What an absolutely delightful bakery! When we were in town, I just knew we'd have to make a trip here - do you know how hard it is to find a dedicated gluten free bakery? To add to it, they are completely nut-free as well! And they offer vegan options, too. We got a smattering of cupcakes as well as a brownie and a cookie/caramel/fudge piece of pie that gave me such a sugar high that it made my teeth zing - my teen was in heaven. All of the cupcakes we tried were absolutely delish! From the lemon raspberry to the key lime - all really terrific. I wouldn't hesitate to order for a birthday party here if we lived in the area! read more

They are now fully gluten-free with several vegan options. I promise that you can't tell that the cupcakes are gluten free. The Oh My Pie and monkey bun were delicious, and I would definitely get those again. The red velvet cupcake was perfection. The best I've had in years (including glutenous ones). Now I need to figure out how to get here more often. This is mostly a take-out place, though they have a couple of tables. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and location. read more

Wow! I highly recommend this place! They have really good cupcakes. The Cake Box is located in the downtown area. They have their parking lot for the building. The shop is really relaxing and pretty. The service is great. You'll find this huge lamp filled with sprinkles. They have seating inside and outside. I had the cookies an d cream and the caramel. Both were really good. The cupcakes are baked at their Ridgefield store and they're brought in. They had sone good fall flavors, like pumpkin and apple. Highly recommend! read more

Best quiche in Westport hands down!!!! Love this place and forgot about it until tonight ! Super amazing

Amazing cupcakes!! The absolute best in the area. My only complaint? They aren't open half the week and are only open for a handful of hours the other half. Love the cupcakes, just wish they didn't make it so hard to buy some. read more

I think most of the reviews here forgot how a cake should be. Their products are so dense you can throw it at someone's head and knock them out. Don't let their fancy boxes fool you. Some of them are too sweet with no balance. Maybe it's the only best choice locally? Or the reviews are from family and friends? All these 5 star reviews are delusional. The reason why this shop is still open is because it has a monopoly on the area. There are no other good options within a 5 mile radius. I bet the cupcakes at Stew Leonard's are lighter and fluffier and not a sugar bomb. read more

Read great reviews. Orders cupcakes for my friends birthday. Wanted one cupcake to say Happy Birthday. Well they decided that it was okay to put letters on individual cupcakes so now they look really ugly. They even used a frosting/icing color that doesn't show up on the dark cupcakes. What's the purpose of putting letters on cupcakes that can't be seen. They could have called. They could have not made it an option for cupcakes. A good icer could have put on smaller lettera. More importantly. They should have called. Why would anyone think that this was cute. They didn't apologize. They didn't offer to take it off. Nothing. I'm reserving one star for taste and will modify. But the service gets a zero. P.S. I also called the store before pickup to ensure that order was done. With only one person allowed in the store and at least two people in the store, when I called I got voicemail. Called the other site and they answered right away. And they are busier. How is it that this westport site could not answer the phone and there were at least two people in the store. Definitely will not come back. read more

After all the hype I had to stop by and try. Had the carrot cake which was not bad just not survival. Red velvet was not bad, the mochachino was different but most of what they do here is buttercream which is WAAY too sweet. For me not that impressed Patty's in Fullerton kills this place haha down unfortunately. read more

Ordered cupcakes for my sons birthday party and they were pure heaven. I really wanted Sprinkles because I love Sprinkles and they bring back happy memories but I am really happy I tried Cake Box. Very friendly staff, 24 hr order turn around and easy pickup in Westport morning of party. Got 30 cupcakes, Vanilla with Vanilla buttercream, chocolate with vanilla buttercream and real chocolate sprinkles and stracciatella. Only thing I would say is maybe next time I would ask for half the frosting they usually use. The cake is delicious enough so don't need to overcomp with frosting. In any case, they were delicious and my guests had no problem finishing them before the party ended. I will absolutely come back to Cake Box next year. read more

We got too excited and ate the cookies & cream before I could snap a pic LOL!! The buttercream frosting on all of them was PACKED with flavor. SO buttery smooth!!! My favorite of the 3 had to be the lemon raspberry!!! If you LOVE lemon & enjoy raspberry fillings.. THIS ONE IS FOR YOU. EVERYTHING about the cupcake was PERFECT. The cake was moist! Usually I wipe off icing because it's usually artificial or too much. But this was JUST RIGHT!!!!! I will definitely come here for ALL my cupcake cravings LOL! read more

My family and I walked into The Cake Box this morning at around 10:30 AM, totally unaware that the store opens at 11 AM. The owner was kind and gracious enough to sell us cupcakes even though they were still setting up for the day. My children have multiple food allergies, so it's hard to find a bakery that can provide fresh-baked cupcakes that are allergy friendly for my girls. I'm so happy that a place like The Cake Box exists. Not only are the vegan gluten-free cupcakes incredible, but the owner is warm, gracious and most of all kind. read more

Delicious gluten free cupcakes! Friendly staff. What's not to like? We are ecstatic to have found this gem.

