    Salted maple Latte

This place appeared on our Yelp list as we searched for a cafe on a Saturday morning, while driving back from Milford. This is pretty much off the beaten path as it is kind of on it's own, overlooking a golf course and the sound. The place is simply lovely, an almost circular building with a lot of lighting. There is both indoor and outdoor seating's, and on a beautiful fall afternoon, it provided the best ambiance. The menu is decent with the main focus being the coffee and latte's however they do have some savory items at the counter. And might I add - They do have the coolest logo for a coffee shop

What a tasty little local place! Although it was absolutely freezing because it's right next to the beach, I couldn't help but daydream how much fun this is going to be to come to in the summer! The menu is the perfect size and everything is fresh baked; service was so cheerful behind the counter and genuinely happy to see me at 7 AM. This is dangerously close to my job so I'm a little fearfulI'm going to be here way too often! Absolutely delicious and really nice price point too.

Extremely comfortably space to spend time alone or with friends! Plenty of seats indoor and outdoor, I really enjoyed the latte I got I've never tried blueberry syrup before and this place gave me the perfect introduction! Thanks so much to the kind barista! Awesome music playing!!!

Great atmosphere. They made a place that's all windows somehow cozy. Great coffee. I had the avocado toast with an egg. Husband had the biscuit.

I've tried a handful of the seasonal drinks and they've all been delicious--definitely a highlight of the menu. I've also had a few of the breakfast items, and they've always been a hit. Everything tastes fresh and well made. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the pricing. It's pretty expensive for what you get--grabbing a coffee and a small breakfast sandwich can easily run over $20, which feels a bit steep for a casual stop. Overall, it's a really enjoyable place with quality food and drinks, just be prepared to spend a little more than expected.

Went out of my way to Stratford solely to try Drowsy Whaler out and will absolutely do it again. I got an egg and cheese biscuit and added their chipotle mayo with the pumpkin spice cold brew. The sandwich was perfection. Nothing beats house made syrups and cold foam. Ample comfy seating and tables. Phenomenal customer service.

Tried their coffeeshop for the first time and was immediately drawn to their fall specials! We got here and there was a line; there's definitely some hype around Drowsy Whaler! We enjoyed their coffee but didn't get the chance to try the food. We will be back! There was a parking lot and indoor/outdoor seating.

Couldn't resist their daily posts of their baked goods and had to revisit for breakfast! And of course for the cease and desist! Again, wonderful service, greeted immediately by happy and upbeat baristas. This breakfast biscuit is the real deal, crispy, fluffy and oh so delicious. It's a pretty sizable biscuit filled with plentiful protein to get your day started. I love passing the beach on the way in, a great way to enjoy a gorgeous morning and the salty air.

Great place to relax near the beach. Very comfortable.

I have been back several times and love it, just wish that they had a free refill on their regular cup of hot coffee. Call it a "warm up"!

My absolute favorite coffee shop in the area! They have amazing seasonal menus and I've loved every coffee I've tried. It's also a super cute cafe to sit down and read a book in.

So, SO close to perfect!! I just moved to central Connecticut, so I've been on the hunt for my new favorite coffee shop. The Drowsy Whaler came across my TikTok FYP this week and I had time to drive down to the coast, so I thought, why not? Anyone who knows me knows that I'll go to great lengths for a good iced latte, and ever since I got my own espresso machine, I have high standards. Pretty much everywhere I've been so far has been totally disappointing. Many shops offer a breadth of flavor options that sound good in theory, but ultimately, turn out watery and acidic. No shade to rookie baristas--learning how to pull a good shot is hard--but the shot is literally the foundation of the coffee. No amount of milk and sugar can make a bad shot of espresso good. The Drowsy Whaler baristas can pull a good shot. They have a variety of fun flavor options updated seasonally. I got an iced Salty Lumberjack, from their Spooky Season menu. It came out looking so, so pretty. My one gripe is that the prettiness comes at a cost. They put the syrup in the cup first, which is fine, IF you do a good job of mixing it with the milk product before adding your espresso. Looking at my beverage and those around me, it looks like standard procedure here is not to mix the syrup into the milk before pouring the shot. While it creates a cool layered look, it's not practical to drink. No amount of shaking and swirling the cup will get syrup off the bottom. The only thing that works is to stir VIGOROUSLY with a straw, which mixes in the top layer of whipped cream and much as the syrup on the very bottom. All this to say: this is a beautiful shop in a beautiful location, and it's BUSY, because it's good! With this one simple adjustment, they would be the best in the area.

I'm not gonna make today's review too long today, but I will write what I have time for as I ride…read morethe train. So way back when, I had first seen the place as Roly Poly Doughnuts or something of the sort. Some time in between, Tiffany's Place took over and has been here ever since. It's honestly a place I've been wanting to try at least once back during my overnight misadventures of the 2010's and I'm only just now getting to come here for the first time in 2026. I do notice that the reviews before mine seem to be mixed. People either love it or hate it. I can't say that I love it yet, but I definitely did not hate it. This is definitely more a place I might go if I have to wait longer for the train in between trains ever since I started transferring in Stratford over Bridgeport. Today's order consisted of a Large Hot Cinnamon Mocha and the two donuts you see in the photo attached. Honestly, nothing was bad about my order. The coffee I got was definitely better than that latte I had Ubered from New Canaan last week. As for the donuts, they were good, but they weren't amazing. I do appreciate that my French Cruller had a chocolate frosting on top, but as you can see from the missing icing some of it stuck to the bag. That's why if someone were to bag my donuts I'd prefer a chocolate glaze over any kind of frosting. I like getting the complete item. Speaking of the chocolate glaze, I liked the donut. Again, not a groundbreaking donut by any means, but I would get it again. The price is good too. Ever since the station cafe started doing a $10 card minimum, I stopped going to it because I can't justify paying $10 for a coffee when I need to use cash for other things. Here, I only needed to pay $7.25 for the entire order, and it honestly made more sense for me to order enough to that amount here. The coffee is cheaper too even if you take the $10 minimum argument out entirely. Where coffee was $3.76 at the station, this one was $3.21 before tax. Yeah, if and when the Waterbury branch has difficulties staying on time, I won't mind coming here again to try more things.

I love everything about this place and the owner is the BEST... she runs a great place and is so…read morefun and accommodating. I'm handicapped and the place is extremely accessible. Check it out and it's open early and just steps away from the Stratford train station. She is funny, and sarcastic with her signage! I recommended this gem!
