This just became my favorite place for gyros in Fairfield county. I love the traditional gyro meat on the spit and this place has just that! You can choose from lamb, pork or chicken. I went with the green salad topped with lamb gyro meat. The meat was awesome and the salad consisted of cucumbers, tomatoes, onion and feta. Pita bread also comes lining the bowl. The salad along with the meat was very tasty. The tomatoes were juicy and flavorful and the feta had the right amount of tang and crumble. The place is clean and the service friendly. Absolute worse food. 1 stars because they made the food. Used Uber Eats. So figured the soggy issue was theirs. But the over fried burnt fish oil tasting cheese dishes from overused fryer oil was way too much and upsetting with the spanakopita was it was literally cold and not fresh. Forget about meat dishes. Absolutely gross and I think they are probably taking advantage of the fact that people are trapped inside their homes and they won't complain or are overwhelmed so the quality isn't there. This place is overpriced and not worth it. I do like Mediterranean food, since I'm Turkish. I placed a 70 dollar order for 4 people. It was enough food for 2 people, so I ordered from Taj that's a little closer to home for me. They never disappoint. I ordered 30 dollars worth of delish Indian food and it was enough for 2 days. Holy cow, these GRK fries are amazing!! I am not usually the biggest fan of cheese with my fries, but I would have these all day long if my scale and waistline allowed it. Definitely a tasty treat when you want to indulge. The fries were still crispy when I got home and the feta had melted in a bit. The combination, along with a touch of oregano, was perfect. The saganaki, or fried Greek cheese, brought me back to my trip to Athens a few years ago. It's cooked just like they did in the restaurants in the Greek capital. Unfortunately the spanakopita was out after a busy day, so I ordered the the tiropita, rolled fillo with cheese inside. They were good, but I would probably go earlier next time and get the spanakopita. I took my food to go, but the restaurant is a cute little spot decorated several steps above the typical ethnic takeout spot. I really love the food here but unfortunately the last few experiences here have made me not want to come back. Again, the food is awesome but at what cost? I noticed the last time we dined in that we would be charged a new service fee if we pay with a credit card. The fact the we are already tipping a server and then have to pay an extra fee is just not custom in Fairfield. I'm not cheap but that does add up. Honestly, I can go get a Gyro at the diner and not have to worry about that. Then last week I called in an order for a lamb gyro and chicken gyro. When my husband went to pick it up, the girl who I spoke to on the phone said we ordered a pork gyro, which we did not. My husband said that I didn't and she kept Insisting we did. The owner kindly offered to make the correct order in which she then insisted again that we ordered pork. My husband walked out instead because we shouldn't have to argue with a kid who should have just backed off at that point. She shouldn't be working there. We haven't been back since. I'm not a difficult customer but I think it just turned me off from the place. Fairfield is full of great food places and it's not worth getting aggravated over gyros. My advice to the owner is to drop the service fee and hire professional staff, not a bratty kid. I feel bad because the food is really good and I'm sure the owner is a really nice man. read more

The chicken souvlaki was quite good, Nice chunks of fresh white chicken, fresh pita and tzatziki. if I had only ordered that I would give it 4 to 5 stars. The spanakopita appetizer was so disappointing--overcooked Filo dough and skimpy amount of flavorless spinach. It was rolled in a pie shape, instead of the juicy yummy squares when it's baked in a pan. The galekroboureko filling was more like a cheesecake than a creamy custard. I would not order it again. So in summary I guess basic lunch fair is good, but Greek specialties so far are mediocre. I was really hoping it would be like the authentic stuff you get in Astoria. read more

Good gyros here today for lunch. I had the pork gryo on a pita while my daughter had the lamb gyro. Both are jammed with several thickly cut slices of gryo meat, along with thinly sliced onions, some tomato and taziki sauce. My pork slices were a bit on the dry side but otherwise its a nice sized gyro that will fill you up. I paid a few bucks more to get fries and a soda. The fries were nice and crispy, very well seasoned. No complaints whatsoever on the food or service here. read more

