We don't miss a chance to visit Frenchie's Coffee Bar in Stratford Center. I just get regular coffee and my wife gets something different every time. We just started trying out their sandwiches which are excellent! The people are very nice. Sometimes you have to wait to order or get your coffee, but that's just a sign of how busy they are because of how good they are. Just plan for it to take some time. I haven't had much luck ordering off the website yet. I've heard they are updating so maybe that will be a better experience soon. As it is, though, the in person experience is just fine. For all the time I've spent in this area, I'm surprised I only recently made it to Frenchie's. I like how it feels homey and playful, namely with the French bulldog paraphernalia. This place has potential and I have a feeling the food might be good. But let's get down to the facts / this is a "coffee bar" by its own declaration. Therefore, one should expect good coffee. Despite high hopes upon seeing a halfway decent La Marzocco when I walked in, this shop suffers from the same affliction as many seem to endure - NO BARISTA SKILLS. I missed the timing on the shot but it happened so quickly I have a feeling it probably went by with a fatal undercount. The milk was steamed with a careless aggression. So of course it was a thin pitiful foam despite being whole milk. It was dumped into the cup unceremoniously without even a slight effort to control the pour. My wife, who is relentlessly forgiving and nowhere near as demanding of coffee as I am gave a sarcastic "Yum" and stopped at one sip. I have appended a picture of my coffee. They have a large community table as well as a few others for those who want to study and do their work. I got an iced vanilla latte and thought it was very good! However, if you do not like sweet drinks, I would not recommend. All their coffee prices are pretty standard. We also ordered some food and to be honest, we waited like 30 minutes for it. It was understandable since there was only one person cooking, making drinks, and taking orders. She did give us some pastries as we waited. Awful experience- girl at the Stratford location serving was extremely rude - appeared angry. Purposely avoided putting out cream for our coffee and proceeded to serve people coming in after us. Finally after tolerating stale and bitter coffee and waiting and waiting for 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. I asked for the manager but didn't feel that the manager was present when she pointed to the kitchen. I hope she enjoyed the sandwiches I ordered!! When I decided to check out Frenchie's Coffee Bar, I thought the name was based off a person but it's actually centered around French Bulldogs and I fell in love immediately with the interior! Of you're a dog lover like me, you can feel how at home this place feels. In every direction this is a different top statue, painting, decoration, and more, the grass outline was so cool! I decided to get a caramel matcha which was DELICIOUS! I never thought to get caramel with matcha but the combination was seriously so good and i'm already craving it again! I also decided to try their pork belly sandwich and I was seriously blown away. the pork belly was SO tender and tasty and this sandwich is fully loaded! there is plenty of eggs, arugula and it's served on a big croissant! and the prices are great - $8 for this sandwich is seriously a great price and for this area! I visited Frenchie's late Sunday morning while in the area. I had seen positive content on IG and also a strong Yelp review rating from prior searches. The coffee bar/cafe is in a small nondescript plaza. Inside was small, cute and very busy. They had live music and were serving breakfast and pastries to a packed house. People were also ordering drinks to go. Service was a bit distracted, although there was a lot going on. I ordered a black iced coffee and they initially handed me a hot coffee. They corrected it right away. My iced coffee was good. Smooth. Rich. Above average. But not great. The food I saw on the tables looked very good. I would definitely try Frenchie's for breakfast. The pastries at the counter looked decent. They had a round croissant, which is a cool offering. Four Stars. I would visit again if I was in the area. read more

We love Frenchie's! The food menu is limited, but that's not problem because everything is excellent from the croissant french toast to the grilled cheese sandwiches. And the latte menu is UNlimited; there are so many flavors to choose from! Had a wonderful first experience at frenchies this morning! I went in and tried their strawberry matcha and it was delicious! The shop blends together the love for coffee and dogs and has a good amount of seating! The shop is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. NEEDED IT. When I first heard about Frenchie's opening up in Stratford, I was so excited! With several big-name chains or mediocre shops around, I always crave a more intimate experience, and Frenchie's has delivered. The owner, Patrice, and her staff are incredibly welcoming and kind - honestly going above and beyond to make sure my latte was crafted just the way I liked it. The espresso was top notch and they have a great machine to deliver your coffee in whatever way you prefer. Did I mention the pastries? You've GOT to try the cronuts - they've got a variety of cinnamon sugar, caramel glaze [my fave], plain glaze - and really large croissants, quiches, and warm waffles too. Yum! The menu is great, but so is the space. They've created many seating options for whether you need to quickly get some work done, or work remotely from there all day. I particularly love the seating around the fireplace, super cozy and warm, especially with the cold weather coming in soon. You can't miss the adorable frenchie decor and art all throughout - super cute :) All in all - I want to make this a daily destination! I do wish the storefront was on the main road vs. behind the plaza, but it is worth the tiny turn to stop in. Plus, there's plenty of parking available. Maybe today was an off day at Frenchie's, but after hearing the great buzz around town for a while now my family and I decided to go check it out! First, the staff were great! The two women behind the register probably could have used a third person who just handled the register while they made the coffees. Two people doing both definitely slowed service down, but it was not their fault. They were hustling. Second, the food was...just not good. We ordered a couple of pastries, which were brought out about 5 minutes after we sat down, so I was shocked when we got the plate (after it was set down at a completely different family's table only to be brought to us by the family, not the staff) and they were cold. Even Starbucks toasts their stuff. It was very strange. And let me be clear, the items weren't just not hot, they were literally cold. Like out of a refrigerator. I took one bite of the delicious looking cinnamon sugar croissant and it was rock hard. We had to ask for a to go box to bring them home where we could warm them to enjoy. I also ordered the whipped ricotta toast and actively struggled to cut through any of it with the plastic fork and knife provided. Eventually I gave up and just picked the whole thing up, the plastic knife was bending and close to breaking. This item was also cold. I don't generally think of toast as a cold food, so that was disappointing as well. Overall, a cute spot, good coffee, but the food is lacking. It seems like more attention is paid to making things look cool for instagram. A bummer. read more
