$7.89 + tax... Two slices of lightly coated bread.

So very disappointing... This diner has been a community staple for decades. My husband grew up eating at Orem's with his family. But the "Short Stack French Toast" was two pieces, side-by-side, of lightly coated bread with a take-out plastic side of maple/breakfast syrup. Over $40 for me and a 3 year old is absolutely insane and so disappointing. There are less expensive diners around. Try Dimitri's in Ridgefield... they at least put in a bit of effort.

I came by for dinner last night and only got pictures of my dessert because I was too hungry and jumped right in to my Greek chicken on pita w/ fries. So there's an Apple pie alamode from last night and my breakfast from this morning because I had to give Orem's an appropriate review. Perfect eggs over medium, perfect bacon, real butter for my Belgian waffle and fantastic coffee w/ raw sugar available as an option to sweeten instead of fake or processed sweeteners! I love a good classic diner and Orem's hits all the marks w/ classic diner looks, feel, and service and everything is incredibly in great shape. Service is also the correct balance of attentiveness without being too much. Well played, Orem's Diner - well played!!

There are days when I just crave breakfast food. So one day for lunch the urge hit me while at work. So I went to the diner. I got a scrambled egg platter and a single pancake. I have gotten food from there plenty of times but never left a review. The experience is always good. The staff is very friendly and consistent. They food comes out pretty quickly. They have a big seating area but I mainly eat at the counter. And the prices are pretty reasonable. You really can never go wrong with a diner!

There's something wonderful about a diner on a cold, wet day. It's cozy. Everything is good here. My go to is the Western Omelette. Soup, liver & onions, club sandwiches- it's all good. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is a burger. They're good, don't get me wrong- but everything on it is a la carte, even the lettuce and tomatoes. So it gets pricey quick. The owners wife makes the most incredible cheesecake, but not every day- so that's the first thing we check in the dessert cooler every time we come!

If you've even stayed in Wilton for any length of time, you have likely at least heard of a spot called Orem's Diner. If you've driven on the 7 and headed towards Norwalk from say Danbury, then you have at least passed by this place. For me personally, I've come here every now and then and have eaten from here at various times of the day. This past Good Friday was my first visit in almost 2 years, but I needed a place to dine that night, so this was an easy choice. The photos shown here are what I had that night: the Monte Cristo with a side of seasoned curly fries. I chose Pepsi for my drink because I honestly couldn't go with just water and it was a tad late for coffee for my liking. Now, for those uneducated on what a Monte Cristo is, it is a form of Croque Monsieur that uses French toast. If you haven't had Croque Monsieur before, I do recommend you try one because they do slap! It's why they're a French icon! The ambiance of the place definitely fits the place it is. You don't get much more of a true diner look than this. The food I've had over the years does average out to four stars, and that's the biggest reason for this not getting five. The Monte Cristo is a 3.5 out of 5: good, but you definitely need to eat it quick because it gets cold quick. The fries were seasoned perfectly and I have no complaints there. Now, I don't know if they still serve this, but my absolute favorite thing to get from here is when I would come for breakfast years ago and grab a Belgian waffle with a scoop of chocolate ice cream on top. I don't know of any other diner that does it that way, but that was the best thing I have ever had from Orem's. Serve it with bacon and it was breakfast HEAVEN! The service is generally friendly, but the methods of payment do irk me a bit. Cash is preferred, but they do accept card payments. What they DON'T accept is Apple Pay, and I find that to be a bit of a nuisance when paying for my food and is the other reason I have to keep this at a four and not bump it up to a five. Still, if you can find your way around that, you won't have a problem eating here. So yeah, if you're ever in Wilton, this is a pretty good spot to try, and it's a staple here. It's not going away any time soon. Coming for breakfast is preferable if you want the best food, but don't knock dinner either.

Food was extra delicious reasonably priced diner was very clean, including the bathroom! Plenty of staff, attentive, and everyone very polite! We came after lunch hours so it wasn't busy! But the place is big where it can definitely take the lunch rush hour w/o waiting! Menu has a big selection as well as deserts! Definitely recommend & will be back!!

Ordered a fruit bowl for my toddler and was given mushy fruit, which appears to have caused food poisoning. He's been sick for two days now after we had dinner at Orem's.

