Have been here before a few times even though it's a pretty far drive for us! And I'm back to change my review. My sister wanted to try their peanut butter jelly wings since I absolutely love them. We arrived and were told by our waitress that she was going to clean a table off for us, my sister went to sit at the table after our waitress cleaned the table, a whole different waitress/bartender approached my sister and was very stand offish, I believe the first thing out of her mouth was what's up? My sister was very confused and talked to her about how the other waitress said we could sit at the table, this waitress/ bartender once again was very rude, told us that we could not sit there due to us being 2 people, and it was going to be busy on a Saturday night, my sister was explaining to her what was told to us, and she told my sister that she's not going to go back and forth with us over sitting at the table. I've attached some pictures of the place around 9:30/10 at night. Honestly this waitress/bartender's attitude really makes me not want to come back, the last couple times the staff had been nothing but friendly, however now this place has a bad taste in my mouth, which is very disappointing since again I love their peanut butter jelly wings, which were great and our waitress was great.
I ordered the Parmesan Butter Bacon Garlic Burger, which was good overall, but not exactly what I expected. I thought the parmesan butter bacon garlic sauce would be more of a sauce, but it ended up being more of a spread. Still a solid burger, just different than what I had in mind. For wings, I got the peanut butter and jelly wings, which were served with fluff, and they were so good and so unique. Definitely something I've never had before and absolutely worth trying. My boyfriend ordered the blue cheesy bacon wings, which were good, although they seemed to have no bacon. He also tried the classic hot wings, which were solid as well. I really enjoyed the laid-back vibe here and would definitely come back to try more of their crazy wing flavors -- there are just so many to choose from.
The Dew Drop Inn seriously has so many options of wing flavors! That said, the staff isn't always the friendliest. I've been a few times and both times the guy at the door was pretty standoffish. The space is 100% a bar and very tight, but the wings are worth it. Probably sticking to takeout in the future, but the flavors are still something to try for yourself.
I came here with some friends and my cousin. My friends said they were going to Dew Drop Inn and invited my cousin and I to come. Also, I wanted to give them another try because I came here years ago, and the wings were good. Their wings start at twelve dollars for six wings, so it's about two dollars a wing. Also, you can't mix the flavors when ordering the wings. You have to order a set of wings for each flavor, which can be expensive. I ordered the Sweet Chili Asian wings, and my other friends ordered from the not-so-basic wing menu, which has outrageous wing flavors. I didn't try their wings, but they said they enjoyed them. I stick with basic wings because I need to know how they taste before proceeding. Since I haven't been there in years, I kept it simple. The wings I ordered were okay, but missing flavor and seasoning. I have noticed places that make wings miss the mark with seasoning. The establishments just fry the wings and put sauce on them. The sauce was delicious, but if the flavor and seasoning are missing, then for me, it misses the mark. The customer service was great, and the waitress was very attentive, outgoing, and friendly
Unpopular opinion, not the best wings. We tried a bunch of different ones, personally I felt the actual wings were a little dry. The sauces are definitely what makes this place a big deal. As much as I love heat I didn't care for the spiciest sauce, it's a habanero base but it just doesn't have any flavor or maybe vinegar. Like burn your mouth heat but lacked an actual flavor, was more like a salsa. Peanut butter and jelly wings were my favorite, which I never would've thought I would like.

