Went with my wife the night before Valentines Day to Ristorante Di Sofia for some fine dining. Plenty of parking in the rear on both sides of the restaurant, I'd recommend reservations as they have a steady crowd on a nightly basis. We started out with some mozz sticks for an app, love the tomato sauce it comes with. Nicely coated and cheesy sticks, perfect for a warmup to your entree. Each entree comes with a side salad. Speaking of, I do with you could swap it out with a soup since I'm not a salad guy. She got the chicken parm, came with pasta on the side which keeps it from becoming soggy. Good size thin cutlet coated with sauce and cheese, was definitely a hit. I went with the Cavatelli Rapini. Was cavatelli pasta tossed broccoli rabe, cannellini beans, sausage finished with garlic and olive oil. Full of flavor, I finished every bite, good size portion as well. Good amount of seating and serving was hearty and kind. We got a drink, app and 2 entrees and walked out without breaking the bank, really nice place! read more

classy restaurant, but not too classy that you can't relax. Met by who I assume was the owner with a handshake and a warm welcome. Bartender was our waiter, and we had an old fashioned and an espresso martini, both of which were some of the best we've had. Appetizer was calamari which was delicious, but only rings which I like but would have loved some tentacles too. We had the fish special (brazino fish) and the penne bolognese both were amazing! All the while the waiter was ensuring we were ok and asked if we needed anything. Atmosphere was great, food was fantastic. Highly recommend it. Found this local restaurant on Yelp while driving north on a road trip. We sat right away and were served quickly. I had the dinner special of braised pork shank. The pork and broccoli were delicious, didn't care for the risotto, didn't taste fresh. Three other tables were all locals and they spoke with us and got hugs from the staff. The music was perfect for an Italian restaurant - music from The Godfather and Frank. What more could you want? Our waiter, Donny, was very friendly. There is a bar which has a TV so it feels more casual than I may be describing. If you're looking for good Italian with dimmed lighting, white tablecloths and nice music, and want a neighborhood feel, stop at Ristorante Di Sofia (named after the owners daughter). read more

New York is full of mediocre Italian restaurants; they seem to be carbon copies of each other. The servers have fake Italian accents, even if they're from Central America or Staten Island. There's lots of theater around the grating of parmesan. The food is greasy and salty. The wines are expensive and chosen haphazardly. Sad to say, I've been to dozens of them. Ristorante Di Sofia is way better! After reading the menu online before our visit, I had low expectations. When I walked in to the dining room and got a handshake from the owner, my expectations sunk even further. But then it was like waking up from a bad dream! This ristorante is really quite fine. We started with a bottle of New Zealand sauvignon blanc at a price that I considered fair and then ordered a wide variety of entrées. Each dish came with a side salad, which was served first. The salads were well assembled and made everyone smile. The main courses got thumbs up from everyone at our table. I ordered the gamberoni (large shrimp) scampi and loved both the shrimp and the pasta that was underneath. This entrée was delicious and copious. Way to go! The dining room was spacious; in Queens, we would have felt cramped. The service was pleasant and efficient. Parking was easy! I consider that we made a great choice. I was visiting friends for Labor Day and wanted to treat them to a nice dinner on Sunday before heading back to Boston on Monday. . I chose Sofias and made a reservation for 7:45pm. When we arrived we decided to sit at the bar. My friends had been there before so they knew who the bartender was. The owner was also there and only about 2 tables of customers. The atmosphere was shrouded in negativity. The bartender didn't speak 2 words and the owner sat at the bar with a scowl on his face and head in his hands the entire time. I was hoping to have a memorable upbeat dinner with friends and instead felt hurried and as if they were doing us a favor. The food was mediocre and this place is way over rated. Terrible atmosphere Terrible attitudes.ok food. Sorry but the days of The Godfather are over. $300 later and feeling less than satisfied overall I'd say NO to going there again. If you didn't want to be there on a holiday weekend, close your doors and spare others your lousy moods. read more

The rigatoni and the pappardelle were fantastic. We also got the special dessert, lemon crème brûlée but it wasn't good. Sofia's is a nice place. There are 15 well spaced white table clothes tables which bring the class level up a notch. They have a nicely and newly paved and lined parking lot that even have some shaded spots. They also have a large bar with seating for at least 15 if you're not in the mood for white table cloth service. Either way you will get the "typical" Italian music full of Frank Sinatra types. The bartender, server, everything man seemed a little overwhelmed as he was on his own. But he was still attentive and pleasant. The menu was perfectly what I expected for a small Italian place. For lunch I had the Mediterranean salad with chicken, fresh mozzarella, mushrooms, roasted peppers, and a bunch of other flavorful items. It was probably the best salad of 2022. This was a real easy drive from Bridgeport Hospital, so if you waiting for a loved one this will put you in a good mood. read more

New restaurant and it is worth a visit (weekly!). Excellent food, awesome staff and great ambiance. We started with the VONGOLE & COZZE (Mussels) and they were perfectly cooked in an amazing wine sauce. Save some bread for dipping in the sauce! We moved on to Chicken Parmigiana and Cavatelli with broccoli rabe and white beans (it comes with sausage as well, but I requested no meat). Both meals were amazing. Finished with Espresso and Tiramisu. I didn't try the Tiramisu, but the plate was wiped clean, so I am guessing it was incredible. Will definitely be back! read more

We had such an excellent meal here. Started with fired mozz -- perfect. I can't remember the name of the dish that I had, but it was absolutely delicious: chicken cutlets with sausage, potatoes, peppers, onions -- so good! My wife had chicken parm and loved it. Our entrees came with side salads which were fresh and delicious. When our excellent server came to check on us, I told him, I just was sad that all the food was gone, I enjoyed it so much. We were stuffed, but got cheesecake for dessert anyway: I'm telling you, it was the best cheesecake I've had since I don't know when. To top it off, at the end of our meal, our server brought us each a complimentary shot of limoncello -- it was the perfect end to an excellent experience. Highly, highly recommend. Been here a few times now when I'm traveling for work. They have the best veal parm I've ever had. It is so tender you can cut it with a fork. I would put it ahead of anything I've had in the North End or Federal Hill. Another 5 star meal. Great dinner choices so it was hard to decide. I went with (old reliable) riggie alla vodka. Our waiter suggested to add chicken cutlet on top and it was delicious. What a great addition to my town! Went there on a crowded Saturday night and while they pack em in, the noise levels were good. Staff was amazing the entire time. Started off with a Dirty Martini with blue cheese stuffed olive that was perfect. For an app, went with the Burrata. The jam was awesome and the burrata was perfectly soft and drippy in the center as it should be. Wine list is pretty decent with the right amount of offerings. Main course was Chicken Piccata.