The host who seated us was friendly, and our server was attentive. The menu includes a variety of "small plates," larger entrées, and a small selection of sushi rolls. The beverage menu offers an extensive selection of crafted cocktails as well as mocktails, and there is a small curated wine list. My party chose to order the lunch specials that are offered on weekdays. These include a choice of house or cucumber salad, and two small plates or sushi rolls for a fixed price. Both salads were flavorful and good-sized portions. We loved the spicy crab, spicy tuna, and shrimp tempura rolls! I was impressed that they removed the inedible portion of the shrimp tail on the latter, something most restaurants fail to do. But, can we talk about the Detroit-style pizza? Not only was it authentic, but it was absolutely delicious! As someone who grew up in Detroit, Blackbird did a phenomenal job with it, and made me feel nostalgic. I have been to many restaurants in downtown New Canaan over the past several years. I cannot wait to return for another meal at Blackbird!

I've walked by their parking lots and had to navigate my way past cars coming to eat here. And then there's a few times where I had ordered from this place on UberEats. It would be their pulled pork Mac and cheese I would get delivered 3 miles up the road to where I work, and I thoroughly enjoyed it every time I've had it. Last night, I had finally come here in person. After an in-service function at my job, me and my best friend from work went here for dinner. Honestly, it was a much needed night. I will say that parking for the dinner rush is pure hell. If you do manage to find a good parking spot during dinner rush, go buy a lottery ticket. But once we did find a space to park (the downpour from earlier made me have to both channel my inner Olympic gymnast and wish I could levitate so that I could miss the rain puddle where I was to get out), it wasn't too bad to get in. You have a little Photo Booth before you even get into the restaurant proper which we saw a kid using upon our arrival. The interior is definitely reminiscent of rustic British atmospheres. Not like being transported back to the medieval times so much as going to an old town British bar where you might either drink 80 beers with a group of vikings or end up as part of the chaos during Gaston's song sequence from Beauty and the Beast. It took a moment to decide what we wanted, but we were seated right away since we were just two people. I decided to start myself off with "The Jasmine Blossom", which has a Japanese gin base. Ever tried drinking a flower? Ever thought that that flavor tasted good? That's what I got from this drink. As for food, my friend had the Buttermilk Ranch Crunch Wrap, opting for sweet potato fries for a side, and my order was the hot honey chicken sandwich with the regular fries. I wanted to do something different from what I had previously had delivered this time around. I would say we both enjoyed our meals, but I do definitely think while my fries did have a good crisp to it, the sweet potato fries were the better fry. As described by my friend, the Crunch Wrap she had was sweet. Not in a sickening way, but sweet in how a way that makes a crunch wrap tasty. As for my sandwich, it looked like a burger at first. That was until I took a closer look at it and saw that this was indeed chicken. I dislocated my jaw and took my first bite. The hot honey made the overall sandwich sweet. Not sickeningly sweet, but the kind of sweet that makes a hot honey chicken sandwich tasty. I will say that the bottom of my sandwich struggled to hold its contents. It flopped in the middle, and it was a lot of work trying to hold it together to finish. The chicken was indeed juicy, and probably contributed to why the bottom struggled to keep itself together. But DAMN was it good! The prices honestly weren't bad either. For what I had, it came out to $33.32 which might seem like a lot until you realize it was both the sandwich and the cocktail on my tab. And no, I did not make that total up! That's what it showed on my tab. Speaking of, I do like the nice touch of getting post cards and a "Little Pub" sticker given to us on our tabs. Mine had Godzilla on it. They were pretty funny like that. We were in and out in maybe a slight bit over an hour, which honestly isn't bad given everything typed in this review. I'd definitely get food from here again, but maybe next time I try it I'd do well to wait for a time not so busy to come.

They were in a heavy book (reminded me of a high school yearbook) with six pages of choices plus an insert of daily specials. Post Road is the kind of diner that diner lovers dream of. Their menu is an embarrassment of riches and would seamlessly fit in alongside anything you would find on the Sunrise Highway on Long Island or on Route 17 in New Jersey. Three of us walked in around 11:30am today, and our first order of business was deciding if we'd go for lunch or breakfast food. We all went for breakfast plates- pancakes ($9.99) with a side of scrambled eggs ($2.99), GF Pancakes ($12.98), and for me a "Protein Breakfast" ($13.99) and a coffee ($3.49). So, I'm sure you're asking, "what on earth is a protein breakfast?' Well, it was four egg whites, a few gorgeous tomato slices, and a nice piece of grilled chicken. It was pretty filling and everything tasted great. Our server was efficient and professional and swiftly brought over a "to go" box for the excess of those enormous pancakes. The dining room is awesome, a real throwback to the 1950's with plenty of old-time booths, art deco neon signs, checkerboard ceramic tile, and music\entertainment\pop culture images everywhere. We really enjoyed our visit !
