As I pulled into the bakery, I couldn't help but notice that Fairfield University was just around…read morethe corner. That could be a good sign with lots of foot traffic, but it could also mean a lot of college students, and who knows if they are cake connoisseurs? I decided to give it a try. I spent $24 on six cupcakes, only to be disappointed. They weren't dense or soft, just average. I should have gone to Big Y. Then, I saw the desserts in the glass and wanted to try the chocolate pudding. It turned out to be nothing more than vanilla and chocolate jello pudding with one oreo crumble cookie. A couple of bites in, and I tossed it. $6.50 and Not worth it.

Went to Edible Couture in Stratford, CT and first of all the atmosphere?! Let's get into it!!!…read moreAbsolutely gorgeous. Everything is pink, super aesthetic, very boutique bakery vibes with florals everywhere and it just feels really intentional and pretty the second you walk in. Staff was super sweet and welcoming too, which made the whole experience feel even better. Now onto the star of the show, the baked goods. The sweet potato pie cookie was SENSATIONAL. I need to go back ASAP and grab like 3 more because I'm still thinking about it. Perfect flavors and texture. Tested just like a sweet potato pie and the crust was impeccable. I was also told the strawberry shortcake cupcake is one of their most popular items and I can 100% see why. The whipped cream center was such a light fresh surprise and the whole cupcake really did taste like actual strawberry shortcake, not just "inspired by it." Overall it's a really cute, aesthetic bakery with standout desserts that actually live up to the hype. Already planning my next visit.

As I created my order, they got it wrong more than several times. And it's not a complicated order, it's simply bacon, 2 fried eggs and cheese w/. Salt, pepper & mayo. Now the only thing that I had from here was a sausage, egg and cheese on a Portuguese roll, so I can't comment on how anything else tasted, but I really loved my SEC. I also appreciate that they make the sandwich to order, and they'll even cook the eggs how you like them. There's a large amount of pastries and cakes available as well.

We were so very happy with our wedding cake! Not only did it look fantastic, but it tasted great!…read moreMy partner and I had a cake tasting many months before our wedding and were impressed with the flavors Lovely Cake offers. We didn't expect to select what we selected: lemon cake with passion fruit buttercream. It was a dream! Seriously, I wouldn't have even thought of using these flavors for our cake if not for the tasting. The cake, too, was the perfect density -- baked to perfection! Renata delivered the cake early on wedding day. She was communicative throughout the entire process. We were happy with the service, communication, and delivery! Since we opted for a wedding on the beach (at the Jacky Durrell Pavilion in Fairfield), we wanted an ocean-themed cake. After searching the internet, we found a gorgeous design and asked if Renata could make something similar. What she delivered was breathtaking. One of guests didn't even think it was a real cake! The cake was beautiful as well as delicious. We hope to find a really good excuse to order another showstopper of a cake from Lovely Cakes.
