Went to Edible Couture in Stratford, CT and first of all the atmosphere?! Let's get into it!!! Absolutely gorgeous. Everything is pink, super aesthetic, very boutique bakery vibes with florals everywhere and it just feels really intentional and pretty the second you walk in. Staff was super sweet and welcoming too, which made the whole experience feel even better. Now onto the star of the show, the baked goods. The sweet potato pie cookie was SENSATIONAL. I need to go back ASAP and grab like 3 more because I'm still thinking about it. Perfect flavors and texture. Tested just like a sweet potato pie and the crust was impeccable. I was also told the strawberry shortcake cupcake is one of their most popular items and I can 100% see why. The whipped cream center was such a light fresh surprise and the whole cupcake really did taste like actual strawberry shortcake, not just "inspired by it." This is the kind of place that keeps you coming back for more, and more, and more. After being a customer for many years now, it's wonderful to say that Edible Couture has not sacrificed their quality at all, but continues to get better and better. The actual bakery space continues to allow me with every visit, extremely clean, vibrant (Pink is such a happy color!), full of life, and you can tell the love that has been poured into every detail. Not to mention, right next-door their event space is fantastic and I have had the pleasure of taking part in a lovely intimate gathering there before. My most recent visit, I came in just to get the famous sweet potato cookies and was grateful that they were not sold out! While there, of course, I spotted the beautiful and delectable cupcakes in the pastry case; I simply could not resist and somehow ended up adding five of those to my order. Then a fellow customer came in excited about getting her hands on the jerk chicken biscuit. I said, "Wait, what is that?!"After she explained it to me, I told the owner that she might as well add one to my order as well because now I have to try it. From savory to sweet, everything was incredibly delicious and now I'm finding myself craving this jerk chicken biscuit, which comes with an amazing mango slaw. By the way, giving me one more reason to NEED to make this a regular spot on my commute home. The owner is a sweetheart, the staff is welcoming and helpful, and of course the baked goods and menu items are amazing! We have been going to Edible Couture since they were up in New Haven. The new shop is beautiful and so open! Love love all the hot pink decor! Tish is absolutely wonderful. She makes these delicious creations and has never steered us wrong! Today we got the banana pudding cheesecake, cupcakes, and cookies. Everything was delicious. I think I'll be dreaming of how good that cheesecake is. They also make amazing vegan options! If you would like to capitalize on those make sure to call so those options are available! Edible Couture is a boutique bakery that opened in New Haven, Connecticut in August 2020. It was founded by Letitia "Tisha" Hudson. Growing up, Hudson often baked alongside her grandmother. She shared her grandmother's love of cooking and baking and soon developed a passion for unique flavors and thinking outside the box. As an adult, she began baking custom cakes and other tasty treats at her home in Stratford. In 2012, after sharing some creations with friends, Hudson came up with the brand name "Edible Couture". She made custom desserts for private parties and other various functions. Her cupcakes in particular became very popular, especially the banana cream and strawberry cupcakes. By summer 2017, Hudson was selling her cupcakes out of a vending tricycle at public stops. By the following year, she obtained a food truck to sell her delicious treats. In August 2020, Hudson finally opened her first brick & mortar location at 129 Court Street in New Haven. It was a combined storefront partnered with Poreyah Benton of 'Vegan Ahava' (which also had a food truck). In April 2023, after continued success, Hudson relocated the bakery to a larger space at 1402 Barnum Avenue in Stratford. My family and I recently visited Edible Couture after getting a recommendation from a friend of ours. The interior was very festive and decorated with a lot of pink flowers, furniture, etc. Hudson's display cases were filled with all sorts of cupcakes, cake cups, cookies and gourmet cakes. After looking over the selection, we decided to get a big slice of "Strawberry Short Cheesecake". The strawberries tasted so fresh, the cream was so light and fluffy, and the cheesecake can the perfect consistency. Edible Couture uses fashionable decor in a vibrant and fun setting. There signature dessert is the cake cups so I ordered the Red Velvet Oreo Cake Cup and I also ordered a Banana Pudding Cupcake, Reese's Peanut Butter Cupcake and Strawberry Shortcake Cupcake. The Red Velvet Oreo Cake Cup was delicious. The cake was moist and layering was just right to get every bite. The cupcakes were moist but the cream on the top was heavy for me but all in all a great cupcake. The customer service was great. I believe his name was Jayden. He gave exceptional customer service and gave me a rundown of all items. Edible Couture provides a great experience while ordering your desserts and a great atmosphere. read more

I came across Edible Couture through their truck, from there I would visit them when they were near downtown New Haven. I found myself in Stratford the other day, and remembering that they were there, I decided to stop in to satisfy the sweet tooth. I ordered a red velvet cupcake with Oreo topping & a strawberry shortcake cup. Both were delicious. Although I love sweets, I eat them sparingly, so I was able to get two servings out of the cupcake as well as two servings out of the strawberry shortcake cup. They make custom birthday cakes and they have a large assortment of baked goods. I also ordered an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, which I think was my favorite. It was incredibly soft and decadent, and I was also able to split it into two servings. I highly recommend checking them out if you need to satisfy the sweet tooth or if you're looking for a cake for a special occasion. read more

The woman taking our order was extremely pleasant, and so was the older woman as well. This place DESERVES to have a crowd and people trying their desserts. But, I've had better cupcakes. Coming from someone who graduated culinary school, there was a lot that was left to be desired. I sell cupcakes at events, and these cupcakes were a dollar more than what I sell mine for and they weren't even filled and they were crumbly and dry. It was just unfortunate. read more

I personally haven't visited but I've had my husband pick up sweet potato cookies once or twice and boy! I probably shouldn't visit myself because I may order it all! The cookies were amazing! Let me preface my review by saying that I grew up with a grandma who was an awesome baker. When you are fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful, tasty treats, you can't help but to have high expectations for the baked goods you consume elsewhere. Edible Couture meets and exceeds my baking standards, having tasted their Oreo cupcake and their Red Velvet Oreo Cake Shake. The cupcake was extremely moist and chocolatey, and the frosting was perfectly balanced in sugar and vanilla. The shake--well, I couldn't put it down; it was one of the best shakes I've ever had. Given my experience today, I look forward to trying more treats and supporting this business. We need outstanding bakeries in the Stratford/Milford area, and Edible Couture certainly does not disappoint. read more
