Excellent soup & sandwich shop. Although a tiny inside (seats probably 10-12 patrons max) where else could you go & have a menu with over three dozen "Thyme" themed sandwiches on the menu? You could eat here for a month and have a different sandwich every day! Their "special" is the way to go: a half panini & a small soup (4 oz) for only $10.50. I tried their chicken noodle paired with a "Thyme Pleaser". Also recommend getting a scone to go with your meal. They are about the size of a small dinner roll & have a cheese flavoring to them. Will be back to try their fresh tuna & chicken salads (including apple cranberry) in the future. Just note they do have limited hours during the week. read more

There were many soups to choose from and I didn't know if you could possibly ask for a small tasting cup before ordering ; being none of the staff seemed particularly friendly, I just went for it. I ordered the chicken pot pie and chili. The chicken pot pie was excellent, just the right thickness and not very salty. However the chili was awful. When I see chili on the menu, I think it's chili...not chili soup or some overly salty concoction that was inedible. And at $6+for a large, was not happy when I got home. We've purchased from Soup Thyme a couple of times and have tried 4 different soups. All of them tasted very good, but I was disappointed in the Beef and Mushroom soup. Good paninis but a bit pricey we had the thyme bomb and it was almost perfect Panini texture was the best we've ever tasted amongst anywhere but we did wish the roast beef was not cold. That was a bit strange when the middle was cold and the outside hot. The flavors were amazing. I wish there was an au jus dip to oair with this one. I would probably visit this place twice as much if they can price it at $7.95 for half combo and $12.95 for full panini combo. Great spot to grab lunch. They have so many different types of soup, it's amazing. I mean on any given day, you can walk in and find almost any kind of soup you could possibly want. I am glad to have found Soup Thyme. It isn't just soups though that this place offers. They have sandwiches too and lots of healthy options. The people who run it are absolute gems and the place is easy to find in Monroe. It does get crowded (Which is a good thing.) What is so cool about them is that they have so many healthy options. (Not that I am always one to take them!!). But there is much variety here. Lately the Monroe and Trumbull food scene has begun to creep upward and really start getting better. Well this was incredible great find soup Thyme wow. I truly enjoyed my Roasted Butternut Squash....V,GF is was tasty. The Squash was so incredible blended with wonderful fall spices I tasted that sweet hint of cinnamon which made the soup so uniquely delicious. I absolutely love supporting local businesses and always try to but unfortunately won't be coming back here. I mentioned when I placed my order via phone that I was going to speak with a manager about my experience. Upon entering the deli I just decided not to bother but a man from the back heard I was there & instantly attacked me in such an abrasive manner. I truly feel bad for the employees that have to deal with him with that temper. His anger is out of control to the point that it's scary. For the record I wasn't raising my voice @ all (which I wish could say the same for him)... & honestly was in shock by how he was treating me. (The gal that was taking care of me was very pleasant. Call ahead! I waited 10 minutes and had to leave before ordering. They had been open for 25 minutes and it was super busy.

My husband and I did carry out and we ordered the half sandwich and small soup special I ordered the navy bean sausage and Italian combo sandwich and my husband had a chicken cutlet sandwich with French onion soup. The only thing that was amazing was the Italian combo sandwich the soups were ok and the chicken cutlet was super thin and cold They may have just been super busy as it was very crowded We will try again They have small parking lot and do take credit card I will be phoning my order in next time read more

One of my favorite little hole in the wall delis. The sandwiches are always amazing (paninis pressed to perfection). They have soups and handmade sides like pasta salads. Their oatmeal cookies and the cheesy biscuit they have sometimes are to die for. They really uphold quality while also keeping prices fair. Definitely recommend. read more

Our healthcare office ordered lunch during this stressful time of Covid19. We get 30 minutes for lunch and it takes us 12 minutes each way to get there. We are also in Monroe on the other side of town. Our order was missing a co workers soup. We immediately called and they said "we can credit you or come pick it up !" We advised we only had 30 minutes and used it traveling there. And could they deliver it? The young girl said " no, I don't know what to tell you?" We'll give a $3.49 credit if we get there by 4pm. Honestly, some solid offerings in soups with great flavor, consistency and heartiness. Seems to change selections daily but offers some staples such as chicken pot pie (very good). Loved the chicken spinach gorgonzola-not very creamy but so very flavorful! Price point on soup is pretty accurate given all he puts into soup. We were lucky not to have an attitude from owner but clearly, you can see staff is afraid to ask him a question...feefifofum! I'll be back though!! BTW, you do need to be careful with any soups with shredded chicken-our quart had 2 bone slivers and luckily I came across them safely.