The parking situation wasn't great, but we found a small lot nearby, so it worked out perfectly. We were greeted right away and sat at the bar. I was surprised there was just a menu for the wings just two full pages--everything sounded so good that choosing was the hardest part. We ended up ordering three different flavors (six wings each). Caramel Soy (my pick): I knew this was going to hit, and it absolutely did. If you've ever had Korean fried chicken with a soy glaze, it had a very similar flavor profile:savory, slightly sweet, super addictive. The best part? It came with a fluffy dipping sauce. So fun. The wings were crispy and tender, easily my favorite of the night. Hot Garlic Butter (my girlfriend's pick): This one leaned more toward a classic buffalo-style sauce. Delicious, with chunks of garlic throughout. Not the most adventurous flavor, but exactly what we needed for a little spice. These wings were more heavily coated, so the skin wasn't quite as crispy, but the flavor held up. Solid 8-9/10. Cilantro Lime Tahini (our mutual pick): A bit out there for wings. I liked the flavor, but it felt better suited for a salad than chicken. Definitely our least favorite, but still not bad. 6.5/10. Overall, we'll be back--I want to try all the flavors!
Great service, excellent mango cocktail! The wings were great as well! Flavorful, crunchy and tangy! The green beans were accompanied by a nice wasabi dip which paired very well. The espresso martini was also quite delicious. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the neighborhood!
This is the place to check out. The variety of wings is absolutely amazing, but the wings themselves are so delicious. The staff here is amazing with all of their suggestions, whether it is wings or drinks to go along with it. Can't wait to come back from my next visit to this place as it is amazing
Came here since we were in the area kind of. Also, because I've had some co-workers mention this place. The parking area is very limited and not for trucks. Small compact cars would fit perfectly. But, having a pickup truck I stuck out of it a bit. Walked in with my husband and went to the bar. Got a menu and was a bit overwhelmed with it. It had so many different types of wing flavors you can choose from. Too many that I don't know what to get. We asked the lady behind the bar to help us decide. And two out of the three flavors were decent. I can't remember what the third flavor was. I remember it had jalapeños and I think nacho cheese. Not really my cup of tea. The wings were good. Not the best. But, just good. I guess if you like a wide variety of wings from sweet to savory. This is your place. Because they did have dessert wings. Not sure if I'd like chocolate on my wings. But, like I said they were good not bad. Would I go again. Probably not just because it is an hour and some change drive from home.
We stopped in last night. This bar is known for the best wings in Connecticut. They have over 110 wing flavors. We went with a not so basic Honey Teriyaki and waffle fries. Our food was good, but nothing extraordinary. The waitresses were sweet and checked in often. Since it was a Tuesday night around 9pm it was pretty quiet. We got our food promptly. They were playing the world series games on several tvs most of the patrons were watching it. They check ID as soon as you walk in. They are very strict about it. I saw them turn away young students because of expired IDs. This is our second time stopping when in the area. Last time it was on a Saturday night and it was insanely busy. We enjoyed our quiet experience much more.
Hands down the best wings I've ever had. They were nice and meaty so it was filling. I brought my daughter and I felt it was a comfortable family atmosphere as other people brought their kids as well. The service was very friendly! Will definitely go back and highly recommended.
I don't get the hype. We drove about an hour out to this spot after hearing great things about their wings and large selection. Sliders really fell off over the last few years so I've been looking for a new spot. The parking lot is tiny. The place is definitely a dive. Don't mind these things, just letting you know what to expect. Get there by 3 or you won't find parking or a seat! I appreciate their large selection of draft beer with plenty of local breweries on tap. Their food menu is huge considering they're known for their wings. So even if you want something ride there's plenty to choose from. We had pretzel bites to start and the cheese was so good I actually took the leftovers home! On to the wings: Hot buffalo was under sauced and seemed more like mild. Mango Teriyaki BBQ - where's the mango? They were ok. Cajun Garlic Butter was by far the best. Great flavor. A little heat but still nice and garlicky. The wings were average size and not quite as crispy as I'd like but still not a bad wing overall. I guess I expected a lot more and maybe that's why I was disappointed. Prices aren't exactly cheap either! For me, Groggy Frog destroys this place when it comes to wings and has the same dive bar atmosphere. It's also 30 min closer for me. I wouldn't return here, even if I was in the area #disappointed