Both locations are fantastic. I've yet co come across a treat that wasn't delectable and crying out for me to have another. Wonderful owner and sweet helpful staff. read more

Cupcakes perfected! The icing-to-cake ratio is just right. The salted caramel and red velvet cupcakes are crave-worthy, as are the oatmeal raisin cookies. The mini vegan Bundt cakes are perfection. I've done custom orders and been thrilled. Top it all off with fancy boxes and great service, I look forward to every visit. read more

Went to buy a cupcake to see if I would like to order a cake from here. The chocolate/vanilla cupcake fell apart into tiny pieces by the time I got it home in the container and unfortunately tasted like pure sugar. read more

This is the best cupcake place in Fairfield County. We used to go to the one in Ridgefield all the time, but we were very excited to find out that there was one in Westport! The cupcakes are perfect. The size is good, especially for events. The icing is never too sweet, and the cake itself is perfectly baked. Not too moist, but not dry either. I'm normally a big fan of fun cupcakes, but my favorite here is actually the vanilla. The simplicity is the best part about it. I'd been looking for a great cupcake place in Westport/Norwalk for a while, and this place definitely hits the spot. read more

I went for the first time over the weekend and was blown away by their gluten free cupcake selection. There were at least 10 different varieties to choose from. I got three - coconut, red velvet, and funfetti. They were delicious and fun. I will be going back the next chance I get. read more

I went to the cake box a few weeks ago to purchase a few cupcakes for my son's birthday. From the get-go, the lady behind the counter whose name is Melinda, was very condescending and made snarky comments at me and actually yelled, almost screaming, at her coworker in front of me. Taken aback, I said I would take my business elsewhere, to which brought more snide comments. She was very irritable, irascible, and I don't see how she can be good for business, especially when she treats customers as such completely unprovoked. Never have I experienced a service like this, and I don't recommend people go when that lady is on shift. read more

While I can only vouch for the gluten free cupcakes, they are by far the best gf cupcakes I have ever had. And that's coming from someone who only recently had to reluctantly dive into this gf lifestyle and has since tried many a gf cupcake. I also love love love that they do not upcharge to make the cupcakes gluten free, as nearly every other baker does. And every time I've interacted with any employees, they have been extremely pleasant. I highly recommend this place! read more

Amazing cupcakes and personalized cakes! The large lemon cake we got for an event was delicious and truly a table centerpiece! We had one problem; didn't order a large enough cake! Sadly no left overs! Also great to know they have GF bakery items! read more

For my daughters first birthday I ordered a customized cake from Cake Box and spoke with Robert. He was very responsive and understood what I was looking for in a cake. I sent him a picture of the design I wanted and made some tweaks, the cake came out so pretty! Better then the original picture. read more

Sorry to say but the cupcakes I bought on Friday morning when the shop opened, were dry, dry ,dry - and actually ruined the meal we had as we then did not have a good dessert for our birthday celebration. I could not even eat the chocolate cupcakes. The buttercream on most of the cupcakes was OK but the cupcake itself was uneatable. And the cupcakes are not cheap. Would never go here again and I was excited to as I heard good things. read more

Best little bakery cute and quaint. Cupcakes are delicious !Highly recommend this place.

Best gluten free cupcakes in Fairfield county! They have great options and the cake is so moist. Although expensive we have ordered them for special events and everyone loved.!Highly recommend! read more

I never write reviews here. I picked up a "ready made" cake today. "Black and white". Chocolate on inside and white buttercream outside. Taste is subjective. It was waaaay tooooo sweet. Yikes. Cake is dry and then the heavy and too sweet filling and frosting. I like CAKE. That's why I buy a CAKE and not FROSTING. 40% cake and 60% frosting and filling. $35 for a small cake. What a crazy situation. Disappointing:( read more

As someone who isn't a big sweets eater, this place is worth the trip. I have yet to taste anything here that hasn't been extraordinary. On top of that, they have vegan options that my vegan wife raves about. We're lucky we don't live closer or we'd have a serious sweets issue. And that's coming from a household that doesn't eat many baked goods read more

awesome cakes! I special ordered a birthday cake for my husband that they designed to my suggested theme - the design was perfect and the cake (to serve over 30) was moist and delicious! While I was picking that up, I picked up a smaller cake so my husband would think there was no party - it was a "chocolate chip cookie cake" that just happened to be in stock there, and it was incredibly good - so good I ordered one for a few weeks later! Can't say enough good things about how good these are. I also might have had to pick up a cupcake or two while I was waiting... read more

The Cake Box has the best cupcakes I've ever had. They have basic flavors like Chocolate, Vanilla Red Velvet and fun flavors like S'mores and Lemon Raspberry! They are a completely nut-free bakery, which is something I look for, as I am allergic to all nuts. Thank you Cake Box! read more

Since this bakery gets such rave reviews as the best cupcake in Ct-I thought I needed to try. Cupcake tastes are pretty subjective but after trying 4 different varieties-here's my take. Cake is moist and good texture-though with the frosting these are WAY too sweet. The "buttercream" doesn't taste like traditional buttery frosting-and honestly was almost inedible. I wondered if they used artificial sweeteners. Each cupcake is pretty small and they're expensive. Sorry not impressed-and certainly not the best in the state. Try RJ Julia's tea shop in Madison for what a great cupcake should taste like. read more
