    Bacon Egg Salad Avocado Toast

My favorite cafe in Connecticut! I have been coming here since it opened and the food and service has always been amazing. The food is healthy and filling- very satisfying. The coffee is always perfect as well (the brown sugar latte is my go to). The vibe of the cafe itself is so warm and cozy as well. Definitely try Terra!

This is such a cute small cafe. I came here with my husband for a quick breakfast and coffee. He stuck with a regular hot coffee, and I got an Iced Pistachio Latte with Oat Milk. I liked that my latte tasted healthier than most coffee shops - real pistachios were on top and I didn't taste any crazy sugary syrup. I can't remember what breakfast sandwich my husband got, but he liked it. I ordered the Avolcano Avocado Toast - very good, and compared to other places, it was reasonably priced. Next time we are in the area, I would love to try something else!

    Pataca: Tuna & Avocado toast

First time trying this sweet spot today for lunch. Had the Holy Frijole (bean burger) - delicious! Huge burger topped with avocado, vegan Mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, sprinkle of cabbage, served on their homemade multi grain bun. Really really good! SO wanted to try the much-lauded carrot cake muffins but it was late in the afternoon and they were sold out. I nabbed a thick slice of banana bread for brekkie tomorrow! *Update: Banana bread was da bomb! Moist, light & flavorful. Perfection!! *Update 2: Had the Pataca avocado toast for lunch today! Tuna from the Azores served on an abundant layer of beautifully arranged ripe avocado, topped with mildly spicy peppers and sprouts all resting on house baked multi-grain toast. At first glance it appeared to be open-faced, but to my delight there was a second piece of toast under the bottom layer so I made a sandwich! I love sandwiches, and this one did not disappoint.

Wow!! It is healthy, it is tasty and the lady was so nice. I had an excellent cauliflower soup of the day and avocado toast. I will definitely come back, and I am recommending!!

My friend and I both had burgers, which were delicious -- but what were REALLY awesome were the french fries. Slim, perfectly cooked and salted -- hoo mama. Other reviewers have mentioned that the menu has more of an Asian influence -- this continues to be true, and in fact, when we return I'd like to try some of those more specifically Asian or Asian-inspired dishes. One thing I perceived, though, was that the pickles on the burger were brined in something that tasted almost seafood-y -- I'm allergic so I don't think it was actual fish sauce or something, but something that gave it a slight fishy taste, like when you have seaweed. Anyway, that was the only thing I didn't care for -- but it didn't bother me enough to not want to try again! We loved the ambience and the location was also super convenient with free parking in the back. I'll update my review after my next visit!

As we drove through the village, we saw the restaurant on our left-hand side. It was housed in a historical brick building with a sprawling deck overlooking the Pootatuk River. It was a beautifully sunny day, so I immediately suggested that we dine outside. Unfortunately for us, the part of the balcony that was covered and offering live acoustic music was completely full. That meant that we were seated on the far edge of the patio with no shield from the strong sun or any ability to hear the tunes. In addition to the unideal seating, the food took a very long time to arrive, so I just sat there roasting. The server offered to move us inside, but we stuck it out for the view. I had ordered the Fattoush Salad with Chicken. The Mediterranean bowl included mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, kalamata olives, and fried naan croutons, though I had omitted the red onion that was also supposed to be in the blend. I had asked for the red wine vinaigrette on the side and wound up not using much of it. The salad was fresh and tasty, but the chicken had an odd preparation. It was not grilled (like I would have hoped for a healthy salad topper) and not deep-fried, but was roasted or pan-fried or something, which I had not expected. It had a crispy skin, but remained reasonably tender at least. I also grabbed a few of my partner's fries, which were excellent. After we wrapped up the meal, I stopped inside to cool off and use the facilities, which consisted of a singular, unisex bathroom in the corner of the rustic dining room. There was a bit of a line, and they could certainly have benefitted from additional restrooms. I really did like the antique atmosphere at Foundry Kitchen and Tavern, but I think that the heat just made the experience a bit challenging for me. I would definitely consider returning, but would be more diligent in my seating and food selections.

My daughter and I attended and we were impressed from the moment our car dropped us off in the front. We were greeted at the door by a professional employee. He took us back to a beautiful space with a marble table where we picked up our name tags. Each table had a beautiful flower arrangement in the center that didn't prevent us from seeing each of the family members around our table. The waiters were right on schedule with each course starting with our drinks. The food was delicious and naturally we had anniversary wedding cake for dessert. There was plenty of space for dancing with a dance floor. When we had the opportunity to move around to the other tables to chat we were not crowded in the space. I am highly recommending you consider Tashua Knolls for your special event.

The banquet room and facility in general is extremely dated. Looks like it was last decorated in the early 90's. Weird fake flowers and sconces. The "turkey" carving station had a large, shiny lump of chopped and formed turkey with a very pink hue. Almost like they bought the worst quality meat lump from a deli and called it turkey. Never seen anything like it. Even the ice cream was bad. I liked that there were healthy options, fresh sautéed veggies, etc. however it was completely unremarkable. This morning my partner and I woke up with diarrhea and nausea. We never have these issues except with food poisoning.

Two good-sized Maryland-style cakes, nicely seared and packed with crab (not filler). They came over a bed of fresh arugula and parmesan with a lemony kick and chili aioli that tied it together really well. Juicy chicken, cheddar, bacon, pickles, and the same chili aioli they used on the crab cakes. Really tasty combo, and the fries on the side were crisp. The dining room was empty as we came early, and it looked beautiful. The entire restaurant, to the eye, is absolutely a vibe. There was one server on shift at the time and she was very nice and welcoming. We had very high hopes for the meal to come. We were fairly disappointed. It was during a brunch service. Initially ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Yes, calamari as a brunch app is kind of strange however since it was available I ordered it. I typically order this wherever I go, because I execution-wise, it's not the easiest thing to prepare correctly. This app was tiny, as in the serving size. Additionally the calamari itself was super small as well. No nice meaty rings. No crispy tentacles. Just a greasy mess. The dish purports the dipping sauce to be that of a fra diavolo, it was not. It was more like a marinara with chunky bits of aromatics and perhaps a bit of crushed red pepper. It was also very pricey given everything. Even if it were perfect, still on the pricey side. At the same time my daughter ordered French toast. For $18. We are talking $6 a slice of brioche. Wild business, that. As mains, my wife ordered the avocado toast. Which she actually seemed to enjoy, although the bread was soggy, and the other items on the plate severely lacking. I ordered the "lobster" cake eggs Benedict. If this was lobster, then I'm the Mother Theresa. It was, by my palate overly processed canned crab meat. At best, overly processed lobster meat, but I highly doubt that given the taste, color, and texture. The CRAB cake itself was meh, the accompanying potato hash was okay, and the hollandaise sauce was passable if not good. We ordered drinks as well. My lemon drop martinis were pretty good. My wife was dissatisfied with her margarita, then ordered a dirty martini that was okay. We walked out with a tab of nearly $200. To say it was worth the money would be absurd. I hate to be so blatantly honest with this review, but this experience (food and drink-wise) was not one I would recommend.
