This is always a quick and easy stop in. I love the gyro and the O burger. They really haven't changed in many years. The drinks have transitioned to Pepsi products which offers a nice upgrade. Four stars because it was a decent fast food ish type of place that I will keep in mind for the future. I have been driving by and curious and finally stopped in. I got the hot dog special. The hot dogs had a good snap. I wasn't a fan of the sour kraut but if you like it tangy then you might. I was intrigued by the fried dough and ordered it and ended up taking my hotdogs home and just enjoying the freshly made hot fried dough. The interior was clean and mostly empty. They have a drive through as well. Where else can you get a fried dough or hot waffle through a drive through? Had dinner here on a Sunday evening. Kind of a fast food place with a good amount of inside seating or to go. The menu is quite large with a good variety of items. Today, I stopped by Goodies for breakfast for dinner. It was about 7:30 ish when I ordered and sat down. It was empty so the food came pretty quickly. I ordered to go although I did sit inside the restaurant itself. I noticed that they took out my favorite corner spot near the window which to me is sad since I came here so many times just to sit there. I got the bacon egg and cheese with a small fry. As always, I really like their sandwich. The roll is soft and fresh. Bacon cooked well, not chewy/rubbery or overly hard. Fries were nice and hot. My partner got the grilled cheese. 3 of them to be exact. Buttered to perfection, has its own unique flavor & great quality for the price. One grilled cheese is about $5. Has just the right amount of cheese. The environment is well lit and has lots of things on the wall that makes it very special. I love the car/plates/road signs. The gyro here is very good and nicely prepared. Some places are stingy with the meat and tzatziki sauce, but that is not the case here. The few times I've ordered from Goodies, the gyros were delicious. It is in a good location for pickup or delivery from UNH and the rest of West Haven. My wife and I visited Goodies today for the first time. Both of us enjoyed the crinkle fries, she enjoyed the chili dog which was a bit spicey. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll and a side order of hashbrowns through the drive thru. After waiting almost 10 minutes at the window my order arrived. First the egg sandwich was inedible. Prior to this I would have thought how bad can a bacon, egg and cheese be? This was so bad I managed to take two bites before giving up. The roll was not a hard roll as described. It was some white/yellowish colored bread that vaguely resembled a hamburger bun. It was not only odd looking it tasted strange. It had a very weird texture. The egg was very over cooked and tasted and smelled like syrup. This sandwich was so bad it was only deserving of the trash. The hashbrowns were also terrible and completely drenched and covered in grease/oil. There is no way any sane person would/could eat it. To sum it up this place is so bad I'm not sure how they are in business. Although one may think it's equally impressive that they can get a simple breakfast sandwich so wrong. I definitely will not be returning for breakfast, lunch or dinner. read more

Not impressed. I was in area for work, saw this place and figured it must be like a Five Guys, or Augie and Rays based on the sign that read "Hot dogs, burger, fried seafood". It was like them to an extent. First off, they have a fast food set up. Your experience starts off very McDonalds like where you drive up to a menu with a speaker, place your order then pull up. This is where I get torn; they lose a star here because unlike McDonalds where they are usually handing you the food by the time you get to second window I literally parked my car in the window for 10 minutes waiting (and yes I was only one there). I'm torn because at the same time this means the food was being made to order and fresh..... Concept wise, great idea. Execution wise, bad idea. Even though the food was fresh and whatnot I wasn't impressed. Please see my pictures, but the burger albeit the meat was decent (better than fast food chain) the burger itself was flat which was surprising since the burger I got was a double, bread was bleh, and overall taste was just meh. (Had the southern burger) I also got a hotdog with ketchup, mustard, and relish.... It was no different than any hotdog I would have made at home. Not like a Nathan's, or any "high end" hot dog... I actually got bored by the hotdog halfway through. Overall probably won't be back for a while, rather Augies or Five guys, service was slow (maybe for good reasons but non the less), and food was certainly nothing special. read more

So apparently if you get there at 8:30 they are closed, even though their hours are till 9:00. Not to mention the couple of times I got there around 8:30 they were rude about not wanting to serve. Displaced Midwesterners they have Kronos Gyros. And they're carved off the spit like back in the Midwest. OMG I'm so happy I found this place. It was a great reminder of home.
