My favorite is their Barcelona sandwich, which is a breaded chicken cutlet with provolone, roasted red peppers, and pesto mayonnaise.

It was quite busy when we arrived on a late Sunday a.m. in January. Tables were filled and there was a line for ordering. We decided on a tomato cheddar soup and the Churn it Up sandwich with Havarti and provolone. We were told the wait would be 40 mins, giving us the option to wait it out or go elsewhere. We stuck it out and the food was at our table in less than 20 mins. The sandwiches were ooey gooey toasted cheesiness and paired perfectly with the creamy tomato soup. It came with a lighty dressed arugula salad. I had a freshly brewed ice tea and my dining partner got a Dr. Brown's soda. The breakfast rush was soon over but people were still coming in to eat and grab take out while we enjoyed our meals. They also offer beers and wines and hot chocolate. The entire place was very clean, including the restrooms, although I did not see any table wiping going on. Staff were smiling and polite. Plenty of parking in lot shared with other business.

So this year I have been waiting patiently and finally spring came around and they opened up but I advise to call ahead bc there hours vary and also weather related. My standard fare there is almost always two dogs with grilled onions, sometimes with mustard and sometimes with ketchup. Always delish. This time I ordered one of my standards but wanted to try one of the special Reuben dogs which has bacon, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. The Reuben was ok although the bacon was quite overdone. Not sure if that's the intent but it was a bit off-putting to me. The Dog itself was spot on but I still preferred my dog with grilled onions. My next visit would m gonna try another of their specials alongside my standard. My friend, also a hot dog lover, ordered two dogs with mustard and kraut. He loved them, and wants to return. A new Dog Daze fan.

This is 2026. Does that mean my next visit will come in 2034? Who knows and who cares! Let's get into it. So what we have here is an unassuming spot that sits right next to the Gulf Gas Station at the intersection that takes you over the Wilton Train Station and into the town center. For people traveling through Wilton to go towards say Norwalk or Westport, this could serve as a rather convenient spot to get something for the road. It could even be a good starting point for those who are starting a road trip out of state. That is, of course, if this place is any good. Was it? Let me take you along on my experience and you be the judge for yourself. So I walk in, place under a new name since I last visited. Right away, I notice that while the options are less for drinks and snacks, it has a cozier vibe than what the Wilton Deli a mile up the road has to offer. There's couches to sit on, and I think I remember seeing pillows on those couches. Of course, I didn't come to lunch. I came to grab a quick breakfast and go. There's also an old-fashioned atmosphere that is accompanied by an old-fashioned cash register that the cashier uses. It's an environment. The menu is written in chalk on multiple chalkboards and the prices for each item. Well... each food item anyway. I didn't really see anything about the cost of the drinks. Anyway, I decided to go with the "homemade" French toast with chocolate chips. Because it was apparently homemade, these were made to order and so it was gonna be a bit before my order was ready. That plus a Monster came out to about 14 and a half. The cashier seemed nice enough at first impression and happily called out the order to the cooks in the kitchen. As I waited, another guy came from the back to clean the coffee counters, which by the way are made out of wood. But we need to talk about the bathroom piece. Oh the bathroom! So when I went in to kill time before I could get my food, I immediately noticed a problem. There was no light bulb, so there was no way to turn the light on. That wasn't a huge deal today because it was bright out, but during winter mornings or dark and dreary days, this could be a very big issue if someone needs to use the bathroom. There is a note above the toilet instructing us to clean up after ourselves. On its own, I have no problem doing this as a customer. However, when I tried to flush the toilet, the handle was broken. I tried a few times to get it to work and flush down. Nothing. This was bad. It was at that moment when I'd realized that I needed to report this, so when I was done with the bathroom, I immediately notified the same girl who worked the cash register. Yeah, they were aware of the problem. Shortly I explained the problem, the guy who cleaned the counters from earlier came next to the cashier and mentioned that there was a sign stating this was indeed going on. Um yeah, what sign? I saw no sign explaining anything of the sort! Only the "clean up after yourself" note above the toilet. It then became a back and forth of who was supposed to take care of the toilets between that guy and the cashier and it made me feel uneasy witnessing it as my food was being served. On the food end the service was at least nice here. The coffee counter guy did give me two containers for syrup and wrapped the containers in plastic which was nice. As for how the food tasted, it was decent. Nothing spectacular, but decent. Honestly, I've never really had a problem with the food here. I just hope today was just a bad day on the bathroom front. But because it was my first time using the bathroom and this was experience I had with it, I have to subtract one star from the rating I would have otherwise given it.

The staff was super friendly, and I ordered a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. It was made on a Brioche roll with a fried egg. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the egg or the sandwich overall. It was okay, probably a three-star kind of thing. Next time I went back, I tried the Calise sandwich, which has chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze. I asked for the broccoli rabe on the side because I know everyone makes it differently. I get that it can be bitter, but some places make it taste amazing without the bitterness, so I wanted it on the side. The sandwich was really good, so I'd give it four stars, especially since the breakfast one was just three in my book. Sometimes you gotta visit a place a couple of times to really get a feel for their food. I wasn't really a fan of the broccoli rabe--it was a bit too bitter for me. But the sandwich itself was tasty, with well-seasoned chicken and really fresh mozzarella. Not sure if they make the mozzarella in-house, but it's delicious. It tasted just like you'd expect from an authentic Italian deli. Very good. Third time I went, I tried the Mother Clucker, which has a chicken cutlet, Russian dressing, cheddar cheese, and bacon. I wanted to try it because I'd seen it being made during my last visit and it looked awesome. It took about ten minutes to get ready. When I opened it up, I realized it had melted cheddar, not sliced like I thought, but it was all good. The sandwich was tasty, but a bit over the top with the bacon and melted cheddar--almost too much. I think using sliced cheddar would bring everything together better. The melted cheese kinda takes away from it, in my opinion. The bacon was crispy even with the cheesy sauce on top, and the chicken was nicely seasoned. I definitely plan to come back and try the Chopped Italian Combo. The staff's always friendly and welcoming, and it's a solid spot if you're looking for breakfast, with plenty of breakfast platters and other menu items that might catch your eye.
