So here's an unplanned side trip that came on my way back from the Woman Run CT: Sound Healing Event. Honestly, I stopped here because of that Yelp event at the Odobo Bookstore and I felt it was the perfect stop for lunch on my way to the National Helicopter Museum. (Yes, I did learn after that that museum won't be reopening again until Memorial Day, but let's not get that carried away for right now). Now if you haven't had their snacks, you're missing out. The tahini brownies and lemon bars are pretty damn good! I also had took a free sample of one of their teas as I awaited my actual order. The free sample is worth trying when you're waiting for your order. Now, if we go on to what I had ordered, I went with the kielbasa sandwich, a side of garlic bread, and the Iced Earl Grey Lemonade, all to go. I chose to add rose syrup to my drink because I felt like that should fit just fine, and it more than did! Actually, when that drink came, I tasted it, and one other person who was waiting on their order asked me about it. Told them what it was and recommended them try it on their next visit, right on the spot. That lemonade with rose syrup is PEAK! The garlic bread had a light crisp to it and was tasty. I'd definitely grab it again if I were in Stratford more often. As for the kielbasa sandwich, I noticed another person who ordered this recently mentioned in their review it was underwhelming, and honestly, I can kind of understand why. In my case, it felt like the meat was slightly overpowered by the mustard. Strange for me to say since I do like mustard, but I do feel like it was a bit overdone for this sandwich. But I did still think it was a decent to good sandwich. The soft pretzel bun is a good compliment here, and at least the sauerkraut wasn't the overpowering item here. I wouldn't hurry to get it again, but I won't discourage others from trying it at least once. What ultimately brought this down to a 4 though was the fact that this tea shop felt a tad too crowded for my liking. That can make even coming here kind of intimidating which isn't really something I look for when looking to have tea. This goes doubly when you have a sign right outside the door that says that you'll have to wait outside after a certain number of people are in the tea house. Because it's spring I don't mind it as much, but a month or two ago, that probably would have garnered a lot of complaints. If you can get past that however, then this is very worth coming to.

First time visiting because we were recommended to by a family member. We weren't too sure how everything worked and there was sooo much on the menu. We decided on a brown sugar cinnamon latte and an iced matcha latte and sat by the window. After ordering they brought our drinks to us. We both thought our drinks were delicious! I then, came back a few days later and opted to use the ordering kiosk so I could browse the menu easier. I picked a biscuit, the same latte I got the prior day, my husband got the same latte he got the prior day and then we shared a kielbasa sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I selected dine in on the kiosk. I was bummed for two reasons when the food was brought to us, the latte didn't come in the cute large mug as the other day just a to go cup and the kiosk didn't know that they were out of the bacon, cheddar scallion biscuit so I had to select a different one and I didn't really like the selections remaining. I ended up picking blueberry since I had already paid and it was just ok. The kielbasa sandwich was underwhelming, not much meat and the sweet potato fries were soggy. Anyways, I'll skip the kiosk next time so that the communication is a little better and stick with ordering just drinks since that's what they specialize in. I mean, the drinks are always very good! It's always busy and the ambiance is very cute.

Perfect place to meet a friend for a cup of tea (or coffee!) and a biscuit. Haven't sampled their food in some time, but they have nice pre-prepared offerings you can peruse for purchase.

    Quiche (Mediterranean) with side salad

Just stopped by for the first time on a walk with my mom and dog. I ordered the quiche special (Mediterranean) with side salad, my mom got the goat cheese and beet salad, an iced almond milk latte with a little bit of the honey lavender syrup, an earl grey lemonade (tart and refreshing), and we split a peach hand pie. Everything was really great and fresh! The quiche was very tasty and not at all heavy, the salad greens were fresh and cold, and the espresso in the latte was really nice which is great because there's not too many options for a good latte in the green area. One of the better ones I've tried in Stratford. Staff was very pleasant, we ate outside but the interior was very nice as well. I'll definitely be back

My team had a virtual tea tasting Hosted by Jeannie and her associate. We did a starter tea kit and it was perfect for a one hour social event gathering. I have always wanted to do a tea tasting and was so happy. It was nice that each sample bag has directions and suggestions on how long to let the tea bags sit for. Each tea bag was perfectly chosen and I surprisingly loved each one for different reasons . My mind has definitely expanded after this mix of tea tasting/history lesson.

