I stumped upon Laylas on social media and I'm so glad I did. My wife and I took a chance and visited the Westport location. We found parking right in front as we walked in we were immediately greeted. Since this was our first time, we'd asked for recommendations and Marcelo, the cashier gave us some suggestions. We ordered some chicken/lamb shawarma's and chickpeas falafel. Marcelo was super helpful as we didn't expect this but he was bringing customers meals to their table. He was attentive, friendly and even asked how was meal. We were super impressed with the food, the staff, ambiance, cleanliness and parking. Back to the food, OMG so delicious!!! Wrap sizes were a nice healthy portion and the falafels with hummus were amazingly tasty. We're 1000% coming back for more. Hey this might be one of our regular eateries here in CT. I love Layla's and so hapy that this family owned business has now opened several locations in Fairfield Ct. This place is one of the smaller ones, but offers the same menu as their main location in Stamford where I first discovered them Their Babagounoush and Hummus is one of the best I have tried and introduced several folks to them My main go to dish is the lamb Shawarma which is very juicy, though the kibbe is not too far behind. As seating's are not that abundant, I usually do pick up orders there. Do try them if you are in the area. read more

Did delivery service/take out. Was quicker than expected from stamford. It's our first time so we sampled several different dishes was impressed with how fresh everything was. The lentil soup in particular was incredible, both types of spinach pie delicious- glad I ordered both, I loved the shawarma chicken flavor! Garlic sauce amazing, pita extra extra yummy & I dont even care for pita. Basically not 1 bad dish - We will return!!! Excellent and affordable. read more

Love going to Layla's! The hummus and pita chips are what keeps us coming back but we also have enjoyed the opportunity to explore the rest of the menu. But definitely don't go there without getting the pita chips and hummus! The lentil soup was good and really was brought to the next level with the pita to dip. Pita was actually fluffy! The deluxe falafel wrap was also good. The garlic sauce is really amazing with it so if you're a big fan of that get one of their to-go tub to enjoy more on it mixed with the hot sauce. Really deluxe! The employees were helpful and nice. The food was prepared quick for a it being the dinner rush. The dinner room is really small so it can get crowded with pickup drivers coming in and ordering at the counter. There's more parking in the back of the building too! read more

Shout out to Layla's for amazing service (and delicious food, as usual). We ordered takeout online for a group of about 10 people, and when I went to pick it up, they couldn't find the order. It turned out that the person who placed our order had accidentally placed it for the Layla's in Stamford, 25 minutes away, rather than this Layla's in Westport. Even though it was a busy time, the staff contacted their store in Stamford, confirmed what had happened, and remade the whole order for us while I waited, and didn't charge anything for all of this! I had the worst experience with food and miserable cashier, it was very unprofessional she was talking arabic with workers and she thought I don't understand what she was saying. When I asked for beef on spit, it wasn't there came from freezer and very little chopped up pieces I asked worker I been eating this food since I was a kid, she was older cashier with mean and attitude look. Very disappointing and will never go back. Shame on the staff April, 18, 2025 around 1:00 pm and when you walk in smelled like bathroom not cleaned for days. I hope owner watches the camera and she can get rid of useless workers. read more

Very warm and welcoming place. The staff seemed genuinely happy to see you even on a routine takeout order. The lentil soup was great, I would definitely order it again. The falafel salad was to die for. Very filling, which is hard for a salad of any kind. The hummus which I hear is homemade was delicious as well. This was a great detour off of I 95, I'll be back the next time I'm driving home from somewhere up north. read more

Omg, so good! I had an appointment nearby and was starving. I saw the great reviews and had to try out Connecticut falafel for myself I had the falafel with eggplant and they also gave me some fries on the side. The eggplant hit the spot! It was very good. Terrible experience. Ordered on Uber eats, made a couple very simple requests to accommodate our dietary restrictions and they ignored them all. Asked for no rice or pita and extra salad cause we're doing keto. Apparently that was to complicated. Everything was ice cold even though the delivery was super quick. The lamb shawarma tasted like prison meat. Inedible. So disappointed. read more

Wow I can't say enough good things about Layla's. The delicious food, the location, THE PEOPLE. I ordered the chicken Kabab bowl with rice and lentils as a base. I also got the baba ghanoush and garlic dip as a side, both I could droooooool over. 1000/10. They also let me try a falafel ball in line. It was incredible. Our absolute favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the area. Great place for simple, classic food with a burst of flavor. The meat is so tender and juicy, a variety of toppings to choose from - this place never disappoints. Never disappoints. Loved the melding of the flavors and textures: fried eggplant, falafel and creamy sauces in warm pita. Heaven! Tabbouleh on the side was very fresh and a perfect counterpoint to the richness of the sandwich. My husband enjoyed his Arabian lamb shawarma sandwich served with small salad and hummus on the side. Simpy put, Layla's Falafel is great. I've been going to their various locations (there are currently three - Stamford, Westport, and Fairfield) for years and it has from really good to fantastic. The staff are extremely friendly and always willing to help out, regardless of how busy the place. This review is for the Westport location and it is mainly a take-out place, although there are a few small tables if you care to eat in, but they only seat two each. The falafel is the best I've had and the chicken shawarma is excellent. I usually don't care for hummus, but I make an exception for Layla's, which coupled with the falafel, is second to none. I would highly recommend this place for delicious and authentic Middle Eastern food! read more

Came here with a group of friends for lunch today! My friends come here often & have RAVED about it for a while! I've been SOOO eager to try it! I walked in & ordered with the friendly staff at the counter & ALMOST IMMEDIATELY the food came out! WOW! I couldn't believe how quick it was. I ordered the falafel platter, one of the employees recommended it! I was NOT disappointed. Everything on my plate was SO FRESH & delicious. At times, falafel makes my stomach hurt but these did not. I can't even find the right words but this place is just amazing. We celebrated thanksgiving a day early and tried driving back thanksgiving day. I knew most places would be closed but saw Layla's and was hoping it was open. Sadly it was closed however the owner saw us peek inside and gathered what he could to feed my husband and I and our three boys. We are from Virginia and have a long drive ahead of us. For him to still find what he could to feed us is the sweetest thing that's happened to us in a long time. I mean seriously y'all these people are kind and serve amazing food. 10 stars if I could. What arrived were heavy, leaden, grease-soaked eggrolls. * The Lamb Burger: This was a masterclass in how not to cook. The meat was over-processed to the point of having the texture of "guppy poop" and was salted so heavily it was borderline toxic. * The Halloumi Fiasco: They topped the burger with Halloumi--a squeaky, salty cheese that does not melt. Placing a cold, rubbery slab of salt on top of an already oversalted, mushy patty shows a fundamental lack of basic culinary knowledge. The Environment: A Health Hazard If the food wasn't insulting enough, the atmosphere was stomach-turning. While I was attempting to navigate the inedible mess on my plate, there were kids vomiting in the dining area. Multiple children were getting sick, and the staff acted as if it were a routine occurrence. No one cared, no one rushed to clean it properly, and no one seemed concerned about the obvious health risks. I should have taken the vomiting children as a warning sign. I left the restaurant feeling ill and ended up getting violently sick from the few bites I actually managed to swallow. This place is an embarrassment to Israeli hospitality. It is fake food run by people with zero understanding of cooking. Save your money, save your stomach, and stay far away from this disaster. I will never return.