There's a very popular Facebook group that I below to that I won't mention for fear of getting this review taken down... But in that group Dew Drop Inn FREQUENTLY comes up as the place in Connecticut with the best wings. So my wife and I made the hour drive from Newington to Derby to see what all the hype was about! Atmosphere/Appearance: Let me tell you. It's a windy road to get here. Lol. But set right at a very non-traditional intersection of North Avenue & Roosevelt Drive is this gem. The outside doesn't look like much at all and there's maybe 6 parking spots to the left of the restaurant then there's another business across the street that MAY allow you to park there. At your own risk of course. Once on the inside the spot looks super modern and energetic. The back wall is all brick, the walls are painted with solid colors and there's a lil' easter egg to the right of the front entrance of The Incredible Hulk busting through the wall holding a plate of wings. Lol. Service: We sat right at the bar and the owner Jason was there so he was serving us directly. He was funny, accommodating and just was a genuine good time. Hiba, Meghan and Rachel were also very accommodating. Food: So while here I tried 7 different flavors of the 126 that are offered. I'll break them down one by one... Pink Peppercorn Lemon Thyme: They came out of the kitchen SO HOT. Lol, so be careful not to burn your mouth. They were AMAZING. Deliciously salty from the Himalayan sea salt, lemony and rounded out with some good Earthy flavors. Pink Peppercorn Lemon Curd: This is basically everything I described above, but with a delicious sauce on top. The sauce was a little honey-strawberry-lemon sweetness that complemented the wing excellently. Cilantro Lime Tahini: The cilantro flavor was an excellent base, but this may sound strange... but it almost tasted like refried beans. There was also a good cheesy flavor involved as well. It was so different and executed very well. Not a spicy wing for those that can't handle it. Cajun Garlic Butter Bacon: These were easily the tastiest "looking" wings due to all of the bacon pieces on top and they smelled simply incredible. Again, temperature hot, but these tasted like they were cooked IN a garlic oil. My goodness. The bacon added a meaty, hearty, salty, bacon-y flavor that just went well with the garlic and Cajun seasoning. Truffalo: This one is easy. Truffle and Buffalo mixed together. Excellent. I'm truffle-biased so of course I'd love these, but I could've used more truffle if I'm being honest. Strawberry Habanero: These were refreshing.. The strawberry flavor was very prevalent and it reminded me of a sweet & sour from a Chinese restaurant, buy elevated. I didn't get a lot of heat from these despite the name, but I loved it. Ghostly Habanero: While I didn't find the heat in the last flavor, it was all here. This was the hottest flavor on the menu at the time and rightfully so. These wings were gritty, sweet from the peppers and the heat was INSTANT. The habanero gave that initial jumpstart of heat, but the ghost pepper is the one that ramps up over time. It took about 3 minutes for the heat to FULLY kick in, but it definitely did. I teared up, I was sweating and this is not a wing I could eat a whole bunch of. Delicious though! Peanut Butter & Jelly: These were the hottest temperature wings we've had. Lol. Peanut butter is so incredibly dense so it just held all of that heat in. These were served with fluff as a dipping sauce. They were savory and sweet. Done very well. Value: Chicken wings are already expensive on their own, so adding this level of skillset to cook them, the materials and all brings an order of 6 to $10.99 for "Basic Flavors". "Not So Basic" is 6 for $11.75 and "Basically Ridiculous" as well as "Dessert" wings are 6 for $11.99. You can of course order them in bigger denominations, but there are 100% worth it. In conclusion, sadly, I haven't been back here since June of 2022, but I want to come back SO BAD. It's just literally an hour away from where I live. Lol. I will be back Jason! I'm surprised I didn't hear the hype about this place until last week! My brother convinced our group to take the 45 minute drive to try it out, and thankfully the 7 of us snagged a table instantly. As first time visitors, the flavor selection for the wings was pretty overwhelming - we asked for recommendations. I can't remember what everyone got, but I ordered the 10 piece Maple Buffalo. The wings were crispy and the flavor was great - the spice wasn't overwhelming and the maple was subtle. If the drive wasn't far, I'd be here more often! read more

