The fried shrimp and scallops were the best I've ever had, and I've eaten scallops live off a Peconic beach (before the red tide). I've also had sweet red shrimp caught the same day in Florida ,and always buy mine fresh from Nordic Seafood, and these are as masterly. Someone stopped by our table at least every 10 minutes to ask how we were doing. On a life scale of perfection, this place hits all the marks. read more

I have always driven by this restaurant and wanted to try it. Glad we stopped this weekend for lunch. This place has been around forever. Honestly the decor is no frills but it is the type of place where the locals all stop in. The menu is extensive and you can get a sandwich, salad, soup or entree and it is all really good. We started with the New England Chowder and it was really good. Very flavorful!! For my meal I had the pot roast meal and it was really good. My girlfriend had the chicken parmigiana with pasta and she really enjoyed it. I will definitely be back to try some of the sandwiches on the menu. We really enjoyed this place. By the way, the waitress was really good. She took our order and ensured we were well taken cared of. read more

We stayed in Milford for a few days recently and decided to try Lasse's for take out seafood. We are so happy we did! The food was ready when we arrived even though it hadn't yet been 15 minutes. Everyone was nice, friendly, and helpful. We ordered two seafood platters. The amount of food was so great that we got five meals from the two platters between two people! The scallops were very large, sweet, and not at all chewy! Their breading isn't heavy, nor glue like. It's light, crispy and delicious! Plenty of fries! Plenty of shrimp and the tail ends were already removed! The whole belly clams were amazing!! The side salads were delicious! I think the cocktail sauce is homemade! We will definitely be back! read more

Lasse's is a dependable and enjoyable place to have lunch or dinner. The dinning room is separate from the bar, but gets very busy , so reservations are suggested. Variety of food is large and quantities are plentiful, you will likely ask for a to-go container. Prices are typical of today's dining out, and derives can be great or average. read more

Second time ordering catering from Lasses. Ordered for Easter Dinner. Pickup was so easy and everything packed well and instructions for reheating provided. Everything was great! Especially loved the roasted potatoes and of course their roast beef. The silent sleeper was their eggplant parm! It was delicious. Every time I get Lasses for catering my guests rave! Will have to go eat in one day. read more

Booked a catered event with Lasse's. Ordered both hot and cold trays. Everything was delicious, with the garlic Parm wings being a particular hit. But the best part was the service. They offered to deliver the food, and their two staff members were on time and set up in record time. Everyone I spoke to at the restaurant was kind and cordial, and helped me decide what to buy and how much. Would definitely recommend for any catered event. read more

Great place. Went here for the first time in a long while on Sunday evening. It's a pretty small place inside with fairly good parking. The menu is pretty extensive. I had stuffed cabbage and it was very good. I want to come back and try more things. The staff is friendly and helpful. read more

I know this is a locally-loved place but I don't really understand the hype (and neither did many of the people with me). I will say, service was excellent which is a great redeeming factor! The menu at Lasse's is HUGE, I will definitely say way too big. I think narrowing down would make the dishes a lot more successful. And it would be a lot easier to decide on what to order. Another interesting thing at Lasse's is the portion sizes - they are also HUGE. The pasta dishes came out with what looked like a whole box of pasta. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it was way too much. The food itself was underseasoned and bland, which I was disappointed in. I had the scallops, which should have been delicious but tasted like nothing at all. Also weird to pair with yellow rice. My friend had the chicken with cranberry and felt the same way, super underseasoned. HOWEVER, I did try the fried shrimp which was delicious! I was told that the steak was tasty as well, so perhaps I ordered wrong? I wouldn't rush back to Lasse's but might try it again if others wanted to. I think they can work on the menu size, portion sizes, and seasoning, but if they get that down, it would be great! read more

A diamond in the rough. Cannot believe i haven't been here til this week. The service was great super friendly and quick. The quality and portions they serve are unbeatable. The service was unbeatable. The staff worked together seamlessly to make sure every person was taken care of. The potato skins were delicious- cooked perfectly. I am not a huge fan of roast beef, but felt like I should order what they're known for. I'm probably not the best judge since I don't normally eat it. The place was small and old but ran like a well-oiled machine. Glad we tried it. read more

It was my first time going to Lasse's. Loved this place from the moment of entering. Rockelle was our waitress and she was outstanding. The place has so much character. Service was very fast and the food was delicious. I could not believe how huge and amazing the deserts were. By far the best place I have been to in decades. I am a very hard person to please so trust me when I say, this place it outstanding! read more