Very nice tea place. I'm a big fan of good quality of tea. We got: Jasmine-+rose tea and it was soso. Pu'r berries black tea and it was amazing!! In terms of food: Cranberry scone was good, Quiche roccoli + cheddar was also very good(although I would improve the decoration from one slice of cucumber to something more interesting) Soup of the day was also very nice

When Open Door Tea came to Stratford I was overjoyed. A tea place was just the thing to break up the restaurants on The Green. They have now been there for awhile and I couldn't be more impressed. Upon walking in you are hit with the beautiful smell of fresh brewed tea and calm. The dining room is a perfect combination of mismatched comfortable seating and tea cups. Each pace setting has its own unique charm. I usually pick where I sit but the cup that I want that day! Going up to the counter you will see they are not short on amazing options! A wall of tea cans ready to be brewed can be smelled to help you make your selection. The bakery case is NOT to be slept on. Vegan, gluten free, and traditional items are available. The variety never disappoints. This trip I was taken by the Lemon Thyme cookie...it was a delicious balanced bite and it did not make it to my tea lol. It was a hot day so an iced tea hit the spot! If you ordered tea to sit in they bring the pot and a timer so you know exactly when it is ready. There are multiple sweetener options for these fragrant cups. If you are in the area (or even if you make it a destination) you will not regret a visit! @thesidedishers

In August, we had my daughter's bridal shower at Open Door Tea. What a total success! We had 20 ladies, and we picked from a menu of selections including cucumber sandwiches, scones, little quiches, chicken salad and more. Special shout out to the Open Tea Salad with warm sweet potatoes and Gorgonzola. It was ridiculously delicious! We chose teas, and sweets for a delicious ending. The prices were fair and the service was great! No need to decorate tables because their tea cups and tea pots made the perfect centerpieces, along with how the food was served. We had a private space, with its own bathroom, and no stairs for easy entry to the space. It was a wonderful event and I highly recommend them!

I'm not gonna make today's review too long today, but I will write what I have time for as I ride…read morethe train. So way back when, I had first seen the place as Roly Poly Doughnuts or something of the sort. Some time in between, Tiffany's Place took over and has been here ever since. It's honestly a place I've been wanting to try at least once back during my overnight misadventures of the 2010's and I'm only just now getting to come here for the first time in 2026. I do notice that the reviews before mine seem to be mixed. People either love it or hate it. I can't say that I love it yet, but I definitely did not hate it. This is definitely more a place I might go if I have to wait longer for the train in between trains ever since I started transferring in Stratford over Bridgeport. Today's order consisted of a Large Hot Cinnamon Mocha and the two donuts you see in the photo attached. Honestly, nothing was bad about my order. The coffee I got was definitely better than that latte I had Ubered from New Canaan last week. As for the donuts, they were good, but they weren't amazing. I do appreciate that my French Cruller had a chocolate frosting on top, but as you can see from the missing icing some of it stuck to the bag. That's why if someone were to bag my donuts I'd prefer a chocolate glaze over any kind of frosting. I like getting the complete item. Speaking of the chocolate glaze, I liked the donut. Again, not a groundbreaking donut by any means, but I would get it again. The price is good too. Ever since the station cafe started doing a $10 card minimum, I stopped going to it because I can't justify paying $10 for a coffee when I need to use cash for other things. Here, I only needed to pay $7.25 for the entire order, and it honestly made more sense for me to order enough to that amount here. The coffee is cheaper too even if you take the $10 minimum argument out entirely. Where coffee was $3.76 at the station, this one was $3.21 before tax. Yeah, if and when the Waterbury branch has difficulties staying on time, I won't mind coming here again to try more things.

