We were visiting family and on the hunt for good coffee. As soon as we stumbled upon a coffee shop named Frenchie's with a logo of a French Bulldog in a coffee cup, we knew we had to go check this place out. (We have two Frenchies at home.) The owner was extremely personable and we shared photos of our Frenchies. And the coffee was the best that we had in town! read more

We don't miss a chance to visit Frenchie's Coffee Bar in Stratford Center. I just get regular coffee and my wife gets something different every time. We just started trying out their sandwiches which are excellent! The people are very nice. Sometimes you have to wait to order or get your coffee, but that's just a sign of how busy they are because of how good they are. Just plan for it to take some time. I haven't had much luck ordering off the website yet. I've heard they are updating so maybe that will be a better experience soon. As it is, though, the in person experience is just fine. We've told so many people about them and they all have said the same thing that we do...They love it! If you're local and you have the time, I definitely recommend them! read more

For all the time I've spent in this area, I'm surprised I only recently made it to Frenchie's. I like how it feels homey and playful, namely with the French bulldog paraphernalia. There's even an outdoor area that caters to dog owners. My dirty chai was good. My kids enjoyed the baked goods, though I found them a teeny bit underwhelming. read more

Delicious coffee and food. Creative lattes. Cute little dining area and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend

This place has potential and I have a feeling the food might be good. But let's get down to the facts / this is a "coffee bar" by its own declaration. Therefore, one should expect good coffee. Despite high hopes upon seeing a halfway decent La Marzocco when I walked in, this shop suffers from the same affliction as many seem to endure - NO BARISTA SKILLS. I missed the timing on the shot but it happened so quickly I have a feeling it probably went by with a fatal undercount. The milk was steamed with a careless aggression. So of course it was a thin pitiful foam despite being whole milk. It was dumped into the cup unceremoniously without even a slight effort to control the pour. My wife, who is relentlessly forgiving and nowhere near as demanding of coffee as I am gave a sarcastic "Yum" and stopped at one sip. I have appended a picture of my coffee. It tasted slightly worse than it looks. Alas. read more

If you're looking for a dog-friendly spot with a great vibe, this is it. The ambiance is incredibly comfortable and relaxing, and the service was so kind and welcoming. They brought our food out quickly and were so sweet to our pup! The food and drinks themselves were just okay, but the wonderful hospitality and relaxing environment make it a great spot to hang out. read more

I've been to Frenchie's numerous times and every single time they are out of decaf coffee and/or decaf espresso which is disappointing. I would come more often if that wasn't the case. The egg sandwiches are great though and really big! read more

All I can say is that, "the green iced tea was absolutely refreshing, especially on a hot May morning." Frenchie's Coffee Bar is definitely a cozy spot and the coffee clerk was friendly and prompt with my order. She was a gem and deserves a raise. That's a review... So, stop in today... everyday if you'd like. read more

#15 in my NEW ENGLAND & NY COFFEE SHOP SERIES A solid coffee shop with cute vibes, good drinks, and a simple menu. They have a large community table as well as a few others for those who want to study and do their work. I got an iced vanilla latte and thought it was very good! However, if you do not like sweet drinks, I would not recommend. All their coffee prices are pretty standard. We also ordered some food and to be honest, we waited like 30 minutes for it. It was understandable since there was only one person cooking, making drinks, and taking orders. She did give us some pastries as we waited. Overall, I would go again to study if I was in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. read more

I visited Frenchie's late Sunday morning while in the area. I had seen positive content on IG and also a strong Yelp review rating from prior searches. The coffee bar/cafe is in a small nondescript plaza. Inside was small, cute and very busy. They had live music and were serving breakfast and pastries to a packed house. People were also ordering drinks to go. Service was a bit distracted, although there was a lot going on. I ordered a black iced coffee and they initially handed me a hot coffee. They corrected it right away. My iced coffee was good. Smooth. Rich. Above average. But not great. The food I saw on the tables looked very good. I would definitely try Frenchie's for breakfast. The pastries at the counter looked decent. They had a round croissant, which is a cool offering. Four Stars. I would visit again if I was in the area. read more

When I decided to check out Frenchie's Coffee Bar, I thought the name was based off a person but it's actually centered around French Bulldogs and I fell in love immediately with the interior! Of you're a dog lover like me, you can feel how at home this place feels. In every direction this is a different top statue, painting, decoration, and more, the grass outline was so cool! I decided to get a caramel matcha which was DELICIOUS! I never thought to get caramel with matcha but the combination was seriously so good and i'm already craving it again! I also decided to try their pork belly sandwich and I was seriously blown away. the pork belly was SO tender and tasty and this sandwich is fully loaded! there is plenty of eggs, arugula and it's served on a big croissant! and the prices are great - $8 for this sandwich is seriously a great price and for this area! Frenchie's is highly underrated and needs more attention! And the staff is so nice and friendly, this place is very inviting! read more

The menu was a good size, and the prices were definitely fair. I ordered a large iced chai tea latte. Very simple and it tasted amazing. I'm going to go back and try their specialty drinks! We love Frenchie's! The food menu is limited, but that's not problem because everything is excellent from the croissant french toast to the grilled cheese sandwiches. And the latte menu is UNlimited; there are so many flavors to choose from! We are huge fans of the relaxed and cozy atmosphere, and the baristas remember and greet us when we come in - very welcoming (and impressive memories; we're not there every day or anything!!) There's a nice outdoor seating area too, pups are welcome. read more