So as a disclaimer... the food was seemingly ok however if you're looking to be treated as less than human then DEFINITELY order from here. At the end of January I placed a catering order with Nick who was seemingly ok with the menu I chose. We reviewed it and the cost. I told him the day AND date of the lunch, we agreed on 10a pickup and I said I wanted to simply confirm all the information he gave me and luncheon details and I will call back with payment. He says no problem. I call back less than a week later to review with him and well he spoke to me like he couldn't care less didn't want to review anything and just passed me off to a young lady to take payment. I've worked in the food industry over 12yrs and well maybe people aren't his thing but rather the kitchen was so I shrugged my shoulders and spoke to the lady. I confirmed price and day AND date with her and made payment. I show up on the day AND date agreed and no one is there. I came in from NYC for this. I inquired with the businesses next door to see if they had seen this Nick person. Nothing. No one. A nice man was waiting outside too and could see I was in a bit of distress and just so happened to have this Nick's number. So he called him. Well I got an earful about how I was wrong about the date of the event. I said i'm sorry but that's not the case. I distinctly said Tuesday Feb 05th. And then confirmed with who I gave payment to. Nonetheless he got there 1hr after I was supposed to pick up the $450 order. I sat quietly to allow them to get it done. The pizza place next door allowed them to use their ovens since they were hot already. Me, well I wasn't able to take the food until after 12p. There were serious repercussions because of my lateness where I lost my job and had to pay for this work lunch out of my own unemployed pocket. I called this establishment two days later after the upset on both ends seemingly calmed down and asked to speak with Nick. He took no responsibility for writing the date down wrong. Blamed me for confirming the date with who he passed me off to for payment and blamed me for that young lady, either his coworker or employee, apparently not confirming the date of the event/pickup with him and treated me thoroughly disgusting. As someone who has been in customer service and the food service industry for the length of my career, he was so disrespectful I really can't write what i'd like to say. I had no reason to not give the correct date, I traveled two hours to get this food that was requested so that's just crazy. And the consequences for me, which are truly ridiculous I will admit, were due to his ill preparedness. And not ONE apology just blaming me. I asked if he could provide some type of refund. HE indicated an amount and I hesitantly obliged because it wasn't enough to be honest, but it was evident this Nick wasn't going to do the right thing. After a week I saw a pending refund. It was half the amount HE told me he was providing. So I called Nick. He let me know because he had to pay the pizzeria next door some money because they assisted in him getting the food out he decided that would come out of my refund. I was speechless. Again no apology and he proceeded to get very loud and disrespectful to me again saying how dare I have confirmed the day AND date with the person he passed me off to for payment. Isn't that what people do? Confirm those items at point of purchase? I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE OR BE A PATRON AGAIN. They have no concept of how to treat people let alone their paying customers. Considering I'm from Fairfield County and have tons of friends and family in the area who always ask me about food establishments because of my connections in food, i'll be sure to not only NOT recommend or mention this place to go, but make sure to say DON'T go here. This was not an ok situation and should be taken care of because they didn't meet their responsibilities. read more

Review update: I came here for the second time only to appease my father who likes this kind of place. I remembered my pretty bad experience from the last time around where nothing tasted good. Apparently the old owner sold it to the chef and everything was much better. The dressing, while only oil and salt, was so good. My dad and I shared the mixed platter, and they were nice enough to give us some mixed vegetables as well since my dad had been inquiring about vegetables. Everything was cooked very well and the seasoning was definitely better. From 2 stars to 4. The only thing I didn't like from the entire meal was the Greek yogurt inside the lamb sausage. It was a little bland, but everything else was delicious. I'm looking forward to getting a big fat Greek salad the next time I'm there. Aug '17: I've had much better. The spanakopita came in what looks like sausages in a blanket and the flavor was a little weird. The Greek salad was fresh and good, the dressing tasted oily, and it was small for $11. This is a great! The color of the wall is so vibrant and really sets the mood upon entering. It's a small place but they have a large, open kitchen and plenty of seating so no complaints from me on that front. My husband and I stopped here today for lunch after visiting the zoo and we really enjoyed it. I had a Chicken Gyro with no tzatziki sauce and a side salad. I particularly enjoyed the salad because it was dressed perfectly - a light vinaigrette made of olive oil, vinegar, and dried herbs. It was perfect and the flavor of the olive oil really shined through. The chicken on the gyro was great - seasoned, grilled, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I didn't even miss the tzatziki sauce. My husband had the Lamb Gyro with tzatziki sauce and french fries. The fries were crispy and fresh and sprinkled with herbs. They paired well with the richness of the lamb and he really enjoyed the two together. Our favorite part of the meal, however, were the dolmades that we had as an appetizer. We had 6 grape leaves filled with rice and they were perfect! Tender, lemony, and bright - they were absolutely awesome. They also gave us complimentary rice pudding after our meal and I ate two small bites of it (but wish I could have eaten more)! It was delicious - creamy and decadent with a light dusting of cinnamon. Amazing! Overall I'd highly recommend this restaurant. The only downside we experienced was with the service. The server did not bring us any water. We received our appetizers and our mains before receiving anything to drink. Really 2.5 stars. I'm sure CT knows great Greek food, but this experience wasn't it. My Lemon Chicken sandwich had not a hint of lemon. There were little to no veggies inside. Lots of chicken though with a creamy (but not delicious) sauce. The server was sweet and they do give you a sample of rice pudding- which was very good. I did discover a Greek Iced Tea that I liked.
