Ordered a special July 4 cake for gathering - vanilla w raspberry filling serving 8-12. When I went to the store to pick up , owner/worker discovered they gave my cake to someone else . Gave me a smaller cake and made up for size w some cupcakes. I asked if the cake was same flavor I ordered as the icing and decoration looked the same and he said yes. Well it was not - it was some kind of chocolate marble on the inside. Complete failure on my well planned order. Terrible experience. I emailed to inquire and hopefully place an order for a birthday party (approx. 70 cupcakes). The person (Maggie) got back to me via phone and was very helpful but had to follow up with th owner on a couple of questions on the design and toppers, but was certain that the bakery can follow through. A week went by, nothing. I called and left a message for her, nothing. I did the same the following week, nothing. I even emailed her again, nothing. I ordered a Black Forest cake for my senior citizen residents and the cafe was so large! They loved it!! They all took home slices with them! The service was great, they had my order ready when I walked in. The ambiance was so nice, the smell of baked goods was just sending me into orbit. Finally!! A bakery with delicious cakes (and I love me some cake) that are also pretty!! Super accommodating and they were able to create an amazing custom Medicare card cake for my FIL with less than 3 days notice. We stuck to something simple that everyone would like so vanilla cake with chocolate mousse deliciousness - I only wish there was more mousse filling :-) Can't wait to try their other flavors. These are the most expensive for the flavor cupcakes I have ever had. So far I have tried Red Velvet, Vanilla Celebration, Chocolate mint and Vanilla coconut, Chocolate Gnache and chocolate raspberry. For the cost there is absolutely no variety in the flavor. Vanilla celebration, is exactly what you expect. That's fine. Very heavy egg flavor. Red Velvet has absolutely no chocolate I. It, just a vanilla cake with red food coloring. The frosting has absolutely no cream cheese just a normal buttercream. Vanilla Coconut again just your standard buttercream and white cake with a little coconut sprinkled on top. The Chocolate mint, again just a colors buttercream with no flavoring. The chocolate cakes is super bitter, and not good dark chocolate butter but ruin your tastebuds bitter. The mint is there but super subtle. Chocolate ganache and chocolate raspberry are the most flavorful cupcakes they provide but just barely. Again chocolate cake is just that chocolate. The buttercream on the raspberry had the flavor and it was nice but I would expect more effort for the price. All in all this is just a cupcake factory that makes 2 batters and colored buttercream toppings with minimal effort. Norwalk has significantly better options for the price you pay. I would not recommend going back and they definitely are not worth a second chance. Update: Just noticed this place has won an award for best cupcake 9 years in a row. I don't know who their competitors, but a basic store bought box cake can beat a majority of their flavors any day. read more

I ordered a cake for my son's birthday 2 weeks ahead of time, going over all details via email/phone calls with this company. During the final contact, I also made payment in full. At that point, everything was good to go, or so I thought. On August 25th, the day of my son's birthday, I went to pick up the cake. After 6-7 minutes of checking, I was told that they didn't have my order and they came back to me with only the order slip in hand and no cake. I asked them if they were joking, and the guy rolled his eyes and simply said "no". He then suggested that I could purchase one of two pre-made cakes they had available, yet offering no apology or anything for their mistake. Days later, still no contact or apology from them. I was then and still am livid about this experience. Any other time I would let it go but this was a special occasion. I've been a patron for a while but no more and I will no longer recommend them to anyone. read more

Disappointed in the order of sugar cookies and cupcakes. They were soooo tiny. I had bought them for my neighbors and cousin, and was embarrassed to give both. So soft, so perfectly fresh, with a bunch of icing, but the thing is -- not overwhelmingly sweet, so they were delicious. Any time I ever need any kind of baked goods, this is going to be my go-to. The staff was super-friendly and helpful, and carefully packaged everything up to ensure no damage would come to the product. HIGHLY recommended: Red velvet with cream cheese icing. Oh my... Kickin' it up a star for this sweet, sweet place. I helped plan my best friend's baby shower last month and she had her heart set on custom cookies for shower favors. Her mom contacted a few local spots to inquire about llama (yes llama) cookies (see the pic! too cute.) and the response from other bakeries that created custom baked goods wasn't all that impressive.