Absolutely loved this perfect little dive from the moment we walked in. The two bartenders were friendly, welcoming, they just gave off positive energy and good vibes. I had a Bloody Mary which was delicious and I'm extremely picky with my drinks. My boyfriend had a tequila and pineapple. The menu is overwhelming and I literally wanted to try so many different things. We ordered bbq teriyaki wings, sweet chili Asian wings and honey mustard. We also had the drunken waffle fries. The food came out quickly and was delicious. My one complaint would be that I wanted them slightly more well done. I cannot wait to go back to try more of their wing variations and I also want to have the pumpkin cheesecake - yum! read more

These are 1 of the top 2 best wings you can get in the state of Connecticut. Whether it's the first or second can be debated. Dew Drop is located in an unassuming, damn-near isolated bar in Derby, CT. From the outside, it looks like a place where bikers would congregate and on the inside it kind of looks like it too, but what you can't see from an initial visual inspection is that they are slinging serious magic in that kitchen. If that's not your vibe, do not be deterred, I promise it's worth it. If you're like my friends and I who have to go out of our way to get here, you're probably here for the wings. Get the wings. They're not cheap and the price increases based on the category of sauce you get. I recommend getting at least two flavors. Speaking of flavors, there are a lot, like way more than you will ever have a chance to try. Many of them are traditional styles and remixed or combination variations of others. My favorite is the honey buffalo. I haven't deviated too far from the wings on the menu, but everything I've had is genuinely delicious. There's solid rotating beer rotation and the staff is always super friendly and accommodating. read more

I love the honey garlic butter wings, they are my favorites, and I tried the other wing flavors and they are all delicious, crunchy and strawberries, whenever I have the opportunity to come to Derby I make my stop here. Took my wife to lunch here. The wings (as always) were fantastic. The sweet potatoes fries are always great as well. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great beer selection on tap to boot. Would recommend! read more

By far one of the best wing spots I've dined it. Don't let the appearance and bar atmosphere hold you back. Bourbon bacon Bbq, Parmesan garlic butter bacon (bacon overload) and lemon pepper honey wings are amazing!! I will definitely come back and be more adventurous with the dessert flavored wings. For the first time I couldn't get parking just out front, but discovered there's a public lot just up the road with a short walking distance. I came to show my man (from NY) one of the best wings spots CT has to offer. Service was quick and friendly. After I ordered a spicy cucumber basil margarita that had a very weak cucumber basil taste and wasn't so spicy, I opted out of their mixed drinks and stuck with beer for the rest of the night. Maybe it should have been muddled better or even garnished with a basil leaf, maybe the taste wouldn't have been so weak. It was disappointing. The hot ginger molasses wings wasn't hot and didn't taste like ginger. The Cajun butter garlic bacon was super delicious but I couldn't taste the Cajun spice. We also tried jalapeño cream cheese. The loaded waffles fries were extra crispy and tasted great. We will definitely come back again and try some more flavors, hopefully something with a hotter spice level. I'm not sure if I'll give the mixed drinks another shot, because their beers are so much better quality. read more
If you like wings and you're an adventurous foodie, the Dew Drop Inn is your place! I've been here a couple times while visiting the area, and they have an incredible amount of wing flavors ranging from basic to ridiculous and even dessert wings - yes, you read that right! Their Peanut Butter & Jelly wings are incredible! They're covered in peanut butter and jelly and come with Fluff for dipping. It sounds gross, but trust me, just try it. If you're less adventurous with your wing flavors, they have plenty of more normal flavors, like Nashville Hot, which are delicious and packed some good heat. My boyfriend also wanted to try the Cheesy Garlic Bread wings, so we did, and while they were a little too much for me in terms of the amount of cheese they were covered in - I can still see why someone would order them. The Dew Drop Inn also has a great cocktail list and plenty of draft craft beer options, including local and regional offerings. The staff is also incredibly friendly and attentive. This place has the BEST wings I have ever had in CT. They offer a variety of flavors and the wings were just so fresh and delicious I cannot recommend this place enough. Everyone who worked there was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience pleasant as well. read more

These chicken wings are from The Dew Drop inn in Derby Connecticut. In the years I've lived here I've been. Told this is one of Connecticut's best wings. Cajun dry rub wings. 6 for 11.50. They said ten minutes and then came out in 6 minutes. Polite and efficient ladies, easy on the eyes. Speaking of the wing alone , not the seasonings. That may have been the most perfectly cooked wing I've ever had. Delivered hot and fully cooked , the skin was so crispy and the wing was juicy. Perfectly executed. Cajun dry rub. I hoped for heat on those Cajun wings and they delivered. But WHOA !! Enough salt to pop my bp monitor !! Luckily for me they became more palpable once I dunked them into the blue cheese dressing. Holy crap dude, back off on the salt and you have A+ wing. I'll go back and try a different one and the burger . That burger looked amazing. read more

Not boneless wings, per se, but they will put any of the sauces on chicken tenders.

Our hottest wing is the suicide wing. It can only be ordered and consumed inside the restaurant. It is brutal and will make you very uncomfortable.