The menu and everything in the display cases looked so appetizing, we had such a difficult time choosing what to order! We started with BEC sandwiches - they were made really well on delicious toasted rolls - my only complaint was the Kraft American cheese singles. Please upgrade the cheese and it will make the world of a difference to the meal!! I also had a hot tea with some pastries we got: Oreo cheesecake and an ombligo with a custard filling - absolutely delicious and perfectly sweetened. The inside decor was very nice and offered comfy soft seating to dine in with. I will definitely make a drive up soon from Norwalk to enjoy some more!

We tried the beef and the spinach/mushroom empanadas, a chocolate filled pastry and the alfajores. The empanadas were the proper baked Argentinian version. I thought the beef was very tasty but it lacked the chopped olive I associate with the Argentinian style. La Portena had no complaints about her spinach/mushroom version. The alfajores came in three sizes, something I did not realize when ordering. I would not repeat my order of the large size, the ratio of cookie to filling being off. The medium looked about right. The best item was a chocolate filled pastry, similar to a croissant that I had the next day. Flaky and light, it revealed some skill in the baking.

When we arrived we were told it would be just a few minutes as we were early. No problem! We had no agenda so that was completely fine. However, our reservation was at 1pm and we did not get seated until 1:30pm. It would not have been as bad if one of the staff simply came out to say sorry we will get you seated as soon as we can. There was literally no contact with anyone. We kept poking our heads around to make sure they knew we were there. The worst part was there were numerous open tables. I would've been fine had they sat us as given us some water vs. just waiting in the waiting room Once we were seated, our waitress was as pleasant as anyone could be. Very very kind. We ordered the winter tea service and started out with the tea sandwiches. They were very tasty as was the tea. Because we were so hungry we finished everything before the scones arrived. Once they arrived, they nice and warm which was a nice touch. However, the inside was still raw and doughy. I picked around it as best I could. The pianist was a nice addition. I just wish, especially with this being a surprise that it would have a better experience.

The photos and menu looked great - I had no idea they only opened a couple months ago, until our server mentioned it. You wouldn't guess it, based on the attention to detail and how smoothly everything runs. It's a lovely space. They take your coats, give you purse hooks, and have a piano player jazzing up the ambiance with mellow yet uplifting tunes. The table was set perfectly with china and all the accessories you need with tea. There is a fancy/classy, yet casual, vibe. We were excited to find out we could both pick our own teas and that we didn't have to agree on one tea service (for food). The scones and treats were the same on all, but the sandwich selection varied on the three different afternoon tea menus. I opted for the "classic", which came with coronation chicken salad, ham/cheddar/mango chutney, cucumber, smoked salmon, and egg salad sandwiches. My husband got the "teas around the world" which came with Brie/apple/honey, ham/gruyere/dijon, olive tapenade/sundried tomato, chickpea/tzatziki, and a spiced chicken sandwich. All were excellent!! And when we finished, they even offered us more if we wanted them. The teas were great! We were allowed to pick our own teas (didn't have to share) from a broad menu of teas. The owner buys direct in London to get some of the finest teas that are not available locally. I am caffeine free so opted for Marian Wright Edelman's Guardian's Grace, a fruity herbal tea that was relaxation in a teacup for me. My husband first tried the Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Strength Blend, and the also had Mary McLeod Bethune's Essence of Uplift. They were all different, but all very tasty, and perfectly brewed. It also wasn't lost on me that the teas were named after amazingly strong women throughout history, and that we were enjoying them at a woman owned business, on International Women's Day! The scones were delivered fresh out of the oven with your choice of clotted cream, jam, or lemon curd (YES to all, please!) or also butter. The pastries I believe are a rotating selection, but all were tasty bites. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and hospitable. It's a nice easy pace, with two hours reserved for your experience. It was a wonderful escape from reality! I really appreciate Laurie, Donjae, and Ingrid for creating the perfect experience for us today. 10/10 highly recommend. Call ahead for reservations!
