, I chose to give this place a shot & am SO glad I did. I absolutely Love their Cajun shrimp pene pasta. I ordered it both times, with no regrets! The garlic toast that comes with it is also very tasty. Now, the caesar salad unfortunately, was a little too 'anchovy forward' for me. I am aware that you use anchovy paste or actual anchovies in making the dressing, but I am really picky about how 'fishy' my dressing is & this was too much so, for me, personally. Other than that, the chicken was good & lettuce was fresh. Both dishes were prepared/presented very well. There are a bunch of things i'd like to try here. 4.5 stars! Yumm read more

This place is so yummy! I was visiting from California and am so glad we ate here for dinner one night. I came in on a weekday evening and it wasn't crowded at all and we got amazing service. We were given some bread to start which was great. Then for appetizers we ordered the baked artichoke jalapeño dip, the shrimp skewers, and the roasted butternut squash crostinis. I'm not a big fan of butternut squash in general, but all three of these were pretty good. I especially liked the shrimp as they were seasoned well and weren't "smelly." I decided to get the pesto pasta as my main meal. The portion size was amazing and the pasta tasted fresh and flavorful. As mentioned before, service was outstanding. The employee that took care of us (I think she was the owner?) was friendly, attentive, and proactive. I highly recommend coming here. read more

We had a lovely date-night dinner! It was not crowded - it was a Wednesday night - although a number of meals went out the door with delivery service folk. We split a bottle of chianti that was very nice as well as the Caesar salad. The server warned us the dressing had a noticeable amount of anchovy in it. It was delicious, and it was nice to be warned in case we did not. We both adore home made pasta and the tagliatelle was perfect. My wife is a vegetarian and asked for a preparation of the pasta from an item with shrimp and they accommodated. She said it was perfect. I had the grilled lamb special with pasta instead of potatoes - again no problem. The grapes with wine reduction was an amazing flavor! And so many restaurants serve mediocre coffee. I had to ask the waiter to take my beverage order and that was the type of service we got the rest of our visit. Kudos to the chef though! Our only small suggestion is that the patio chairs could potentially be upgraded. Everything else was so great that having folding chairs outside felt a little out of place. The moment I stepped into Capuli I felt transported into the Mediterranean. It reminded me of the restaurants in Santorini with its arches and romantic table settings. The food lived up to and exceeded expectations from other reviews I read before choosing to pop in. I ordered the grilled flank steak sandwich with fries and my wife ordered the Eggplant Polenta Napoleon. I would order the sandwich for lunch every day if I could. The jalapeño cilantro aioli is worth the visit alone. A ciabatta roll that's soft and tastes freshly baked. I took a bit of my wife's polenta and it's a good thing I did early on because she devoured it. I'm not usually one for eggplant but it's one of those dishes that makes me think I could be vegetarian if I ate that quality of veggie dish - and that's saying a lot for an Argentinian who eats more meat than he should. Finally, the dessert. I am not a chocolate mousse fan. I repeat, I am not a chocolate mousse fan. However... I am a fan of Capuli's chocolate mousse. Everything from the texture in the flavor was perfect and completed one of the more memorable lunches I've had in a while. read more
