The eggplant sandwich wasn't really a grilled panini but more like a sub. But it was on good ciabatta and the ingredients were excellent. We have frequented the Newtown Deli quite a few times now for lunch and to do some catering for us as well. Realized I had not done a Yelp review and felt they deserved it! We find their lunch sandwiches to be quite good, a nice variety of specialty sandwiches and always done with consistency on amount of ingredients. They use Boar's Head cold cuts which is another reason we like them. While there is always a steady stream of people going in and out, service is friendly and quick! Recently we used Newtown deli to order a large grinder sandwich for a party we were having. It was ready for the time we asked to pick up, very fresh, and nicely done! My daughter and I go to Newtown Deli before getting to our business and they are always professional and nice. They take all the proper precautions with Covid and the deli is very clean and bright. Usually we just get an egg on a roll and coffee. Sometimes lunch and it has always been good. A lot of times we will call from the car to have the order ready when we get there. read more

Literally 4 slices total of various meat on the sandwich probably less than 2 oz. Some lettuce, 1 slice of tomato, couple bits of pepper. I stopped in here for a breakfast sandwich after a hike in the nearby state park. I was able to order online and then pick it up within 5 minutes! The breakfast sandwiches were bacon, ham, or sausage with two eggs/cheese on a hard roll and were so inexpensive! Two sandwiches came to $5 and they used good quality meat on them. Overall they were good, could have used a bit more meat, but considering the price it was totally reasonable! I'd recommend stopping in for a sandwich. read more

We had to take a drive up to Newtown to stop at a shop and it was around lunchtime so our MO lately has been looking for local delis. We were driving by and spotted this place and did a quick U-turn and stopped in. We both ordered chicken Paninis. Mine consisted of chicken, bacon, avocado, and a spicy chipotle sauce and my partner had one similar but it was a buffalo sauce. Both of them were excellent. Everybody was very nice and helpful behind the counter and the place was busy and very clean. This will be kept on our list for the next time we're up in the Newtown area. read more

This deli has gotten new staff and owners in the last year or two and is a completely different deli than it used to be. The food and service is always supreme I will refuse to go to another deli in this town besides this one. Short version: Great sandwiches, I go here on Sundays when the General Store is closed. Drinks, lots of other deli things, and butcher. Long version: To me, Newtown Deli is a great sandwich place. Their chicken cutlet BLT is magnificent, and I have also enjoyed their prosciutto and roasted red pepper-stuffed "Italian". They also offer the full range of deli products: lots of beverages, cold cuts, macaroni salads, pre-made desserts and ravioli... I can't remember all of it, you'll have to see for yourself. In addition they have a full service butcher. Located in a small storefront on 25, it's pretty easy to drive by and miss it, but definitely worth a stop for lunch. Oh, and there's plenty of seating inside--maybe a couple tables outside too, but in the sun and with a view of the road so not my recommendation. read more

We've been going to the Newtown Deli for years now. It is consistently fresh and the food is well prepared. We tried their new Middle Eastern menu the other evening. Everything we had was terrific. Chicken Shwerma was delicious. The fresh-made lentil soup fantastic. Everything was very flavorful yet light on the palate. I finally understand what people like about baba ghanoush! I am now a fan too. The eggplant had a nice roasted flavor. The new owner is very friendly and helpful. The hours that they are open are also accommodating. They're open till nine at night, which allows you to get something quick on your way home. I strongly recommend this place. read more
