I came here with my kids. First and foremost. I need to talk about the menu. The menu online does not say you have to pay extra if you want it on a croissant or Portuguese roll or whatever. It says that it's a choice. Whatever you order in store, you pay extra for having your sandwich on one of their choices. For example, my kids ordered a bacon, egg and cheese. An extra $2.50 for a croissant when it's part of their choices. I ordered a large caramel iced coffee, which was tolerable. Again choices on the online menu said caramel, vanilla, hazelnut available. What it should say is $1.00 extra for flavors. The service is very slow. My kids and I waited about 30 mins for 3 sandwiches. A tuna mac was also ordered. The total came to $63. A pleasant, low-key spot for breakfast or lunch with a warm atmosphere and competent service. One standout feature is the beautiful chalkboard menu--it's not only charming but also surprisingly extensive. For a small bakery, the range of offerings is impressive: everything from French toast and quiche to wraps, bagels, and an array of coffee drinks. I ordered the gluten-free everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. The lox was fresh and flavorful, but the bagel itself was average--I assumed it would be toasted and wish I'd asked. I also missed the usual red onion slices that typically accompany lox and cream cheese. We took an Alexander sandwich to go, hoping that one's a winner. It was yummy, according to the recipient. My daughter ordered a wrap and said it was "a-ok, not remarkable." Her iced coffee was fine, not great. Overall, this bakery feels welcoming and capable. Nothing knocked our socks off, but it's a pleasant spot to sit with a latte and something to eat. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm in town. read more

I have been back here a few times now. The food is always fresh and delicious and served with a smile. If you eat pork you need to try the sandwich that they call "Christian". It's ham with some slow cooked pork. This particular sandwich is my favorite and is so good it's amazing. Highly recommended. read more

The place was freezing. The woman who waited on us was not pleasant. My tea which was served in a nice mug and pastry were great. My husband's omelet was terrible as were the hash browns. We couldn't wait to leave. Uncomfortable was the word I would use for the experience. read more

A morning spot radiating with kindness and worth visiting! Learning about the menu, their recipes an vision come from their Italian family roots. The food items on the menus are named based around each family member. In serving both breakfast and lunch items, everything is freshly made, not a jar used! Their top sellers are their BEC's and breakfast wraps. For their baked goods, they rotate out different loaves and Anginette cookies. Plus they have some other prime cookies and dessert choices too, including GF blondies. Marianna's uses a local CT coffee roaster and sell a lot of lattes and drip coffee each day. I highly recommend the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso with oat milk that was just added to their menu...I tell you this is 100x better than a Starbucks! You will always feel welcomed stepping into Marianna's Pantry any day you visit. They have a variety of seating options (low tables, high top and outdoor seating. I quite liked my only visit to Marianna's (to-go). I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Seemed like one person was in charge of taking orders at the register as well as serving tables in the restaurant/outside. Definitely seemed a little overwhelmed, but was still super friendly and apologetic for the wait time to take my order. The sandwiches were pretty tasty, and I imagine they would be better having them there. Overall though, cute little spot that I will go back to again. read more

I gave this place another try recently, and it was such a nice experience. The food was delicious and very fresh. It didn't take too long (I was with my hungry 3 y/o so bonus points there). Really enjoyed The Trumbull Sandwich: freshly grilled chicken, homemade pesto(delicious), cherry tomatoes, arugula, and smoked mozzarella on a homemade ciabatta. Chicken was cooked perfectly, the homemade pesto sauce is delicious and the bread was fresh, lightly toasted and warm. Little bit of a crunch on the outside. They have an extensive variety of options on their menu from pastries, breakfast, lunch and salad options. As well as coffee and tea options. Very cool, chill and welcoming atmosphere. Love the bright decor. Awesome place to take the family or just sit and do work. My favorite part of this place (besides the food) is the friendly staff. Just tried this new spot. First impression: WOW! So I got the "hungry girl" which is a classic with a twist. The classic New York style bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. But with cream cheese on it, never had it that way before. That sandwich was delightful! The eggs were cooked precisely as I'd asked for (over medium in my case) and the bagel was so fresh I could have closed my eyes and heard taxis rush by as if on the streets of Manhattan. My mother got a delightful stack of pancakes garnished with just the right amount of Nutella and fresh berries. My wife described her salad as "very perfect" which is high acclaim indeed. They were kind enough to prepare this (more of a lunch item) at 10am! The chicken was cooked fresh and just as quickly eaten, proof positive for great taste. Finally the cappuccino. Hard to mess up, admittedly, but both my wife and I commented on how lovely and thick the foam on top was. Never again. Stood on line at the counter for 5 mins trying to order & was ignored. Some staff looked right at me, never said a word & walked away. Their menu board does not reflect correct pricing. They have a small sign by where you order that says they are working on correcting prices. (Is it that difficult to tape over prices & write the current price?) Cute and clean environment. Yummy and unique sandwiches make this my go to place. They have a little bit of everything for everyone's palate. The food/drinks can take a min to make but that's because everything is so fresh and it isn't some chain - it's a few people working really diligently who have likely been there hours before opening to get things freshly made. If you don't have time to wait for food to be made (as you would at any restaurant or cafe) I would recommend calling it in ahead of time. Saturday morning breakfast out! We haven't done this for a while so it was a nice treat. Marianna's is a nice place with about 10 smaller tables inside and another 5 outside in the deck. They have a small display case with some good looking muffins next to the ordering register, but other good bakery stuff was in a separate case on the opposite side. If I had seen the blueberry bread and pound cakes I probably would have ordered one. The menu is on the wall on the upper right side near the register. I had a coffee (just the simple one in black) and it was good. I also had the an egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll with patty sausage. As egg sandwiches go it was very good. The omelettes and bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches are excellent as are each of the lunch sandwiches made on fantastic Italian bread. Their desserts, especially the pistachio bread and muffins, are outstanding. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. It is such a relaxing and friendly spot where it seems many folks are regulars and so known by name. Such a great neighborhood spot, but also worth the trip from out of town. Found Marianna's Pantry in a Yelp search. I found the menu intriguing for our brunch. Our group of 4 wasn't disappointed. We all had different items from the menu. La Sbronza was a unique combination that was excellent. The Italian sandwich was fresh and flavorful with wonderful bread. The Gina was another unique blend of ingredients that was very enjoyable. And the Hungry Girl (one of the more standard of breakfast sandwiches) was also very good. The bagel was fresh and soft and the bacon crispy (just the way I like it). This is a new restaurant that has a varied menu that will please any taste. They have outdoor and indoor seating. I hope you'll all stop in for breakfast or lunch so they build a solid following. It is very cute and clean and the outside seating is nice. Iced Coffee was good (they had oat milk ). They were out of grilled chicken so they substituted with breaded chicken on the Trumbull sandwich. I think that's what messed up the texture. Also, I wish they'd have put pesto on both sides of the bread...but again maybe the breaded chicken is what made it a bit too dry. I am going to try again.