From my initial walk in it found frenchies to give cute and comfey vibes. Being a dog-mom i loved the theme. Both baristas were great, professional and friendly. I asked for recommendations on food and he suggested the Cajun chicken sandwich. OMG it was great. However the reason for the 4 stars is the cold brew coffee wasn't great. When I asked for cold foam they just used whip cream. A little dissapointing. read more

Awful experience- girl at the Stratford location serving was extremely rude - appeared angry. Purposely avoided putting out cream for our coffee and proceeded to serve people coming in after us. Finally after tolerating stale and bitter coffee and waiting and waiting for 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. I asked for the manager but didn't feel that the manager was present when she pointed to the kitchen. I hope she enjoyed the sandwiches I ordered!! I was so disgusted after paying 30 dollars for this kind of service!! I had to walk away with my daughter empty handed. Hope she get's herself an education on how to treat customers!!!! read more

Frenchie's in Stratford, CT was such a beautiful experience. As a wife, mother of four, and doula, taking intentional me time to pour back into myself is always needed, and sharing that moment in sisterhood with my sister made it even more special. I truly enjoyed my cinnamon bun iced coffee with oat milk--absolutely amazing--and my steak, egg, and cheese croissant with arugula was so fulfilling. Overall, it was a 10/10/10 experience, and I highly recommend! read more

In town for the weekend for a friend's wedding. Consulted Yelp to see where to get a good cuppa joe and was pointed here. I will say that the coffee is very good. The space is cute and clean (lots of French bulldog stuff everywhere) and the staff were friendly and smiling. BUT... (there's always a "but," right?) I ordered a large mocha and brought it back to my hotel. This [in the attached photo] is the level to which it was filled (no, I had not had a sip when I took the lid off). Like I said , the coffee is really good, but... really? Close to $6 for a cup of coffee; fill the cup, please. read more

NEEDED IT. When I first heard about Frenchie's opening up in Stratford, I was so excited! With several big-name chains or mediocre shops around, I always crave a more intimate experience, and Frenchie's has delivered. The owner, Patrice, and her staff are incredibly welcoming and kind - honestly going above and beyond to make sure my latte was crafted just the way I liked it. The espresso was top notch and they have a great machine to deliver your coffee in whatever way you prefer. Did I mention the pastries? You've GOT to try the cronuts - they've got a variety of cinnamon sugar, caramel glaze [my fave], plain glaze - and really large croissants, quiches, and warm waffles too. Yum! The menu is great, but so is the space. They've created many seating options for whether you need to quickly get some work done, or work remotely from there all day. I particularly love the seating around the fireplace, super cozy and warm, especially with the cold weather coming in soon. You can't miss the adorable frenchie decor and art all throughout - super cute :) All in all - I want to make this a daily destination! I do wish the storefront was on the main road vs. behind the plaza, but it is worth the tiny turn to stop in. Plus, there's plenty of parking available. I stopped by this morning, and I'll probably be back tomorrow! read more

Really cute, clean local coffee shop in Stratford. I had been looking for local coffee shops to work at and found this gem. The music is a little loud so if you have work calls it's probably not the place for that. I ordered cold brew and almond croissant, both were really good. TLDR Nice little coffee bar. Friendly staff good food. For sure a vibe and solid recommendation if you're in the area. Vibe Quiet, lots of sunshine, my type of place. Food Food is good. I had a Waldorf sandwich which I really enjoyed, and the Pork Belly Egg & Cheese is solid. Friends had pastrami sandwich which they said was good. I will say though I like their choice of bread for their sandwiches it's like a croissant bun. Excellent decision. Coffee Is good nothing crazy or artisanal but solid offering. read more

Probably the best americano I've gotten in a long time. The espresso was so smooth and tasteful! Not only good drinks but also fantastic service! Maybe today was an off day at Frenchie's, but after hearing the great buzz around town for a while now my family and I decided to go check it out! First, the staff were great! The two women behind the register probably could have used a third person who just handled the register while they made the coffees. Two people doing both definitely slowed service down, but it was not their fault. They were hustling. Second, the food was...just not good. We ordered a couple of pastries, which were brought out about 5 minutes after we sat down, so I was shocked when we got the plate (after it was set down at a completely different family's table only to be brought to us by the family, not the staff) and they were cold. Even Starbucks toasts their stuff. It was very strange. And let me be clear, the items weren't just not hot, they were literally cold. Like out of a refrigerator. I took one bite of the delicious looking cinnamon sugar croissant and it was rock hard. We had to ask for a to go box to bring them home where we could warm them to enjoy. I also ordered the whipped ricotta toast and actively struggled to cut through any of it with the plastic fork and knife provided. Eventually I gave up and just picked the whole thing up, the plastic knife was bending and close to breaking. This item was also cold. I don't generally think of toast as a cold food, so that was disappointing as well. Overall, a cute spot, good coffee, but the food is lacking. It seems like more attention is paid to making things look cool for instagram. A bummer. read more
