As of at least 3/16/2024, this location is now "pickup only". I walked in and was told I'd need to download the Starbucks app and place an order that way if I wanted anything. I did not and will not do this. I was offended and my child, who I'd promised a cake pop to, was very disappointed. This is yet another reason to avoid corporate/franchise chains and support one of the local options. There used to be around six people working at this location and now there's ... one. Thankfully, there are a number of small, locally owned businesses in Stratford serving coffee and snacks that would be grateful for your business. I want this review to be seen, so I won't name them for fear of it being flagged as a promotion but a quick Yelp search will yield a few options -- some only a few blocks away. I'm dying to know what their rationale for this is and how far up the corporate chain this decision was made. I have fond memories of hanging out at this location when it was an actual cafe (spending time with friends, conversing with strangers, sitting at the cafe tables and waving at people going by, etc.). This is literally the slowest starbucks I have ever been to. I ordered two drinks and one coffee cake.I waited 30 minutes for all of them to be ready. While waiting, people who ordered after me received their drink while I continued to wait. After about 20 minutes, I asked how much longer it would take for my Strawberry Acai with Lemonade would take as the coffee cake and iced green tea was ready. I used to do Dunkin' mobile app for coffee a few times a week and while it had more benefits like more free coffees (if you use the app right) and sugary donuts you know are awful for you and frankly don't taste that great but look amazing, but the quality of my coffee was because expeditiously worse throughout time. Frustrated with always drinking something that didn't taste like what I ordered I stopped going there. The Starbucks app does offer nice benefits too I highly recommend instead of standing in line in the morning waiting for a coffee. I bypass the lines and go straight for my coffee sitting on a cute little staircase looking thing. Easy peasy and who doesn't like rewards? While I know Starbucks isn't like the best coffee in the world I do enjoy their cold brew quite a bit. I'm currently obsessed with the Cold brew with salted cream foam.... it's freaking delicious (MUST TRY). The nitro cold brew is also a velvety treat. I have had them make the salted cream foam cold brew wrong a couple of times and they always seem happy to remake it. I can't blame them for making drinks wrong sometimes they can fix it without a problem and their menu of drinks only keeps expanding (I wouldn't wanna learn how to make that many different drinks). The piss poor attitude of the barista, probably due to stress because her other employees aren't helping. This Starbucks needs some serious help. It is gross inside. Tables, floor, bathrooms, and window edges are dirty. Music is loud, so If you intend to study my advice is to find somewhere else. The employees appear to be helpful and kind. Trash bins are overflowing with trash. It is not busy here so I just don't get it. For a Starbucks, this location is slightly above mediocre. The problem is not inside, it's outside. The last 5 times I've gone there, a large group of teenagers hang out in front sitting at the Starbucks tables. They don't wear masks and I literally have to walk within 2 feet of some of them to get into the door. The tables are for Starbucks customers, but they aren't buying anything. Even without Covid, I don't care to patronize businesses that allow non-paying teenagers to hang around in front. Today there were 15 to 20 teenagers outside and they all just stare at each customer walking in. Not one employee has the sense to go out and tell them to leave. Another Starbucks review under my belt... This location has some issues. First of all, the counter is way too close to the door. Often lines form out the door and around the building because you can only fit about 5-6 people in line comfortably. To make matters worse, to get to the bathroom, you have to cut through that line of people. Seating options are better here than some of the other locations I've been in. There's a large bench on the back, tables throughout the perimeter and very few obstacles to work around like displays and such. They also have outdoor seating you can use once CT weather actually stops acting crazy. The staff here are super friendly and when I worked in Bridgeport and would stop here every morning and afternoon, they knew what I drank, how I drank it (hot in the morning, iced in the afternoon), and what I usually ordered for a friend. They're less chatty here than other 'bucks locations, but overall it seems more relaxed here than others which is a nice change of atmosphere. I'd avoid this place before 9am. The lines are serious and unfortunately wait times jump to 20-30 minutes. So beware. read more

The only Starbucks I've gone to in the past month (and I go a few times a week) that consistently has the sundried tomato, spinach, and feta wrap. The baristas are so friendly and welcoming. I went here last night at 8:00pm to grab a coffee for my ride home from the train station and after waiting in line for 10 minutes they told me they were completely out of coffee. I've avoided writing a review for any Starbucks location for several years. Every location (and I've been to about ten of them in 3 different states) seems to be squarely at the 3.5-level for me: better than just okay, but not quite at the level of fan-worthiness. None of the locations rival my 5-star coffeehouse standard by any stretch of the imagination. However, my experience at this location today was so impressive that I just had to break my Yelp silence. You may laugh when you find out why, because it seems like simple logic. I've been visiting this particular Starbucks more often lately, usually when I don't feel like French pressing my way to caffeinated bliss. Also, my Starbucks Gold card has been very much neglected (if you visit Starbucks at least weekly, you'd be silly not to carry a rewards card - the benefits are rather generous). Today, I asked for a small half-decaf, half-"bold" (it's their "rich & flavorful" pick of the day) with extra room for milk. The barista said "I'll just put it in a medium cup for you." Anti-climactic? Maybe for you... but I've actually asked for a small-size level of product to be put in a medium cup before, since I like extra lots of milk to cool my coffee down to a drinkable temperature. I was even involved in a minor altercation over an identical request at a Dunkin' Donuts once... the DD lady accused me of trying to cheat her out of the difference between a small and a medium. I figured I wouldn't bother anymore since Bon Qui Qui couldn't handle my slightly complicated order. In any case, Starbucks is reliable... consistent across the board, across the nation. You have coffee ranging from "bleh" (Pike Place) to very nice (most of the "bolds" and the "Blonde") to awesome (Casi Cielo), mostly mediocre pastries (though I enjoy the plain goodness of the Mallorca bread). Ubiquity, good rewards program, pleasant staff, free wi-fi, a comfortable place to sit. There's really not much to complain about, unless you're especially anti-corporate or you spend half of your paycheck on their more costly beverages. I guess I could mention the ludicrously small parking spaces (not everyone drives a Smart), the notably awkward layout of the place (it's hard to read a menu when it's perpendicular to the register) or even the fact that it's in an ugly sub-divided former grocery store ... but those are merely quibbles. Again, the staff members at this location are especially pleasant, and I can't even convey how much I appreciated the simple accommodation that took place today.