Something's are hit or miss. But when they hit, they are great. Only had issues with the apps. The apps are basic. I'm still going for a 5 star review because this place is great. Last time I got the ribeye sandwich special. Fantastic. My girlfriend got the meatball grinder, top notch. Very good basic food cooked well. Quick and fast service. Great prices. Great hole in the wall spot. Keep it up! Will be back again and again. read more

4.5 Had this place bookmarked for a while, finally went because we were nearby. Unassuming little pub/restaurant. Very inviting and hospitable wait staff, who worked together. Appetizer combo was pretty big. Coconut shrimp and calamari were our favorites. Get the extra gorgonzola on side salad, well worth it! The chicken francaise was tasty and tender, good portion. The fried seafood combo was the best I have had in CT in many years. Fries were crispy and perfect, wish I could have eaten them all (too full). Clam bellies, tender, clean, fresh and very tasty. Scallops were sweet, tender and juicy. Fried shrimp were huge and delicious and I usually am not a fan of fried shrimp but these were special. I wish we made this a regular spot years ago. Hidden local gem!!! read more

Have driven past this place a million times. Decided to stop in for early dinner after Milford shopping trip. Should've come here sooner! Outstanding staff. Best potato skins we've had in years. Lasse's Restaurant has been a fixture in Milford for decades. A family owned and operated business that has successfully maintained its original 1960's charm. A small bar between the terrific kitchen and their distinctive and divided dining rooms. You feel as if you are in another era once entered this fine establishment. The ambiance, fog quality, service and take out system is fluid; you will not regret having a great meal there. Did I mention they're very reasonable also- read more

We hosted a neighborhood Oktoberfest dinner, which was catered by lasses. Everything was delicious, on time, and reasonably priced. We received so many compliments on the food! We also use lasses for our Fourth of July party. They are excellent for food and service, no wonder they've been there so long. read more

Everything is great . Food , staff and atmosphere. Dan is the best bartender around. Never have to wait for service

Excellent wide variety menu. In business for year. Very busy so get reservations. Parking is tight though.

This has been the "go-to" place for myself and a group of my friends for years. The food is always good and the menu is huge and has something for everyone. The wait staff is always friendly and very accomodating. If you are looking for an upscale classy place, this isn't the place for you. But if you want a comfortable and hospitable atmosphere with consistently good food, then Lasse's is your kind of place! read more

Amazing old school restaurant. Everything they make is really good. I could eat here every day.

I walked in with the expectation that this would be a dive bar. The booths and building were definitely old, but the tables were covered with linens so they definitely dressed it up a bit. I had the open faced roast beef because my son wanted to try it. It was good, but I definitely want to try the regular roast beef sandwich next time! My son ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap that was great... I would definitely order something with the crispy chicken in it! My daughter had the penne a la vodka with chicken added. It was very good too. For dessert, we had a chocolate peanut butter pie that was terrific! read more

So many choices on the menu! Great food and waitstaff. Casual. Make a reservation! Desserts are yummy too!

A hole in the wall restaurant not worth missing out on. Overwhelmingly large regular menu with a specials menu to match. We also loved their seasonal drink specials. Quick service and large portion sizes. I have ordered family style trays which were enough to serve 5-6 people. Also have attended catered events and their food was equally delicious. read more

The food was great but the service was horrible. After dinner was done we sat there at are table for almost 15 minutes and no one checked on us until we said something to another server. There were only eight people in the restaurant at the time so it's not like they were busy. Later I found out that are waitressing was eating her dinner in the back room. Not very professional. I'd go back but hopefully we don't get the same waitress. read more

On a bad weekend for me, a chance stop here made my monumental problems seem - forgotten. On hold. I needed this tonight. read more

Great place! Food is delicious and super cheap! Think $15.95 for prime rib dinner at lunch. I had filet of sole Florentine with mashed and mixed vegetables at lunch for $13.95. Keep in mind I am writing this in 2024!! Try it you'll be back!! read more

After living in the Milford area for a while I've heard a lot about the Roast Beef sandwich at Lasse's. After all of these years, I finally got around to trying it. Overall, I think I'm a little underwhelmed. The sandwich isn't bad but it's not great. It's just ok. I certainly would order it again but I won't be rushing back. The sandwich is served with one slice of pickle, au jus for dipping and potato salad. I don't think the roll is suitable for dipping in au jus. I would have preferred this sandwich with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato. Au jus requires a much more crispy roll. I'm a big fan of potato salad and this was just ok as well. It was extremely "eggy" and the potatoes had too much bite. The restaurant itself was a "dive" in my opinion. It was old, "stuff" everywhere and not very appealing. read more
