So happy there's a new restaurant close by. The restaurant is beautiful! The decor and environment are so calming. I love near the bathrooms, there's hanging plants from the ceiling! The restaurant and restrooms were super clean. The staff were amazing! They were so kind and attentive. We did the happy hour menu - we ordered the fried calamari, which I do not like but wanted to try, and it was delicious! Along with the fuego sauce. It was crispy and not chewy at all. Also ordered the beef sliders on brioche buns. They were tasy as well! We also got the pork belly - tostones, red onion, tomato, cilantro, and lime juice . I personally did not enjoy this, but my bestie's did. We had such a great time and will definitely be back for a nice dinner. read more

What a hidden gem!! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the food delicious!! We got there for happy hour and had several small plates. There are many gluten free options so I was in heaven!! I haven't had a fried Calamari in years because there were no gluten free options. The calamari was perfectly done just the right amount of seasoning and the batter was light and crispy! Empanadas were yummy and the gluten-free chocolate lava cake was decadent and gooey. We were so excited to dig into everything, we forgot Pictures! (Except for the Lava Cake!) This place is so well appointed! Sophisticated hip see pics! The design is stunning. The have a great small event room too. We came for happy hour. The bar is big, friendly and makes a perfect margarita. The chips and guacamole included freshly made tortilla, plantains and yucca chips. The guac and salsa were excellent. We will be back! Often. My sister and I have been wanting to go to Fuego for a while especially since it is right around the corner from her place. We decided give it a try and bring our mom along since she came up from nyc for the weekend for my sister's bday. To begin the restaurant is beautiful. The decor is very aesthetically pleasing. The relaxed ambience was perfect for us to decompress. We started off with calamaris , a mojito mocktail , rose , and a cocktail. We all loved the drinks. The calamaris were ok they didn't taste the most authentic to me. I was looking forward to the whole experience tentacles and all but as you can tell by the image, it was only rings. My mom and sister really liked it and the sauce was actually pretty good. my gnocchi was too overcooked and came out really mushy I was not a fan however, the truffled cream sauce was delicious and I loved the mushrooms. My sister enjoyed her tostones. She said the ceviche could have used some lemon. The hanger steak was amazing, this was my mom's meal but my sister and I of course had a bite. This will 100% the meal I get the next time I go there and I am convinced this might be their specialty. As for the dessert I just never thought passionfruit and cheesecake go together because passion fruit is extremely sour, but of course this is my preference. My mom and sister ended up taking the passionfruit top off (can be seen in photo) and they enjoyed the cheesecake itself. I personally would've opted for the tres leche, our server also said that's their specialty. Lastly, the service was impeccable! Every single person there was kind and welcoming. We ate at Fuego Wine Bar for the very first time on Friday and the food, ambiance and service was phenomenal. We ordered: Patatas Bravas - perfectly seasoned potatoes with just the right amount a delicious spicy sauce. The heat of the sauce is just right and not overpowering. Beef Empanadas - again perfectly seasoned and light and airy... not heavy or greasy. Crispy Pork Belly - absolutely delicious with clean fresh ingredients. Hanger Steak - I ordered mine medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. There was just the right char on the outside while the inside was exactly as I requested. This is quite possibly the best steak that I have ever had at a restaurant.... Over all steakhouses! The rice and beans are divine, not spicy and perfectly seasoned. I have had Fuego Wine Bar in my bookmarks for a while and my daughter and I decided to check them out. Fuego Wine Bar is new to the Derby area and serves Latin food. The restaurant is only a two minute drive from my house so we decided to walk there. We greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant. The restaurant had a romantic, intimate, and welcoming atmosphere. We were told we can sit wherever we wanted. My daughter and I ordered Pernil Empanadas, Tacos De Alambre, Arepa Al Fuego, and Tres Leches Cake. The Pernil Empanadas were delicious. The meat was tender and bursting with flavor and the Empanadas were fried just right. Crispy on the outside and delectable in the inside. The Tacos Alambre were a hit. The Braised Pork on the Taco was very flavorful and you could tell somebody put their foot or maybe two feet into that pot while cooking it. The bursting flavor of Jalapeños, Cilantro, Oxaaca Cheese, and Tomatillo Sauce brought it all together. The Arepa Al Fuego was okay. When I think of Arepas, I'm thinking it's stuffed with some sort of meat and other ingredients. The Arepa was like a hamburger patty with chicken. It was kind of a twist with the ingredients on top the Shredded Chicken Arepa. I could definitely appreciate the innovative. The Pickled Onions and the Avocado were very fresh and delicious on top of the Arepa. The Tres Leches was definitely the show stopper with the pour of the Condensed Milk and Cream onto the cake. I was very excited because I've never had Tres Leches Cake before and I'm not a sweets person. The cake was good and the fruits were so fresh. The cake was rich and decadent. The customer was outstanding. Are waiter was very attentive, pleasant, and the waiter provided an upscale experience. All in all, the service is excellent and the food takes you on a ride through Latin culture. I will definitely be back to taste the Salmon Ala Plancha. read more

I made a reservation for Valentine's Day, was promptly seated in the bar area. The ambience was rustic and comfortable. We ordered drinks, appetizer and one of the special entrees. So far perfect. An hour later, we received our shared appetizer: grilled octopus. It was perfectly seasoned and deliciously prepared. Perfect. and that was it. Two and a half hours later, we asked about our entree. We were told the waiter had been sent to help out in the kitchen. We asked for a shared dessert and the check. It was too late for a heavy meal. They apologized and told us we did not have to pay. I still tipped although we never received our dinner. The problem is, it might be understaffed to the point it affects the service, especially on such a romantic date night. Absolutely great food. Excellent customer service at first but unacceptable by the end of the night. Our check included a 'delivery fee'. It was exactly 20% of the bill. We assumed this was the 20% tip which was automatically included in the bill like most places do nowadays. And since we had received such great service and planned to leave 20% tip anyway, we simply signed the check and handed it to the server. We stayed a while longer to listen and dance to the music played by the DJ. Later we went to the bar to order some drinks. This is where we received the cold shoulder and were completely ignored. People on either side from us were served their drinks and we were getting ignored. Even our server who by now was behind the bar serving drinks ignored us when he looked over at us. My wife called the next day and asked about the delivery fee. We wanted to make sure that our server received the tip. Manager confirmed that the delivery fee was in fact the tip. He further explained that later at closing after several servers complained patrons did not leave a tip they discovered the error. The servers entered the wrong code which caused the automatic tip to be reflected as the delivery fee leading to the servers believing patrons like us did not tip them. Due to their own error in ringing up patron's bills which caused servers to believe they were not being tipped, we were deliberately ignored and given no service at the bar. This is unacceptable. Needless to say, we don't give people a second chance to treat us as poorly as we were treated especially when it was their own error which caused the misunderstanding. It's a shame too because the food was delicious and the service was excellent at first. We did plan on returning. Not at all now. read more

Hidden gem among the construction in Derby. Chef Fabian is fabulous and food is amazing. The fajitas are great. The cerviche is fresh and cool. The guacamole is made daily and is so good. Phenominal evening out. We are local and live in Derby and wanted to try this new place out. The food and drinks are on par with New Haven or Fairfield restaurants, if not better. Very cool ambiance. Sat at the bar for food and drinks and it was warm and cozy and intimate. Juanan and team took care of us and mixed some amazing drinks. Empanadas and arepas hand made on site and tasted very fresh.
